Fairy Tail just made me cry, again.
The latest episode was just heart-breaking. The choice Lucy had to make and how it was played out - just sad. Fairy Tail really knows how to build up a moment and make it special, it's ridiculous.
I haven't been so hyped for the next episode in a long time.

Clue the board game, but yes, pretty much that.
My statement was a reference to Demo's review of Nourin where he states "looks like farming simulator 2014 got that anime adaptation we were all clammoring about"

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows) Season 2:
8/10
Comedy/Romance/Harem
Keima and Elsie continue their quest to recapture all of the runaway spirits.
I can see...the entertainment! Season 2 kicks off by addressing one of my complaints from season 1--Kasuga is a gorgeous character (and one that I swear I've seen in at least a dozen other shows) and is probably surpassed by Jun towards the end of the season. Keima still refuses to develop as a character, though the show does a good job of hinting that he's actually beginning to develop feelings for the girls of the "real world." This also coincides with the realization that, though the girls he rescued have had their memories of him erased, there are lingering emotions towards Keima that the girls can't explain (similar to Yamada and the Seven Witches.) The introduction of Harqua offers the glimpses of actual romantic feelings towards Keima that aren't a result of his Conquests, and also serves to bring Elsie's feelings toward Keima more into focus; the groundwork has been laid for an actual harem to come into play in the future, should the show go that route. Humor is also much improved over the first season.
Biggest complaint from the first season remains (lack of character development) but season 2 does move things forward.
Animation, as a whole, seems improved from the first season. Music remains absolutely incredible and earned an extra point for the show. Quite possibly the best in-show music I've heard in an anime.
Verdict: Season 2 does enough to push the show into the "watchable" category. Have high hopes for season 3!
For the Record: In a stunning reversal of season one, I found it quite difficult to pick a favorite girl from season 2. If I had to choose, I'd go with Chihiro.

Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai (The World God Only Knows) Season 3
8/10
Romance/Harem/Comedy
Disclaimer: Don't be like me--Make sure to watch the Tenri Arc OVA episodes before watching season 3!!!
Keima must now set his sights on awakening the six Goddesses that had previously sealed away the demons of Old Hell before the forces of Vintage can bring Old Hell to Earth.
I can see...harem trouble! Season three follows up a strong season two and, for the most part, lives up to the lofty standards of the preceding season. Comedy takes a back seat to actual romance as Keima finds himself having to further woo many of his prior conquests; a wrench is thrown into his plans as he must now juggle the fact that his harem candidates have become aware of each other...and the unexpected realization that he can't keep his feelings out of his conquests forever. We finally get to see some actual development in Keima's character as he stops whining about his lack of game time and instead desperately pushes forward towards his "ideal ending," though he (painfully) realizes that ideal endings aren't possible in real life and that people are going to be hurt as a result of his actions.
Surprising to see Elsie be pushed to the side in this season in favor of Haqua, but it's the right choice, in my opinion. Haqua is a much deeper character than Elsie and provides a good source of romantic tension with Keima, which Elsie lacked. Was bummed to see that two of my three favorite candidates didn't feature in this season...made worse by the fact that, having missed the OVAs, I had no idea who some of these new candidates were.
Have mixed feelings on the ending. Something just seemed...lacking. I suppose we could be satisfied with Keima's realization that he can't keep his emotions out of the real world forever, but I want to know what happens going forward. Are the memories permanent now? Is he still obligated to hunt down runaway souls?
Animation continues to be solid following season two. The "new" candidates introduced for season three are less attractive than previous ones, though characters such as Ayumi and Chihiro are given a better chance to shine. Music remains strong. A few moments of ecchi with no nudity.
Verdict: Almost as good as season two. Worth a watch.
For the Record: Team Chihiro.
Series score: 7/10 Season one-5 Season two-8 Season three-8

But a good show with plenty of yuri action would have to be Cross Ange
It's a mecha anime, but don't let that turn you off because I don't like mecha and I quite enjoyed it.
...and no, not just for the boobs :P
Basically it's about a princess who is taken away to a girls only military camp to fight off dragons...and how she changes as a person after finding out what's really going on outside the city walls.
At one point in the show the MC questions why they have to wear such skimpy outfits and she is met with a pretty convincing argument. Heck, every scene with some form of nudity or sexual content has a reason to be there.

2 reviews, first, a super super quick one:
Idol Masters: 8.5/10
I just... like the cast. They're enjoyable to watch, and a few of them are even more so. Good drama, nice build ups, interesting progression, there's nothing to really dislike here. Animation is super cute and fluid at times, and the show just sprinkles moe into everything without overwhelming or beating you on the head with it.
Noragami *Sub/Dub*:
8.8/10
I always had a hard time finishing the sub to this show - as interesting as it seemed to watch a loser god rise the ranks, the way he was a loser and how he kept proving everyone right while the show maintained the mystery that maybe he's a bad ass irked me.
And for a being whose supposedly lived hundreds of years he has little to no real understanding of others, only select tidbits of what it means to be a god, and even a lot of that he doesn't know.
So he's left with just being funny - and he's funnier in the dub. The show was actually quite charming in the Dub vs the Sub, but the sub's VA's obviously brought a lot more life to the characters, but the Dub didn't get lazy.
Overly the show itself progression is awkward, desperately needing a season 2 to tie up the many loose ends the show talks about.
And with the interesting cast I hope the season 2 supposedly coming up ends up being 24 episodes, there's a lot of fleshing out needed here. But the cast is admittedly small, half of them belong as servants to two gods.
Animation for the most part is beautiful - character designs were hit and miss, and character interactions themselves were fun and fluent to watch.
My biggest complaint would probably be Yamato inconsistency as a character. He's either stupid or incredibly stupid with how he handled Yuki and pretty much every decision he's ever made. |

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san (Nyaruko: Crawling With Love) Season 1
7/10
Comedy/Parody/Sci-fi/Romance/Harem/Ecchi
Poor Mahiro--an average high school boy living a quiet life in an average town--suddenly finds himself being hunted down by a terrifying creature. His call for help is answered as a young girl with silver hair dispatches the creature with ease. Her name is Nyarlathotep...and she's an alien straight out of the Cthulhu mythos!!! Identifying herself as Mahiro's protector (as part of a galactic police agency) she enrolls as a student in Mahiro's school under the name of Nyaruko and poses as a relative of Mahiro. Unfortunately for Mahiro, Nyaruko is head-over-heels in love with him and isn't shy about coming onto him. Things only get more complicated as more aliens show up and start declaring love for others, regardless of gender. Will Mahiro ever find peace in the presence of such insanity?
I enjoyed this show much more than I was expecting; the humor is ridiculously absurd and the lampooning of other shows/movies is never-ending. When the characters find themselves trapped in a dating sim, the only logical outcome is how they can all "see the ending, (The World God Only Knows)." A DeLorean makes an appearance, as does a brief tribute to Fist of the North Star. The whole key to the show is that nothing should be taken seriously, so don't expect a deep show full of character development. Nyaruko, for example, has a suffocating personality that can grow tiresome as she relentlessly pursues Mahiro. However, by the end of the season she begins to soften up (after numerous rejections) and states for a fact that she does truly love Mahiro. Mahiro follows a similar path of wanting nothing more than to be rid of the aliens and return to a quiet life...only to come face-to-face with the consequences of what such a wish would mean to him.
It's hard to really pick out a negative for the show; basically, your enjoyment depends entirely upon how the humor works for you. If you find yourself laughing at the jokes you'll likely blow through the show in a flash. If, however, the jokes don't work for you, you will likely have little reason to continue watching.
Artwork is good. Characters can be best described as cute but not really attractive. Music is forgettable. Some comedic moments of ecchi with no actual nudity. However, much of the humor is rather crude and ecchi-focused.
Verdict: Give it a shot and see how many shows you can spot being parodied.
For the Record: Team Kuuko, for obvious reasons.
