Alixenus wrote:Despite nearly facing death at the hands of Brutus then Xavier, Alixenus had recovered his composure fairly well. Brutus was crouched by the double doors, watching the scene. He could fit in, but that would make the room unbearably cramped. Xavier had been reminded twice now by his aides to stop reading his book and pay attention to proceedings. The Logipriests were sitting around a small side table, waiting with no small amount of trepidation for what was to happen next. Natyli, however, was still being held sperately in a private room. Alixenus hoped to have that resolved during one of the breaks in the conference.
"Alixenus? Would you care to take the floor?"
The Diyadians had been somewhat sketchy on what the purpose of this conference was, so everyone brought their own ideas. Sandromin and Alixenus were to act as mediators and judges in the event that any negotiations became heated. Alixenus straightened his Robes and stood before the congregation.
"Thank you Sandromin. Your highnesses, Lords, Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to the City of Venezzia. It is my hope that with this conference we may be able to heal some of the wounds that have recently befell this world and perhaps, with the grace of the Gods, foster new ties of brotherhood between us. Venezzia is a prime example of this. But a few months ago we were ravaged by a brief and bloody civil war, insitgated by Traitorous merchants and a rogue sand Lord. Did we cull these merchants? Did we hold Sandromin responsible? No, we reformed, rebuilt and created a closer unity with our neighbours."
Xavier seemed none too impressed with Alixenus' speech thus far, but he ignored the Dwarf and carried on.
"Change is the way of the world, as is progress. But this should mean that just because things can change does not mean that they have to." He glanced at Duke Vincenzo who was watching from one of the Galleries. "This also should mean that just because something has always been one way, does not mean that that is the best way"
"I will not deny that Venezzia has not been the cause of much woe during recent times, much as it has also suffered at the hands of others. But what's done is done. We have here, in our hands, an opportunity to change this world for the better. I ask you not to squander it."
Alixenus finished but remained standing. He was met with a respectable round of applause for his words. When it died down he spoke again. "With ceremony out of the way, let us begin our work. If there are no objections I would like to open this conference with my agenda" There did not appear to be any outward objections to this. Waiters silently moved around the table, refilling the drinks of the ambassadors.
"Excellent, you will find my agenda in the yellow sheath. I wish to discuss the following. 1: The rights of Venezzian miners in the Lucian foothills. 2: The persistant issue of a race of indutrial barbarians to the south. 3: The rights of the remaining Logipriests and colonisation rights to the Logipriest nation. 4: Trade lane control over the Western sea, particularly to Diyad. Lastly, formalisation of Venezzia's borders with the Sandmen and Lucia."
So the conference began...
"Actually, I would like to begin on your second point. You see, it seems that they're simply a leaderless race of men who have quite an advanced palette of technology," Sandromin stated. "Although I do not care for your first and fourth points, the second point is one of the things I have been thinking about recently. They have landed on my shores and have declared Bojo leader of their troops. So, it seems they are now an official nation."
Sandromin then cleared his voice in preparation for the next point...
"Now, as for you third point. I think it would be terrible to colonize their lands. As you can see, there are still six alive. Furthermore, their leader is alive and well, so colonization of their lands would be technically a declaration of war. We have already had them displaced from their original lands, so I feel they must keep their current lands."
"Furthermore, my marauders have discovered several new land masses and have begun the cartography process."
And the most important point...
"Also, it seems that some of us are lacking in technology compared to many other nations... in fact, some of us pale in comparison to others. Therefore, I suggest we create an international guild of knowledge, in order to bring about a worldwide stability in technology!" |

"Order! Order in the hall!" Sandromin's proposal were met with whispers and murmurings, both for fair and ill. Personally, Alixenus loved the idea of bringing Venezzia onto an equal footing with Diyad and this 'collective'. As strong as their soldiers were, and as miraculous as their hydraulic technology was, what could it do against Iron men and flying machines?
"Sandromin, you're proposal has much merit and will be discussed momentarily. But first, I believe the representative of the Collective spoke first" Alixenus turned to look at the camera of the diplomacy unit. He still remembered being ambushed by these things and wasn't too sure how to speak to one. "Representative of the collective, I speak on behlaf of Venezzia when I say we would be more than willing to trade with you. If you could indicate the location of your nearest trade centre to my scribe, he will this information delivered to the Cartographers."
"Returning to the emergence of the one known as Bojo, I move that we said a joint diplomatic mission to him to discove his intentions" Scribes hidden about the hall were writing notes next to various issues: whether they were resolved, whether they needed a vote and so on.
"Next, I am sorry to say Sandromin, that if what you say is true, then there are only 5 logipriests left. 5 can hardly breed to sufficient numbers to maintain their island. Even now, Pirates and, unfortunately, escaped serfs from Venezzia are building towns and ports on the island. At some point, could you explain to me how Logipriest soverignty is to be maintained?" The Official artist was once again at work, painting the scene with thick oils upon canvas to record this conference for posterity.
"And lastly" he turned to the scribes "Reccord that the motion to create an internation guild of knowledge must be put to a vote before the end of this conference."
Alixenus then sat down, indicating it was time for another to speak. |

Sandromin stood.
"In retort to the statement about the logipriests, they still have a race and one leader. And, correct me if I'm wrong, they breed like rabbits as well (sorry about the rabbits reference... I know how much you hate them). Now, as for maintaining their sovereignty... I suggest a coalition force excluding the Venezzians (since you have had prior conflict) to maintain nobody enters the logipriest nation."
"Also, if you cannot keep your men away from the logipriest nation, then it seems you have intrusively invaded their nation. Unless you either renounce their citizenship and force them out of logipriest land, then war has officially been declared. Since they technically have a leader and one representative, their borders are still up until further negotiated."

I found myself back on the rooftops. Venezzia was smothered in silence; all attention was focused on the meeting.
I watched the waves lap at the shore and I felt lost. For the first time, I did not know what to do.
So I sat down on the roof and waited. I'd let fate take the reins.
-
Hayde found her. Layla. She was in that container. He walked up to it and touched the cold, hard surface. Anger bubbled up inside him. How dare they store his twin like some commodity. He found a sealed hatch of some sort and was trying to figure out how to open it when a Collective automaton tasered him from behind.
-
Layla awoke, heart pounding.
"...Hayde?"
The darkness did not respond. Then she heard it again, a faint scream. The soundproofing of the box made the noise seem miles away to Layla, but she recognised it nonetheless.
"Hayde!"
She kicked the box, which yielded only a bruised heel. She thought back to that song she sang, decades ago, the haunting melody... but it escaped her. She could not recall it. Panic seized her senses and she went into a frenzy, pounding every inch of her prison.
"Let me out! Hayde, no, don't hurt him- let me out!"
-
The restorative powers of the logipriests was strong enough to withstand one taser electrocution, but how many more?
Hayde found out the limit was six.
By the time the automaton had managed to disable him, he had beating the machine to a pulp with his bare fists.
He lay on the ground, his muscles twitching violently, listening to the pounding on the box, willing himself to move, but was unable to do anything but breathe jerkily.
He stared up at the sky and watched the sun glide across the heavens, and it was sinking into the horizon by the time Hayde regained control of his body. He stood up shakily and walked over to the container and found the hatch. He found what he was looking for; there was a keyhole of some kind. He walked over to the machine and instantly found what he was looking for. The handle of the taser was shaped exactly like the keyhole. The problem was, it was designed in such a way that you had to touch the charged end to use the key. Hayde took the taser and walked over to the lock, breathing deeply.
Then he quickly inverted the taser and threw his body onto the lock as the electric current numbed his whole arm. It clicked in and the hatch opened.
-
Layla gasped as daylight streamed into the prison. Her eyes, already blurred from her sobbing, was assaulted by a fresh batch of tears. She blinked several times and climbed out.
"Hayde!"
She was just about to touch him when she saw the taser in his hand. She instead ran and tackled him, releasing his grasp from the taser. Then she set about healing him, slowly, tears still falling from her eyes.
I'm useless. I couldn't save him before and now, he had to suffer again.
Hayde's eyes were fluttering open when a harsh voice chuckled behind her.
"What have we here, boys. Some love birds sneaking away for some alone time, eh."
Layla turned. A bunch of dwarves and men were leering at her. In the fading light, she might not have known they were drunk if they didn't smell like they had bathed in ale. She crinkled her nose.
"Leave us alone", she demanded. "We mean you no harm."
"Oh?" The big man with the harsh voice spoke again. "We don't mean any harm either. We just want to have some fun."
Layla glared at them, knowing her perfume was adding to the confusion of senses in their heads.
She knew they meant every word they said.
What she didn't know, though, was that the critical meeting that was taking place involved both of the races now advancing on her.
She knew the easiest way out of this situation would be to cause a chaotic, drunken melee, where she and Hayde are not harmed at all.
What she didn't know was that if conflict broke out now, in the midst of the vital diplomacy and tense international relationships, things would go awry.
But what she didn't know doesn't hurt her or Hayde, so she didn't want to know.
So she led the group to another pub, one roaring with activity. She jumped onto a table. All eyes turned to her. Then she pronounced, loudly and clearly.
"I am the leader of these men you see behind me. As a rebel, they will take over Venezzia. Who's with me!"
Interestingly enough, she had chosen the pub whos patrons were most loyal to Alixenus. So when the resounded cry of outrage escaped from their slick, alcohol-laced throats, she jumped back out of the entrance nimbly. The other men and dwarves were not so agile. Their screams were horrific and attracted others for blocks around. When the dwarves saw their kin being assaulted, they took it the wrong way. When the men saw dwarves rushing to the fight, they misunderstood.
And as Layla was dragging Hayde out of the city, looking for shelter, the brawl grew to a full scale interracial battle.

[OOC]I missed a lot in this long while[/OOC]
Xavier sat quietly, reading his book though the meeting. The events that have come previous do not bother him anymore. He got his book. His darling.
But, after a while, he decided to take the floor. One of his bills must be scrapped, for it has already been proposed.
He stands.
"Greetings, everyone! Sorry to be a late in the proceedings here, but all will go on all the same. Good speach, Alixenus. I solemnly enjoyed it. Well, let us start will the issue of the mines, shall we?"
He glances at Alixenus, a smirk forms on his face. He is most certainly enjoying this.
"Alixenus. Comrade! We have fought a revolution together! We have returned Venezzia to it's proper place! And now you wish to ruin and the bonding and trust by bringing up such a trivial issue? You know that my borders lie from mountain to mountain, but I will give you this, you had your mines before me. Well, before Lucia was united. So, because of this, and that you are a faithful ally, I will let you mine the mines you currently have occupied, as long as you not build any more."
"But let us get to the more, interesting one."
He turns toward Sandromin.
"Sandromin, from what I have gathered, you wish to protect a lost nation of five people. Let me repeat that, five people. Now, my friend, that is absurd. It is not worth the time, effort, or money to produce such a task. And besides..."
He looks at the crowd.
"They are lucky they have not paid for their crimes! Why, they all murdered innocent lives! Under some preposterous spell or not, they should all be hanged!"
There was dead silence in the room. A putrid smell of sweat and perspiration came from all the diplomats.
"But no, because we are a civilized people. We are not evil. We do not enslave. But we do forgive. Give them a country? No. But let them join whichever society them choose. Yes, my friends, yes."
A cheer erupted from the crowd.
[OOC]I will let someone else speak now. But be warned, he has yet more to say.[/OOC] |

Brutus was sitting quietly by the door. Listening to the conferences, when the noise of battle sounded in the city. And what a battle it sounded like Brutus rose slowly, surely no one would care if he left for a few minutes, no one seemed to notice when he had left last, or at least they didn't care. And the sound might disturb the meeting, so Brutus could go and put a stop to it, no one could see it but a child like grin spread across Brutus' hidden face. Brutus followed the sounds of screams and cries of pain until he happened upon the pub where people were literally being thrown out. A second story window spit out a man, who Brutus caught. The dismayed man had been thoroughly beaten his face was blue with cuts and bruises and it looked as if he had lost a few fingers on his hand,This wasn't some random fight this was a full blown riot. This could get out of hand very quickly. It was time for peace keeper Brutus to make the scene Brutus laid the man down, pointed at him and grunted "stay." He walked into the bar ready to see some carnage, which was exactly what he saw. Dwarves were fighting men men were fighting men and dwarves were fighting dwarves, it was utter chaos. No one noticed the giant walk in for once. So he made him self know. "EVERYONE STOP!" Was shouted with the force and noise of a hurricane. All the combatants stopped immediately with the ones closest to him covering their ears in pain and the ones farthest way jumping a combined one hundred feet or so in the air. These men knew who this was, this was the giant, the one people were telling stories about, how it literally threw Alixenus, in full plate armor on to a roof, killed several metal men and even zombies and recently single handedly sunk a boat. And that's what these drunken angry men knew, this thing could have killed an entire nation for all they know.this giant was a literal force of nature, standing in their pub. The thing was just standing there, waiting. These men knew it would be suicide to fight that. So even though they clearly out numbered Brutus the drunk men didn't want to take chances. It was then that one man who was passing by Brutus was grabbed on the shoulder by the beast, he wet his pants thinking this his end. "Who start fight?" The giant growled. The man stood terrified. But mustered the words " the green woman" before he ran off. Brutus stood dumb founded, another logipriest here? Was he lucky? No, not with the luck they brought him. Brutus left the bar and caught a smell, it was similar to natyli's but oh so different, angrier. The other logipriest. Brutus was no hound but he knew how to find her. The wind would tell him some how. |

OOC: This is getting interesting. I know I haven't been posting much but that's only because my character isn't exactly on Dustia. Really there was nothing I could do until after the meeting began. Also anything involving Fate isn't actually happening in the present, past nor future. Also because I completely forgot, let's assume that before this meeting Alixenus and the Diyadian delegates have already discussed the proceedings of the meeting and other issues, considering we called the Assembly.
Little did the two Logipriests know, they had passed the large airship that transported the Secret Council of Diyad. They were met by two Alkhemist Knights, not just any, but the most elite Diyadian force know as "The King's Men". There alkhemical abilities only surpassed by the late king. One should not take them as common idiotic foot soldiers, for they are also Diyad's greatest scientists. Their armor of shiny white and gold. Their gold helmets completely covering their faces. Their eyes each a glowing blue. They grab each by the arm gently. One begins to speak:
" You shouldn't be causing so much trouble during one the most important events of the 3rd Era. Luckily we were able to defuse the stir you caused in the pub. The last thing we want is a war. Especially considering Diyad plans to work in your favor. Please come with us to our airship. We will have meals and baths prepared for you both."
The attending Diyadians at the Assembly had been silent the entire time. But with good observation one could read their thoughts through their facial expression. The 7 members of the Secret Council were all in attendance. After hearing what Xavier had to say the youngest member stood up. Achyr Solaran, perhaps the late king's most trusted friend. They fought side by side in the Great Civil War. He takes the stage.
"Calm yourself Dwarf. No reason to move so quickly. I am Achyr Solaran of the Secret Council of Diyad. I'm sure you've all heard by now that he had died during the Logizombie/Golem Crisis. Since that time our alkhemists have confirmed that the reason for said tragedy was not the Logipriests doing. I don't really see how fair it is to hang the victims of evil magicks. Somewhere in this world there is an Archnecromancer. At the moment he or she isn't very powerful yet, because their location is still unknown. So first Diyad would like to make two proposals. First we offer to take full custody of the remaining Logipriests, making them Diyadian citizens. Their fate would be up to us. With us they could remain safe and secluded from the outside world. Our next proposal would be The Lich Hunt Act. Since the Crisis we have lost the Dark Arcanum, the book containing all the evil magicks of every Archnecromancer. It is highly dangerous, and can wipe out all of Dustia in the wrong hands. It is still the property of Diyad. We were hoping to make it property of the entire present council. We do have means however of finding both. We've noticed that Diyadians are ultra sensitive to magick even though we don't wield it. Any nation that supports the Lich Hunt would be allowing us to employ a network of spies with the sole purpose of locating both the Archnecromancer and the Dark Arcanum. I know this may sound off but we assure you that our intentions are not of political espionage. I only ask that take the time to consider it."
With that he takes his seat and begins to converse with his fellow council members. |

Xavier shakes his head. He cannot worry about that now. But what he does worry about, is Diyad.
"Oh, a secret council," Xavier mocks. "I have been attacked by a Giant, my ship has been destroyed, and now, everyone, there is a super-secret council! A joke! A joke all this is! Magick? Bah! Archnecromancer? Bah! All these proclaimed magicks are, if not fake, increased powers of the mind. And this "Dark Arcanum." If it is so powerful as you claim, how do we know you will not use it against us? I proclaim today, if these men get that book, they will use it like the thieves they are!"
A rage is now fueled within Xavier. He hated the Dyiads. Hated them will all his might.
"Their king was an manipulator! A tyrant! Tried to take the book himself. We should all be thankful, that that one woman stopped him. Stopped him from taking our lands! Starting with mine. Yes, you should have seen that magnificent contraption! It flies like the most agile bird, and shocked like the deadliest electric eel. Why, it killed 30 of my men! Go, take the Logipriests. Take them if they wish to live in your foul world. But leave the sane people of Dustia alone from this constant babble of witchcraft!" |

Brutus was on the logipriest trail when he saw them with the two knights. Brutus knew immediately that too fight them, would be idiotic. He wasn't going to fight these men or seem like he would, so he took the best route he knew . "Hello!" Was what he shouted at the two knights, who looked at the giant in in a strange manner. "Um...hello. And who might you be?" Asked one of the knights. "Me Brutus. Brutus protect logipriest"he pointed at the two logpriest who looked confused as well. "Brutus explain later." The knights and logipriest were surprised at how blatant this creature was. He had simply walked up to two heavily armed and armored knights and struck up a conversation, well more or less. Was this giant really here to protect these two strangers? "Um...shiny men come too? Make sure brutus tell truth?" No one knew what to do. The wounded logipriest was the one to speak up. "I trust him, I don't know why but I do." So it was with confusion mostly the knights and logipriest followed the giant back to the meeting, with brutus humming as they went along. |

OOC: Man Xavier you're pretty good at playing your character. It's like a really good actor that you have to remind yourself you don't hate/love them, but the character that they play. I was almost legitimately mad at you. Now back to the Fate situation.
The bright image behind the shadow became more and more defined. Excitement filled her chest as the image of Lionus in his former glory was right in front of her. He was finally accepting who he was and would love her as she had hoped. She listened intently as he began to speak. The shadow stood up his eyes becoming blue.
"Only inevitable... L-L-Lionus. I am... Only a slave to you. I cannot escape your love."
Her happiness finally pooled over.
YES YES! You are almost there join me now. You can finish this. Tell me you are the valiant hero Lionus III.
I am Lionus the...the... who is?
She stands before him confused.
My love I cannot understand your words. We ares so close now. Who is Lionus???
Anger begins filling within his heart. His face twitches. He stands up quickly. As he speaks he gets increasingly louder until the point of screaming.
"Lionus.. Lionus!? HE DIED long time ago!
The image behind him fades away. As he spoke she noticed his soul grew brighter than it had ever been. His eyes once more glowed an even brighter pink. What is he doing!?! This is impossible! This shouldn't be happening. For the first time fear filled her voice. She tied meekly to speak but her words were drowned out by his screaming. The sea began to still forcefully. the ocean had spit the boy back out.
My love whatever do you mean? You speak nonsense!!!
" Lionus was died centuries ago. Along with everything he ever loved. His wife, his son, HIS BROTHER!!! YOU ARE TRULY A FOOL TOO SEEK LOVE FROM A DEAD MAN. I WILL NEVER LOVE YOU! I AM NOT THE KING YOU SEEK! I AM THANATOS, AN ENEMY AS DEFINITE AS DEATH. To the end of days I WILL defy you! And like death I will overcome you.
She was frozen in fear. The shadow in front of her, was now a man. However this was not Lionus, not anymore. How could he temper his soul? She took everything. She manipulated everything. Had he learned the secret she was tasked with hiding? Any mortal can defy, or even slay an Elder God. All were capable of this feat. But none have managed to temper their souls to do so. His image began to crack like glass as well as the part of the palace he was standing in. His bright caramel skin was filled with life and there was fire in his eyes. She thought silently to herself. He he left her he would not remember most of the things that have happened. He approached leaning his head over her shoulder and whispered in her ear as if he had heard her thoughts.
"That does not matter. Note the time on your clock, consider this the beginning of the end. Dustia is no longer your victim. You along with the Elder Gods... will fall."
Before she could speak a word his body shattered before her. Disappearing from her celestial palace. Fear became anger.
We will see about that Godslayer. If you will not love me, I will destroy the very world you cherish.
Thanatos opened his now pink eyes. He felt something heavy on top of him and there was only darkness. He began to dig his way until he saw light for what seemed like the very first time. It did not take long before he had realized where he was, on top of the ruins of a Logipriest temple. A couple of metres away he noticed his old vessel, the PAI. He reached for his saber, but as he did it burned to ashes and flew away with the wind. He knew what this meant. He no longer belonged to Fate. He tried to activate the PAI, scribbling alkhemical runes along the dirt, but to no avail. He seemed to have lost the ability to use alkhemistry. But he could feel a new power within himself. He had lost a lot of memory of certain events in his past. But he now had a stronger sense of self than ever before. He knew his goal. To protect Dustia. His exposure to the Great Clock had given him a very pinpoint sense of time. He began walking to his destination.
"At this rate I should be able to make it to Venezzia in time. I must be off."
Behind him a spirit watch from the distance. Pride of Thanatos on his face. The spirit then disappeared. He would arrive to Venezzia to speak with the ruler of the Sandmen. Before he left Thanatos had sensed his presence. He smiled, and was now even more motivated. His whisper carried off into the wind.
"Free. My brother."

The Collective ambassador replied to Alixenus's question. "Our main trading outpost is near the coast of the Western Sea. We will give you the coordi-" it said before it was cut off by the commencing violence outside. The Collective guards took out their assault rifles, standing on guard against any imminent attackers. A few rushed over to their fallen comrade's husk, downloading his AI program and memories just in time before his body shut down and notifying the others by instant message that the captive logipriest had escaped. "Continuing on, we would like to discuss the status of the barbarians. The Collective urges all nations to approach them on friendly terms. We do not know their numbers, but they possibly have many, and their technology seems to be our equal." the ambassador continued. |

Brutus was the first thing to come thought the council door. "Brutus found logipriest!" This was statted very loudly and starteled some of the more drowsy ambassadors. "What is that thing. Talking about?" Xavier with disgust In his voice. He was still probably mad about how his boot was sunk, but Brutus didn't really care. "Brutus talking about them." He them moved aside to let the twin logipriest enter. A murmur arouse from from the council. "Found them with shiny men." Was what Brutus stated before any one could ask. One of the ambassadors, a Venezzian asked. "What, uh shiny men are you talking about, exactly?" Brutus moved over again and waited for a minute for the kings men to enter. But they waited outside, until Brutus motioned for someone outside. Brutus stood with one of the Diyadian soldiers, who looked almost ashamed to be standing with the giant, away from his post, he wouldn't look at the ambassadors from his country. "Found shiny man by flying ship, had logipriest with them." Several people starting talking at once until Alixenus spoke up. "Every one stop! He's not used to so many people talking at once, let him explain him self." And so Brutus did just that, he talked about how he had walked, and seen a pub fight, and had tracked the logipriest. Every one seemed confused seeing as the giant wasn't good at speaking. But the gist of the explanation made some sense to them. The giant had gotten bored and wandered around for a while, it was simple enough. But then the giant said something unpredictable. "Brutus would like to take ex-pa-dition back to old country. Brutus would like to be protector to logipriest." Everyone was silent until one of the other ambassadors spoke up. |

Alixenus had been sitting back in his chair, observing the verbal sparring between Xavier and what seemed like everyone else. He had much to say, but he had to say it carefully. Passions were already inflamed. If he worded this wrong the conference would end in nothing but a stalemate, or war. Neither would be in Venezzia's or his own best interests. He was not a diplomat, nor a poet. But he was a soldier of Venezzia, which meant that he was an excellent, if stubborn, orator. As he prepared to speak the chamberlain handed him a note written in Military shorthand.
'Disturbance to the north. Civilians and foreign sappers. Situation contained. Super heavy unit with knights and Fugitives approaching your position. Code Green'
It was a limited language but the city guards had already adapted it to their needs. In this case, 'foreign sappers' meant Dwarves, the Super heavy was Brutus and Code green was referring to Logipriests. At this point the collective ambaassdor ceased speaking. Alixenus stated his displeasure at the fact that he did not recieve this note before the arrival of Brutus. Just as Alixenus rose to speak, the chamberlain handed him another note.
'She has escaped'
Alixenus scrunched up the note and, with his right hand quivering with Rage, he began to speak.
"Delegates, please, there is no need for this to degenerate into a common brawl. If the Logipriests truly breed as rapidly as Sandromin says, then I see no reason not to have their island back. ORDER! Order in the hall." Xavier was glaring at Alixenus, as if he the power of his eyes would turn him to ash. However, Alixenus was observant than he expected. "Xavier, do take that look off your face, tis most unbecoming" Shaken, the Dwarf averted his gaze.
"Thank you. Now, the serfs can be evicted from the Logipriest nation with little fuss. The pirates however, will require a modicum of violence. Still, it should be no trouble for us. Xavier, much to my own sorrow, I must oppose you again. In Venezzia's history we have had, on occaision, come up against magic. We even produced a Wizard ourselves sometimes. With this in mind I cannot simply refuse to accept the existance of an Archnecromancer. As Interim administrator, I hereby allow the Diyadians to establish their spy network within our borders."
Some of the Nobility, mostly Alixenus' oppositon, roared in anger at this decision. Through the chaso in the Gallery, Alixenus could see Duke Vincenzo staring at him. He saw the Duke draw his sword. The weapon was more of a fashion statement. Still, it was enough.
"Weapon! Weapon in the Gallery! Guards! Detain them! Apoligies, to my most noble guests. Now, as for the matter of exacting a penalty on the Logipriests... I find I have been won round by the arguments that I have heard today. Initially, I would have liked nothing better than to lock them in a Rabbit warren until they pleaded for death. Now, I believe that they have suffered enough."
"The Sun has begun to set, I would like to call an end to todays sessions with a round of voting. All in favour of the Logipriests returning to their island say I" |

Xavier twitched a bit. The rage was now more present then ever. Stupidity emanated from each person in that room, like a foul stench. The book was tight between his arms.
Magic, magic?! The insolent whelps! There is no supernatural! There is only us! Just because some are more fortunate to control the vastness of the mind does not quality them for something as idiotic as magic! They are lucky I do not declare war on them all! Everyone would be better without all this foul superstition!
Alixenus wrote:The Sun has begun to set, I would like to call an end to todays sessions with a round of voting. All in favour of the Logipriests returning to their island say I. Xavier was first to vote. Well, maybe not officially, but he voted first all the same.
He stands, trying to control the volatile rage in his voice.
"All of this talk of magic, folly. I have a few 'wizards', yes, but they are simply special. Different is all. Hardly enough to consider supernatural. And with the spies, I tell you this, secret counsel. If you dare set foot a spy in Lucia, I will rip off his genitals and impale him on a spike in the town square. Any spies, from any nation, found in Lucia, will be considered an Act of War, and I tell you this, you will not survive from my wrath. I say Nay, and you will not receive any support from me in repopulating the Logipriest nation, or finding your 'Lich.'"
Xavier sat back down in his chair. He was tired of sitting. He wished to stand. But he could not. There were other people who wished to speak. Other people indeed.
He whispered into the ear of one of his advisors.
"After this is over, could you kindly get the ambassador from the Collective's attention? I am starting to like him. With all his analytical friends and whatnot. I would like to speak with him."

The Collective ambassador spoke up in response to Xavier's speech. "Supernatural or not, the Archnecromancer, or 'Lich', still constitutes a sizable threat. They must at least be scrutinized by the nations, if not put under custody altogether. We therefore are in favor of the 'Lich Hunt', as it is called. As for the point of the Secret Council, we must all make some sacrifices for the peace to be maintained. Some constraints must of course be put on their operating capacity, but that is to be decided later. The logipriests' rights of sovereignty on their nation have no reason not to be recognized, as their stated breeding rate would be enough to repopulate the whole island. We are therefore also in favor of the logipriests' reclaiming of their island. Aye." it said. |

Bojo's feet swung loosely in the air. He was perched precariously on the ledge of the dropship known to his platoon as King Condor. The jungle seemed to almost wisp by in the blue night. A blue moon illuminated the sky. His Mass Driver was strapped snugly on his back, his scrambler pistol to his thigh. A loud buzz rang from the loudspeaker in the dropship. They fell from the sky, six of them. The magnificent blue inertia dampeners glowed over the canopy of the jungle.
Bojo hit the ground and rolled to cover behind a tree. Railgun shots plastered against the trunk. His squad mate nearby fell limp to the ground after taking automatic fire through his neck. The shots ceased. Bojo withdrew his pistol, holding it readily in two hands near his head. *Crack* They were coming.
A soldier in Caldari Heavy armor came to face Bojo. He stared blankly at the tree. His forge gun was anxious. The Heavy looked about, then continued down the jungle, peeking behind trees. 5 Assault class soldiers followed the arrival of the Heavy. One was looking intently at an active scanner. The small troop stopped and watched as the soldier rotated his scanner about the area.
The scanner came to point in the direction of Bojo. The soldier looked up. He clipped the scanner to his belt and withdrew a Nova Knife. He slowly approached the vicinity of Bojo. Now within a meter, Bojo looked face to face at the Caldari Soldier. Bojo's computer brought up the location of his remaining squad mates.
The soldier swung his knife, but it cut into nothing but the tree. Bojo's cloaking device failed though, so in a fast motion, his scrambler pistol came up beneath the enemy's helmet and fired off a piercing shot. A fatal wound and cauterized. The Caldari troop raised their weapons in instinct and fired off hundreds of shots at Bojo, who was sprinting through the trees by now.
His cloaking came back on and he continued his run, circling the troop of wary Caldari. He remained silent, as did the rest of his squad. The Heavy was dead ahead. Before Bojo just about ran over him over, another Squad mate sprinting perpendicular to Bojo's direction, brought a flying kick down upon the helm of the heavy at a velocity of 10 m/s. Bojo ran right by, towards the heart of the Caldari soldiers, who were now pointing their guns in every direction in a panicked frenzy. Bojo came into the moonlight and was spotted by one of the soldiers. He raised his gun but another member of Bojo's Squad deactivated her cloak and swept the weapon away. She followed up with some Jen-Mei Judo and flipped the soldier onto the ground with his own arm. She withdrew her knife and brought it down on the face of the enemy.
By now one had turned to witness the fate of his comrade but was too late. Lasers from Bojo's pistol hit him broad on his shoulder and pierced his neck. He fell to the ground in agony. The rest of Bojo's squad came from the shadows and proceeded to disarm and silently kill the soldiers with some good ol' fashioned fists. Bojo stood still, watching the moonlit choreography of death.
A bright light appeared from the sky.
* * * Bojo awoke, sweat drenched. He was laying down in the cell of a ship. A poster of Sleepy Zan stared down on him. The caption read; Quote:Sleepy Zan wants YOU! Bojo got up off the bed and approached the nearby window. The ship was approaching a monstrous fleet. A frigate was cleanly painted Negative-Feedback Alliance. Bojo looked down onto the sill of the window. A cigar and matchbox was neatly awaiting Bojo.
The looming warships came nearer as smoke billowed from Bojo.
And So Concludes Another Episode Of......Bojo The Mighty! |

OOC: I think we should have systemized faction sheet posts linked to in the index. Here's mine.
We are the 42nd Collective, a mechanical race. We are a relatively small faction, but are advanced beyond our time. We come from a completely artificial realm. Our millitary forces consist of computerized mechs, as do our people, with our infantry consisting of specialized androids. Civilian units of the collective have a degree of artificial intelligence while having a direct relay to the Collective, with most combat units being dependent on the Collective to attain co-ordinartion.
Our Prime Directive: Observe, document and conquer.
Summary: Strengths: Command of highly advanced tech (about on the level of what you'd see in any generic cyberpunk setting) Weaknesses: Any nation with vast tracts of land, magic (in very high quantities). Base Terrain: A completely artificial realm with complex pathways which is highly modernized and under heavy surveillance. Terrain Strengths: Flatlands and plains, modernized areas, anywhere very close to the seat of the Hive Mind. Terrain Weaknesses: Any untamed land, areas with strong magnetic activity, anywhere very far from the Hive Mind. Tech Level: About at the end points of Tier 3. |

I am the leader of a lost race.
Five of us left. I could still feel the judder in my vine as the crack of my father's spine echoed along its length.
Why did I do it? He was possessed. Surely we could've healed him?
Maybe... and this was what scared me. Maybe I was evil.
Maybe I wanted to kill. Enjoyed killing.
As the sun set, bells tolled. The meeting must've finished, or at least a respite was being given. Slowly, Venezzia's night life blossomed in the darkness. I stayed on the roof, silent.
A sound startled me, and I turned to see Natyli sitting down next to me. She put her hand in mine and gazed at the waves, not making a sound either.
I felt ashamed. Guilty. Embarassed. Childish. Her touch reminded me that I was a logipriest. The leader of the logipriests. There was no time where I should feel sorry for myself.
So I crushed my depression, my hesitation. I would take action.
"Let us go."
-
I found Hayde and Layla standing outside the Gallery. I waved them over.
"We must leave."
"What about Conyr?" They asked in unison.
"He stays."
"What?"
"Have you told him anything?"
"What if he gets hurt?"
"Harmed?"
"Killed?"
The twins fired off the questions in unison, one ending a question just as another starts. My head hurt.
"Conyr is destined for things beyond what we influence now."
Natyli dropped from the roof. "And how do you know this?"
I hesitated.
"Truthfully, I don't. But I feel that he has what it takes."
"What it takes to do what?"
"What no one else will."
And with that, I leapt onto the roof, followed by the other three. Under the cover of darkness, we left the city of Venezzia and made our way back to our jungles.

A lot of stressful events had manifested that day...
Out of nowhere, Freedom appeared. He began to speak to Sandromin...
"It seems Fate is trying harder and harder to destroy this world."
"How so? And why may I ask?"
"It's a very complicated story. In summary, Fate loved Lionus. However, Lionus rejected her love and has ultimately conquered death and became Thanatos. In fact, Thanatos will be here quite shortly."
"As odd as that story sounds, at this point, I believe it... However, when you say shortly, what do you mean by shortly?"
"Well, my sense of time is greatly increased compared to yours. I'd say roughly a day though."
"So tomorrow?"
"Yes, in fact, it should be in this spot right here if I have it correct."
"Well then, negotiations should be quite interesting tomorrow."
And with those final words said, Freedom disappeared. |
