All m/kb users who are unhappy with the current controls and sensitivity should let their voice be heard..
File a support ticket, create threads, raise hell till we get a response/acknowledgement from Devs..
- The aim and control sticky in the feedback section has now been removed
- Even after multiple kb/m users expresed their concerns with the current mouse emulation vs DS3 aim assist there was never a response from a Dev..
- Friends of mine who use kb/m and myself have posted support tickets and they refer us to post on the forums. .
- The small minority of vocal mouse users who make threads have half trolls and half users struggling with the following..
Wobbling ADS Inaccurate hip fire slides left and right Acceleration to slow on some mouse types
Now before the DS3 users get on here and say htfu its a console use a controller gtfo tryhard etc
When the DS3 was slow and ****** up in chromosome and pre 1.4 you guys were pissed and extremly vocal about it...
Now put yourself in our shoes you're still unable to track tagets the controls have a mind of there own and you're constantly going up against other players that get aim assist and you have pre 1.4 controls. .

My biggest problem is that while you can try and improve your average accuracy to about 70% with M/KB in its current (very flawed) state, Auto Aim always ensures about 80-90%.
Before AA it was 70% vs 60% on average.
The numbers, as always, taken out of my ass. |

True balance will never be achieved between DS3 and KB/M so CCP has to at least get one correct.
This being a console FPS on a PS3 he DS3 will always win do to the massive QQ CCP will get if they can not at least have the DS3 working 100%.
I would get rid of KB/M support all together, if you want to play a FPS using a KB/M then go play a PC FPS. |

Yep as a mouse user you can't have a tight CQC vs a DS3 where as us mouse users are fighting to keep the mouse/joystick emulation on target the DS3 is a sollid strafe and aim assist to help you keep tracking...
The DS3 is damn near flawless with aim assist, just give mouse users back rawinput like in chromosome then if any of us get beat by a DS3 there is no excuses..
Especially with the new rifles being released I'd like to be able to track some one accurately at 70+m with my rail ;)

Within the last week I have picked up the shotgun ( level 5 ) out of boredom with other weapons. I don't see how you do it, the hit detection is absolutely atrocious. I have used every other weapon in Uprising ( other than Plasma Cannon ) they all seem to be fine other than the poor shotgun. |

You are lying. This is a lie. I tested strafing direction changes in all classes of suits with DS3 and Keyboard.
There is NO difference in keyboard vs ds3 strafing speed, and there is NO difference time it takes to switch strafe directions.
Go test it yourself before you perpetuate a myth.

What is it with this mind virus that "balance" between DS3 and KB/M is a desirable goal?
The goal should be to make DS3 the BEST it can be, and make KB/M the BEST it can be.
Also, why does it matter that the collection of chips and wires this game currently runs on is a "Console"? This hardware has USB ports and NATIVE mouse support. Why should tradition have any say into what the ports are used for? That type of thinking is what kills innovation.
The future of this game is cross-platform, there are NO exclusive agreements with Sony, and this game WILL be fanning out to every platform CCP has the time, desire, and money to put it on.
A PC version is coming, and you all need to get used to the idea of different inputs being a reality of this game.
Now GTFO of this thread and let the issue at hand be discussed. |

Yeah, even as a mass driver user I'm feeling the pain. I used to be able to land all sorts of Hail Mary bs in Chromosome. I was happy about the removal of the turn speed cap, but now it feels like I'm aiming underwater.
When I snipe, i used to be able to issue fine movements down the scope. Now I need to sweep across the target multiple times and hope that eventually the crosshair lands where I need it.
And when I run out of ammo with my MD, the SMG is literally the most spray and pray thing I've ever done in my 15 years of FPS gaming. I cannot track anything.
It's super frustrating. |

As a long time PC gamer I would have to agree that I would love to see both controllers working at the best both of them can be, however the problem then becomes the simple fact that the KB/M will always come out on top of the DS3 100% of the time.
You then get 80 million PS3 owners pissed that the DS3 sucks compared to the KB/M and major QQ happens.
Ahhhhhhh now the Devs are tasked with balance so there is no QQ. |

AFAIK the best players in the game use DS3.
The argument that KBM is better and DS3 users will get stomped and QQ is bad because this was never the case when KBM was significantly better in Chromosome. DS3 was still the preferred input control method for the majority of players on the top of the leaderboards.
People still blamed KBM but that's because bad players want excuses for their poor skill. They don't want to face the fact they are just bad. I can't |

I used to be of the opinion that the mouse is tremendously superior to the joystick. After playing with and against the top players in this game(even before auto-aim, never mind after...) I'm no longer convinced that the DS3 is at a big disadvantage.
Conceptually yes, there is some inherent inferiority with the DS3 compared to KB/M, but I don't think that switching from DS3 to KB/M will turn a Scrub into an All-Star.
There's plenty of scrubs running around in PC shooters to vouch for that.
It's the same fallacy as thinking that buying 300 dollar sneakers and some fresh gear will turn you into Micheal Jordan.
So no, a KB/M player will not come out on top 100% of the time.
And while I might say that the mouse (if it were working properly in this game, AND if auto aim were removed for the DS3) would impart a 10-15% improvement in performance to the average player, is that such an unfair advantage? Especially being that the 15% is obtainable by going to Walmart and spending $20 bucks and putting in 2 weeks of practice? The same way many in this game spend real money on boosters to increase their skill points for similar increases in performance?
CCP needs to educate the whiners to the facts, ignore the QQers, and stop whatever initiatives they have going on this fail mission of "balance". The difference in performance does not validate the gimping of any control scheme. And if these KB/M restrictions are in place when the game launches on PC, it'll be another blow to the growth of this game. |

FWIW, I think one design point of the overhaul would be separate sensitivity settings between hipfire and ADS, as it is today it is practically impossible to set up your m&kb to work well in both scenarios. Setting sensitivity for hipfire destroys ADS, and visa versa.

I'd further that idea long, and suggest what I've suggested repeatedly in the past:
I want a fracking slider for EVERYTHING.
X Sens, Y Sens, Zoom sens, Acceleration curve type, minimum input, deadzones, button remapping.
Everything!
For DS3 and KB/M.
DS3 can have presets for:
C (CoD) B (Battlefield) X (Chromosome) U (Uprising)
And advanced users can tweak from there.
KB/M can have presets for:
X (Chromosome) U (Uprising)
And the same tweaking can be had.
Iterative tweaks and changes by CCP to our controls is NOT the way to solve controller issues. CCP will never be able to make a one size fits all scheme. Controller/input complaints WILL PERSIST until all controls are uncapped, and the players are given control over OUR CONTROLS. |
