Kirito even went so far as to say if she had been in SAO he wouldn't of never been chosen as the dual wielder - and that makes sense to me. Kirito may has an experience other gamers lack that gives him the killing edge, but actual reflexes, skills, and other variables, they all float to him whenever he needs them.
But a character like who whose dedicated her life *unwillingly* to games? Of course she should be better, and there should be many, many, many other players like that out there. She also had the advantage because the Medicuboid is better than the Nerve Gear. One is a device that can hold a human in it, and another is a device that is worn on the head. It's like comparing a phone and a PC/Console. It's like if Kirito was playing in 30FPS and she was playing in 60FPS, his system just doesn't react as fast. shes just good :P i dont think they had anything to do with it tbh XD i just was like well yeah hes not gonna always be the best of the best... but honestly i rekon kill la kill is better than it :D kill la kill is like one of my favs <3 and apparently there's a squeal coming out :D I read the author's notes, he mentioned that as an advantage. Not saying she wasn't good.

Not an anime, but I'm doing a rewatch of korra, then picking through my harddrive for shows I need to delete or complete.
Ladies vs butlers and Seikon no Qwaser are definitely going though.
For the people who've enjoyed SAO and want something with just a little bit more comedy, I highly recommend Tower of Druaga (both seasons).

Ladies vs Butlers is much the same, but waaaaay more tamed over-all, I kinda wish it had a season 2 actually, it's one of those few anime where the main guy is just totally cool.
No Game no Life and Log Horizon are good picks for people who like a multitude of different genres.
If you want some recommendations give me a genre and i'll give you the best shows it has it offer. |

I actually respect Nozomi a lot. She did a lot of work behind the scenes, and had nothing but u's' best interests in mind the whole time. In the second season when we learned her backstory I just liked her more. Still though, Maki is best girl. Honoka is probably my second favorite though because she had the most growth. She started out as a typical klutzy airhead, and grew into a leader. Someone who faced hardships, faced despair, and almost quit. She didn't though, she pulled the group together, led them through Love Live! and was the Student Council President to boot. By the ending she was almost better than Maki. Almost...
Kill La Kill was good. Can someone say midseason plot twist? It was insane though. So the badguy.... Is clothes?
I'm feeling really outta the loop currently. I really haven't watched any of the 2015 seasons. I'm trying to catch up on basically everything between 2012-2014. The most recent one (in terms of when it aired, not when I watched it) I've seen was Yurikuma Arashi. Man that was weird. I honestly can't really recommend it though. It was confusing, and sorta boring.
Currently I'm on the second season of A Certain Scientific Railgun, and I'm loving it. Misaka is so badass. She be blowing up helicopters, while upside-down, while in free fall. I'm trying to determine if I wanna watch the second season of Index. See, I didn't really like the first season of Index except for the Accelerator arc, but I did like Railgun's first season. The 4 episode arcs on Index's first season really threw me.
The one's I'm most excited for are Yuru Yuri's third season, Saki's third season (hopefully not just another side story), and the Girls und Panzer movie.
Though, if I could vote any anime for getting another season, it'd definitely be Engaged to the Unidentified. It really feels like it needs it. If they did, I'd hope they put more focus on Kobeni and Hakuya, and give Nadeshiko more screen time. Please, she needs it.

watch it for biribiri, lord knows that the only reason i did, i get so mad at touma, rather than do anything intelligent all he does is stand around, cries about friendship and feels and punches the bad guy after an episodes worth of monologue. he's got a really cool power and plot line but they ruin it by making him one of the dullest and most infuriating characters possible.

yet, the railgun still can not beat touma komijo. if you have not seen a certain magical index yet, i suggest you watch it. it is the precursor to railgun

Just an incredibly good season for me, from Kekkai to Dungeon to Food Wars to the new dubs of several anime, including Miagical Warfare, with more to come.
But running around anime news sites i found several of them reported the same article - Evengalions creator or director, one or the other, was claiming the death of the industry in 20 years, claiming less then minimal wages and lack of talent to be the sources.
In the report, he claims the real talent of the industry gets picked up by more lucrative businesses, leaving the anime industry with die-hards, who range from otaku to useless.
Echoing his words is the great anime director, Miyazaki himself. Claiming the problem with the anime industry is that it's full of useless otaku's.
The article claims that in the near future, the quality in anime we enjoy today, will likely begin to plummet.

http://comicbook.com/2015/05/25/neon-genesis-evangelion-creator-predicts-death-of-anime-within-2/ When is someone not predicting the death of a popular industry? Anime is a subjective medium, but I guess we'll see in a few years. When does the season end?

This is moe and nothing but. But where as I found myself turned off by episode 3 to other moe shows, or, pretty much all the other moe shows outside of Dog Days, I found myself enjoying Mosaic.
If you watched the first episode you probably think you understand me, but you don't. Though it's easily the strongest episode in the series, it has very little of what carried the show for me:
Karen.
Her boken japanese dialect, spontaneous yet adorable behavior aligned more with a tsundere but without a SHRED of tsun, she is the very pinnacle of moe.
Where Yuru Yuri had Kyoko Toshino, Mosiac has Karen Kujo.
Karen easily the better character, too :)
Take it back. Kyoko Toshino is the pinnacle of tsundere. She tsun's so hard the dere hardly even exists. I mentioned that Engaged was my first choice for another season, but then I remembered that Love, Chuunibyo, and Other Delusions exists. That's my real first choice for another season. Welp, I'm off too go watch the second season of Index. Is it wrong that Accelerator is one of my favorite anime villains of all time? Kyoko isn't even really a tsundere, she's not hot then cold, she's constantly hot and bubbly.
She's exactly like Karen, all the great qualities that make Tsundere's interesting to watch without actually being one. |

Final Fantaasy Type 0 -
They really had an opportunity here to break free from the Final Fantasy legacy with gameplay and visuals and become something we can equally expect to be good as they used to be.
From a cinematic beginning that puts most games to shame - the very concept this world is build around, a reality version of final fantasy, it had so much going for it.
included is a MASSIVE cast of characters, which should of been another strength of the game, but this is where it begins to fall apart. But i'll get to that in a second, first, gameplay:
It's basically Tales of games thrown in with a Dynasty Warriors experience. You control 1 of 3 characters out of 12+ who fight completely differently and be further customized for game styles, and they battle around an area closed off, much like a Kingdom Hearts game, where you need to kill all the enemies to continue.
That's pretty much the gist of gameplay, you beat up enemies, move to next area, rinse and repeat.
But is the actual fighting fun? I would say so, it's very fast pace, and even if you set it on easy for a friend to play for a moment he'll likely get his ass kicked, it's VERY easy to die and **** up in this game. You'll one hit most of your enemies - and they'll return the favor.
That's where the fast pace comes into play - you'll be looking to dodge attacks or block them rather then take them. Your basic defense points aren't enough to withstand punishment for any given time, but you can enhance yourself or the area around in several ways to diminish damage or avoid it completely.
One of my favorite strategies is to set up a magical barricade in front of me as I set up to cast strong magic spells behind it. This is also where the visuals come into play to enhance the experience, as you begin to enhance your spell with chanting - your barricade will get plummeted by enemies who realize what's going on and switched to heavier weaponry. They'll hit that barricade hard, and it looks fantastic as each hit lands and it begins to crack.
Enemies getting around your barricade with strange spells and speed? Then cast Protect! Or Shell! Or one of the many defensive spells FF is well known for that serve as an actual ability rather then effect cast magic you use once then enjoy a stat increase.
it's the harmonious nature of melee + magic + range that creates masterful looking battles. It almost creates story book moments while fighting.
but after 10 or 20 hours the same repetitive actions and enemies will begin to grind on you - battle system may be good, but the questing mechanic boggles down the experience to boil down to kill x then bring to y. Shame.
Story: Now this is where the game shined so hard it blinded me for a second. And only for a second. It starts off SO DAMN STRONG. EPIC!!!!! And as the story progresses it trys to keep that level of intrigue and interest, but it's brought down by the writers inability to make us give 2 fucks about any of these characters.
and it's confusing - because the start of the show we care quite a bit about a character whose name we don't even know! But by the time the game starts, the only character we built attachment too is gone, and replaced by a cast of characters, who, 30 hours into the game, i barely know still.
and then major events happening in the world is given 2-3 lines explaining them then it's done with. if someone told me a different studio handled the introduction to this game i'd believe it, it's like two different companies took two different approaches during the same game story telling design.
How are the cast themselves? If you take a generic look, they look like an amazing group to watch interact. A few typical nut-job females for the fan service, few for the ladies too, but mostly the cast is serious and well thought out. But the dialogue leaves much to be desired. There just isn't enough of it to help us clearly define who these people are, and it's cut up between so many cast members that i sometimes confuse who they even are.
Conclusion: What could of been a fantastic - even mind blowing game, was instead turned into a pretty good experience. This is one of those games that i hope gets remade someday with slight improvements, because those slight improvements would lead to massive quality jumps. Over-all, i would recommend this game to almost anyone who enjoys games, as it has a little for everyone.
Gameplay: 8 Story: 7.5 Characters; 6 Graphics: 9
i give it my seal of recommendation. |

i give it my seal of recommendation. I kept seeing commercials for this game on Crunchyroll. I thought about trying it sometime, but I'd have to play it on computer, and let's face it, computer controls suck. I was quite drawn to the world, atmosphere, and large cast of characters. My favorite Final Fantasy of all time is Final Fantasy X. It was fantastic. I especially loved being able to switch out my characters mid-battle. I'm not gonna lie, after I beat the game I spent 90% of my time playing blitzball.

i just finished re-watching Tokyo Ravens dub.
The original show got a 8.5/10 from me, incredible visuals and voice acting with a great plot lead to one of the best anime for fantasy/action in a long time.
How does the Dub fair?
Equal in almost every way.
There's only 1 character whose voice i had a gripe with - as it didn't fit the character he was trying to portray, but other then one minor character, the rest of the cast was spot on.
One of the reason I chase after Dubs so often is because, unlike subtitles, you can fully enjoy what's on the screen and all it's beauty. Those moments you take to read a subtitle you just missed a moment on screen. Shows like Heaven's Lost Property, Spice and Wolf, and other very visual pleasing shows with decent voice acting actually help the show become more enjoyable.
Tokyo Raven is one such show, just beautiful to watch, even the slice of life moments are great.
But there's another Dub i just watched and finished and will be listing as one of the great dubs - Absolute Duo.
i've 0 complaints so far on voice acting, and in fact, probably enjoyed the Dub more then the Sub, just like Tokyo Raven, this show is a pleasure to behold. Though not as much as Tokyo Ravens, which i wish a S2 would come for but i doubt they could keep up those production qualities. |

I have now caught up on Plastic Memories.
Oriignally - I dropped it because the cast was cut-n-copy generic, you had your tsundere, the smart mouth kid to accompany her, the well spoken intellectual, the beefy athletic, the useless people, the over achievers, the ladies man, over-talkative blonde bimbo, and a quite loli.
Then throw in the main character whose put in a setting that IS ******* OBVIOUS WHAT THE RIGHT MORALE DECISIONS ARE BUT THEY LIVE IN A BRAIN DEAD WORLD APPARENTLY. So he comes off looking like a hero for using ******* COMMON SENSE.
That kind of **** upsets me in a plot line. It's the reason Aldnoha Zero or whatever it's called is complete GARBAGE. You do your best to make the world believable, the moment it becomes obvious the world went stupid for the sake of a character, your show has turned into trash beyond help.
but it wasn't a huge deal with Plastic Memories, as the actual anguish i'm complaining over was a minor plot-line. Everyone else just seems to find it acceptable to give something intelligence then give it no thought of it's own thought and feelings that you programmed them to have independently. it's like this world just wants to be ******** to set up dramatic effects.
But if you get past this, and a few other irks in the plot line... the interaction between the characters is quite enjoyable. The main heroine, mrs loli, is actually quite the interesting character.
After a while the show takes on the story of Your Lie In April, but without the issue of emotional attachment, i don't give a **** about you lil lady, the show didn't let me. I only know brief moments shown in your history of who you are, and that's quite literally it. You acting cute all the god damn time isn't a reason to connect with you.
But I do like the direction the show is going - and when it reaches it's peak i'm sure i will love it. But it'll never have the emotional attachment Your Lie In April created by beautiful show-casing it's cast piece by piece as it became important to understand them.
Plastic Memories does this, with a single character, and the rest are left to dry. And i really do like mrs Tsundere, she's great, but she's not carrying the show for me.
Story: 6 Characters: 6 Animation: 8.5 over-all: 6.5

EDIT: Red head chick sucks. dude is in love with a robot. way too weird for me. I'd do it, perfect woman..it'd be great I actually have 0 problem with it - as anime fans we should understand what it means to love something inanimate. But this actually interacts with thoughts and feelings in real life - if it existed I'm sure marriage laws would be completely re-done, as Japan already has a few guys wed to there dolls, literally.
and i do like her, but Tsundere-chan is the more interesting character, and the rest of the cast could die and be replaced and i might think the show better for it.
it may seem like i hated PM - but i didn't, it's enjoyable. I will definitely be continuing it, but i've seen it get way too much praise for doing things it deserves no praise for.
The only real praise i give it is how they're playing out the loli's last moments - it's a serious build up, and an enjoyable one. With each of her **** ups laying down on her, and you can actually sense how each **** up is effecting her. The show does build up extremely well, you will tear up from time to time.
But only for the moments that play out so well, far as building characters go, they're doing a terrible job. Main character went from new guy to love sick idiot, the show even mentions one time how that effects work, then feels thats enough effort wasted on realism and goes back to cute. lol |
