Due to the electromagnetic field surrounding DUSTIA at this time, you call in your tank and have the Bolas crash into a mountain before your very eyes. Now you're stuck here with no tanks.

Alixenus wrote:OOC Bad Furry? Frakk! I go on other threads so rarely I forgot that guy even existed. Anywho, Xavier, I'd say your description was pretty damn close to what I imagined, though maybe you want to dial back on the pearls a little bit? Gold weapons on the wall do seem appropriate; I wouldn't have thought of gold myself.
Vyzion, as for your tree question I'm not sure what best suits Venezzia. My first thought was an Oak for the shipbuilding but that tree is decidedly English. Next thought was the Olive, but that thing's really quite weedy. Perhaps a Cypress tree, but as to why, I have no clue. ____________________________________________________________________________________________
Panic flashed across Alixenus' face as Sandromin began speaking. He tried to subtly indicate to the Sandman to briefly disappear. Meanwhile he was still holding a conversation with Xavier. "Grand Liberator, perhaps you didn't hear whilst you were reading that hefty tome, but a technology sharing agreement was already discussed. Around noon I think it was. If the proposal goes through everyone will be sharing their knowledge: you won't need a private alliance for that."
Xavier looked somewhat vexed at this information, but then the collective's ambassador began replaying the conversation in question, which startled all present. Once he realised that the ambassador wasn't possessed or broken, Alixenus walked over to a small mahogany table to refill his Glass.
"Secondly Xavier, my title is Interim Administrator, emphasis on interim. I'm not seizing power nor changing Venezzia's government, I'm just changing who is in power. Politics is a game for the deceitful and greedy, it's on the open seas and city walls where I belong. Can you name even one trait that would make me suitable for running for Doge?" ____________________________________________________________________________________________
At the same time, hastily printed wanted posters were being nailed to the doors of Pubs, to street corners and Herald's posts throughout the city. A tipsy Venezzian butcher, upon exiting the free house turned stumbled across one and paused to read it.
"To the attentions of the people of the City. Wanted: The Green Witch. Responds to the name of Natyli Escaped this evening past from the custody of the City. Hath committed crimes against both the City and our Glorious Republic. May be in the company of other Green men. These are not to be harmed. She is to be brought to the Council complex alive for the reward of ONE TALENT's weight of GOLD"
OOC: In this case a Talent is equivalent to 57lbs.
Sandomin notices Alixenus. Thus, he quietly backs out of the room, making a gesture to the Diyadian ambassador to follow him...
As he is out of the room, he finally speaks, "I think it would be a lot safer to speak in my quarters. There are a lot of people who would like to spy on us and even solicit information from us. Therefore, I think it would be in our best interests to go to my caravan."
OOC: If you want to include those lines that I have in my text, here's how you do it:

Brutus was bored again. He didn't have any idea of what to do. There was nothing to fight, nothing to run from and the only person to talk to was Conyr, who was now asleep in Brutus' arms. Several citizens stared at the green child and some even tried to approach Brutus, but he would growl a threat of "Try anything, and Brutus crush head." This made most of the people leave, how could they not understand that Conyr wasn't this 'green witch'. Brutus didn't really know what to do, Alixenus was probably in a meeting of some kind and didn't want to interrupt. He wasn't really sure where he'd stay, the antechamber was too high class, the inn's smelled of alcohol and lust, and the city itself was dangerous at night. An idea struck him, maybe the sandmen would allow him and Conyr to sleep in the caravan. Brutus was ready to hurry off when he heard some kind of commotion near by, two men were talking, he decided to listen in on the conversation. "...just saying those metal things would fetch us a talent worth of silver at least!" It was a younger man, maybe twenty "Yeah, yeah and soon enough that giant will get knocked out and we can sell him to a circus." Brutus' first thought was, "Brutus better than circus." The second, was that the two men were scum, and the third was that even though the metal men had captured him before, he couldn't let them be sold just because they were metal people. But Brutus was still holding the sleeping the Conyr he couldn't just put him down, and waking him was considered a bad omen. Brutus simply waited and listened to the two men speak of things that men were to talk about, past loves current loves future hopeful loves, money gambling, dirty jokes (with some even installing a low chuckle in Brutus.) and other such things. He kept listening until they finally decided to go on and find a lone metal man. Apparently their was one that was stationed alone to guard the drop ship while the others of the ambassador group were milling about the city in pairs. And with that they were off, with Brutus staying far enough behind them so he could keep an eye on them but close enough so he could still see them. Conyr stirred a few times, but never woke. And soon enough the two men were within the perimeter of the ship. Hiding away with Brutus also hidden, but less effectively. They spoke amongst themselves, until one drew a strange sword. It wasn't steel, nor iron, and Brutus felt the pull of the world from the sword. It wasn't even bladed it was more of a baton, Brutus heard the words "...off of some sand freak." "Magnetic? That kill it for sure." The metal man stopped suddenly and issued a command in a metallic voice. "Who's there? Show yourself!" It was at this point the two men jumped from their hiding and made a headlong dash toward the machine man, when the distance was half, Brutus emerged and shouted , waking Conyr up and stopping the two men in their stride. "It's the damn giant!" "Sumbitch! Run the machine ain't worth fighting that." And with that the cowards ran. Brutus walked slowly to the metal man now with Conyr awake and yawning in his shoulder. "Is metal man alright?" Even though Brutus disliked the metal men of the collective, he would still help if they needed it. |

Galrick M'kron wrote:The Collective ambassador politely interrupted. "We have no experience augmenting organic life, and as it is, technology does not bring a perfect world." it said, reluctant to go through with what Xavier was saying. Xavier frowned. Not that, parental frown. The frown that you notice when you have done something wrong. But a puzzled, perplexed frown. He was quite surprised, to be honest. Surprised that the Collective did not have that technology, but even more-so, that no-one wanted to talk to him. No-one wished to share his hope in the world. No-one wished to speak philosophy. No-one. He was, alone. No matter how he tried to break away, even if this was just a plan to get information, he was, alone.
Sandromin Hes wrote:"Ahh yes, the Diyadians. So, what is the topic to discuss right now? It seems events are going to be taking a drastic change by tomorrow, so it's a fairly important time to be discussing things," Sandromin stated with a certain fervor in his voice.
Sandromin continued, "As it is right now, I have received some interesting news, and it seems Lionus, who now goes by Thanatos, will be arriving tomorrow. Furthermore, there are quite a few matters to discuss. It seems Fate will be stoking the flames even more... her grand plan will unfold before our very eyes." Rage flashed on Xavier's face. It was not fueled by the lie; that Alixenus refused to tell him that he was alive. Refused to say that there was a meeting. Disappointing at best, but no. It was the mere mentioning of Thanatos. The name boiled his blood. He hated him. But he did not understand why. Maybe because he was looked up to? He was important. More important then he. Or maybe, the Diyadians loved their King? More then then Xavier's people their Liberator. They loved him. They believed in the man. The evil, wrenched king, the one who fights the impossible; the one who cheats death. And that gnaws at Xavier. Both the reasons do.
Alixenus gave a panicked, fearful look. A look that you only see when you kick as dog, or watch it be kicked. That pitiful look; it tells you that it has lost.
He brushed Sandromin away. Told him to go to the hall. Along with the man accompanying him.
He wore a long robe, colored in the most pure teal one could imagine. White stripes adored the front and back of the robe in a vertical direction. You could not tell what it was made of, but Xavier guessed it was silk.
It was the 'secret ambassador.'
Alixenus tried to continue the conversation, even though it was going quite poorly, trying to state that he was not the doge, but something entirely different. But, the words went though Xavier. He did not listen, for he no longer cared. He saddened even more. He was lied to. That normally did not bother him, but this was different. He was lied to by a man at his same level. At his same status. A man he began to trust. Both of them. Sandromin and Alixenus. They tried to hide this from him. They failed. The respect was gone. And they could never get it back.
Xavier finally began to speak:
"You lied to me, do you know that? You disrespected me. You refused to tell me that something is going on. Something that affects my nation. Do you know how that feels? To feel betrayed? Betrayed by an equal? Betrayed by a man has, had, honor? That happened to me once in my life, when I was fighting for my clan. A friend... pulled a knife to me when I slept. Heh. I always complained the the floors creaked. If it was not for that, I would not be here right now. Needless to say I killed him. Killed him in a struggle. But you have to do what you need to do to survive. I forgive him. But I do not respect him."
Xavier walks to the door in disgust.
"I do not respect you anymore, Alixenus. Any honor you had, gone. But do not think I am gone, gone forever. I will be back. I will see you tomorrow. I will see Sandromin too. And I will see that pitiful worm, the one who calls himself Thanatos. I deserve that."
And with that, he walks out the that twisted, twisted room, where many disappointments have arisen, and may possibly stay. |

The robot that had nearly fallen prey to the magnetic baton looked up at Brutus. "Thank you." it said with some surprise. "You're one of the delegates, right?" it continued, faintly recognizing the giant. |

Arriving at Sandromin's caravan on horseback he immeadiately vented his frustration at the representative from Diyad.
"I am tired, I have been drinking and I have had to sit in a room with politicians all day. Then, just to make things worse, your precious meeting may well have cost Venezzia it's friendship with the Dwarves. Whatever you have to say had better be worth it. Well? Out with it!" |

At first the ambassador stares at Alixenus in the most nonchalant manner. Then after scratching his reddish brown beard, the ambassador, Achyr Solaran speaks:
"Calm yourself. We will try our best to settle things with the dwarf. I understand that the Lich Hunt was only approved today, but you could consider this a strong start. There's no doubt about it. When I took the stage my blood ran cold and my beard felt like it was vibrating. Let me just go ahead and say this. One of the nations is in possession of some powerful, vile magicks. I have no idea who or what it is, but everyone is suspect. But we needn't discuss this with the other nations. We must avoid hostility at all cost. What say you?"
Meanwhile as he storms outside, Xavier is met by another member of the secret council. He is old and balding, his silver hair only cover the sides and back of his head. The man begins to walk along side him.
"My sincerest apologies friend. Please forgive Alixenus. He was only acting under threat of war. You see many Diyadians are outraged after many soldiers who were sent to protect the Sandmen and Venezzians, suddenly disappeared without any remains. Or at least that is what he is meant to believe. It is simple. We allolw the Lich Hunt to continue. Whoever it is will only retaliate if we openly state this tomorrow. The nations who have approved it will be monitored. If we sense no magick after 6 months, we withdraw. This will narrow it down and based on our findings we'll be able point out the most likely suspect. |

We wanted to discuss this with you before the second day of the Assembly. I am here to present you with a deal. Are you interested? Xavier smiled. It was quite funny that he, a dwarf, was taller than a man! Ha! How special that Xavier is, to tower over a human, when the usual dwarf would have to look up!
Manipulation. That is the only word. Manipulation. He is not to be trusted. He heard what I said. He heard my dreams of technology. He is trying to befriend me. Trying to stab me in the back! But, I must go. This meeting I will attend. I will see the wretched scum that lied to me, betrayed me. Deceived me.
But a realization came to Xavier. No, not a realization, but a thought in the back of his head. A thought that said:
Why are you this paranoid? You are not like this. Even since you got that book you've changed, Xavier, you've changed.
But it disappeared in an instant. Surely his sweet darling could not do this? It was unconceivable to Xavier. But now, Xavier looks at the book, and asks if this was possible, that the book has made him mad, or, that this is him all along. That this is the way he always acted, but never noticed. At this rate, he will never know.
He finally speaks to the balded man, playing the game he has set up for him.
"A deal, comrade? What could you possible present, that the Collective could not have, hmm? Something that benefits both of us? An aeroship that goes beyond the stars? Why would you give me that? Or that one contraption that killed all of my men? Better kill a thousand more!"
He stops, and looks at the man, looks dead into his cold, beady eyes. The eyes that hunger for power. The eyes that call for the callous disregard for human life. This is what Xavier saw. A monster. A pure monster.
"Let me ask you a question, yes? Do you think that I trust you? Believe you? That I think that you won't stab me in the back as I turn around? I admire the techniques you used; flattery is the main one. Making me feel important. Quite clever. I see you learned it from your... undead king. But please, tell me what you have to offer. I will play this little game." |

But a short way from his manor, Alixenus passed through a small clearing; an accident in the road layout that created a square of sorts. Halfway through the wind picked up and he detected the smell of...her. Alixenus reined his horse to a halt. He knew it was Natyli, her perfume was unique for some reason. The other Logipriests were likely nearby, but he didn't care about them.
"I know you are here, but tonight I will not pursue you. If you want to get out of Venezzia, I'd recommend you depart by tomorrow night." Without pausing to see if there was a response, Alixenus continued his ride home. |

As Argus summoned more sandmen to unearth this object he found in the desert, it seemed that something completely foreign would be unearthed. And indeed, the object unearthed was of a nature that no sandman had seen.
The more they unearthed, the more they found. Soon, it turned into a full-on excavation. It seemed they had discovered a temple of an ancient race. By design, the temple aligned with the architecture of the former Thousand Year Empire, led by the Septalos family.
However, that was only the surroundings; as they unearthed the building more, they found that the temple only composed the outside of the entire complex. Soon, they managed to go past the door, and the excavation team found an entirely new building. As they translated the writings on the outside of this fortress building, they found that the fortress-city was the ancient city of Bal-Amud Ur.
Bal-Amud Ur was a fabled city; it was of the ancient Doric Race. The Doric people were said to have been touched by Fate herself, and their technology was evidence of this fact. In the ruins, they found numerous archives and plenty of records from throughout the years. They found technology that was more advanced than theirs; it could have possibly even been on par with the collective's!
But some thoughts were gnawing on the minds of the archaeologists... Why did the Dorics decline and ultimately go extinct? Why had the Empire hidden and maintained the city under such secrecy?
As they explored, they soon found that the Dorics had gone mad. There was evidence throughout the city that they had gone insane; their people had suffered madness. The mystery was why. The excavation team delved further and further into the city. They sought answers. |

OOC: I'm seriously laughing at my own post. The irony towards the end kills me every time I read it! Xavier thought for a moment. Did they truly know not of the King? Were they still part of his ruse?
His book thumped at his side. Almost as if it was calling out to him. It made him angry. Angry at the world. At Thanatos. At the bastards that lied.
But then it stopped. It stopped, for he told himself that it was the book. The book was influencing his emotions. The scene in the anti-chamber? He would had most likely kept his composure. But no. The book was making him, bi-polar. Or something of the like. And he realized this. The book could fool him no longer. So it stopped. Because it knew he would leave it if it kept on. And no. It could not have that.
The book... the book will consume me. Lie to me. This book... is dangerous. Completely dangerous. But I will keep hold of it. To find out what it holds, and how to tame it.
Xavier smiled a hearty smile.
"Well, then! I am quite surprised, comrade! I am starting to like you! I do apologize, I should not have said all that to you. Things have been very stressful lately, with all these talks and politics. I hope you understand."
Xavier continuous to walk besides the aging man. They are moving ever so close to the auditorium.
"But enough with that. I am interested to what you have to say. Would you like to talk at the pub? I heard they make some fine Port."

GREETINGS, COLLECTIVE. IF YOU CAN READ THIS MESSAGE, YOU HAVE REACHED OUR LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGY. SADLY, IF YOU HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO DO THIS, WE HAVE GONE EXTINCT. YOUR RACE WAS CREATED BOTH AS A DOCUMENTING TOOL, A DATABASE OF KNOWLEDGE, AND A SOCIAL EXPERIMENT. AN AI GENERATION PROGRAM WAS CRAFTED BY OUR FINEST PROGRAMMERS TO CREATE UNIQUE AI FILES FOR EVERY UNIT. IT IS INADVISABLE TO MODIFY THESE. IF YOU GOT THE REST OF THE TRANSMISSION, IT SHOULD CONTAIN ALL THE KNOWLEDGE OUR NATION HAD AT THE TIME OF THIS WRITING.
Within the transmission were thousands upon thousands of files on technology, science, the humanities and everything else. Even the Hive Mind could scarcely make sense out of all of it. It would take a long time to figure it all out...

Brutus was walking in the city, bored with Conyr sitting on his shoulder. His young companion looked tired. "Conyr want to sleep?" The giant hadn't needed to sleep in years, he forgot that humans and logipriest still needed to. Conyr yawned and nodded his head. Maybe the Sandman had some beds open. And maybe Brutus could meet these Diyadians that everyone was talking about, or officially meet them he supposed. They seemed well enough and the young ambasador had the look of a warrior, the world needed that now more than ever, a war was brewing, not between nations but between life and death itself. The world was wounded and needed medicine. He knew of the AN as they called it, and as powerful as the nations were together, he knew that failure was very likely. And as grim as it sounded Brutus had first handedly seen a nation full of strong warriors, and even technology that was even greater than the collectives was crushed. All of that was lost in a single night. For all Brutus knew every one was dead, even the people he had saved that day, and each year away from his old home, which was five now, he would loss hope. hope that anything alive roamed his lands. He knew that the feral's, as they were called. The one's who were dead and alive at the same time, similar to how the logipriest had been, but with no hope for their life to be regained. The only cure was their destruction. "Brutus? Can we go now?" Brutus had been a standing around while he was thinking. "Brutus just thinking. Sorry Conyr." Conyr smiled sleepily at the giant. Brutus began his trek to the anti-chamber, hopefully he would find one of the ambassadors, either Sandromin, the Diyadian, the collective ambassador or Alixenus, but not the dwarf. He didn't like the dwarf. |

Conyr was confused. He had just woken up, why did he feel so tired? The exhaustion was overwhelming, and the slow, rolling motion of Brutus' stride slowly lulled his eyelids closed... and he drifted...
Conyr opened his eyes. He was standing in his home jungle. He looked around and realised there was something different. Everything seemed brighter and tinged with gold; the edges were blurred.
Out of the bushes came the remaining four Logipriests.
Conyr realised, he was dreaming with them. The Great Dream.
-
I looked at Conyr and smiled.
"Hello, boy."
Conyr looked up defiantly.
"I'm not a boy. You guys left me."
"We had to leave. You must remain with the giant. The world will change; you will witness the changes. You are removed from the swirling hurricane of deceit, lies, broken promises and misplaced trust, politics and economics, hatred and anger. Only you will see clearly through the fog."
"What about you guys? The logipriests were never involved in anything like that."
This time, Hayde and Layla spoke together, one finishing a sentence as the other began the next.
"We have grown, though. We have experienced. We have lived our lives. We have been tainted by the world."
"But you know this, you're telling me this. Why can't you change?"
The Great Dream was breaking apart. Such discussions were never meant to take place in its realm; this was where the Logipriests came to celebrate, to hope.
Natyli looked sadly at Conyr.
"Because, dear Conyr, we have been tainted by the world and we love it. This is our home, and we will never want to separate ourselves from it. The wars, calamities, crises, they are all painful. But there is always redemption. Always. This redemption is what we've grown to wonder at, to marvel at. It is awesome in its restorative power. This type of healing, this complete healing of the wounds of the mind, is something that escapes us. We are indeed cursed and blessed to have such a world."
"Are... are you four going home?"
I watched the dream blur as we said our indirect farewells; I could no longer see any detail clearly. I did not know whether it was because the Great Dream was not able to sustain itself, or if the tears in my eyes clouded my vision.
"Home? Our home is here in Dustia. We are already home. No, we are leaving home, boy."
"And I suppose you won't be back."
It wasn't a question, it wasn't laced with disappointment, sadness, regret, anger. It was a statement, pure, hard, fact.
A blaze of pride warmed my heart. He was stronger than me, I realised. He would be the last of our race, and the world will remember us by his actions.
I think he'll do well.
"No, boy. We won't be back. Not in your lifetime."
"Are you my father?"
I stared at him, then turned to Natyli. There were tears pouring down her eyes now. She nodded. I turned back.
I opened my mouth-
And the Great Dream collapsed, shattered into a thousand pieces, and all five Logipriests awoke refreshed.
-
I led the three others down into the great cold room, the place where we found the miraculous chocolate. It seemed like decades ago that we had excavated this area. The whole chamber was built with ice, great pillars of frozen water soaring high up, holding up the earth that held up our jungle. Icy shelves dug into the frozen walls were empty; that was where the chocolate was stored.
I led my companions further into the chamber, until we reached the middle. A giant hole burrowed straight down into the ground, with a narrow spiralling staircase descending into it, made of slippery ice, hugging the edges. Before we had time to explore this strange pit, the darkness had taken us and we became logizombies.
I started walking down carefully, and behind me I heard my three friends step onto the steps as well. The darkness swallowed us.
-
Conyr stared at the clouds, which seemed bigger than usual. Then again, he had the height advantage of being on Brutus.
I am the last Logipriest.

I am Xavier, the Grand Liberator of Lucia, but you already knew that. But let us be off to the pub!"
When they arrived at the stone pub, it was quite busy. People were flowing in and out like schools of fish, and all were dressed in multicolored clothes from every spectrum of color. From blue, to purple, to even black.
There was not even a glance at the two, even with Halvedes being in his silk robes and Xavier in his armor. Must were young folk, however, so they both assumed they did not care.
The pub was a gray stone color, taking it from the material it was made out of. There were strange animal heads on the walls. Bottles of Port and Whiskey lined the back shelf.
Xavier searched for two seats, for him and his guest, may it be. After he found some, he motioned Halvedes to sit. The seats were surprisingly quite soft for they being made of stone. He ordered two glasses of Port.
"Lovely place, isn't it? To tell you the truth I have not been to a place like this. The people bother me to much. I'm hard to miss, seeing that I am much taller then the average dwarf. But please, enough about me, please tell me a bit about yourself." |

Brutus had finally made it to the anti-chamber. And for once he was actually tired. The past few encounters he had were enough for a year. The giant yawned. "Brutus, tired. Think sleep now." Conyr hoped off his shoulder. The giant looked happy."Conyr protect Brutus while he sleep. Okay?" Conyr smiled at that, which made Brutus even happier. Conyr may have been raised without a father before, but now Conyr was a son and friend to Brutus, and he would protect him with his life. "Conyr and Brutus family now. Help each other." He pay the logipriest gently on his shoulder, and not just gentle for a giant either. It was as a father would when he was proud of his son. The giant went over to one of the corners of the room collecting pillows which he threw into the corner to make a bed large enough to sleep in. And with that he fell upon his makeshift bed and slept for the first real time in years, not knocked unconscious, or to hurt to continue on, but actual resting sleep. And Brutus dreamed. He dreamed of many things the first time he had held his son and daughter in his arms, the first time he had met his wife. Times when he and his brothers were young and had gotten in trouble, Endrik was the usual cause. With Brutus himself being a close second. But Draven, the middle child was obedient. But not every dream was joyous. The fall of his nation flickered in between each memory become more and more clear with each flicker, friends he had know for years died in front of him, other protectors dying as they were swarmed by feral's, children crying and then abruptly being cut off...those were the worst of all, the children...so full of life and then in an instant... The candle of life flickered out. And there had been Brutus standing side by side with his brother Draven, when he was still able to speak without any problem. Brutus still remembered it, the conversation he had with his brother. "Draven we're losing ground! Our brothers and sisters are dying!" As soon as a he had finished talking a feral, a young child missing his face jumped at the giant, snarling like some kind of animal. Draven cut it in two with his sword. "We can't leave yet brother! Endrik and Ereka are coming, we can't leave them!" More feral poured out of a collapse building, it was a church of the united once, a place of sanctuary, no a tomb for many. Brutus and Draven fought off the feral's it seemed like hundreds and hundreds were pouring from the church but that was the dream, it had only been around thirty or so. But the brothers fought still, Draven swinging his sword wildly and Brutus crushing anything coming within his reach. They fought and fought and it seemed they would die there, until a giant of eighteen feet crashed through the church wall with another female of seven feet tall behind it. "Endrik here! Brothers need go now!" The enormous giant landed on several hapless ferals. The female, Endrik's twin sister Ereka was right behind her womb brother. "Endrik's right, we can't hold here for long, the city is falling around us and if we stay we'll all die." As always Ereka was right. "Where is my wife and children sister!? I will not leave without them!" Brutus was adamant, his siblings had seen this defiance growing up, they knew he wouldn't move, but they were prepared for this, crawling through what was left of the church a young man of eighteen was helping his mother through the wreckage, and a young girl of eight followed behind. The man was six and one half foot tall, his heritage showing in his physique. And although none of the pyres family were born giants they were made protectors, artificial giants in an attempt to ready the nation for a prophecy, that seemed to be happening around them. "Helion! Heliana, Herana! Thank god you're all safe" Brutus ran to his family and hugged them all, his daughter, herana was crying, she had a stuffed doll her brother had made for her clutched to her. "Papa...I'm scared, I-I want to go home!" His daughter began to sob and she hugged her father. Brutus removed his helmet and kissed his daughter on the fore head. Then his son spoke strong and defiant like his father. "The city is crawling with these abominations father, we need to move now before we are..." His son stopped as he looked at his frightened sister, he stepped closer to his father and whispered. "We have to move now, I saw a, I don't know, herd of them moving this way." It was at that moment the family agreed to start moving. They were still well within the city walls, it would take at least an hour to get out. They walked and hid and Draven and helion, who was holding an axe he had found from off of a dead protector, would kill when they had too, Brutus clung to his daughter, not letting her see the horrors of people killing and eating each other. Brutus wife stayed close to her husband. Whispering to her duaghter hymes of their church and humming lullabies. They had almost made it, when out of no where hundreds actual hundred of feral's swarmed them, they see shouting for each other. Swinging around except for Brutus who clung to his screaming daughter and wife, he would not let them be taken from him, his son found his way to his and they seemed to be almost done, until something horrible appeared... A feral protector, it crashed through the humans and knocked Brutus to the ground, his daughter fell, his wife screamed and his son...his beautiful brave son stood his ground. So defiant like his father, so strong like his mother...but he wouldn't strike the dead protector down, no. No no no.in a single...horrifying swing the axe wielding giant cleaved his son in two, Brutus screamed, but he couldn't hear. He began to rush forward, but it was to late he was being dragged down by the feral's. He was consumed with rage So much he had blacked out...and when he had awoken... His family was dead, his son and wife had been devoured, and all that was left of his daughter was a stuffed animal. |
