OOC: Not what I expected. I thought you might take my hint and surrender peacefully, but I can make do with our current predicament, I mean how boring would this be if I tried to take control of this story. Dustia is living and breathing through us. Plus that would be way out of character considering Thanatos bows to no god, speaking of which since I started this Fate thing I'll start introducing more Elder Gods soon. Plus as a bonus, a little Lionus III background.
Thanatos is completely calm before Alixenus, his deep eyes made it evident that he never sought to fight anyone. He went blank for a moment. His power began to reveal more about itself. He called out to Xavier, as if trying to save a brother from his inevitable demise. A feeling far too familiar to him.
"Xavier, brother listen to me. You must heed my warning. I know it, I see it in you. You must overcome that book. I know that power better than you, I've memorized every word. It'll try to convince you it is good. That is EVIL magick. Knowledge passed down from wicked to wicked alike. Who feasted on the souls of their kin. You must not be consumed by the Dark Arcanum. Do not force now idle hands." |

OOC: If you're wondering where I got the giant pit thing, it's in local mythology as well as records from our nation's own archives. Also, it is implied the Doric city is the Guild of Thought's headquarters, for obvious reasons.
"Enough of this speech, for your speech shall forsake you all. You will be at each other's throats within a fortnight, and dead the next! No, I will NOT tolerate this; you will obey the conventions established by our forefathers. Xavier, you are an insane person, corrupted by the Dark Arcanum! Repent of thine latest acts and return the book, or else you shall be turned into the Archnecromancer himself! I know you have the book, do not take me for a fool.
"And you, Thanatos, I know your position, but you must delegate properly. Speak softly and let your actions speak for you. Do not force others into doing anything, lest you become the very thing you are fighting! And do not act surprised, for I also know your fight against Fate.
"And Alixenus, as for you, you must know this: I am not powerless in any form or fashion. My nation has established things well in advance, and information is plenty in the land of dead civilizations and the cradle of nations."
OOC: So yeah, may cause a firestorm, not sure. |

I can't delegate with him, it's his choice now, you can't see the demons that dance around his spirit, delivering him to his doom. Diyad won't declare war. We never wanted to, and never will. Still he stood there, Dagger against one, sword against the other. He was too prideful to be willingly taken prisoner by a foreign power, let alone one that had so utterly outmatched his own. So Alixenus stood there, bracing himself whatever fresh hell may issue forth when Xavier finished wrestling inside his own mind and spoke. |

Cairn saw that his old friend was troubled after the burial. Frost looked sadder than usual, he didn't even talk to cairn when he had finished. No one spoke to the young ranger, they had all experienced this before, the death of a comrade. But frost had thought of Kantys as a brother. Cairn sighed. They'd be leaving this accursed hill soon, the sun had reared it head to see the carnage of the night. And quite the carnage it was. Bodies of the dead laid skewed about. The giant frost had killed garnered much attention from the company. Even Drases was impressed, a feat that was hard to accomplish while in his brigade. Frost was still silent to his comrades as he packed his bag for the two hour trip. The company set out for the nearest "settlement," the city of tents that moved from region to region. The epicenter of all the sentient life left on this desolate country. Cairn walked by his friends, Frost, Darvek and Grandis. Only Kantys was missing form the brother hood within the brother hood. Darvek, the oldest spoke up first. "So, who's telling his ma?" Frost looked up at Cairn, the leader of the little group of friends. Cairn felt sadness wash over him, Frost's face was still covered, but he could see in his eyes the sorrow that radiated from his oldest friend. "I think Adryan, should. You and Kantys were closer than we were to him. It would dishonor him for any of us to do it aside from you." Frost sighed. Grandis patted his young friend on the shoulder. Grandis was nearly a giant in his stature, he stood nearly seven feet, and had muscles like an ox. He spoke up. "We'll honor when we get back to the tent city. You can meet us at the central bar when, well, you know." Frost looked up his large friend and nodded. After a few hours of walking the city of tents, it was a sight for sore eyes. The men quickened their pace when the tents got into view. They were met by the vanguard, men and women who wore heavy armor and held spears that doubled as ranged weapons. A protector stood at the northern entrance, speaking to a vanguard captain. He was about seven and a half foot tall, with ram horns. Draven the great. He was well know in the lands. Draven turned to the company of rangers. "Drases reporting in, lord Draven."Drases spoke to the giant with respect and friendship. "Drases, stop calling me lord, you know I dislike it." The giant shook Drases' hand. Draven gave them directions for the city, since its layout had changed again. Frost hurried off to the living quarter. Cairn, Grandis and Darvek stood looking after their friend. "God's bless him. The poor kid." Grandis said. "He's not that bad off, you saw the giant he snagged right, thing was huge. You saw the cut he had on it? I mean-" Cairn cut Dravek off mid sentence. "You know it was Kantys' sister's birthday the other day right? She turned sixteen. That's why it's so bad Dravek. He had to leave on her birthday." Dravek looked ashamed. "I-I didn't know. I was just sayi-" Cairn cut him off again. "That's right Dravek you didn't know. Maybe you should shut that mouth of your's once in a while." Cairn walked off. Grandis looked at Dravek and shook his head. Dravek looked ashamed and followed after. Mean while Frost stood in front of a tent with a familiar symbol on it. It was the crest of Kantys' family. Frost took a deep breath and entered, a smell of fresh baked bread wafted through the tent. His heart dropped. Kantys' mother bustled about the tent, and stopped, she was a short portly woman with cherry blonde hair and a smile across her face. "Adryan! Oh come here." Frost walked over to Kantys' mother and gave her an embrace as he usually did. "Hello, miss Danya. Is Reta around?" Frost spoke meekly and sat in a chair, Danya sat across from his smiling. "Oh no, she's out with her friends today. Why?" She looked slightly worried. "I...have some news she should hear." Frost removed his hood and lowered his scarf. "Last night...we..." Frost swallows hard. "We were ambushed..."Danya gasped. "Is my boy alright? Is Kantys alright?" She moved closer and grabbed frost hand. Fear gripped her eyes, Frost had seen this look on Thai scale twice in his young life. Both occasions were nearly as bad. "Uh...no, Danya....uh...Kantys. He died." Each word was a struggle against tears. When he had finished, Danya sat silent for a moment. Then she weeped. She cried like a new born who had just entered the world. She buried her face into her hands and weeped. Her son was dead. Her little boy. Frost didn't know what to do. After a few minutes, his friends mother stopped and looked up with a tear streaked face. "Was, was it quick? Did he die quickly?" She looked horrified. "Yes. It was quick. And I buried him on the top of the hill. Our priest blessed his grave." I told her Kantys, it old her it was quick. "He also wanted me to give you this." Frost dug into his cloaks pocket and took out a coin. He hadn't noticed before. But the coin wasn't a coin at all. It was a locket. It opened in his hand. He didn't mean to open it but it happened and he saw a carving of his sister and him self in it. Reta was his younger by three years. Frost was a year and two months older than her. He closed the locket quickly. Danya held the locket to her chest and cried some more. "Thank you Adryan. Thank you." She looked slightly less woeful now. Frost stood up, and gave Danya his condolences. He was truly sorry for her.when he had gotten a foot out the door Danya called to him."Adryan, will you come back here tonight? Reta will probably want to see you, we'll have food for you and Cairn if he wants to stop by." Frost turned back to his friends mother, she had a slight smile. It was sad, but frost would come back, he nodded. He left the tent, and heard her sobbing again. Frost hated this place. He started to make his way to the bar...

The blood casually dripped to the floor, and because of this, a pool of blood is forming.
He lifts his hand and takes a cautious lick of the blood. It tasted sweet and rejuvenated. It was not a stretch to say it was the greatest taste Xavier has ever experienced.
At last he speaks.
"Have you even tasted blood before? Heh. Neither have I. Well, until now, I suppose. I do suggest you try it. It tastes, like the most luscious berry. You know, I haven't really looked at any of you before. Your faces. Your chiseled features. I never really bothered to. But, who cares about that, eh?"
The words spoken by Thanatos, Sandromin, and Alixenus were not heard. He was gone now. He heard none of what he wished to hear and none of what he didn't.
Xavier looked around the hall. There were no more walls. He was in a meadow. A meadow filled with signing birds and flowers that turned to smile. It was quite a lovely sight. And his friends were there! Thanatos, the solemn stranger! Alixenus, the moody playmate. And Sandromin, the shy boy who rarely talked.
But Xavier could not stay. His mother was calling him. He could play no more.
"I'm sorry my friends, but my parents are calling me. It is such a lovely day, I know. I hope to talk to all soon!"
And with that, he vanished. Vanished from the meadow. Vanished from the Assembly. He was, gone. |

//OOC: Wow, Xavier. Just wow.
And thank you, Alexinus. Certainly, war would not be in the Ashborn's best interest. //End of OOC\\
Cenizar watched calmly as the unknown ships surrounded the Pathburner and gathered into a military formation of sorts. Thoughts of the entire armada trying to attack one seemingly helpless ship summoned a smirk on his face. He knew, however, that Nexhawk would not approve of fighting during the first interactions with the inhabitants of the nearby continent. Cenizar scribbled a short letter on a sheet of parchment:
We've made first contact with the fleet of a local nation in the strait that I've mentioned to you in my last letter.
Cenizar
He gave the note to the phoenix bird sitting on his shoulder. The hatchling readily snatched the letter and flew off to distant Spodium.
Meanwhile, Cenizar cleared his throat and lifted his hands, casting a spell that would project his voice over the entire armada. When he spoke, every single Venezzian sailor, warrior, and refugee could hear him perfectly.
"I greet you, denizens of these lands! My name is Cenizar, and I am the captain of this ship that has been sent by our glorious leader, Nexhawk, to explore these continents much closer. You most certainly have heard of our arrival during the Fiery Lord's speech, undoubtedly. I can assure you that the Ashborn mean to harm to the you if you do not mean any to us."
Cenizar looked around. He saw faces gazing at him from the towering ships of the armada and knew that the words had brought the desired effect.
"Now, I would be very much eager to meet with the admiral of your fleet so that we could discuss not only the first interactions between our nation of Ardorium and yours, but also our ship's passage to this island that you have just taken your people from."
Cenizar lowered his voice so that only the Ashborn on his ship could hear the words. "Be prepared to conjure the Orb, if they turn hostile." _________________________________________________________________________________________________
Several tens of miles away from the city of Venezzia, Ignatus could not believe his senses. He paced the Embershard in confusion and summoned one of the Ashborn to wake up the phoenix messenger. The crew member returned shortly with a small brown egg that had, similarly to Ashborn's skin, cinder cracks along its surface. Ignatus whispered two words and touched the egg with his index finger.
Next moment, the egg cracked open, and the fiery bird sprang out of it, awoken. Ignatus nodded in satisfaction and handed a short letter that was written a minute ago. The phoenix, being an intelligent species, flew due southeast faster than usual, understanding the urgency of the message.

Another punch slammed into Frost's jaw. This brute attacking him was Dagareth "the crusher". Dravek had gotten drunk and started to run his mouth off to the biggest man in the bar. Cairn and Grandis went to Danya's house to tell her and Reta that Frost was "tied up". Frost wiped his mouth of blood. "You can get him frost!" Dravek called out drunkenly to his friend. "Dravek!" Frost shouted as he ducked under a swing that would have taken his head off. Dravek looked at his friend questioning lay "yeah?" "Shut the hell up!" Frost rolled to the side. "Hold still runt!" The almost giant shouted at Frost as he kicked at his enemy. A crowd was gathered around the fight. Cheers went up for both sides. Each combatant was relatively well know. Frost for his past and Dagarth because he choked a giant to death. Frost kicked his large assailant in the knee to which Dagareth cursed his family. That didn't phase Frost considering he didn't have any blood relatives left. Dagareth grabbed at Frost, frost ducked the large beast man and punched him in his ribs. The great beast grunted and kneed Frost in the stomach, knocking him to the ground. "...dammit..." Was all Frost could muster while he laid on his back, with the wind knocked out of him. "Get up Frost!" It was one of the patrons, a female. Frost wasn't sure why he got back up, but he did. Maybe he wanted to impress her. Or maybe his brains were knocked out when he fell. The crusher hadn't been looking he had already thought he'd won the fight. Frost jumped onto the brutes back and tightened his arms around his neck. Cheers and boo's were intermingled in the crowd. Dagareth started bucking around like a horse. Tossing Frost left and right and up and down. Frost started slamming his fist into his enemies temple frantically. "Get" Dagareth grabbed Frost arm. "Off!" He started to loosen Frost grip on his throat. Frost could hear the bloodlust in the crushers voice. He wanted to kill Frost, literally. Frost bit into Dagareth's shoulder. He could feel and taste the blood in his mouth, it was warm, and tasted like copper. Frost yanked his head away and tore a chunk of meat out of Dagareth. The crowd around gave a collective grunt of disgust, intrigue and even one patron cheered...Darvek...Then Dagareth's paw of a hand shot up and grabbed frost by the face, and he started to squeeze. Frost was starting to see stars, when he heard the female shout at him again. "Adryan!" Only seven people had ever called Frost by his true name. A renewed spirit filled Frost, he grabbed Dagareth's fingers on his hand and started to bend them back until a sickening snap was heard. Dagareth shouted in pain and frost fell to the ground stumbling. Dagareth spun and slammed his good hand into Frost jaw. Frost pirouetted and fell on his face, the cool ground felt good on his bruised body. But he wasn't there for long, he was picked up by the back of the neck and slammed onto the cold hard ground. He felt a pressure on the back of his head, Dagareth's booted foot was pressing against him. "Bite me will ya? Break my good hand!? I'm gonna crush your DAMNED SKULL RUNT!" Frost was starting to black out. Dravek you stupid idiot, you've gotten me killed. Frost didn't know what to do. Was he really going to die here? Frost could hear his bones struggling. Then he remembered something. The ranger knife. The blade to stop you from coming back. Frost was loosing time, he reached into his pocket and felt it there. He pulled it out and stabbed into Dagareth's ankle, the blade was made of iron, and it was made to break and shatter if any jerking motion happened to it. And that's just what happened. The blade broke. Dagareth shouted and fell backwards. Frost got up groggily. Dagareth laid on the ground cradling his wounded foot and shoulder. Frost walked over to him slowly."Never mess with a ranger." Frost then promptly introduced his boot heel into agareth's face. He knocked the beast out. Frost turned slowly to the crowd. "Get him to a doctor." Frost then fell unconscious in the middle of bar tent. And he dreamed. He dreamed of a hill lit by twilight that he laid on. And he saw many familiar faces. Kantys, his mother, his father and his little brother. He also saw Cairn and Reta. He saw Grandis and Drevek. He saw all of them around him, staring down at him each one saying something. He couldn't understand them. He saw Danya walk into his view and then he blacked out in the dream. Frost woke up in a dark tent room. He sat up quickly. That was a bad idea. His head was throbbing, his abdomen was on stinging him. And he could barely move his jaw. He felt something stir next to him. Reta, was sitting in a chair next to his bed, she had fallen asleep and laid on the bed with her arms crossed as pillows. Frost smiled at Reta. He could see that she had stayed to see if he was alright. Dravek also sat in the room, but he was out cold. Frost shook his head at his drunken friend, but he wouldn't stay angry at him. Frost laid back in the bed. Reta stirred in her sleep. Frost wouldn't wake her. That was a bad omen. Frost just laid awake. Thinking. About life, about death. Why he had become a ranger. He just thought. Frost sighed, and Reta yawned awake. She looked up at frost, her hair covered her face, she brushed back and saw Frost smiling at her. She started talking fast. "Sorry Adryan, I didn't mean to wake you up, I just feel asleep watching you, I mean, not that I was watching to I was just-" Frost stopped her. "You didn't wake me up, I was already awake. And it's alright. I need so,e one other than the idiot watching me." Frost motioned to his friend. "Go back to sleep. Nothing will happen I'm sure. And if something does you have two rangers here. Unless Cairn' here then you'll have three." Reta nodded left the room, she was going to her bed. Dravek sat snoring. And frost laid back and began to sleep. |

"Well, this is my last day here, for I have received news of something important within my lands. We shall set sail on the expedition within the fortnight and I expect several heroes to accompany me. As for you two, Alixenus and Thanatos, I must speak to you both in private before the day is done."
As Sandromin finished his comments, he left to go to his encampment. On the way there, Freedom appeared and spoke words of upcoming events to Sandromin.
"Bonjour, mi amis."
"Excuse me, what?" Sandromin remarked.
"Another language of another land, my friend. Anyways, that holds no significance at the current moment. No, rather, I am here to bestow upon you a gift. In fact, it is a special gift indeed: I give you the ability to see."
"I do believe I am able to see at the moment."
"Not that kind of sight. No, it is the sight that I have. Here take the gift of Oculi Vigilia, so you can see what Thanatos and I see."
"But what are the benefits of the eye?"
"The eye's power is divided into two aspects: the physical and the spiritual. It will allow you to have better vision and see with more fidelity. Furthermore, it will augment your reflexes, allowing you to react in a quicker fashion to enemy strikes. You will even be able to copy the enemy with complete precision if you wanted. These are the advantages in the physical aspect. The spiritual 'eye,' per se, allows you to see further into this plane of existence. You will see spirits, ethereal beings, and even the powers at hand themselves! It will allow you to hold a defense against the beings you cannot see. There are even powers that the eye can give you, but you will have to figure that out for later."
"Ah, now I see. However, what detriments does this hold to me? And furthermore, why are you giving this to me?" Sandromin pondered.
"The detriments are few, but one is more notable than the rest. The eye's power cannot be held by just any person; one must be calm and proven to have a strong willpower in order to resist the corruption of the other beings. If you cannot resist, then you will go insane, much akin to Xavier's condition. And the reason I am giving it to you? You will need it for the upcoming trials of your expedition. Oh, and did I mention the eye is unique, and each person has a different color and pattern, as well as abilities? These are all related to your personality and characteristics; you will understand it when you see."
"Bu-"
Before Sandromin could even finish the word, Freedom had disappeared. There was much to meditate on, and Sandromin had much to learn about his new power; what advantages could the Oculi Vigilia hold? Only time could tell. |

OOC: If each of us were to have a distinct album or song for our individual character, what would it be?
Here are my Opinions:
Brain Damage/Eclipse + Dark Side of the Moon/Xavier- The entire album is about insanity, and I think it fits Xavier perfectly at the moment
Kashmir + Led Zeppelin 2 & 4/Sandromin- Kashmir is distinctively a song you'd expect of the desert, and the mysticism of both those albums fit Sandromin, as most of the passages involving him typically involve journeys or something completely adventurous
Gimme Shelter + Horse with no Name/Logipriests- Not sure, but they fit in my mind.
Paint it Black + Dust in the Wind/Thanatos- He just wants to see it painted black and everything is like DUST in the wind (see what I did there?)
(I can't Get No) Satisfaction + Baby Come Back/Fate- Hilarity ensues
Can't decide on the others, but if you ask me, Freedom ~ Doctor Who |

Shivers sends down his spine. The word "brother" escapes his mouth, yet there is no sound. He feels new eyes looking upon him. He whispers to himself: "You are too impatient, like always. Death has his time an place." Sandromin leaves. He looks to Alixenus after Sandromin leaves.
I apologize if I offended you earlier. There is much to explain. But what must be done must bare no suspicion. Captivity WOULD have been a logical excuse to meet with you two privately, but no matter. However I do stress that you would accept my invitation to come to Diyad tonight. It is a holiday and customary to bring your kin, and I regard you as kin. It is of utmost importance that you attend. Perhaps when there, you could try to spot Venezzian inspired architecture? You see I have very important information to give to you.
OOC: This is what shall happen after my conversation with Alixenus is over, just trying to get this done quickly.
After conversing with(and hopefully persuading) Alixenus, Thanatos makes his way to Sandromin. He finds him heading towards an encampment. He approaches:
"I could feel him follow you. He gave you vision, but neglected to give you clarity. I ask that you delay your proceedings for just another day. I would like you to come to Diyad. Our meeting could be held along the way. My airships are much more efficient. Only a three and a half hour journey. It is imperative that you receive the information I plan to relay."
If one were to gain the gift to see the realm of spirits, how would they perceive Thanatos? Well, how would one person a being that is supernatural, yet neither god nor spirit? Not a demon nor monster? Sandromin had gained vision. Before him the answer. At first one would see a man made up of swirling shadows. Each coils around him as if sentient. But to observe death is to gain clarity. The shadow towers above men and beast alike, and even challenges the gods. He is not evil, no not at all, but sinister. Better described by Venezzian lore. The shadowy tendrils extend the vast space around him like the web of a spider. All that is distinguishable, are his luminous pink eyes. All within the vessel, called the human body.
Fate sits idly in her celestial palace, watching over Dustia. Something startles her, an ethereal man appears chained to her cosmic clock.
"Awake again are we?" She responds. The vision, with the appearance of and elderly man, stretch marks on his face show eternities of pain. For he was Time, a god under the command of Fate now. But now his face smiled as if he'd slain his master himself. "You don't even realize what you've done. You have doomed yourself, and the Elder Gods as well." She is so easily annoyed by his brave words. "You have nerve OLD man. I have the dwarf, I fooled the Logipriest, and I'll kill Lionus as well as his allies! Now be silenced, I seek no longer to converse with you." The man painfully laughs and recites to himself, obviously directed at her: " The gods, the gods the gggooodddsss. So sit upon their ivory thrones. But evil is among them all. There was a time, when I was above YOU. But I saw this evil. The gods pride themselves in taking part of this grand game. Create the mortals, manipulate the mortals, destroy them, before the Gods lose their places of power. There was a time when the universe was not controlled under their iron fists. But they were greedy. Locked me away to serve you. They banished Freedom from the Spire, and cast Death into Oblivion. Death, the balance. The only thing truly definite. I am not the first Time, but I feared I may be the last. No longer, hahaha *cough* *hack*! You Fate, are the fool of fools!!! You awakened Death in the form of a man. And he is long passed overdue. He will teach his allies, the truth. For Death is no hero, but he will teach them to slay the gods. HE will bring about the destruction of all gods!!! I look forward to my eternal rest, but now I wait." Annoyance is anger and she is full of it. " I told you to SILENCE! Back into your clock..." His laughter is interrupted by her. His cold eyes meet her's and his smirk becomes focused hatred. His body begins to dissolve back into the clock. He screams his final sentence. The very palace begins to shake with violent force. " YOU HAVE DONE THIS! YOU WILL SEE! YOUR OBSESSION HAS BROUGHT ABOUT THE CLEANSING OF YOUR SINS. FEAR HIM, FOR DEATH APPROACHES!" And the thunderous roar ceases, as he fully disappears. Fate looks off to Dustia, contemplating her next move.
OOC: Sorry for this long post, and for the time being I can't think of an album so yours will have to do. |

Can't decide on the others, but if you ask me, Freedom ~ Doctor Who
The Collective's songs are basically anything by Daft Punk. |

//OOC: I think a marching song with some nobility would really suit you.
I, on the other hand, can't think of anything right now. The song has to be from that album, hasn't it? //End of OOC\\ |

//OOC: Not sure... I have an image more of a wide and knowledgable people that utilize the magic for their goals...
Considering one of Nexhawk's ultimate goals which may be disclosed during the future events, I would say that the following would do: Album: Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace (some of the songs, although not all, also connotate with the Ashborn) Song: The Pretender
By the way, a side note: the Ashborn themselves will not react happily to being called "Pyromancers". And I'm waiting for your reply, Alexinus. //End of OOC\\ |

OOC: Yes I think a marching song would be a good idea. I'll choose one tommorow. For now, I believe I have one of your ships surrounded... ________________________________________________________________________________________________ For a while, nothing happened in that narrow stretch of sea. The Venezzians were holding position as best they could on the choppy seas, all eyes and weapons focused on the stranger's ship. Eventually, a large row boat with a single Ketch [Triangular] sail was lowered from the starboard side of the Charybdis into the waters below. Gradually it made it's way towards Cenizar's vessel, taking great care not to be sucked into the maw on the side of the Great Battleship, which even now was still devouring vast quantities of water. Such was the distance between the two vessels and the harsh distemperance of the sea that it took the Row boat a full ten minutes to reach the Ashborn [Was it ashborn?]. As they came alongside the Basalt hull Grappling hooks immeadiately flew up and dug into the rock. A small group of Venezzian Marines proceeded to climb the rope ladders these were attached to. Once aboard they drew their weapons and appraised the strange people aboard the ship, both sides uncertain of the other's intentions. Eventually another Venezzian scrambled aboard. Dressed in what was presumably officers regalia; a deep red tunic finely embroidered with Gold braid and armoured in a steel Cuirass, he stepped in front of the Marines and addressed the crew in polite, if slightly arrogant, tones.
"I am Knight-Commander Partrocli Stocessco of the Northern fleet of the most prosperous Venezzian Republic. I greet you to these waters on behalf of our current ruler, Alixenus son of Alisander, Shield of the people. My superiors ask that you do not interfere with our current operations on this island," He gestured toward the Logipriest island, "Our ships will be out of your way in an hour or so. You may continue your voyage then. In the meantime they would also request that you inform us of who you are, your point of origin, destination and the intent of this journey" |

Thanatos 716 wrote:Shivers sends down his spine.
"I perceive you just fine, Thanatos. Surprised I know your thoughts? So am I. I don't know, but I just feel it, the ideas ringing in my head. It is... weird. A new experience. As for how I see you? I see you, but with an aura of black. It gives me an odd feeling, but nothing I cannot handle. And as a matter of fact, I will join you for your meeting in Diyad. Oh, and I think we can speak without speaking, if you understand the concept."
As Sandromin spoke, Thanatos saw a change overcome him. At first, he saw the usual shape of Sandromin, with his light and almost non-existent aura. But as his vision took full effect, Sandromin's yellow eyes began the changes through Thanatos' eyes. His aura gave off a yellow radiance, indescribable to Thanatos. Where he was dark, Sandromin was light. Radiance. A befitting word.
"Oh, and as for clarity, Freedom has said it will come with time. I have no idea what he means, but He has said the vision holds power and it will soon show."
Sandromin thought to Thanatos. He wondered if it was working. He also wondered if Thanatos would join his expedition.

Frost woke up with a headache like none he had before. His room was lit now, by natural light he guessed it was noon.there was no one in the room except himself. Frost struggled to sit up, he felt an aching pain over his entire body. He hadn't noticed before but a bandage was around his head and abdomen. Frost literally rolled out of the bed and landed on all fours. That was a bad idea, the jolt on the ground hurt his body. He stood up with much effort, some civilian clothes were left on a small table for him, next to his gear. Frost got dressed and stumbled out of his room and saw Cairn, Reta and Dravek sitting around a table discussing something. cairn looked at his friend with a large smile. "Well look at that. The mighty Adryan comes back from the dead. How was your beauty sleep?" Carin said in a not-quite sarcastic manner. "It was fine. Just wish I didn't have such a splitting headache." Frost shot a look at Dravek, who shrugged. frost took a seat at the table grunting with pain. Reta was the only one who looked worried. Cairn and Dravek had seen worse before. But they would spare Reta that. Reta and Drevek caught up while Frost and Cairn just sat and listened. After a few minutes of listening to mostly Dravek frost finally said something. "So Drevek." Frost began. "How did your loansome drunken self drag me here alone?" "Uh...well I didn't do it alone." "Then how did I get here? Did Dagareth help me here too?" Frost asked sarcastically. "I helped." Reta piped up. Frost looked thoroughly surprised. "Why were you at the bar? It's dangerous at night here, some could hav-" Now Reta had cut frost off. "When Grandis and Cairn came back and told us you were tied up, I could wait to see you again." Frost looked over at Cairn. He just shrugged. "So how much of the fight did you see?" Frost asked rather meekly. "Enough Adryan. Enough to be worried for you." She looked on the brink of tears. "I already lost my brother, I can't lose you too! Especially in the same day." Frost looked ashamed. After several moments of silence from every one around the table "I'm sorry Reta. I didn't know you were there" "So if you did know you wouldn't have fought him?" "I probably would have. He was gonna kill Dravek." Again meek. Reta looked angry at Frost, who shifted unco, for table under her I shifting gaze. Those big eyes of here's made it worse. "You can't blame Adryan. He's still young and stupid. Not a stupid as Dravek, but still stupid." Frost looked at Cairn and was going to defend himself. But cairn spoke up again. "Plus he won. Mostly. And don't say what if he didn't because we both know that what ifs don't happen." Reta thought for a moment then nodded. "Alright fine. You're safe for now Adryan. But of you get beaten like a drum again, don't come here." Frost nodded. "Well." Carin slapped his hand down on the table. "We gotta get going. We'll see you later Reta. Frost, Darvek, lets get moving." The rangers stood up and started to leave. Reta grabbed Frost as he got up and pulled him close. "I am glad your back safe though." Reta kissed frost on the cheek and let him go. Frost stood dumb founded. "Uh...yeah me too, I mean it's good to see you again." Frost stuttered with his words. "And, I'm sorry. For, everything." Frost said in a solemn voice. Reta nodded, the. Cairn shouted "Frost hurry up! We got places to go!" Frost looked at Reta and gave another good bye as he hurried out. "So, uh. What are we doing today?" Asked Frost. The rangers started to walk. The sun was up and people were about, it was almost like the dead weren't walking around. Almost. "Not sure really. We have three days off. Drases told me this morning. Most of the company is just...well living really." Cairn spoke as the three men walked down a large makeshift street. "So, Kantys was our medic right?" Started Darvek, to which Frost and Cairn groaned. "Are you still drunk? Yes Kantys was our medic. I this discussion over now?" Frost was getting sick of Darvek's constant talking. "Now hold on, let me finish! If Kantys was our medic, then we are now down the most vital asset to any ranger company." cairn and frost saw what Darvek was getting at. "Where are we going to find a medic? Every knows how dangerous it is to be a ranger. And any medics are already in a company." Frost wondered aloud. "Does it really matter? We've always gotten by. We'll find someone." Cairn spoke to himself mostly. Frost dropped the subject as did Dravek surprisingly. They walked around the tent city, joking, buying thing from merchants talking about their future. Things any normal person would do day to day. They found Grandis later In the day. It was a good simple day. When the sun rested his head finally the group split, Frost was the only one that left really. Frost returned to Reta and Danya's tent early enough for dinner. Rabbit and leak stew with fresh bread. It was one of the best meals frost had in months. The rest of the night went fairly normally. It came time for Frost to sleep. He was tired. And it wasn't from killing, getting the hell kicked out of him, kicking the hell out of some one or just being Frost in general. Frost put his sleeping pants on on and laid in bed, not trying to sleep yet, just thinking. He heard foot steps walk into his room. Frost sat up. Reta was standing at the entrance to his room. "Reta? What are you doing?" "I had a nightmare." Reta sounded like a child. "What was it about?" Frost asked as Reta walked closer. "You and my brother were in it. You were on that hill you spoke of fighting those...things. And then, you- you." Reta began to weep. Frost got up and walked to Reta. He embraced her. "Shhh. I know. I know." Reta started to calm down. "Can I...stay in here with you tonight?" Reta was apprehensive of the question. Frost nodded. Reta laid down on the bed. Frost took an extra blanket and laid on the ground. "You could...sleep up here, you know..." Frost didn't argue. |

Sandromin attempts to communicate with Thanatos. Suddenly he feels as if his body is sucked into the endless void of shadows. He could see the tortured dead, hear their screams. He also saw the fallen soldiers, and great heroes, those who strove for the greater good. The void was full, yet empty. It would drive a normal man insane with fear. But in the distance he saw light. He made his way for it, the void violently pulling him back. Before being consumed he felt a hand grab his. The hand pulled him to the light. Among all of the insanity, there was the Reaper, tending to both the innocent and guilty, with a fatherly love. Then in a flash Sandromin was back in front of Thanatos. He could hear a voice in his own head. "One should never try to converse with Death, at risk of being consumed by him." Then Thanatos speaks to him with his mouth. "Do not confuse my reaction with surprise. I am well aware of your capabilities. You have much to learn. There are memories in my mind, vital to your future. Know that everyone you have and will have met will hold great importance. I'm... afraid HE will not visit you again, his goal was to lead you to me. He is in as much danger as us all. Do not strain your new found gift. There is another step in achieving your true potential."
Thanatos. His mind, an inescapable labyrinth. Memories flooded throughout him. He just had to make sense of them. He now had the title of Death, but what relevance did it hold to him? There was something more, treachery perhaps? These questions would have to wait. For he thought more of his future. And as he went on his true nature would reveal itself to him.
OOC: Lessons of today: 1: Avoid using telepathy on Thanatos 2: What does it all mean? 3: Backstory Imminent 4: Don't strain the vision. 5: Avoid drink orange juice near brand new keyboard... |
