If you didn't put My Love Story from CR on your list you'll be missing out on a classic tale that can do little wrong.
Maybe it's just me, but I've been waiting for anime to explore the romance genre scene more.
5 mins in episode 1 - I already adore it.

The director is quite talented in orechestraing our emotions to jump around too, that bathroom bit and the comedic bit at the very end changing the scenes tone in an instant without missing a beat really makes the show great.
Looking forward to more - Onward to the next show! What else is there? <3

Plastic Memories - 01
Not quite what I was expecting given the original synopsis. Asimov style Robot novels have conditioned me to think that pretty much any future society in which you deal with near-human intelligent robots will immediately start dealing with things like the line between sentience and non-sentience and the interaction between creator and creation in these worlds. So going in I was surprised at how "person-like" the robots were and how there didn't seem to be any question among those who worked alongside or lived with robots of the inherent worth of the androids they interacted with. They're almost pretty much entirely treated like "people with arbitrarily short life spans" vs. "artificial beings meant to do X, Y, or Z tasks". Given this it actually felt like a bit of an inconsistency in the world to see how uncaringly the catalog treated the distinct personalities of the androids involved when it came to the notion of potential replacements for discounts.
Regardless, the emotional well being of both robots and humans are regarded when it comes to the role the company plays in dealing with the androids that have reached their limit. This is a story about death, and the different ways in which people deal with that inevitable fate. First episode sets up a pretty solid foundation for the series in the future, lending itself to a certain amount of episodic flair for the structure of the story, though we'll see if that remains the case. I'm interested in seeing more.
Show by Rock - 01
Lol. Probably the only time the introduction of heavy amounts of CG hasn't immediately turned me off but the show as a whole probably isn't for me. I'll probably check out some impressions down the line to see if it holds up but at this point I think I'm going to let this one go.
gbghg wrote: the switch at the end felt too abrupt too to me, it happened so fast it felt more awkward than funny. the rest of the episode was handled brilliantly though.
Agreed on this one, it was an enjoyable bit in and of itself but the timing at the end of the episode given everything that had preceded it just felt like it trivialized the impact of that scene.
Ice Royal Glantix wrote: Kekkai Sensen: However, if it is going to continue to be as shit as that first episode, then this show will be nothing but a disappointment.
Owari no Seraph: This is how a first episode should be done.

my love story- great episode. that big dude just makes the show. gunslinger stratos- so far so good the subaru show surprisingly was not bad gintama is back beotches some new show about a cat god and the zodiac, not bad
im sure there is some more that i am missing and i will check that magikano show out sota. |

I disagree!
Plastic Memories - 02
There are avenues of story telling here that could be explored and aren't. Given the premise and the foundation laid down in the first episode I was expecting for the series to focus more on a look into how the relationship between the robots and humans had developed during the course of their life span and the specific means in which both person and robot is able to cope with the loss of that forged connection. There's a lot of potential story telling fodder there in just coming at it from that angle alone, but with how distinctly humanlike each robot is you'd also expect to see situations where maybe the robot outright didn't like the person it was assigned to or the tasks it was forced to do while in its care. What of abandoned robots that meet their inevitable ends alone? What's done in a situation where the owners have died before the robot has? There's a lot here to really push that there is simultaneously an uncrossable boundary between the robots and humans that exists as well as pushing how truly alike we are in all the ways that really matter.
What we get instead is a show thats bent backwards to become a by the books slice of life. Generic the character protagonists that are utterly forgettable and "humor" that quickly crosses the boundary into grating is what we're treated with and it's sincerely disappointing. No, I'm sorry, there's only so many times that you can make Isla being woefully incompetent at the basics of her job entertaining. The show's gonna need to show me a lot more in the next couple weeks to keep me interested. If episode 2 is any indication of the direction we'll be seeing instead I think I'll be opting out.

Plastic is likely going to be a very easy to out guess show from the looks of it, but i haven't seen episode 2 quite yet. Re-watching Fairy Tail for some reason, lol.
On another note - IGN launched a pod-cast/group called Anime Club, so I decided to go check it out. I already dislike it, the pod-cast is nothing but girls complaining, and the community doesn't even know the difference between non-fiction and fiction...
I see why you have so many pet-peeve concerning anime now, Foundation. People talking non-sense like it's the truth and they know it o.0

Hard to say if the show is predictable given that we're only 2 episodes in. I'm giving it some leeway in its current state because it's the Steins;Gate writer and based on that alone there's potential for some crazy ridiculous plot swerve to put us in a completely different direction. I will say that Episode 2 ends with confirmation of what we all suspected from episode 1, though lol. Spoilers? Maybe. Hard for me to get too emotionally invested given how much I hate everyone in the show at the moment.
As for the pet peeves/nitpicky/critical nature of my thoughts on a lot of shows I think I feel like I see other anime, read books, or see tv series that take on a lot of the same themes or similar takes on X or Y concept and just ... do it better. So when I see what is essentially a discounted version of something I really loved or another wholly uninsipired rendition of something i've seen hundreds of times before then I point out the crap that I feel like could be done better or has been done better by other pieces of media. I just have a basis for comparison here.

I don't disagree with you foundation, characters are pretty generic right now, obvious plot spoiler was obvious, and it'd be nice for an anime with an interesting premise to have a good story for once (looking at you aldnoah). But there's definitely potential, I'm expecting a curveball of some kind when what's his name finds out how much time Isla has left. But I'm gonna hedge my bets and expect an average, somewhat enjoyable slice of life. If it ends up exploring some interesting transhumanism and robotic topics I'd be very happy.

Blood Blockade Battlefront aka Kekkai Sensen - 2
Yeah, this is far and away my show of the season. As I mentioned before the show is set in a "Supernatural New York" where humans live among various monstrous figures. I've been talking recently about "storytelling fodder" and Im glad that they seem to be exploring all the weird ways organized crime and aliens, monsters, and supernatural creatures can interact. Episode 2 feels like a more structured episode in where, since there's no longer a need to lay out tons of exposition, there's more focus on the individual story that they want to tell here. And the result is a wonderfully chaotic, well executed, and super entertaining episode.
Soundtrack is awesome too. Theme of Blood Blockade Battlefront http://a.pomf.se/akijoa.mp3 Catch Me If You Can http://a.pomf.se/qdgams.mp3 Snap out http://a.pomf.se/lbjpdm.mp3 Toy Blues http://a.pomf.se/mwmadk.mp3 Footloose http://a.pomf.se/rjiwao.mp3

The witches show was actually showed as a manga first on crunchy roll.
When they first launched the service I checked it out and that was the manga I picked - it's pretty good.
But, alas, I just got Akiba: Undead and Undressed. I tried it on PS3 and gave up very early because of some very noticeable flaws, such as how obvious PS3 couldn't handle the games performance in rendering anything. It's no wonder the city was cut up into so many different parts.
But the PS4 handles it beautiful - giving a much more satisfying and Akiba experience. Never touch the PS3 version. It just can't handle the game.

Mine runs great I've had no issues, though I'd rather be taking girls clothes off on a 50+ inch screen It's the city itself that makes the difference - on the PS3 - everyone would basically spawn in with you then populate the area - it really reminded you you were playing a game - and the way the city is divided up does a good enough job ruining any chance of being engulfed in the narrative which is already pretty poorly done, even for a visual novel.
But the PS4 it's just the way the game is intended, which really helps with the millions side quests making you do tons of different things rather then the same thing over and over.
fun game - but I just bought GTAV with that 1.25mil shark card - <3
