Tomorrow, the Feast of the Years begins in my homeland. Furthermore, I have noticed none of you have visited my homeland, so it would be perfect to embark for my lands tomorrow. The mission has been delayed by a day, as we must plan and stock on anything that may be of use for us here." ok I well just slide right in then |

Frost awoke. But he kept his eyes closed as he laid still on the hill. His last experience still burning fresh in his mind like coals from a fire. After some time the young ranger mustered up enough courage to open his eye and the sight that greeted him took his breath away. The lands were not tinted red with blood, nor chocked with smoke and death. But green, the deepest most beautiful green frost had ever seen in his life. Frost propped hisself up on his elbow and took in the land scape. Rolling hills, forest, mountains, even some cities littered the vast country in front of him...yet something felt off. Like frost shouldn't be here, as if he was never born and was merely intruding on some other persons lands, or more precisely, their dreams. "Marvelous isn't it?" Frost jumped up and reached for his sword in surprise, but it was nowhere to be found, not on the ground or by his side. He looked for where the voice had come from. Not a soul was by him. And yet... "Now hold on there we're just-" frost spun around on his heel and saw his guest, he was terrified at what may happen so instinct told him to send a haymaker of a punch the voices way. And to frost astonishment his fist landed on a target. Hard and fast. The cloaked...person... Fell to the ground, holding there jaw. Frost hadn't noticed before the person had a distinctly gender neutral body type, and a shifting voice that sounded like a man, then a child, then a woman. And after noticing these things frost realized something else. This...person...was the one mourning the fallen from his last visit. Frost stood staring at the...person...for maybe three minutes until they moved. Frost sighed in relief, he had honestly thought he had killed someone by accident. "You didn't have to hit me..." The person said in a cross, womanly voice that sounded like Reta for a moment. "Uh...sorry, ranger instinct says hit first, then see if it died, then help it up." Frost couldn't help but feel guilty. He extended his hand out to the being of confusion in front of him. The being gladly accepted. "You have quite the right hook for some one who fights left handed." The person said In a deep manly voice, much like aegis. "Thanks, but how did you know I was left handed?" Frost inquired, not in a shaking voice, or confused voice but in a polite tone. "When you reached for...what ever you were reaching for you used your left hand across to your right side. Generally right handed fighters have their weapon on their left side for a quicker draw speed and a..." The person trailed off as they saw frost staring confused at them. "Sorry, we can get side tracked at times." "We? Who is we?" "Me." "But you said we." " ...and we is me, see?" " if you start rhyming I swear I'll knock you out again." "Again, we can become side tracked." Frost threw his arms up in the air in annoyance. The person...people... Shook their head, or heads? Frost wasn't sure what to think. "Who are you?" Frost finally asked. "That's the right question! Now come with us, we have something to show you." The cloaked figure began to walk down the hill and frost followed. The "pair" if you could say that quickly descended down the hill. "You see. The world as you know it is going to end. There is no way around it, no matter what you do, it will end." The being said in an awfully cheery, child voice. It made frost stop in his tracks. "What?" Frost could only squeak up. "You ask a lot of questions young Adryan, but that is expected." "How do you know my name? I never told you!" "Again with a question. If you would let me finish, maaaaaaybe, I'd be able to explain?" "No, no no no, I will not listen to some crazy...THING...tell me how the world will end! I already saw it! The behemoth will rise and..." The being turned and faced frost, it's face could not be seen under the heavy hood that enveloped its head. A deep sinister voice erupted from the recesses of the cowl. "YOU WILL LISTEN TO ME YOU INSOLENT FOOL! WE ARE NOT HERE TO HARM YOU!" Frost was taken aback by the being. The figure in front of him was anger personified. It's entire form quaked and the sky became red. It stood there looking at frost, no, through frost. Until it began to relax again, a soft gentle voice of a woman came from the hood. "We are here, to warn you... For you are to help bring about a better world for every being." Frost nodded, the sky became a deep blue again. "And, will I be alone?" "No child...there will be many to help you, and you will help them. But you must listen." Frost looked astonished, the vision, was a possibility, not a definitive answer. A question really. With frost and select others being the real answer. "Alright. I'll listen to what you have to say." Frost finally said after delegation with himself. "You must never tell anyone what I am to tell you. Not even the gods, nor your loved one. You will take our knowledge to the grave with you. If you ever do share it, all will be lost..." So frost began to walk and listen to the being. And learned many things about what was to come. But only in riddles and small hints as to the what was to happen. Frost listened, hanging on every word, phrase, sentence... Until he dropped to sleep on the spot... White light enclosed around frost as his conscience drifted away, into oblivion.
Cairn sat at the make shift bed frost was laid on. He had not left his friend's side for the three days he had slept. Some said he would never come back, others differed. A betting pool had been made for the occasion. Cairn hated it. "Hey" grim said as he walked into the sick bay. "He'll come back." Grim was there to help cairn. He was the medic after all. "Maybe." Cairn was withdrawn, he had seen his best friend, nay, his brother fall on the field. Little hope was in his heart. Grim patted his ranger-brother on the shoulder. And right at that moment. The exact second. Frost's eye's shot open |

Galrick looked at Vektor, waiting for a reply, then back at the sphere. It was, no doubt, liquid, but he had not seen any fluid element with an isotope heavy enough to emit such amounts of gamma radiation. Was it a new element? He could only wonder, since bringing back a sample for a mass spectrometer would not be possible under Vektor's watch. |

5aEKUXeRJGJ27kCDnDVYak4q wrote:((would like to participate, anyone care to do a TLDR? cheers)) Greetings, comrade! Here is the timeline (from what I remember):
1. Sand nation and Venezzia born.
2. They mess around; thread not taken seriously yet.
3. Vyzion comes in.
4. I, The Grand Liberator of the Grand Dwarven Nation of Lucia, come in this forsaken world, sharing the promise of liberty, and freedom, amongst the people.
5. Oh noes! Golems attack!
6. Silly reader! There is no number six!
7. Oh noes! Barbarians attack! Wait, there are barbarians?
8. Revolution in Venezzia! Alixenus overthrows the Government (with help, of course)!
8. Oh noes! ZOMBIES!
9. The Dark Arcanum is the cause!
Somewhere between 5-9. A wild Thanatos appears!
10. Sandromin goes to Thanatos!
11. I, the master of all masters, follow him.
12. Alixenus does things! I cannot remember what!
Somewhere between 8-12. Brutus appears! He is a giant with no homeland. Wait, later in the story, he does have one! OMG plot twist! *Everything previously said had spoilers. DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO BE SPOILED*
13. Thanatos and Sandromin ride in a time-car-thing to the infested logipriest homeland. Did I mention they were zombies? ZOMBIES!
14. I, the holiest of holies, follow them.
15. We all meet eachother in the capital. We all enter some temple. It has the book!
16. I, for the most noble of reasons, attack Thanatos. We fight, then he gets brutally stabbed by some magic woman. Who knew?
17. The temple collapses, Indiana Jones style!
18. I grab the book, then leave the temple with Sandromin.
19. Galrick appears! He is the leader of a super high-tech robotic hive mind. Except they don't have guns. Ah, balance!
20. They surround us! Sandromin seems to be in league with them. I escape!
21. Zombies stop. They all burn into smithereens, except for a few.
22. I get back to Lucia.
23. Some plot filler happens, I generally cannot remember what. Freedom and Fate get introduced here.
24. Politicks! An assembly is called by Alixenus and Thanatos. Yes, he is alive! Spoilers? That is what you get by not reading 51 pages of Five-Star Storytelling.
25. We all come.
26. Mostly filler.
27. Nexhawk projects his fiery voice into the assembly. He rules a nation of fire-magic users. They are in a civil-war with the hydromancers (if you cannot guess what they wield, get out. Now).
28. People recognize I have the book, my mind snaps and I go mad. *Video has no meaning, I just want to be a smart-alike.*
29. I teleport to Fate, she converts me.
30. Alixenus, Thanatos, who appears there, and Brutus, and Galrick, leave and somehow get on an airship.
31. After my talk with Fate, I am teleported to Nexhawk.
32. He hears the truth, but still prefers to hear the lie, so he gets on a phoenix, and plans to leave to Thanatos.
33. I go with him.
34. Brutus jumps out of the ship, and finds a little girl(?).
35. Alixenus, Sandromin, and Thanatos have a meeting.
36. They finish.
37. They spot Nexhawk and Xavier...
Alright! That is the summary! Ah, sarcasm! Anyway, please tell me if I forgot some filler.
P.S. There is a lot of lore that I am not going into. Maybe another day.

Sorry guys. Life moves and I struggle to keep up. I have been spending time on the forums without replying to this thread, and for that I feel extremely guilty. It's just that, well, I don't know. I have no excuses; merely laziness.
_
The gap between the mainland and the logipriest island was merely a vine's swing apart, yet sitting on the edge of the cliffs, looking at the calm waters of the channel far below, it felt to me like a gap between worlds.
Standing on my bare lap, one leg on each of my thighs, Conyr, now two years old, stared across the abyss to the mountainous Lucia on the other side. My arms were wrapped around his small body, and his head rested against my chest.
"In those mountains live the dwarves."
He burbled something indistinct, and raised a hand, reaching across. The green of his skin, each individual rounded fingernail on the outstretched fingers of the open palm, I saw his hand in startling clarity before my vision blurred and I realised tears cloaked my eyes, veiled myself from my son. I lifted a hand and wiped my eyes with two fingers, wiping the tears on the rough ground.
"Dwarves, the smallest creatures I've ever known, in the largest mountains I've ever seen. Funny, hmm?"
Conyr's arm was still outstretched, and looking down at his small head with little tufts of brownish hair on it, I saw his jaw moving frantically but silently.
"You feel it, don't you? The tug of the world."
Conyr's hand fell limp but his eyes, ever luminous, remained fixed on the steel-grey wall, the natural protection that was harnessed to great extent by the dwarves.
"We are blessed never to feel pain from a small cut, even a large gash. We are blessed to be able to live longer than most, and die peacefully in our sleep, our bodies only feeling tired, never old." I stood up, raising my son up over my head and letting him sit on my shoulders, my arms holding his ankles. He giggled madly. "This is our power, and we share it with no-one but ourselves."
I turn away from the mountains. Conyr relaxed his back and allowed himself to flip upside down, his head between my shoulderblades, gazing at the mountains which in his vision, would now be stretching down.
"But you're different, Conyr. You can share our power."
-
Conyr lay awake, concentrating furiously. The cool breeze, the warm body he lay against, the voice, the-
"I'm PRETTY again!"
And the dream was gone. Conyr shut his eyes tight and clenched his fists, frustrated.
"Pretty, pretty, pretty!"
Next to him, Hakyi's voice was murmuring fiercely, muttering in a strange language, but Conyr recognised one word. "Wyngad."
"Raveral, Raveria, LOOK! I'm not burned anymore!"
Strange clicking noises made Conyr shiver down to his very bones, and he sat up. The voice was instantly silenced.
It was dark, and as Conyr breathed in damp, earthy air and listened to his own breathing, feeling the oppressive weight around him, he knew he was underground.
He heard the sound of bubbling water, muffled but distinct, in the direction of the voice.
Shakily, Conyr stood up and instantly bashed his head against the low ceiling, nearly knocking himself out again. He fell heavily back onto the rough blanket he was sleeping on and visions flashed before his eyes. Him and Hakyi sand surfing, the Lucian ravine, the channel between the logipriest island and the mainland- his dream! He remembered something, something to do w-
A scratching noise interrupted Conyr and suddenly his vision exploded with white, blinding him. Conyr cried out in pain as his pupils contracted rapidly, and he curled into a ball, eyes tightly shut.
"Well, I ain't expected that. This boy should be dreaming still. I was thinking Raveral bit him nice and good. Raveral, you bit him good, yes?"
Clicking in reply.
"I thought so. Strange. It must be a magical day. I wake up all pretty like, and this boy wakes up before the man from our special concoction - ooooh, I love that word, don't you, Raveria? -, and he wakes up, yes, and he's looking at me now, hello, boy!"
Conyr didn't reply. He stared at the dwarf, a female dwarf, with large brown doe's eyes and long, greasy brown hair which reached her knees. This, Conyr thought, wasn't much to boast about, since her head looked to only reach his stomach level. She was young, Conyr guessed, although he knew nothing about dwarves. She spoke, her mouth forming words as rough as the rock that surrounded them.
"Well, now that you're awake and fresh, it's time to be eaten!"
Conyr frowned, not thinking he heard correctly. "Sorry?" His voice was raspy and he suddenly realised he had a raging thirst.
The dwarf lady walked closer, smiling. "I said..."
And before Conyr knew it, his hands and legs were tied together, and he was being dragged towards the sound of boiling water. |
