also i finally got round to watching the latest episode of fate/stay, holy **** that guy was a beast, i have real trouble thinking of another anime which had fight scenes i've enjoyed as much as this series, if only some of them were a bit longer....

So I was looking through the anime I didn't watch this season and found a gem that I didn't expect.

Starts out seeming like just a generic ecchi/mech show, but there's a lot more to it than the first few episodes would have you expect. Yeah there's a lot of girl on girl stuff in here, but the show doesn't focus completely around it.
For a show dominated by boobs I'm surprised at how well they managed to make an interesting plot while still having time to define the characters. I've also never been a big fan of mech animes...fortunately the action sequences don't dominate over the plot either and are used strategically to either push the plot along or build on the characters more.

I wouldn't say it is one of my favorites, but definitely worth the watch as long as you don't mind the occasional yuri scene. If you're one of those weird people that is obsessed with the stuff, here's a show with an actual plotline to go with it.
Just be warned...the MC is a *****, a lovable one, but still a *****, and not all that interesting to be honest.

If you're not watching Cross-Ange ironically then you're doing it wrong. It's a continuation of a long line of Sunrise series trying and failing to recapture the perfect storm of absurdity that was Code Geass.

Been watching a bit of Gugure! Kokkuri-san and its been a decidedly fun bit of comedy. Probably not on Nozaki-kun's level but certainly something you can pull enjoyment from.

On a quick google search the writer of the source material (the light novel) is the same guy who wrote Log Horizon so I'm immediately interested from that fact alone. The director for the anime adaptation for Maoyu is the Spice and Wolf dude. Not sure why I haven't seen this one mentioned more often ... may have to check it out.

Btw, the funimation channel is now an app for PlayStation.
I went for a 14 day free trial so I can binge anime over the New Year that I've wanted to look into.y Would I pay another sub for this selection...eh probably not right now because the app doesn't even have a way to save shows to a queue right now, but seeing how I can watch it from my PlayStation and have access to a lot of shows Crunchyroll doesn't have I might as well take advantage of it now with the free time.

Let me give my top year choices some thought - for now I found this;

What's special about it is who did the dubbing Animax, normally a ****** company, this is there rare good one - I've looked everywhere for this copy, it's really hard to find on streaming until recently.
The english voice for Maria is probably one of the best voice actors of all time, the voices in general in this dub are original.
also just finished Nobuna's recently Dub release - another very well done dub. Beautiful show too.
before I can pick my top ten I need to watch Yona and a few other shows <3
