I get that you're trying to be clever but there's a difference between discussing a show in a way that might be spoilery to someone not introduced to the series and just throwing out a haphazard sequence of important events in a show. One promotes discussion and the other is a laundry list of items that says nothing about the quality of the series. The former should be something we strive to push in this thread rather than something that allows you to raise your hand and say "I saw this thing too!".

So let's talk about Korra.

Book 3 did a fantastic job of retroactively going back and fixing everything thats been bugging me since the introduction of the series. We finally get some backstory on Bolin and Mako that characterizes them in ways that take them beyond "Generic Comic Relief" and "Generic Potential Love interest". We finally get some episodes that explore more than just the overarching plot and allow you to experience the characters and the world they inhabit, it's the first time that we've come close to the original ATLA's style of just thoroughly exploring the setting and with less interest on shoving a badly written story in a single season we get the opportunity to let the characters breathe.

And finally Korra isn't retroactively saved by the world due to the plot armor attributes of being the Avatar and all powerful. I liked the decision back in Book 2 to cut her off from her past lives (though that season was riddled with other problems that sincerely effected my enjoyment of it) but I think the ending of Book 3 really is more directly contrasting with Book 1's ending. She was crippled in a similarly significant way but unlike Book 1 she has to actually deal with the consequences, and how she does so has me sincerely looking forward to Book 4.

I disliked the korra book 3 ending.

In The legend of ang. it is already stated that the Avatar State is the accumulation of all the skill and experiences of all the previous and past avatars. If she lost her connection to them then how is avatar state even possible? Also due to the shows time constraints.. They have left many things out. Who is Zaheer? where did he come from? How did he become an airbending master at day one? How did he accomplish an air bending grand master move only days after getting air bender powers? I am talking about his ability to fly. only one air bender in history has ever done that. Sure we got some mako and bolin back story but they also left alot of holes. Sure Zaheer is red lotus but that is about all we know. He must have some kind of connection to ang to have to be taught all of this air bender history and his grasp of the moves but that is just speculation.

It seems to me that the writers are now trying to pull off extremes to keep user attention. Like moths to a flame, they are just lighting flames to keep you wondering wtf? Which is not bad... unless you have very few episodes to tie up those flames.

Are they copying or honoring the last air bender with the zaheer fight scene and dinoras ceremony to get her tatoos and shaving her head to make her look like ang?I think they should have had a different setting for the fight.. make it a little more original instead of flying around those rock pillars again. The dinora scene was fine, it was bound to happen eventually.

well i just finished binging avatar, oh my god that ending. for some reason the idea of korra killing herself so a new avatar can take her place if she's permanently crippled keeps coming back to me. and still no toph, book 3 got my hopes up then dashed them all over, i wanna see the blind bandit again already.
