1. Panty and stocking with garterbelt! It makes exactly as much sense as it sounds like. 2. the hell is samurai flamenco? I'm imagining very well choreographed fight scenes with lots of dismemberment.
also, in january, Space Dandy! by the guy behind cowboy bebop and samurai champloo.
If you hear the words "WORTH IT!" look about, something hilarious just happened.

Gonna start a streak of dark anime. Someone come up with something kind, nice, feel-goody anime for when I'm done.
Here is the list I'm gonna tear through.
Elfen Lied School days Madoka Magica (would be first, but anime waffles doesn't stream it. They only have the movies :(
I might finish it off with Clannad. Still haven't watched it yet.
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni mirrai nikki/future diary evangelion serial experiments lain
then for your reward... my favorite anime mushishi

Already seen Evangelion, but I'm going to the rest to my list.
Lied is good so far. I love how it switches between her being a psychopathic killer and a harmless girl with amnesia.

I like all the spoilers you guys are giving about Elfen Lied.
Hmmm, dark anime huh? Please avoid posting any that don't appear dark at first so then its a big surprise when it does go dark. (If you've seen it, you know which one I'm talking about)
Lemme think.
- Higurashi
- Elfen Lied
- Future Diary
- School Days (Still haven't gotten around to watching it, but I hear things )
Can't really think of any others that are really dark (and aren't "Surprise! This is a dark show!"), it sorta depends on what you consider dark, I know one person who thinks Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood is sick and twisted (they've never seen it, but they had the premise explained to them) |

The entire series is on Youtube.
And good job posting the surprise dark show I talked about not spoiling in my post, I didn't notice someone had posted it, but I'd hoped no one did. It's a stealth dark show! People are supposed to go in thinking it'll be all sparkles and happy fun times. |

it's a series of short stories about a mushi master, a sort of traveling doctor/biologist who studies mushi a basic life form invisible to most people. these mushi do different things and can cause harm to humans in unlikely cases. each story is beautifully told and unique. the stories are told like fables or creation myths each explaining a phenomena of the world or giving a moral lesson. it is a fantasy and and some what bizarre. it is some what dark but never depressing.
I'm at a loss for words... it's different...
trust me that "the best anime I've ever seen" isn't a title I give lightly.
plus I mean, it looks like this.

Yup. On my list now.
Also, keep coming up with feel good anime. Elfen lied is dark as ****, and I'm going to need something light to watch after it.

Watch Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai!
It's a nice slice of life. At least I think it is till the end and then it gets a bit touchy.

That anime will bring a smile to your face and even in the end you will still smile among all those majestic feels, if you need more light then try watching Nagi no Asukara which is part of the current anime season, both series are great and it's already comfirmed that Chuunibyou will have a second season.

Finished Elfen Lied.
It was VERY GOOD. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Also, there was a nice reference to the opening credits at the end. Go watch the opening and then watch the end of the series. I love it when shows do stuff like that (reminds me of Angel Beats! even though what that show did made me fall down and cry)
Starting Higurashi no Naku Koro ni now. Read the review on MAL, and I think it seems interesting. I am a scientist after all....

Really freaking crazy. 3 episodes in and it's a literally a psychological thriller.
Who's gonna be the first to snap? HOW THE HELL DOES SHE KNOW ALL OF THIS?
WHY IS SHE CARRYING A HATCHET?
It's great so far. Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna finish this last episode, and then fall asleep with a bat next to my bed.

Okay, Higurashi no Naku Koro ni may be sick and disturbing, but it legitimately has one of the coolest ways of telling a story. I'm far enough in to kinda understand how it works. This is SPOILER FREE by the way.
So, the entire series centers around an event. The "Cotton Drifting Festival". However, things go wacky and the first arc ends. However, the next arc restarts the event from around the same time, and you see how events play out from a slightly different perspective. It reveals certain facts that were left out in the previous arc, and leaves you with new questions. It also ENDS DIFFERENTLY.
Not sure how the event keeps changing and resetting, but I'm sure I'll find out in time. It's a giant mystery anime, and it's really good. Albeit VERY DARK.

However, the next arc restarts the event from around the same time, and you see how events play out from a slightly different perspective. The MC never really "changes" but it just spends more time on different characters. The first arc is focused on the MC, while arc #2 is focused around the twin sister of a supporting character. It reveals certain facts that were left out in the previous arc, and leaves you with new questions. It also ENDS DIFFERENTLY.

Indeed, and don't forget to also watch Umineko no Naku Koro ni! another classic anime with the same atmosphere as Higurashi and quite good as well (and also it's part of the "When they Cry" universe)
