Yeah, season two pis*ed me the F*ck off! Crying out loud! He's not kidding, I actually double checked to make sure I was watching the same series. The character changes were that extreme.

Done with SAO. It was great, and leaves me wanting more.
But now I need something else.
Help me out here.
I think I want to watch a romance next. I loved the adorable scenes in Chobits, and halfway through SAO (Trying to avoid spoilers, but you guys know what I mean. The two weeks on "vacation"), was also one of my favorite parts of SAO.
So, based off of those two, any ideas?
Also, don't mention Clannad. I haven't seen it yet, and I am not sure if I could handle it. It has been really over-hyped for me. |

Great show. Has ZERO replay value though. I don't think I could go through that again.
The last two episodes had me in the fetal position, looking at the screen in utter shock/terror. I give it a 9/10 though.
Like Neon Genesis Evangelion, just watch it. You may hate it by the end, but the ride was amazing, and it is a must see.

Fate/Stay Night is great. I love continuity in shows, because it makes it feel like a story instead of a show.
Might have to start reading the Visual Novels. Someone said if you don't, it's like reading Fellowship of the Ring and saying that the series was done. |

Though it's not by much if at all really.
I was told to watch it in that order for the following reason.
Railgun is kinda slice-of-life ish, and slower than Index. It also does a small introduction of the main character in Index, and doesn't overwhelm you with powers other than Esper. Think of it as a slow intro into Index, which then takes off on it's own story. Works cause the stories are independent.
Also, I don't think I could switch between two series like that. Gonna stick with what I got

SO. Heard a rumor on r/Anime that Fate/Stay-Night is getting a remake. By the same studio that did Fate/Zero. For those who don't know, Fate/Zero is a prequel to Fate/Stay-Night, but was done by a DIFFERENT studio (and was FAR more awesome).
I'm kinda pumped for this. And that's an understatement. Fate/Zero was amazing, and anyone who hasn't watched it should give it a go. And it was FAR superior to Fate/Stay-Night, and I can't wait for the same studio to do the remake.

Yeah, the ending to FMA wasn't good. But now you know what I mean about the backstory. Now go and watch FMA:B. They will be VERY similar for awhile, but then the storylines change (for the better). I still recommend it.

Episode 13 of Railgun had one of the best references ever.
They are on a photo shoot, and the advanced scene emulator technology goes haywire.

Okay, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni may be sick and disturbing, but it legitimately has one of the coolest ways of telling a story. I'm far enough in to kinda understand how it works. This is SPOILER FREE by the way.
So, the entire series centers around an event. The "Cotton Drifting Festival". However, things go wacky and the first arc ends. However, the next arc restarts the event from around the same time, and you see how events play out from a slightly different perspective. It reveals certain facts that were left out in the previous arc, and leaves you with new questions. It also ENDS DIFFERENTLY.
Not sure how the event keeps changing and resetting, but I'm sure I'll find out in time. It's a giant mystery anime, and it's really good. Albeit VERY DARK.

I might skip over HIgurashi, as I downloaded the VN, and I've heard that the VN is better anyways. Attack on Titan is epic, but predictable (in a sense, I immediately knew what caused that "Thing" with Eren. Just good foreshadowing in that show).

It's good. I am now up to date, and I have to wait a whole dang week for the next episode.
It's more realistic (in a sense), and I love the fact that the MC isn't OP as hell.
In fact, he is the opposite. He chose a terrible class and subclass FOR COMBAT. However, it acts as an amazing force multiplier in a battle, and really drives home the fact that he is a strategist at heart. You won't see him on the front lines. He is always at the back, commanding the team and giving support when necessary. He is also kinda heartless when it comes to strategy, which I like (especially since he isn't aware of the fact that he is literally a "Devil with glasses".)

Watching Bakemonogatari now.
Also, Log Horizon. Still AMAZING. However, you must realize it is not like SAO at all. The main focus of Log Horizon is POLITICS. It's all about outmaneuvering your foes without fighting them, and trying to create a form of government in a world lacking order. In short, they are trapped in a world, and since they can't get out, they try to make the world worth living in. Fantastic.

But since the show has no focus on mortality - it put A LOT OF FOCUS ON PLOT. But it has the same failings of SAO - just not as noticeable. The early plot is fluff and introductions, in an attempt to create the sense of 'evil genius with good intentions' on the main guys part. SAO does this as well - but the time-line jumps are just waaaay too noticeable. When matched up - SAO wins. Simply because character progression is more to behold in SAO then Log Horizon - where there's almost none. Log Horizons story may be better - but enjoying the story and being engulfed by the characters in it are two different things - and characters are what make a story for me. You can have the worst plot in history - awesome characters make up for it. Example: FLCL But seriously - go watch Log Horizon. It's last few episodes were damn. :3
Yeah, the show has really taken off in the last few episodes. Plot is great in my opinion, and the characters DO have something to fear in this world (It was revealed in episode 14 I think), in which game death has a unique consequence. Not a huge one at first, but one that has consequences over time. You don't want to just die willy nilly.
I'll hold off on saying which one is better until Season 1 finishes.

Thanks Not sure about "similar to gundam" but Code Geass has pretty awesome mech fights. Though the story and character development is much more pronounced.
Code Geass is amazing. 10/10 I am officially recommending this if you haven't watched it.

Okay, So we all know that UFOTable is doing a remake of F/SN
Just finished the 2nd route on the VN.
They had better do Unlimited Blade Works for the remake.
Heavens feel is too dark (Seeing what they did with F/Z, I wouldn't be able to watch it. Too many feels), and the original route is a great vanilla love story, but thats not what I want out of this remake.
Also, Rin makes for a far better main character than Shriou does.
Anyone else want to throw in their opinion on this?

Soul Eater Not! is coming out soon.
It's a sequel of sorts that focuses on meisters who are not in the advanced class with Maka and the others.
Old characters will make cameos, but it will be an original story and set in the same universe I think.

Soul Eater Not! was actually pretty good. The art style is different, but the popular opinion is because its being seen through the eyes of a different character. Since the MC is a 14 year old girl, Maka seems all nice and cutesy, and Black Star looks really freaking buff.

definitely one of my favourites so far, some pretty common trope's of characters though, annoying but dealable with, chaika's way of speaking, the story, and animation are all things 'm enjoying so far

other favourite along with chaika, i like dark anime's, and this one is currently towing the line between dark and gruesome pretty well, add on that overly dramatic and mysterious villian and i'm set for a long time favourite, hopefully the rest of the series can keep up the suspense and dramatic style of the episodes so far.
No Game No Life
i find the setting of this one intriguing, a real nice change from the usual fantasy fare, some similar tones to mahouka but no where near as bad.
My favorites of this season as well!

I just Finished a certain magical index, debating whether to go watch railgun, as much as i liked that show i ******* hated touma, a really stereotypical character, so much so that i found myself rolling my eyes at parts.
I couldn't stand railgun. I hate Slice of Life. Same reason why I dropped Soul Eater NOT! even though I love the soul eater universe.
As for Tou-Man: Say what you want about his stereotype, but I loved the fact that his standard procedure for ass-kicking involved punching people IN THE FACE.
I want a slide show of every face punch in the series. I think it would be funny to watch.

Definitely the highlight of the season for me. The unconventional art and animation style definitely pulled me in from the outset but the show does a phenomenal job on the character development front as well. It really feels more like a character drama in which Ping Pong acts as the backdrop more than a traditional sports anime. Don't miss out on this one.
No Game No Life -
This one came out of nowhere for me and easily propelled itself as one of the shows I'm most looking forward to each week. The fanservice is going to be divisive for some but the entire concept of the world they inhabit and the games they play as well as the antics of the main characters have kept me thoroughly entertained through each episode. War and conquest through bouts of Tic Tac Toe!
Mushishi Season 2 -
They were able to perfectly capture the tone of the first season while expanding and exploring more about the world and the mysterious Mushi creatures that inhabit it.
Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders -
It's Jojo, obligatory. Though admittedly I have to say that I greatly prefer Joseph as a protagonist than Jotaro.

I keep saying Chaika pop up in a lot of people's recommendation lists for this season, the protagonist's stupid hair style and the girl's talking style turned me off from the first episode though. Looks like I may have to give it a little more love.
Chaika is pretty much DnD the anime. It's really good so far.
NGNL is absolutely fantastic.
I'm trying to finish S1 of Mushishi before going into it.

I'm watching them compulsively. Shirogane no Ishi: Argevollen has some deus ex crap to keep the shinji-guy as the main character. If it wasn't for the shinji it's be a pretty cool show. But nope, have to have the annoying welp in there because, anime.
Aldnoah.Zero on the other hand was a slow start but it got me hooked. MC has a detached attitude and he's got an counter-point that's emotionally drive. i'm getting a earth fed/zeon vibe from those two. probably more like Hiiro/Zekusu thing going on there.

He has been getting screwed over since day 1 2) is unlikely, rewatching the scene we clearly see that its seylum. 1) seems very likely considering the aldnoah drive shut down and i doubt it'd shut down just because she's unconscious, otherwise aldnoah tech would be turning off every time the nobles went to sleep. as for 3) i honestly wouldn't be surprised if something like that happened, this is an anime after all and having the MC in a room with 2 naked girls is pretty normal. and while i feel bad for slaine i can't shake the feeling that he's gonna be an example of "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger", so i'm treating him as a wild card right now.

See I actually think that Fairy Tail's opening arcs are probably its strongest and that sometime after they met the Metal Dragonslayer (in fact immediately after) the quality of the manga went downhill. How many times did they "power of friendship" their way through the battle with the death dragon thing on that random island? How many times were they beaten down senselessly only to get back up with willpower in a single battle? I think at that point I was seriously considering dropping but I was interested to see where the author was going to take the story after the time skip.
And then instead of dealing with the consequences of Fairy Tail being totally outclassed by new guilds they instead throw a DBZ Plot Guru in our way and "unlock the potential" of our heroes and heroines. I noped my way out the door and never looked back. You cannot watch a show like Fairy Tail and not expect 'unlocked' powers. And I can tell it isn't really a problem for you, since you enjoyed the Iron Dragon, pinky gets powered up by red head before he engaged that 'revealed his hidden potential' revealing a fire dragon surrounding him. If the enemies get tougher, the good guys need to get tougher too. And it's the ark right after Iron Dragon I fell for - Leo's short story was very enjoyable, watching him open up and Lucy share the companionship the other instilled in her from the Iron Dragon ark was wonderful. The story itself, if that's your focus, is completely cliche. I have seen these stories before a million times already, even the island village. *Black Star Naru anyone?* But let's be real - anime stories completely rely on characters rather then plot to build interest and move a story along. And Fairy Tails characters all shine. I can't name any that annoy. And I felt true emotion for so many of the characters in the Dragon Iron Ark I was surprised. Everyone from the card girl to the guy with the smokes - all of them opened up and cried there own tears for there own reasons loving those around them in there own way that doesn't feel like it's there to fit a cliche personality. Dont be dissing my girl Cana Alberona or Gildarts will kick your ass. Not to mention she has big boobs and likes to drink.

Last three episodes had me curled in a ball, staring at the screen in utter shock.
"This can't be happening" is the phrase that comes to mind. They do such a good job of getting your hopes up, and then smashing them down, often letting you know that something is about to go terribly wrong right before you see it. Even gives you a good 30 seconds to be screaming "NO NO, YOU CAN'T DO THAT. DON'T YOU FREAKING DO IT YOU SONUVA-".

I completely understand; but, it is because of the first arc that Sword Art scored so highly. If the show had ended after the first arc, it would be at the top of my list, no questions asked. I don't think I have ever enjoyed any anime as much as I enjoyed that first arc, but it has been let down by the its other arcs. Everything on my list is, of course, subject to change, so it may not remain in 6th forever. i can respect that, god i just wish they'd kept the story in SAO for the whole season, they skipped 70 floors and still had another 25 to go, not to mention that there were another 8 unique blade skills that hadn't been seen yet, if they'd done that SAO might be one of my all time favourites. Fate Stay Night - it's story really isn't special, and yet.... it's so damn good, lol.
FSN anime was SH*T.
If you enjoyed it, you will absolutely love this one. The one you watched tried mashing multiple routes together, which resulted in a very confusing storyline compared to the VN.
Oh yeah, you still need to play the VN.
EDIT: Just finished catching up on "I can't understand what my husband is saying".
It's short and sweet. And the episodes are 3 minutes long. They do a great job of getting you to know the characters in the short time you get.

Gorgeous is the first word that comes to mind - fight scenes were absolutely stunning. And it's awesome how brutal this show is compared to it's previous counter-part.
But the story has a few loose ends - like what ever happens to Sakura during the whole story? It looked like FSZ was set up just so they could make this show stand out from it's background more - but all the pain and suffering Sakura goes through in FSZ apparently amounted to a total of 10 minutes of screen time between 2 seasons.
And there explanation of magic was strange - if Rin has magic circuits - why do the majority of her spells require her to use outside sources to empower her spells?
She apparently has enough magic to replicate Archers Marble - so that's confusing.
And Shinji - a character who actually deserves to die, gets treated warmly by the sister he physically abuses, and saved by the girl he attempted to ****.
Thankfully they gave us episode 25 to wrap up things nicely and expand upon this universe that we constantly glimpse into but never really get to know.
And i really disliked how Saber was handled. She was more of a woman then a warrior in the second half, dressed in a wedding dress for no reason given and bounded. Which confused me - was that necessary? One minute she's caressing saber infront of the priest to show off her her puppet - the next she needs her bound?
Still, a good watch, and easy to recommend to anyone not familiar with the series.

I really don't dig the concept of Waifu's, because I'm of the opinion that the perfect woman doesn't exist. There will always be flaws.
Anyways, if I had to pick someone to marry from anime, I already know who it would be.
Ciel from Tsukihime.
Resourceful, headstrong and caring. More than willing to ruin someones day if they p*ss her off. Can be silly and playful while still being able to turn dead serious if the matter requires it. I can live with the negatives. Curry would get old quick, but I actually like Indian cuisine from time to time.
Second place is Hisui, once again from Tsukihime (I actually like Tsukihime's setting and characters far more than Fate).
I'm not a big fan of the maid outfit 24/7, but I'm also not her master so that shouldn't be an issue. Extremely supportive, if a doormat at times. Can't cook for sh*t, but that's cool, I can take care of that. I mainly like the extremely supportive side, its nice to know that someone has your back no matter what you decide. And she's cute :3
Reasons why I didn't choose other people in Tsukihime:
Arcuied is a DITZ. Dear god, shes a blondie who acts like a princess and always has to have her way. God forbid you ever dump her after dating her. She'd probably kill you. Aloof to the extreme and totally not my type.
Akiha can go f*ck herself, I've already got one assertive older sister, I sure as hell don't need two.
Kohaku is off the list for spoiler reasons. Play the VN kiddos.
Tsukihime is fantastic, however the art of DATED AS F*CK. Power through it. The story carries itself after awhile. It also isn't voiced, and Nasu himself has apologized for the nude scenes. They're really bad. Really. Still, the setting and plot are simply amazing, with a much darker storyline compared to fate. The running themes in the novel are MADNESS AND INSANITY.

You'll get that reference once you read the novel. It really is fantastic. 8.5/10 by itself, if the remake updates the art and gets rid of stupid sex scenes, it'll get its much deserved 9.5/10 for me.

This show was a delightful surprise. Yu was a surprisingly likeable MC that starts off as a bit of a pretentious d*ck until he meets (and is one-upped) by Nao. The first five episodes are fairly light-hearted and you get a sense of the show being little more than a high school romance show...but all of that changes with episode six. It's at this point that the show drops the pretense of "normal everyday life with super powers thrown in" and starts to tackle the issue of the consequences for using such abilities, and things can get very dark at times. Through it all, however, Yu is surrounded by a wonderful cast of characters: Nao is a wonderful female lead that is both strong and vulnerable, beautiful but never treated as a sex object, intelligent and witty. She is the heart of the show. Jojiro is the dependable male comic relief, and Yusa is a wonderfully tragic idol. Ayumi makes for a great little sister without all of the brother complex issues that typically pop up in anime.
My only real complaint with the show is the final episode: way too much happens in such a short period of time as to be unbelievable, and serves as too much of a Deus Ex Machina to force an ending to the story. Honestly, the happenings of episode 13 easily could have been used to cover an entire second season of the show.
Animation is solid and Nao makes for a beautiful character. Yu's actually a pretty handsome MC (as the show points out several times.) Music is great and plays a major part in the show. No real ecchi moments in the show aside from one bath tub scene, but even then no nudity is shown.
Verdict: Definitely watch. Yu and Nao have a wonderful chemistry between them that develops steadily over the course of the first half of the show, and the second half is all about trying to figure out what's going on as Yu tries to protect those around him.
We knew this was a Jun Madea show going in.
Almost got the full bingo (Smiley face is Animal as People, which we didn't get).
Honestly, I rate this the same way I would Angel Beats. It should have had two seasons. Two seasons, and this would be easy 9/10.
Show leading up to ending? 8/10.
Show with ending? 7/10.
I'm sorry, but I'm not very forgiving for Deus ex Machina. Which the entire ending was.
I also wanted to see the show focus more on Yuu's spiraling descent into madness (Which is what the second season would have been). That would have been interesting.

The channel gets hit for around 50 - 100 different people a day right now and it's not even a week old. The show teeters around development through It's MC's experience, no one else literally grows as a character, and he barely does. "Growth" for everyone else is accepting there fate and coming to terms with it, even though they're hundreds of years older then the kid telling them what to do. The setting also seems unfleshed, Is he the King of Yokai or not? They keep saying he's the lord of all Yokai, but then they talk about Yokai politics and whose on there side and not - that's not how you 'rule' others. So are they or were they ever unified by the Nura, and if so, why does Nura only concentrate on one area when Japan's actually quite large. There's a lot to notice here, there's also a plot hole concerning the kids and there discovery of Yokai - they learned, at a young age, while on a bus getting attacked by Yokai, of there existence. But seems to of forgotten it..... Basically, I want criticism of the shows setting, plot, and characters.
The show goes back and forth a lot. When they did their flashback to his father/grandfather, I felt really disconnected until I realized what had happened. The characters looked damn near the same, and his entourage didn't help at all.
His grandfather was considered King because he was the Yokai in control of the capital IIRC, more of a title than an actual power position. The show is also adapted from a Manga I believe, and more than a few things got glossed over.

I reached out to 4 different Youtube guys who talk about editing, how to improve, and what you need. Turns out, one was a voice actor working for Funimation! :O If I want to play several clips at once while trimming clips and cutting characters and portions of the clip from each other to create new content, there are no cheap editors. Its one of the few shows I actually prefer to watch in English. VA's did a great job.

If you can stomach the first 10 minutes, you'll be fine.
It's actually a very interesting show to watch. I love the fact that most of the show is spent on you trying to decide who the real monster is. It makes compelling arguments for both sides.

Zero No Tsukiama; Good, but a bit harem-y and Louise had me absolutely hating her and loving her at separate times. If their relationship wasn't so goddamn abusive it would have been GREAT.

Toradora is THE Romantic Comedy show. Equal parts comedy and romance for most of it, then ramps up the romance towards the end. 9/10.
As for me: Currently re-watching Kara no Kyoukai. In chronological order this time, rather than air order. If you're curious, here's how you should watch it.
If you like slowly putting the pieces together and watching the main arc slowly reveal itself, watch air order. Pay attention.
If you just want to enjoy the show without having to actually pay attention to how things fit together, watch chronological.
I highly recommend airing order.

In game Regal is hard to learn but really rewarding for the aerial gameplay. That said I was trying to describe Regal's character to someone.... it basically ended up something like this. It's the way you get her as a character after she appears as a boss 3 times in the game, the third time being literally the worst fight in existence as she appears right after the Iapryx boss in the Balacruf Mausoleum and having a stupid Pyre Seal that can burst damage you down 800 HP. That and the fight against that ninja at the end of the game if you are good enough.
ToS isn't even hard anymore.
Beat the thing on Unknown difficulty multiple times.
You want to have fun in Tales? Try playing with Combo turned on from the Grade shop. It sets EXP earned to 1, and you get more and more EXP the higher your combo's go.
I think my record was in the 150's without exploiting. You can get insane levels out of it.
