[OOC]Vyzion, Sandromin, Nexhawk, Brutus, Galrick, and all the others who are writing in this thread, please report all those who are spamming our thread about slurs of 'bacon' and how our grandiose thread must die.
It will not die. End of that story.
Again, report those posts. Eventually a Mod will take notice and clean up all the mess.
I will respond when Xavier officially is placed in a hospitable bed. He is unconscious, and possibly needs medical attention.[/OOC} |

OOC: Y'know, this place was where I made my first post. Everywhere else in the forums was too intimidating and dark when I first set foot here. Speaking as fairly experienced forum and/or keyboard warrior, yet I was still scared to post. That feeling that I was scrutinised, assessed, analysed, that I wouldn't be noticed, that I'd just make a fool of myself paralysed me before I'd hit the post button, and I'd cancel the post instead.
But when I found this budding thread, with Alixenus' and Sandy's valiant beginnings, I found the light in this darkness. This is where we take dust and mould it into life; and no amount of thread derailing can take that from us.
FOR DUSTIA! ('cause who needs Aslan (sorry Aslan, I love you. PLEASE DON'T BAN ME FROM GOING TO NARNIA WHEN I DIE)). |

OOC: Between family watching TV, EVE and games that have an ending I just haven't had time for Dust. But I'll get back there, eventually. Also Thanatos, leave the Bacon out of this, I will not have my artistic opus sullied! _______________________________________________________________________________________
As Xavier's limp form was carried away into the City, Alixenus turned and regarded Nexhawk and Thanatos as they discussed the matter of the book. Sandromin looked on, pondering the events of the last few moments. Sensing that the situation had been resolved amicably Alixenus approached Thanatos again.
"My friend, now that this matter has been dealt with, perhaps I could request one thing from you. It would be a small thing for you to grant, but it is of great significance to both myself and Brutus. You see, I swore to him that in return for his help I would put Venezzia's might at his disposal to help save his people from the evil that had befallen them. I realise Fate is the gravest threat that we will ever face and that you need me by your side if we are to succeed, but my honour won't let me forget the Oath I made to Brutus. What say you?" ___________________________________________________________________________________ OOC: Lol, It's like ME2 all over again. Let me go on my loyalty mission Thanatos! |

(Ooc) must keep thread alive!(ooc)
Grandis stood over his opponent, blood flowed from the unconscience man's face. Grandis also bloody and bruised was victorious. A crowd of drunken gamblers cheered, booed, cursed and exclaimed all around Grandis. He had made some men rich tonight. Two men came into the blooded circle and dragged his opponent out of it. Grandis hoped the man was still alive. Fights did not uncommonly end in a death, crippling, or the destruction of a mans will through the sheer force of blows. Luckily, the man was still alive, but he would have quite the hangover when he awoke. Grandis however had to deal with his pain while still awake and sober. Of course Grandis never drank anyways it took to long for the six foot eight inch tall man. And he was still young, at twenty Grandis was a prime example of the giants blood that still flowed through the men of his dead country. He was strong, tall and on and on the accounts of many women, handsome. Grandis turned and walked out of the ring, men parting as the blooded fighter strode away. Grandis walked up to the man who gave him his pay. A sack of coins not a pouch given to him by the rangers but a sizable burlap sack. "Have a good day Rat." Grandis said to the little rodent like man. "You too Grandis. There's another fight tonight if you wanna join." "No I'm fine. But thank you." Grandis walked away to the locker he kept his cloak, axe, mace, boots, socks, under shirt, over shirt, chain mail, vambraces and satchel in. Putting his clothes that he wasn't wearing and his weapons on his person, Grandis strode out of the tent. Rain greeted him. Big, fat rain that fell everywhere. Hardly anyone was around. Many hunters scurried about. The brother branch of soldiers to the rangers. A friendly rivalry was between the two factions. The camouflaged brown and green cloaks of the forest troopers were thoroughly soaked. Grandis smirked as one of the hunters stopped and looked at the tall ranger. "Grandis! My brother!" The hunter beamed as his companions hurried off. Grandis returned the greeting. "Hectaris! How are you?" Grandis embraced his older and only brother who stood even taller than Grandis. "I live still so, well I suppose. You just came from the pits didn't you?" Grandis kicked a rock by his foot and looked down ashamed, like a small child after being scolded by their parents. "Yes." "Did you win?" "Yeah" "How much did you win" "I dunno..." "You sure?" "Haven't counted yet." Hectaris smiled. He patted his brother on the shoulder. "Come, let's walk." "Alright Hectaris." The two brothers began walking down a road, speaking if the missions the two companies had participated in. Each trying to one up the other. Hectaris had been in the mountains all month, and Grandis had been on and off missions for the past three months. The brothers walked down the flooded streets. "So, ever think of transferring to the hunters? Many fewer ferals." "And a smaller pay." "As opposed to the small pay you have now?" "Grandfather was a ranger, I want him to look down on my from his home above and smile at my diligence." "Grandfather soiled his pants and babbled about how hard it was to eat food as well. Do you intend on doing that?" Grandis shook his head. His grandfather had left his old ranger gear to his younger grandson. Leading to Hectaris having a grudge against their guardian grandfather. "Hectaris, he may have die old and senile, but he was still the one who tended us. Treat his memory in respect." Hectaris tssk-ed. "Fine, I'll treat his memory well while you're around." "Why are you so cynical?" Hectaris shrugged. "Maybe you're just too serious?" Retorted the elder brother. Grandis shook his head again. As glad as he was to see his brother, he also disliked the cynicism and morbid nature of him. He already got enough of both those qualities from Dravek and Frost respectively. But Hectaris was still his brother, and through thick and thin, would always be by his brothers side, even if it meant his own death. "I'm quite hungry, how about you Grandis?" Grandis looked to his brother and nodded with a smile. "Good, you can pay for it." Grandis stopped and looked at his brother with his jaw open. "Why me?" "Because hunter don't make as much pay as rangers. So obviously you should pay for it." The elder brother smiled to his younger of four years. Grandis shook his head again, a smile on his face. |

//OOC: There have been some news since I've posted this, but I'm not sure if Sandromin managed to see this or not:
Ner'Zul Nexhawk wrote:Basically, some part of these pages was just other people coming in and admiring this magnificent creation. For the rest of it, there was some continuation for our side characters' and parallel stories. Specifically, Frost traveled to the city of the dead and is now on the verge of dying from the hands of the shade that summoned him in the first place. Fatoxum reminded his brother in a rather aggressive way to stay careful and not to talk aloud about "something" that will immensely help Nexhawk after some time. (Consider it being a positive time bomb, in a sense.) Vyzion killed himself for no clear reason, and Conyr, after almost being cooked alive by the crazy female dwarf, also died, if I interpreted everything correctly. So I've not idea now what Vyzion is going to do. Meanwhile, Xavier has officially lost his sanity. But worry not, he didn't yet annihilate everyone one the spot. Instead, the Dwarf fainted, as the corruptive magic of the Dark Arcanum moved into his mind. Nexhawk, at the mean time, grabbed the book and asked the Trinity to let him use it in order to assemble and activate a certain artifact, created by Fate in time immemorial. The artifact, apparently, will be able to recount the history of any people that are now part of our story; moreover, it will somehow allow our heroes to see the future, which might help in the fight against Fate. However, even Nexhawk doesn't know what future exactly is going to be shown. Thanatos categorically refuses, claiming that the book has been under Diyadian jurisdiction since the second era. Alixenus, on the other hand, thinks that, unless someone has a better plan, Nexhawk should keep and use the book.
Now, shortly thereafter Thanatos mentioned that he actually is not against Nexhawk taking the book; in fact, his only concern lay with Nexhawk going on his expedition alone. Nexhawk quickly reassured the Trinity that his plans were to take them with him, considering the fact that Sandromin's presence would be, as mentioned previously, highly important. So, for now, that's about it.
Sandromin, your post in the aspect of reacting to Xavier's fainting and Nexhawk's proposal would be really welcomed. //End of OOC\\ |

Conyr scraped his frozen tears from his face and stood up. He realised he was so high that he couldn't see what was beyond his immediate surroundsings because he was standing in a cloud. The temperature was freezing cold; it was his logipriest blood that kept him warm. Conyr was just glad there didn't seem to be any wind. It was eerie, wading through the thick layer of snow, arms outstretched to keep his balance, but Conyr had started moving and he didn't want to stop.
A splash sounded to his left. Conyr swirled then froze, facing the location the noise had came from, and listened intently.
Another splash.
"Hello?" Conyr's voice carried clearly through the cloud, piercing the fog and silence. "Hakyi?"
Conyr tentatively stepped forward. And again. Suddenly the whiteness of the cloud darkened and a form took shape. It looked like a lump on the ground, rising... falling... breathing. Conyr was right on top of it when he realised it was the dwarf.
Conyr couldn't recognise her. Her face was ravaged by fire, horrible burns which mutilated her previously smooth skin and charred her scalp, turning her hairless. One eye was burnt to a crisp and all Conyr saw in the socket was blackness, the other was closed and relatively intact. Her mouth was open and her breathing sounded more like rasping; Conyr supposed her lungs were damaged too.
How did this happen? Conyr struggled to remember. The valley... the attack... waking up... the pot... Hakyi... Hakyi cooking... then... whiteness.
Conyr opened his eyes and jumped back in surprise as he saw the dwarf had opened her one good eye and was staring with a piercing gaze right Conyr's eyes, her pupil a magnificent shade of violet that he had not noticed in the darkness of the cave, but it did not mask the intensity with which she stared at the logipriest.
