Vektor chuckles at the Engineer's response.
"You are very much over complicating this. Well... it is kind of tricky to explain, so I'll be blunt. Iyo is a living energy. It doesn't appear to be completely sentient. From what we have gathered, it is everywhere. If there is life, there is iyo. However it is very scattered. This is why alkhemists carry around boxes of it. If it isn't concentrated it is virtually useless. As of yet the only known concentrated source is located here in Diyad. Deep below the surface. It seems to demonstrate symbiotic qualities. A host, in this case, an alkhemist is strengthened. At the same time interacting with a host allows iyo to, adapt, to evolve in some way. Even we do not fully understand this yet. Ito was our own way of manually evolving iyo. Like I stated before it is highly volatile to organics as of now. So to answer your question, with the amount of ito we have given you, your vessel should be able to travel to nearby solar systems at tremendous speeds. You see it isn't a fuel. When it is used the energy doesn't go away. It is just scattered across spaces and what not. With our advancing technology we have been able to slow down the rate at which this occurs. If we are lucky by the time your project is finished we will have discovered a way to synthesize ito from surrounding pockets of iyo. But enough talk for now, I fear that we must leave the laboratory."
Worry traces the wrinkles throughout his face, as Vektor stares out of the nearby window at the oncoming storm...
The Snake of Illusion has awakened...
A handsome looking couple, fresh off of the balloon approaches a nearby vendor. So young, so full of life and curiosity. After disappointed looks are exchanged between the two, they move on to the next. This goes on for a couple stops until the woman, a buxom blonde in a crimson dress with a pearl necklace stops at a nearby bench.
"This has to be the one James! It is freezing. They should have a nice fur coat at this one.."
The man reluctantly trudges yonder in search of a black coat for his shivering fiancee. The fog is thick and after 12 or so metres he can hardly see her. Especially the man approaching her in a lavish white suit, that blends ever so perfectly with the fog. A vendor in the distance can faintly be heard screaming at the door of his shoppe.
" Why, what is a woman like you doing out here in the cold." Hook, a few words and she has already gained interest in him. " I'm waiting for my.. friend. He is over there buying me a coat. He tries ever so hard to get me what I want, but honestly he doesn't know. The man bears a devilish grin, and seemingly out of thin air pulls a black fur coat, that he places around her shoulders. " I truly do understand m'lady. Take this, as a token of our mutual understanding. I know what it's like to yearn for something else. Adventure and intrigue..." Line, she eagerly responds." It- it's like you read my thoughts completely. I feel this way also. Money is no object to us, I mean this necklace here is enough to buy us a large estate. James gave it to me. His father was a renowned landowner and when he passed, James inherited a portion of his fortune. I love him for his generosity, and his willingness to give everything to me, but James can be boring, he doesn't yearn to see the world like I do. by the way, what is this coat made of? It is so soft and comfortable." "Black sabre fur, very rare indeed, I came across it on my travels abroad. You see I was born in an island far east, known for its ships. My father was also renowned in his line of work. I received his greatest work. A magnificent ivory vessel. I've seen the world, and now I feel accomplished. I would hate for you to suffer the fate of not achieving your dreams. James, he is your friend that you spoke of. You can leave him. I can take you anywhere." Before she could shake away her blush, the man pulls her close and kisses her. His hands wrapped around her back up to her shoulders. Sunk, when she finally opens her eyes she feels the guilt of her actions wash over her. She quickly pulls away. "I- I am truly sorry to have misled you, I could not possibly abandon James, he is my fiancee and nonetheless I love him." He grabs her hand reassuringly, maintaining eye contact all throughout. " No, m'lady I apologize, I knew who he was to you. It was apparent by your diamond ring. I never thought I could be so starstruck by one's beauty, and I foolishly indulged in my personal desire. It was disrespectful. I should be going." Out of guilt she reluctantly returned the coat, and he walked off into the distance. He just so happens to accidentally brush by James. Moments later the woman could hear her fiancee approach from the distance, shame smothers his face. "I'm... horrible. I lost my wallet and my coin purse. I have no money. How could this happen to m--- where are your pearls...and your ring? The vendor can be heard in the distance, " I swear it was an ACTUAL black sabre coat! You must believe me!"
The Snake of Illusion would prey on others that day. None could notice his sleight of hand swiftly taking any valuable belonging. That poor couple, they should be honored they were merely entertainment, a warm up. The true victims never even see his shadow.
Welcome to Gran Arcadia. You own nothing here...
BOOM. Later in the day, when the Snake was finished, there was a new commotion. The usual sound of wealthy men robbed of their riches was now replaced by an alarm, as a giant has been terrorizing the town with a runaway criminal on his back. Brutus happened to jump in a dark alley in the Slums. Even the Briggs wouldn't follow him to this cesspool giant or not. The tremor of his massive landing causes a portly man to fall to the ground. He had greasy black hair and a stylish moustache. The man didn't seem too surprised to see a giant, more the companion he had brought along...

The Engineer seemed a bit bemused at Vektor's explanation. "Endless energy? That would violate a fundamental physics law. If it has proven to work, though, we might as well use it. I'll call the building team to scrap the construction of fusion reactors." he said, briefly standing still to send a message. "We thank you for your gift." he said, giving a bow of respect. "What do you ask of us in return?" Galrick continued. |

As Xavier went unconscious, Sandromin stood, staring blankly in that direction. Speechless, he just stood in shock. He saw it all with his vision. It was sensory overload for his new eyes. But at that moment, Sandromin awoke from the pseudosleep and spoke about the events.
"That was... interesting. My eyes, they have seen, and it was astounding. I need to tame this new ability of mine. Therefore, Nerzul, I think it would be best for you to accompany us, as I need training, and we need a helping hand. It is imperative we begin our journey soon everyone. We must not tarry, for there is much work at hand. Let us go as quickly as we can to my homeland, Arteum, jewel of the deserts."
With that Sandromin motioned for his bodygaurd Kanders to follow him to his chambers. It was time to prepare for the journey; there would be much fighting at hand soon. |

And Sara is under my protection. Not snake." Brutus helped the fat man up off of the ground. The giant was not able to get a good look at the new man while in the alley. |

Franklin led the two to a small building. It looked nearly abandoned. From what Brutus can tell it only looked a little better on the inside.
"You know where it is Sara,"he gestured her to walk in."
Brutus reluctantly let her down from his shoulders. She hurriedly ran inside. Franklin's smile broke the moment she was out of sight.
"You should not have brought that girl here. I was serious. There are people in the city who want her, for unknown reasons. The Snake of Illusion has worked very hard to protect her. To keep her down on the surface. The next transport doesn't arrive until tomorrow morning. And it's very hard to find a place to hide a giant on a floating city. The Snake of Illusion will not be pleased." |

Grim sat in a dark bar tent at a table with several other men. A game of 'finger fillet' was being played for a sizable amount of money. A man by the name of Sloan was up going rather slow by Grim's standards. This still however was rather fast, and the faint of heart would have fainted long ago. Grim was bored of the lack of blood that stained the table. Until Sloan slipped up and took of his thumb nail. A red strand of tendon was still attached to the nub. Sloan fell back screaming like a child holding his nubby thumb. A few men threw up, and a few turned. Grim smiled under the heavy hood he had. Now he could make two things of money. "OH GODS! OH GODS! MY THUMB, OH GOOOOOOOOOOODS!" Grim, in a calm disturbing manner stood up sainted across the table, grabbing the severed thumb as he walked by. "Would you like me to re attach it?" "OH PLEASE, MY THUMB! PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE!" Sloan reached for the nibblet with his bloody hand. Grim moved his own hand away shaking his head and tsking, "It'll cost you. 100 should do it." Sloan knew what grim wanted. "FINE, TAKE YOUR MONEY YOU DAMNED CROAKER!" 'Croaker' the term used for ranger medics. Grim hated it. "Bad choice of words." Grim kicked Sloan's hand, then pinned it to the ground. The cry of the man was musical to Grim's ears. He twisted his boot in the ground. "200, did you hear that Sloan?" the man was crying now. In between gasps of air he agreed. Grim smiled. He took out the supplies needed for reattachment. And got to work. It took a record time of tenish minutes. After grim was done he sat down at the table, a few men looked disgusted and a few looked impressed. Grim didn't care. "Now. Is it my turn?" Grim grabbed the bloodied knife two inch across from him and spun it in his hands, and in the same fluid motion started stabbing the table going in between each pair of fingers. Faster than humanly normal. So fast it was almost blinding as the blade flashed with light. He finished his turn in under three minutes. And when he was done he slammed the knife so deep into the table that only an inch and the hilt could be seen. The men around the tab,e stared at grim. Terrified and awestruck. "I'll take my payment now. Please." "You ain't get tin' nufink croaker." It was one of Sloan's boys. Grim's happy mood quickly diminished. Some one had run off and gotten three of the biggest meanest looking thugs around. "Hello there. I was just about to leave." "You ain't getting no where's croaker. " "I don't like that name you know." The thug looked at grim. He took a step closer and pushed his shoulder. "What name is day den? Croaker?" "Yes that one." "What you gone do 'bout it?" Grim's happy mood came back. "Oh. I don't know. This maybe." Grim slammed his fist into the knee of the thug so hard that a loud pop and crack sounded. A scream of pain erupted from the thug as he began to fall. "Or maybe this." Grim grabbed the thug by his shoulder with one hand and the elbow by the other. He pushed hard on the elbow until it bent in the wrong direction. Another scream. "Oh, wait I know! I'll do this!" Grim grabbed the back of the thugs. Head and slammed his teeth into the table. The crunch of bone sounded so sweet to grim. Grim let the man go and stood up. The thug was broken slouched on the table only resting there because his pallet kept him up. "Grim began to mock the thug. "I fink dare ish sum fink mission' frum yer mouth friend. And her arm look might broke. You fink you need a doc?" Grim finished with a brutal joy. He loved making these thugs days bad. He would never do this to a regular person. No, he was a doctor. But he was also a ranger which meant he had to protect the weak. And right now he was doing that. Brutality and efficiently. He was sending messages. And this one was. 'You shouldn't have killed my family.' |

Nexhawk raised his eyebrows as he heard Sandromin mention Arteum. But then he remembered Cenizar's descriptions of the map he's been given. Arteum is just on our way to the island of Logipriests, isn't it?
He followed the Sandman at a quick pace, the former Dark Arcanum, forgotten, still in his hand. "I will accompany you to your kingdom, Sandromin. But, when we've done whatever is necessary there, I would like to ask you and everyone else who so desires," he turned his gaze to the rest of the rulers for a moment, "to travel with me to search for the second Eye. It is in my firm beliefs that whatever plans you have, the Eyes will help immeasurably." |

Because we enjoy this. At this point it's less of a game than it is just fun. It's a great distraction, when I'm not playing Dust, or some other game. It doesn't really get boring either. I mean believe me this isn't some best selling literary work (at least my writing isn't that great), but we're just a group of people who enjoy making a story that is our own. In honor of Dust of course. Now seriously though, can you please stop? |

"What on earth..?" Galrick said as he turned around, seeing the storm. His optics gauged the wind's speed at something enough to shake a building of this make quite badly. Still, he did not understand Vektor's exaggerated reaction. "You look as if you've seen a ghost. What's so bad about the storm?" he asked. |

Brutus stared at Franklin. He knew the fat man was right. His armor was getting old, and beaten with his battles. He hadn't the slightest idea of what to do and now he was being talked down by a sleazy fat man. "Franklin right." The giants statement seemed to shock Franklin. "Wait. What?" "Franklin right. Brutus is wrong. Couldn't save family. How can Brutus save Sara?" The sudden sadness was un characteristic to the giant and even Franklin, newly acquainted with Brutus knew this. The giant stretched in the building and yawned. Not out of need of sleep but out of boredom. "Franklin." The fat man turned to the giant. "If Brutus leaves, will Sara be safe?" The giant looked to the fat man. Curiosity and sadness were in his eyes as he waited for an answer. |
