Caught up on Log Horizon.

I get where you guys are coming from now - a lot of the shows interesting pace is finally taking a back seat to flesh out some characters internal strife believably.

Unfortunately they did so by tying two slow stories together.

They probably thought people would enjoy watching the loli purple hair girl learingn her Teaching - but it was tedious watching her anguish over a childish issue. And it's backed and then followed by slow pacing and lots of internal dialogue.

But to say the show has dropped for it is too much, Log Horizon in season 2 is basically telling us they're comfortable enough with the plot and characters that they can slow it down and start fleshing everything out.

as such, season 2 is much like season one of clannad, it's not going to wrap up anything but give you a ton more questions.

There's also something else I've noticed - animation quality dropped. I saw consistently ugly scenes as if they just couldn't be bothered to draw a line straight. This is becoming noticeable more frequently in the later episodes, especially when the youngster started there travels.

It was the stupid arc devoted to the kids that caused me to drop it. Personally, Akatsuki's arc where she was learning her Teaching was one of the better points of Log Horizon; I really enjoyed that bit. Everything after that was just boring as hell.

Yeah totally, the TV adaptation is pretty great. Certainly does better at adapting the material than the Golden Age movies.

Will be catching up on SAO2 soon, but for now it's Gourmet Girl Graffiti.

This shows great <3 especially how they do the trailer for the next episode, I've never seen chibi's so well done or kawaii!! :3

You Lie In April.

And oh, man, I love this show, I was raving bout it when it first came out for beauty, music, everything. But the foreshadowing and obvious ending... and what that ending was.

I don't want to go through it, lol. I love blondie too much :(

blame the director for making the plot too obvious. I don't want her to die and know that's how they'll play it in the end.

The main guy is going to move on playing piano forever more while moping about her death and we'll likely get no true resolution about anything from any of the other characters other then life sucks without blondie but it'll get better... eventually.

Literally just watched the last episode.

Idk sota, the fact that they explained what "Your lie in April" meant was decent enough for me.
There are not many endings that I like when it comes to anime, but this one was pretty damn perfect.

Sure, I kinda figured what was going to happen...but they did leave a few surprises for the end I didn't expect that makes me want to re-watch the whole thing now.

As to emphasis my point about how absolutely perverted this season is, I've started a show called Yurikuma Arashi.

It's a very ecchi show about girl on girl ... on eating girl. This show is super random too, lmao.

Next I'm going to try this Virgin Maria, but the title already kinda... haha, what a season.

And high school DxD comes next season, w00t for more perversion, Heimdllar must be pleased :3

Neither yurikuma or Maria the Virgin Witch are heavy on the ecchi front. The former is just a symbolism laden tale about ... its actually a bit difficult to describe what it's about. I guess you could say it deals with the idea of true friendship through adversity while touching on a society that ostricizes nonconformity. But seriously the first episode is probably the most notably lewd one. Like I've said before the show is a bit obtuse and doesn't catch it's stride until about ep4 but its pretty damn entertaining despite that.

And Maria the Virgin Witch is barely lewd at all despite some light sexual humor in the first few EPs. That one focuses entirely on a girl going out of her way to end war in her small corner of the world, touching on the interaction between human and witch society and the role of the gods in doing something to address the suffering of man. Maria and her crew are a seriously enjoyable cast of characters. You've probably picked up some of the best shows airing this season.

That last line is something for me to consider, but imagine if Spice and Wolf ends with Holo dying? Really doesn't matter how they kill an amazing character, always sucks :(

So I decided to watch Kill la Kill on mostly a whim. I saw so many absolutely insane gifs from it, and I just had to know why they were so weird.

It was weird, and definitely NSFW, but I think I liked it.

So a friend got me to start watching Unlimited Fafnir. I'm up to date on it now (watching for free on crunchyroll so I'm a week behind technically speaking) so I guess I'll write up a review on it like I usually do when I watch a new anime.

So, here goes.

I just finished Ping Pong. I remember seeing somebody in here a while back begging you guys to watch it. He was right. I kind of wrote it off because of the aesthetic before I knew about it, but I shouldn't have. Ping Pong was a ******* PHENOMENAL show and easily one of the best anime I've ever seen. It was one of those shows with everything in its right place, with the execution of everything nailed from start to finish. Just an absolute joy to watch.

I was disappointed with Kill la Kill frankly.

A show that absolutely oozed style from start to finish yes but one that ultimately left me dissatisfied with everything that could have been. Everything from the intro to the initial introduction of Tsumugu was absolutely sublime but after that point I feel like the show stumbles and is never able to quite pick up the pieces on the writing front. Tsumugu never does anything significant after that point. Nudist Beach, an organization that's implied to have much more significance to the overall arching plot, gets wrecked in a single episode. The "Fiber Bullet" plot point is completely dropped and forgotten about the moment it's brought up. Ryouko has the world bend over backwards to make up for her fuckups (how many times did she "get away" after being pummeled by Satsuki's forces?), the field trip arc was pointless and a waste of time, etc etc etc. It really feels like there was a major re-write during the middle of development where they just veer off into a completely different direction.
