Oh god, you're going to be low on options then. Maybe try "Lovely Complex"? It's older but I'm not sure they'll have it. Maybe Nagi no Asukara (I never managed to finish that one myself). Macross Frontier dabbles with romance themes and is overall a pretty solid show but it's more in the mecha genre, Escaflowne is pretty similar. There's always Chobits too.
If you don't mind reverse harem you could go with Ouran Highschool Host Club or Hakuouki.
I'm not really sure of many others off the top of my head as it's not a genre I watch very often.

just wanting to add (not sure if someone else listed them yet because i just made a large post and want to get off here and saw anime and thought "I must see"
1. Clannad
2. Kanon (Kanon 2006)
3. Sword Art Online (1 and 2 and 3 is coming out late this year)
4. Log horizon (1 and 2 i think 3 is also coming out soon this year)
5. No Game No Life
6. Ano Hana
7. Watamote (everyone pretty much relates to this one tbh)
8. Detroit Metal City (this is one of the anime that made me cry in laughter)
9. Kampfer (it is abit of an echi but all in all its pretty good story line with alot of comedy)
10. full metal alchamy (i havent scene it but i heard its the best one and its on my list)
11. kiss x sis (i had to go there :P its funny anyway i watched it for the humor i swear (not a lie ))
its a list that has a few different genres but they are all pretty good depending on personal taste.
Edit: anddd its over 100pages. good thing i didnt read through past the first page :3

Sengoku rance is quite a fun game if you can get into the mechanics.

Eureka Seven is a romance on Netflix, you just have to take it with a side of giant robots fighting eachother on giant surfboards high up in the air. Fun times!

Talk about surprise of the season.
What initially gives a viewer the impression of your by the books harem comedy with a deadpan protagonist turns into something decidedly more interesting halfway into the first episode. It's two parts a really fluffy, enjoyable show with a likable cast of characters that you can turn your brain off to and, seemingly out of no where, becomes a really ******* well executed battle anime too.
If you have a high tolerance for cute (I'm looking at you, Kancolle fans) and want something with production values that literally come out of no where, don't let this one pass you by.
Also Ep. 3 is

So, I tried something I don't usually watch, which is rom-com.
After seeing it mentioned in a positive light multiple times on reddit, and CCP AquarHEAD's picture being one of the characters, I decided to step out of my comfort zone and watch it.
God dammit this show was hilarious, and by the end I was smiling like an idiot.
The characters are simply glorious, the interactions between them more so. These guys are more than the sum of their parts, they work off each other extreme well, and it was just glorious. Simply, and utterly, glorious.
Anyone else here watched it?

 You didn't mention the name, but I think I know exactly what you're talking about. Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo? (The pet girl of Sakurasou)
It definitely wasn't the best anime I've yet seen, and it definitely had its flaws (corniness being the main one. If I ever watch the Nyaboron part of the cultural festival arc then I have done something terribly wrong with my life), but in spite of all that it was a sheer joy to watch, and probably one of my favorite shows yet. You're right with the idea that it's more than the sum of its parts, looking back I can't think of any one particular element which truly stood out but while I was watching the show I had nothing but a good time.
PS: Shiina is best girl

I got up to the fifth Kara no Kyoukai movie last night and god those have been entertaining.
For anyone not familiar, they're set in the same universe as fate/stay night and fate/zero but they follow a small group of people who investigate paranormal / magical deaths. Most of the stories are told out of order and there's some pretty heavy aspects of psychological strangeness/horror going on within them. One of the main characters Shiki Ryouko possesses an incredibly special set of eyes that basically allow her to kill anything.
