Yeah I got fed up with the damned broken KBM controls for this game. Hell, it took players screaming at the devs over 2 years ago at EVE Vegas to get ANY kinda KBM support in the way of a sheet with all the controls listed on it back during beta. And it wasn't until then that the devs realized that the "tooltips" were coded for controllers only and always said press "X" to activate inertial dampeners... Well the letter x on the keyboard doesn't do that! When the dev was told this it was like watching a light-bulb turn on behind his eyes.
Seriously, gotta at least let the KBM users remap the darned keys. Throwing grenades when trying to PTT is aweful.
Oh, and fix the verisimilitude of the game CCP!

CCP is making design decisions to cater to the FOTM ADD couch potatoes, while ignoring the eventual reality of a cross-platform Eve/Dust universe. |

It's NEVER coming to PC. I dunno why people can't seem to understand that aspect of this game. To do so would majorly cut into their flagship game EVE Online and then both would die.

Are you part of CCP's development or marketing team ? No ? Gotcha, so what you say is just about as relevant as people's outlook on a "possible" PC version.... Or of course, if you still care to be contentious feel free to link me to some form of media definitely stating that there will never be a PC version ? |

Dude, in a lot of the Eve fleets I've been in, guys were playing Bad Company or World of Tanks in the lulls between combat. I'm sure they'd rather play a few matches of Dust instead.
And that's WHILE playing Eve.
Do you think Eve pilots only have Eve installed on their PCs and that's it? I guess you must've been the guy at Capcom screaming "NO, we can't release Street Fighter AND Resident Evil on the same consoles, WE'LL GO BANKRUPT".
The future of this game is cross platform. The next platform is likely the PS4, which is basically a PC hardware wise.
After making the necessary code changes to target the PS4, why not do the extra bit of work to make a PC binary?
EDIT: Also, the oculus rift is a peripheral, not a platform, and while console support is coming, it's currently only targeting PCs. |

I agree, mouse and keyboard do not require any support. PS3 has all of the support that m/kb need. Letting mouse and keyboard revert back to raw input would indeed free up a bunch of time for ccp to work on the ds3 and Move.

Yes, ccp can you please stop crippling m/kb controlls to the point that I would just asume play Battlefield on Pc. TBO dust is a better game than BF 4, but the mouse input in Dust is a joke.

As long as the kb/m and the controller have the same turn speeds and movement rates I dont really mind them balancing the two to improve controls. Its when the kb/m can spin 180 degrees in the blink of an eye that it becomes an issue in my opinion.

You can spin fast now... The one thing mouse still accels at. The problem is once you spin it is very clunky to aim

Because trying to implement kb/m into a console games game play was a mistake to begin with.
Clear benefits when managing the UI of course given its complexity relative to typical console UI but that's about where the inherent merit ends for a console game.
kb/m is indeed the better overall control scheme thats not an issue for debate imo.However its just a unnecessary mess for a console game. I can only imagine all the time spent on the attempt to balance it with Ds3 and vice versa would have been better spent on actual meaningful development. Just another example of poor development prioritization in an already trained and mismanaged process. |

I disagree, here is why.
CCP has, as I see it, two problems. 1. Balancing issues 2. Player count issues
Almost every part of this game no matter how big are small has an impact on the game in terms of balance. M/KB is no exception. So assuming that everything that CCP does is gioing to effect the scales of balance we can throw out the idea that ballancing M/KB is greater or worse than ballancing anything else.
Problem number 2: Numbers, many of the problems with ballancing teams and game modes come from the lack of players playing at any one time. To dismiss the number of new players that would either start playing Dust or resume playing again would be foolish. I think that working on M/Kb would be well worth Ccp's time and would benefit the communitee as a whole.

I just made the mistake of purchasing a m&k today thinking i was going to become an elite proto bear once i started using it, I quickly went back to using the ds3, keyboard is going to come in handy for typing on the forums though. |

The best players at Dust are DS3 Pros, not m/kb regulars. I would suggest either fixing m/kb contolls or stop patronizing the pc croud. I would prefer they just fix it. |

Apparently a major part of this issue is that it's almost impossible to get good mouse control in a game without it running at at least 60 fps.
