OOC: You just need to remove the part about recognizing him as Diyadian. He'd be essentially indistinguishable from anyone else considering he is cloaked, and under the cloak he isn't wearing Diyadian attire. His eyes, although different, wouldn't suggest he was Diyadian. |

Brutus kept walking and returned to the city. He wished that some of the workers had at least walked with him back, his journey back had been lonely. He wished for a few things. He wished he had his tiger. He wished his brothers were here, he wished Conyr was here. He wished he knew where his sister was. He wished that the workers had told him their names. But Conyr was the biggest of his worries. That and his proposals. As Brutus was walking in the market of the city, he noticed that people had began to get used to Brutus. The giant was just another part of the Venezzian's life's now. And he certainly wasn't the oddest thing to happen to them as of late. Brutus sighed in boredom, these conferences were to him at least, exceptionally boring.every one wanted something and only seemed to offer something up if it made that thing they wanted possible. Brutus also felt sad that he hadn't really gotten to get to know any of the nations ambassadors, aside from Alixenus and Conyr of course. He had seemed to have "met" the dwarves ambassador. His first impressions might have been slightly... Blemished. But he hadn't liked him in the first place anyways. While in thought Brutus tripped over some one, and tripped over some one is a good way of explaining it. Brutus had been walking, and suddenly fell, and the yelp he heard was definitely a person. He hoped they weren't hurt to badly... So when he got up quickly to see if hey were fine he noticed something. This person was one of mystery, Brutus couldn't really tell where he came from or who he was but those eyes... he looked distinguished, royal. Hopefully Brutus hadn't knocked down a late ambassador. "Brutus sorry, is friend okay?" The giant held out his hand to the man to help him up.

Somehow the man's cloak managed to stay on completely. He accepted the giant's offer to help him up.
"I'm quite alright friend. You seem to be heading to the Assembly. Luckily I made it here just in time. I thought I'd be late for sure. Let us finish this journey together then shall we?"
OOC: Sandromin. I had to go back and change my reply to tour last post before your disappearance. So if you haven't seen it yet go back and read it on page 23. Thanatos hasn't been officially revealed yet. |

Oh, go on. You can create your own trees if you like. The only limit must be they are common; not some giant world tree that all life stems from.
I suppose this'll be a good way to populate our forests with our own trees. This wasn't the intended purpose, but there you go. |

"Brutus really sorry for knocking friend over." Brutus wiped some dirt off of the stranger. He could tell this man was no average citizen. The air of a warrior was around the stranger. Brutus and the stranger began to walk. Brutus was silent for once, he knew when to ask his questions and when people wouldn't like to hear them. He wanted to. He could see weapons under his cloak. Well out fitted for a stroll to a peaceful assembly. But Brutus figured that if this man wanted to fight anyone, the entire assembly would come down upon this man, Brutus included. He still wondered why the stranger had so many weapons though, even if he had traveled across the the whole of Dustia. Brits then began to remember what he had once used for a weapon before his world crumbled. It was a sword, a sword his son had helped him craft, two handed, but Brutus was once of the few giants who could wield two handed giant weapons single handedly. The cleaver, that's what they called it. The entire weapon was about six feet long, but the metal they used in all protector gear, and military grade weapons, cantrexrite, was naturally light, and durable, and when forged by masters, sharper than a politicians tongue. The blade and Brutus were infamous among the people, forged for a short war that lasted only 10 months before the nation fell. But that blade...that beautiful, deadly blade claimed so many lives. Brutus wasn't even sure how many lives he had snuffed out with that weapon, with his own hands. He remembered a battle. It was dawn, the sky was filled with Zeppelins, the once majestic creations, now a symbol of their war. Brutus was alone in this battle, his brothers were scattered form him. Brutus had ten other protectors with him, loyalist like him self. But he could see his enemies. Men and protector separatist. This would be a blood bath. The battle would take place in a large valley between hills nearly the size of mountains. Everything was quiet. Nearly serene. Then the hell of war was unleashed. Both sides flowed forward like the river of blood that was about to be created. Brutus was on the front line, he had clashed with another protector, this was a veteran, his armor had dents, scratches, every kind of blemish imaginable. Brutus was a protector of four years, he was inexperienced and this protector knew it. Brutus raised his weapon to met his enemies, the strike was great in power. Brutus was knocked back, he kept his guard up as his rival swung at him with ferocity, Brutus was being hammered down to his knees. He couldn't take much more. Brutus swung his arm, and knocked the weapon off course. The hammer struck the ground at the same time as an explosion sounded. Brutus grabbed the arm of the veteran and began to bend it back, he was stronger. Bones and armor snapped as a cry of anguish rang, others screams were shadowed by the might of the giants shout. Brutus was sickened he had killed men but he hadn't fought another giant. This was personal. He wouldn't let this man suffer. The veteran was cradling his arm. He was on his knees. Brutus will never forget the look in the mans eyes. It was a look he had seen before. Pain of losing your family. He had seen it in brothers who were no longer brothers fathers who fought sons. This man had died already. "I'm sorry. May your gods keep you." " and may your god protect you" was the last thing his opener had said. Brutus took off his head with a single swing. Blood the color of the dawn sky watered the ground. The battle raged around Brutus, but none attacked him or stood by his side. The battle was won, but what was its cost? The death of a fellow protector and the lands citizens. Brutus snapped back to reality. He had been standing around, while the stranger was kind enough to wait for him. "Brutus sorry. We go now." The giant and the stranger b Egan their trek back to the conference room. |

OOC: There is only one type of tree in Diyad. Seeing as Diyad was mostly barren and had previously been only badlands, these trees are very special. They are only located around the Diyadian capital of Karthage. They mostly resemble cherry blossom trees, but larger and more vast, they cover a great distance and completely surround the perimeter of Karthage. Because of this there are no cities in this area. Only smaller villages within the trees. They're called ehrom trees. Their colors(currently bright gold) constantly change every season(year). The colors symbolize what the following year will be like. The Great Ascension is a month long holiday that occurs on the month of Illmorth, The trees first appeared in Illmorth during the second era. More precisely the day King Lionus II was born in Diyad. The colors change after the Great Ascension, a month long holiday when all of the ehrom blossoms fall. They fall like snow throughout the whole continent. The wind carries them, even to the floating cities. During the night they glow like stars. This phenomena is considered one of the most beautiful things to see in Diyad. Couples often like to get married during the event, or the night before it begins. There are parades and celebrations all month long. It is considered good fortune if a child is born after the new blossoms begin to bud. The first Great Ascension oddly didn't occur until several seasons after they appeared. Not until the day King Lionus III died, on the first day of Illmorth. Legend states that every season since then, the trees weep for their lost king throughout the whole month.
So to wrap it up the trees represent birth/rebirth, change and renewal. They are the sign of new journeys. By the way tomorrow would be the first day of Illmorth. P.S. Sorry for this long description for a tree... |

//OOC: Wow, my tree description will be much more trivial than yours, Thanatos. . It will be somewhat special for the Ashborn nonetheless. //End of OOC\\
After speaking with Igniris, Nexhawk's mind was on their ravaged home and nothing else. Lost in his thoughts, soon he found himself standing on the outskirts of Spodium, not far away from what seemed to be a plantation of sorts. However, it was, in fact, a soon-to-be forest of cendren trees, native to Abismonus and brought to Lavania by the Ashborn refugees.
Several mages could be seen tending to the dark red saplings growing from the ash soil. Once fully grown, the trees' bark would not be too different from the skin of the Ashborn; fiery cracks, caused by the volcanic ash, would divide the brown-and-grey surface of the tree trunks into a sieve of markings and lines. For the refugees, the trees were a symbol of home, a reminder of Abismonus and its loss, and a hope for beginning a new life on this unknown continent.
Nexhawk kneeled and gently touched one of the young cendren, causing the leaves to shimmer and send several fiery sparks into the air. He grinned upon finding it ironic that the home his people have lost, which cendren now symbolised, would be most likely returned with the help of the mysterious magician, who, Nexhawk was almost certain, was one of the Exiled.
//OOC: A little hint that, on Praecantaria, those Exiled had powers that had something to do with the trees. //End of OOC\\ |

The tree of the deserts is indisputable. A symbol of life, it is the kalter tree.
The kalter tree is an interesting tree indeed. They are scattered throughout the desert and their roots go deep underground. In fact, one kalter tree was found to have its roots span to a depth of 200 feet before. The trees themselves are hollow, interestingly enough. The reason for this is that they serve as an internal well system.
The roots penetrate an aquifer and siphon water to the trunk. Many cities are built around kalter trees, as they serve as water sources and wells. These trees are a natural pump and tend to be the center of many oases. Kalter trees can span up to 200 feet high and the trunks themselves can be 8 feet wide. Once a kalter tree reaches a certain size, they will then create a pool of water around it by spreading excess water, allowing for plant life to spread. These things allow for desert life to spread.
However, the most interesting thing about kalter trees is their reproduction. The trees themselves take four years to blossom. Once they blossom, the flowers produce a special type of fruit. The fruit has a pit which has a gas within, allowing it to float into the air. This pit is surrounded by the succulent flesh of the fruit. Once the fruit's parts have been eaten, the seed will float into the air. In the air, the seed will be blown by prevailing winds and travel a distance before the gas is naturally released through the top of the pit. At this point, the weight will be too great to bear, and the pit will fall to the ground. As it hits the ground, the pit will explode due to the reaction caused by remaining gases. However, only the outer shell will explode, and as it explodes, a small crater will be formed in the ground. This crater allows the seed to take root easier.
For the next six years, the seed of the kalter tree will begin making it's way to the reservoirs underneath using energy in the seed provided from the parent tree. Most seeds do not make it past this point, but when a seed does, it creates a beautiful tree upon which desert life flourishes.
Note: Please realize this tree's seeds are very deadly and there are several reports of deaths of people upon contact from falling seeds. It's quite hilarious actually and makes for very nice bedtime stories to deter children from running away. |

OOC: If it had to be a tree, the Collective would be represented as a tree with a metal pole instead of a trunk, gears instead of leaves and some circuitry running within it. I'd otherwise prefer to make a gear emblem, nice and simple.
The Collective ambassador had been intrigued by the sudden arrival of Nexhawk to Dustia. It spoke to Alixenus:"I wonder if we can actually trust this people. They carry with them an uncheckable power of destruction, with no way of regulating it. They could all wipe us out if they wished." |

OOC I think the comedy left this thread as we all began to take it seriously. I personally wasn't sure this thread would make it past page 3. If you look at my post about invading the Logipriests, you will see that I'm jingoistic, completely self-aware and self-parodying. "The Republic of Venezzia refuses to recognise the Logipriest nation until we have made a poorly-judged attempt to gauge your strength". Or the Logipriests themselves, their name, their literally fatal weakness to rabbits and the non-melting-cursed-chocolate-of-golem-doom.
However, don't go shoehorning humour, of course. |

[OOC]I will be posting my tree in a future post.[/OOC]
Spells, spells, spells. Good, are they not? Reanimation, no that was spoken already. Fire? No, that wasn't. Yes, fire. The power to send the essence of life towards your enemies with utmost destruction! It made Xavier feel all joyful inside. The burnt corpses of his enemies, the traitors, the terrorists. It provides a new meaning to the term "public execution". Ah, the book. The sweet, sweet, book. The one that provides joy and misery to all! The one that can destroy someone's mind from within!
Xavier, in all of his fine attire, was patiently reading the book in his seat. There were no more propositions being voted on anymore, the day was done.
Two days. Two bloody days. How much more longer? One? Two? All I really need is sleep. Then it will be better. All better...
And then he saw someone. Someone most familiar. A man dressed in a worn and torn and most brown cloak. He walked with a posture that had an air of excellence. Importance. But how how could that be? He was cloaked! Hidden! Invisible to the eye! Xavier felt the air. The book felt the air. He was an outsider. A man who has seen many obstacles and has overcome them.
In a possibly rash decision, Xavier swiftly slid out his chair, and snaked through the crowd. The giant was next to the outsider, talking to him.
Xavier waved to the man. At a closer glance the man carried weapons of different cultures and styles that Xavier never thought was possible, from a jig-jagged sword to a hooked mace. The book thumped at his side.
"Oi! Traveler! As you do know this is a closed assembly. May I ask what you are doing here?" |
