Mine has to be Hanayamata, cause cute girls dancing is even better x3
Kinmoza is a close second. Can't get enough of the desudesudesu
And this season I'm watching Wakaba Girl. Not sure if It'll hold my attention, but I'm liking this one a bit better than others I have seen recently. Does Kancolle count? |

Just finished punchline the other day, not going to get into specifics and do a review but I'll give it scores
Story - 8/10 What can I say, its pretty good? Story is unique and lots of plot twists that will make you dizzy confused. Lots of similarities to Kill la kill - you think you know whats happening then a plot twist happens and mind = blown.
Characters - 7.5/10 Character development is there but its still lacking (i.e who the cat is)
Music - 7.5/10 I didn't even remember most of the ost that played during the show though the op and ed were quite good. *edit* I just did a quick look over the ost an it isnt bad, if anything it is actually good if not amazing. If these songs had more bgm time it would not have been a 7.5
Enjoyment - 8/10 There was 2 scenes of nekos mating.
Overall - 8/10 Aside from the panty shots being aweso... oh who am I kidding the amount of panties shown is TOO DAMN HIGH (it went from weird -> funny -> face palm worthy). If you can handle the ecchi, then I recommend the show for you especially if you have watched and highly rate kill la kill.
I said I wouldn't do a review but I ended up doing one anyway... sigh Also my first anime review though it was on accident.

I went into this with absolutely nothing in the way of expectations and came away with the show shooting itself to the top of my list of currently airing shows. I absolutely love the ridiculousness of the setting presented. The visual gags with the 'teleporter' guy tackling the protagonist at ridiculous speeds, the fact that the powers presented are all hilarious incomplete in one way or another, or the whole thing of building up an overly dramatic main character only to systematically break him down at every step. A surprisingly charming and genuinely funny show! It takes a decidedly "X-men" style setup in which you have teenaged protagonists discovering that they have powers, exploiting this fact in really interesting and decidedly juvenile ways, while eventually dealing with the realization that they're not the only ones in the world who have abilities in the sense that they do. Don't miss out on this.
Join me on my journey of highs and lows with the first two episodes of Classroom Crisis! Classroom Crisis - 01
This is fun. The synopsis of this one definitely had me a bit worried, I was concerned that the SciFi space background that the story was set in would ultimately take a backseat to whatever highschool drama they wanted to insert to appeal to whatever demographic they were aiming for. I came away instead with a surprisingly optimistic view of the way it handled that part of the show. Our protagonist, for once, is actually the teacher of the class and I didn't realize how something as subtle as taking the main point of view away from some generic self insert student to a generic self insert authority figure leading the class could feel so refreshing. I can almost forgive the show for the hamfisted style of character development near the beginning where they clearly layed out the protag's hopes, dreams, and overarching goals in a single sequence. Fortunately that was probably the only clear low point in the episode and the second half delivers on what I had picked up the show to begin with for. The ******* space part. The second half has the series delving into the main conflict of the episode as first introduced in the show's opening moments. A mission that has our characters making use of their prototype ship in order to stage a rescue mission. While certainly the show isn't what I'd call a "looker", with a lot of the background art being serviceable at best, I found the moments where you're switching between ground control and the view of the cockpit to actually be quite exciting. While I could certainly criticize the "SciFi" aspect of the execution of the mission (an asteroid belt with that much debris would most certainly land you in a situation where any number of small objects would kill you in moments which directly conflicts with a protag who values "Safety First") I found myself ignoring all that because this show is in space. And space is ******* cool. What it solidifies in this moment is something that I really value in shows like this though, that this isn't a one man show. That our protag is going to ultimately be leaning on the strength of others in order to achieve his goals. Also the transfer student is great. Don't go in expecting something on the level of Planetes in terms of attention to detail or competency in its execution though, cus this **** aint that. Classroom Crisis - 02
A couple of highschool kids got together one day 70 years ago and decided to revolutionize human space travel. Sure, why not? The small amount of time the show spent this episode exploring the fun dynamic of having a transfer student thats simultaneously your boss and the little dash of internal company politics were about the only positive things this thing had going for it. What we're greeted with for the other 90% of the episode is some of the most hamfisted character development I've ever seen. It's 2 parts exposition dump and what feels like someone reading every defining character trait off of a fact sheet for every significant character existing in the show. "Lazy" doesn't quite capture the magic that comes with being bombarded with every detail about the world, its technology, and the internal motivations of all of its players in a single 15-20 minute sequence in what is literally presented as a documentary that other, even less important characters are watching while absolutely nothing goes on anywhere. So yeah, that sucked. SUBspace overvraper wrote:Also my first anime review though it was on accident. I wasn't a fan of Punchline myself but thanks for the review. Personally I found the show to drag for far too long with the whole random ghost thing for me to really stay invested for very long. It was always flirting with the point of not being actively bad enough for me to drop while doing nothing exceptional to actually get me 'excited' to see each episode. Dropped it the moment the dude gets back into his real body and discovers his mission. Yeah with punchline either you love it or you hate it, similar to kill la kill in this aspect too.

Everything Dies wrote:Hagure Yuusha no Estetica (Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero)

Awesome show. A power fantasy harem anime that skips past all of the "hero grows into his power" by starting with the hero as, essentially, a bad-ass right from the start. So instead of wasting time watching as the hero wrestles with his power, the viewer is treated to a protagonist that is more than happy being a playful jerk while keeping his noble core intact; Akatsuki is the guy we all wish we could be--brave, strong, charming and willing to take on whatever challenges come his way, and doing so with a seemingly care-free approach to it all that hides his commitment to those he cares about.
I use the term "harem" as a generalization for the fact that the hero quickly finds himself surrounded by women; however, in terms of potential love interests the show focuses on Miu (the one Akatsuki has sworn to protect and the only one that he actually displays any real romantic interest in) while also Haruka takes on the role of the tsundere character, who develops feelings for Akatsuki despite her initial animosity towards him. Listy may as well be a romantic interest for Akatsuki, though their past isn't really touched upon in the show (but is strongly hinted at.)
That actually ties into my one major complaint about the show: it isn't finished. Though the initial storyline is completed over the course of 12 episodes, it's quite obvious that it is only a part of a much larger story being told and there's no satisfactory conclusion to be drawn from this one season. Seeing as to how this was made in 2012, I don't have high hopes for more seasons. Bummer.
A minor quibble of mine has to deal with the visuals--something just seems "off" about the female characters. Their bodies are obviously quite well animated (and believe me, you'll see A LOT of their bodies) but the actual faces...ugh. I'm not sure what it is, exactly, but the female character's faces look slightly off, as though they're too round or something. That aside, the rest of the visuals are top-notch, including the battle scenes. How fast do you watch animes? Back in my prime I managed to watch and finish 3-4 12 episode animes a week and i even finished hidan no aria over night (started in the evening, finished it in the morning and yes I did sleep). Nowadays I finish 1 12 episode every week and my current watched anime list is exceeding 100. My to watch anime list is several times larger than my have watched list and because of it I have a hard time starting new animes because there are always too many choices but you seem like an adept anime watcher yourself and you put down weekly anime reviews so thank you for that.
I just wanted to know some stuff about your anime status and speed but it turned into a paragraph... lol I have a bad habit of going on and on don't I

Can't remember what happens exactly after episode 17, but I do know that you are about to tread into a mindfield (that pun) filled of bombs.
Watched the second episode of overlord, still fantastic as ever. They did a great job setting the background for the game and chars in the last episode. Now I'm hoping for more char development and the "Yggdrasil" world development. Only if they could make it as good/better than log horizon first season (second season really was a downfall compared to the first).
Just finished third charlotte episode, I was expecting great things with this show and I guess they kinda or havent reached that great development just yet with this new episode. I really liked the MC on the first episode, reminded me of kanye (from amagi) and lelouch but now I feel like he's a side character most of the time. They striped him off his "superior", narcissistic personality and he is becoming a boring MC. The main female char on the other hand is so much more interesting than the MC. She can go from super cute and uh...
-Update: i was writing the charlotte review then i found some stuff and that lead to more stuff and somehow i managed to get a (possibly) charlotte spoiler and I'm tearing up atm... so yeah I'm not emotionally ready yet.

Oh, and it has a great OP. People probably enjoy it because it's like Highschool DxD, just minus the plot, and with a whole bunch of extra plot(I don't think the show is that amazing, but it's entertaining to watch and that's all that matters sometimes) 3 minutes in the first episode and I was right, I cannot handle hent.. whoops i mean heavy harem/ecchi shows. I say I can't handle it but my body says otherwise. From the begining to the end of the episode there was a huge grin on my face. I want to drop it so bad but I made a rule not to drop any anime. Episode 9 of Terra Formars Adolf is a badass, reciting the bible while using his lightning powers to kill the cockroaches. He pulled out a middle finger and called down a lightning strike on the "leader". (couldnt get the picture but I got a video). The character development was great for adolf, but it was a waste... The ironic thing is the cockroaches speak in a language that sounds like "jeow" and Adolf killing "jeow"s .

Kanamemo: A hidden gem, and insane in the best way possible. Tags: Yuri, Comedy, Slice of life.
Girls Und Panzer: Title says it all. Tags: Tanks!!!! (Comedy)
A Certain Magical Index: A great anime with a spinoff. My suggestion would actually be to watch this one up to the Sisters arc, then go back and watch both seasons of A Certain Scientific Railgun, and skip Index's Sisters arc. I actually prefer Railgun, but Index takes the story further. Personally I believe this show has the best world of any anime I've ever seen. Tags: Action, Comedy.
Some stuff I want to clarify first: I only watch stuff on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and Netflix. I don't watch Hentai. I don't really like harem stuff. I really like slice of life. Generally it's classified as seinen.
Which segues nicely into my next question. What sites do you use to watch anime? I might want to expand to more, but want to make sure the stuff is safe. Kanamemo eh? I might give it shot, the only show you I haven't seen, besides Chuunibyo s2. and I watched Index exactly as you did and agree - Rails a more interesting character. Do as this man suggest, the series is better for it. shows i suggest (all from console streamers) - Kaichou Wa Maid Sama - An all males school turns co-ed, inspiring a hard working girl who wants to make improvement to help the girls adapt to the once all boys school run for president. She wins, but life at home is rough, so she has to work a part time as a waitress in a shop in the next town. It's the time of Warring States era Japan, and Nobunaga Oda, is actually the beautiful and charming Nobuna Oda, daughter of the Oda clan. The man takes the role of Monkey, one of Oda's most famous advisors, and the man who goes on to unite japan. Visual are gorgeous. Tags: Action, Romance, Comedy, Moe, Altered History, Drama. Dog Days - A dog with a knife suddenly opens a portal infront of our MC, a young athlete to the physical sports competitions. He's thrust into a world of animal-people, who are currently at war. He's come to rescue the dog kingdom from the cat kingdom that had abandoned there treaties and have taken there termites. Down to the last, they desperate seek the aid of a strong hero! Tags: Moe, Romance, Slice of Life, Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama Gugure kokkuri-san - A girl summons the fox spirit, Gugure, using an old urban legend. He appears, and asks what it is she wants to know. The girl throws salt and wards the evil spirit away, angerying the fox spirit, threatening to haunt her for her trickery. Unstunned, she continues. As he gets to know her, he feels pity for her, and moves in. Starting a pretty hilarious anime version of 2 and a half men. Tags: Comedy, Slice of Life, Yokai EDIT: I should note I'm going to finish Fate Stay Ildya first, half way in s1, it's a lot better then you'd suspect, has the madoka charm, almost. Kara no Kyoukai 1st movie A movie series adapted by ufotable, original writer is Nasu Kinoko. Its a great series... There are a total of 8 movies.Tags Action, Fantasy, Movie, Mystery, Seinen, Super Power, Thriller.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 My most favorite gundam series and one of the best gundam shows out there. The show deals with the ideals on peace, conflict and all that stuff. I would say that the most interesting thing about this series is its MCs. The MCs are very unique I guess? Maybe different is the right word and the storyline/plot is overall great. Tags Action, Drama, Mecha, Military, Sci-Fi
Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru Long titles for the win! Ah... The show brings back memories (good ones). I borrowed a comment "Hikigaya (the MC) has some great theories about being alone! I think this anime appeals best to loners, such as myself. I understand the things Hikigaya says, and even learned more about society. " I feel like this is enough description. The second season just aired and finished last season. The second season was a bomb shell of drama and feels. It is much more serious than its first season and because of it, it is much more realistic. I didnt put the genres here because the genres don't correctly portray the show at all.

Haunted by his past, Sasha seeks vengeance on those that destroyed his life and marked him as the Martyr. Can he control his rage long enough to protect those around him, or will his desire for vengeance consume him? As various sides draw together in search of a holy icon, who can be trusted? Let's get this out of the way at the start: this is basically hentai minus any depictions of genitalia. Qwasers happen to draw their strength from the soma of women...in this case, soma just so happens to (basically) be breast milk. So, yeah...expect A LOT of close-ups of breasts/nipples/feeding...and we're not strictly talking male to female, either. Furthermore, breast size = soma quality, so I'm pretty sure you can figure out where much of the focus of this show lies. Now, as to the story: I gave this season a slightly above-average score due to the fact that, fan service aside (you'll be pretty numb to it after the first couple of episodes, barring the *ahem* fountain scene towards the end of the season) there's an interesting story taking place that doesn't really come into play until the latter half of the 24 episodes. Characters are pretty generic outside of the loli/lesbian/sadist character, but the show does enough to keep things interesting by steadily building the looming threat posed to the main cast as the season builds to climactic finale. Animation is rather plain and subdued--definitely not as vivid and colorful as more recent shows, but not bad. Quite a bit of bloodshed is spilled throughout the show. And boobs...lots and lots of boobs, of every shape and size (non-existent to grossly large) with the knock-on that many female characters aren't very cute to look at, which dampens things. Seeing as to how I'm getting ready to start the second season, I have to admit that I'm actually really pleased with how the first season ended. I'm only hoping that the second season doesn't spoil the emotional high point of the season 1 finale, as the show would have had a great ending if a second season never took place. So...an episode or two of season two and then it's off to dreamland... I heard big (its not intended i swear ) things about this and I also expected it would a big breast feast... Havent had a chance to watch it yet because of my never ending to watch anime list. "And boobs...lots and lots of boobs, of every shape and size (non-existent to grossly large)" Sounds like jiggly jiggly heaven to me. Currently watching shirobako and so far it has been solid. No plot holes(heh heh) that I can see and it has been slowly going up in terms of enjoyment. The character designs are actually quite nice and each character is semi decently realistic. It would be a CGDCT if it had more slice of life (KanCo + GuP for the win!!)

sorry but I dropped this for a bit - the animation is exclusively comedy, so i'm going to wait till i'm in a better mood for a comedy like this, especially with this kind of moe. Really liked some of the characters in the first few episodes, though. Will probably be above my expectations. So i switched over to something darker - Fate Stay Night - Unlimited Blade Works. I am surprised that you havent watched it yet... Damn you're lucky though, I had to wait for the second cour and it was 5 months of painful suffering. Down in Academy City, Touma is battling to save the world of science, and over in the spirit world Ichigo is fighting against the Espadas. That would be epic. But then, everything changed when the fire nation attacked. Only Kirito, the master of overpoweredness (calling him overpowered would be an understatement). I'm not going to give a full review on it, who do you think I am? A madman who has a kidney problem and still watches animes like a boss? (Everything Dies for you)
Shirobako (Whitebox apparently)
9/10
- Setting 5 girls who made an anime together during highschool wants to join the anime industry and make an actual anime together.
- Plot The story follows Aoi (the MC) having graduated collage 2 years ago into her new job as a assistant producer in a big studio. Mostly about the adult life and the realistic problem humans have in adulthood.
- Story lol aint nobody got time to write this.
- Characters The strong point of the series. P.A works managed to make characters that were very realistic and lovable. Each one had their troubles and doubts but they also had stuff that was going for them. They managed to turn an jerk to a sympathetic character.
-Enjoyment If you think I have the ability and the effort to write an actual review, you are wrong. Don't let any of this hurt or bias your opinion of the show. Watch it yourself to understand as I cannot truly review a masterpiece I personally loved it because it had awesome moments(awesome music and tokyo drift are somethings to expect) and it has something that most animes out there dont have - it has a balance between comedy, reality, drama, slice of life.

The show seemed to be covering too much ground too quickly to establish a meaningful plot and the way they cut away during battles to use CGI to explain the movements of the armies was just weird.
But don't lose heart! For I am now on the 12th episode of Nisekoi! Surprised that I've stuck with it, to be honest, as its getting painful with how they keep drawing things out...but there's enough humor to keep things moving. Seriously, though...all of these people had such deep, meaningful relationships when they were 5-6 years old? Really?! Rip dude, madan no ou to vanadis and nisekoi are at most decent shows. Unless you really get into madan you won't enjoy it at all, the anime is indeed too rushed as there are as many plot holes here as there are in SAO. Nisekoi isn't that bad... trust me after you try the second season of nisekoi you will want your time back. That means do [b]not [/b watch the second season if you have any faith in the show. ]The best way to enjoy romance is to turn off your brain.

Yakuza. Gangsters. Police. Shakespeare. All of these come together as a boy suddenly finds himself thrust into the role of having to act as a boyfriend to a girl he's only just met. Can their fake relationship avert the hostilities of two warring families? Or will this fake relationship become the real thing? And what about the other girls that share a mysterious past together with him?
If you saw my previous post, I had just finished the first 11 episodes of the 20-episode first season and I was anything but impressed. The plot was teetering dangerously at testing my patience for the stereotypical tsundere drama...but episode 12 marks a distinct turning point in the show. And the last three episodes? Excellent, with the Shakespeare-inspired finale topping off a wonderful climax. It's a tough slog but it pays off in the end.
Aside from having 6-8 unnecessary episodes that draw the season out, my biggest complaint would be the manner in which the harem aspect of the show is forced onto the viewer. I admit that I originally liked the third harem member upon her introduction, but her storyline ultimately goes nowhere...which still places her above the fourth (and last) member of the harem to join. Yet another mysterious link to the past? Give me a break! A completely unnecessary character that could have been left out entirely without impacting the story in any meaningful way.
Going by other's comments, I don't have high hopes for the second season. Will this be another show that didn't know how to go out on top? Its a trap dude, you cannot unsee what you have already seen. I also started nisekoi because of the second season and I want my time back. "Every cloud has its silver lining" not nisekoi second season though. It will be a cluster**** of **** that will have many undeveloped chars and the plot is nonexistent.

I spot another type-moon fan! I agree with everything kaiser says. Fate Unlimited Budget Works is rin's storyline (and archer's) so rin is the main heroine and thank you based Ufotable for bringing a faithful adaption of the VN, unlike the last studio.. Waifu poll
Right then, down to business. Since "waifu" is too big of an option, we will have to narrow down the waifu aspects but I don't want to narrow down to a specific anime with the best waifu to choose from (too limited) so I thought we could do age restrictions, eg under 18 and over 18 (it sounds ridiculous yes but most female protagonist are under 18 - high school settings are the most popular anime setting after all) loli and no loli (yes i know what you're thinking, lolicons do exist). I think those two limits will be enough for now. Thats the waifu aspect done. Now the poll. I think the poll that anime trending uses to get votes will be enough for the poll. I guess there will be a box that you can suggest waifus and I'll (or whoever is in charge of the poll) will add it up. I also think there should be more than 1 vote (1 waifu never is enough ( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) ). Maybe we could separate them between each year and we could have 1(+) vote for each year. Should i put the poll here One last thing before I open this up for suggestions, is this a poll to see dust (player's) favorite waifu? I got a lot of other stuff I want to discuss but can't remember it all.

I will start a poll later and upload the link so that the regulars and anyone who manages to find it within time can vote. Business can afford Maids and Cooks. lets be honest here, who wouldn't want to see an OVA of holo trying to do those things? it would be absolutely hilarious, i can just imagine Laurence seeing the impending meltdown coming and desperately try to escape before it happens. Anyways, if I had to pick someone to marry from anime, I already know who it would be.
Ciel from Tsukihime.
Resourceful, headstrong and caring. More than willing to ruin someones day if they p*ss her off. Can be silly and playful while still being able to turn dead serious if the matter requires it. I can live with the negatives. Curry would get old quick, but I actually like Indian cuisine from time to time.
Second place is Hisui, once again from Tsukihime (I actually like Tsukihime's setting and characters far more than Fate).
I'm not a big fan of the maid outfit 24/7, but I'm also not her master so that shouldn't be an issue. Extremely supportive, if a doormat at times. Can't cook for sh*t, but that's cool, I can take care of that. I mainly like the extremely supportive side, its nice to know that someone has your back no matter what you decide. And she's cute :3
Reasons why I didn't choose other people in Tsukihime:
Arcuied is a DITZ. Dear god, shes a blondie who acts like a princess and always has to have her way. God forbid you ever dump her after dating her. She'd probably kill you. Aloof to the extreme and totally not my type.
Akiha can go f*ck herself, I've already got one assertive older sister, I sure as hell don't need two.
Kohaku is off the list for spoiler reasons. Play the VN kiddos.
Tsukihime is fantastic, however the art of DATED AS F*CK. Power through it. The story carries itself after awhile. It also isn't voiced, and Nasu himself has apologized for the nude scenes. They're really bad. Really. Still, the setting and plot are simply amazing, with a much darker storyline compared to fate. The running themes in the novel are MADNESS AND INSANITY.

You'll get that reference once you read the novel. It really is fantastic. 8.5/10 by itself, if the remake updates the art and gets rid of stupid sex scenes, it'll get its much deserved 9.5/10 for me.

I don't think there is a perfect woman... You could describe a woman but that woman would only be an ideal woman, not a perfect one. Ie super beautiful, kind, all that spice and everything nice stuff... But ideals are ideals, ideals aren't reality. In reality, nothing perfect exists... If I asked you what a "perfect" thing is, could you come up with an answer(everything has flaws)? Thats why I say nothing perfect can exist if you there is no perfect thing in the first place. I've never seen something perfect before so I don't know/can't think of anything that is perfect. I don't believe that even fiction can create something "perfect". Wait a sec... I think i forgot the purpose of this quote and when on and on about BS. Well anyway waifus don't have to be perfect because something perfect doesn't exist and not even fiction can do anything about it. It's like, you never hear of people that are die hard fans of Nepalese cartoons, or Aussie cartoons. So why anime? What is it about anime that let it spread so thoroughly? Waifu

Everything Dies wrote:Another series down!
Strike the Blood
7/10
In a world where demons/vampires/werewolves/etc. exist alongside humans, an island city is built off the coast of Japan to house the various races and try to promote coexistence among them. There is a delicate balance among the Three Progenitors--all-powerful vampires--that preserves the peace throughout the world and the races inhabiting it. However, a fabled "Fourth Progenitor" appeared on the island city of Itogami and passed her powers onto the human, Kojou Akatsuki, who now finds himself embroiled in twisted schemes of those seeking to destroy the peaceful balance that hangs by a thread...
Yet another power fantasy/ecchi/harem comedy mash-up that I found to be more enjoying than not. The MC is fairly generic (i.e. finds himself surrounded by beautiful women but is completely oblivious to their feelings) and his voice sounds...odd. As though a 40 year-old smoker is trying to sound like a teenager. Anyway, the MC is, in many ways, a secondary character to Himeragi, the main harem candidate; much of the story centers on her finding ways to spur the reluctant hero into action (he makes no secret of the fact that he doesn't want to be the Fourth Progenitor and only wants a normal life) while trying to fulfill her role as an "observer" of Kojou--a role that may require her to kill Kojou should he fail to control his powers. Other harem characters quickly make their appearance--the childhood friend, the head-over-heels-in-love friend, the tsundere, loli, etc. but these mainly come off as attempts at humor instead of character-developing relationships; characters show up, MC declares that he will do anything to protect them, rescues the damsel in distress, character fades away into the background, rinse and repeat.
What saves the show is the constant threat posed to the MC and the world around him. We (oddly) never even see or hear from the other 3 Progenitors that are supposedly all-powerful; all of the challenges that arise are centered mainly on Itogami City with the MC just happening to get caught up in the action. Though this hurts the overall storyline, it does keep things constantly fresh. Unfortunately, much of the underlying mystery surrounding the show (Why was Kujou given these powers?) are never answered while the ending only weakly hints at a continuing story.
Animation is sharp, characters are typically attractive--Himeragi really grows on you over the course of the show--and the music is solid. Plenty of ecchi to go around (Japanese girls are all very concerned about breast size, apparently) though, oddly, actual nudity is limited to two quick scenes if I recall correctly. Weird that the show would go out of its way so often to strategically conceal areola/nipples at every opportunity only to reveal them in these scenes which, to be honest, really serve no purpose. A bit of a head-scratcher, really. No senpai this is our fight! Seriously the amount of times I have heard this while looking at comments is amazing and I haven't even watched the anime it self yet. I'm going to drink every time I hear one (if I get to watch it)

Episode 1>Okay this show is creepy, but I dont get what people find so great about it Episode 3>Well that was unexpected, but at the same time I did expect it because the show started out so damn creepy already. Episode 6>These girls are making their situation a much bigger deal than it really is Episode 7>Over halfway through, main girl still isn't a magical girl, and side chick is now crazy.
Gonna finish it tonight, keeping my expectations high despite my instincts telling me that I'm only going to be disappointed.
I feel like it would be a much better show if the first couple episodes were super happy fun time, instead of trippy worlds and creepy characters that never smile.
Akame ga Kill and School Live did a really good job of this, but Madoka didn't Beware of the trippy a$$ cat

we never spoke again, lol. EoN? EoN is old. How old? It was gone before I even started playing. When I started Sver True Blood still had the most kills, Nyain San was an unstoppable juggernaut, and the rail/combat rifles didn't even exist yet. Oh, and I was bad. Really, really bad. Oh, uh anime.... I started Shirobako, and boy am I confused. I'm still not quite sure what direction they're going to take the show. It's actually very interesting, and a nice change of pace from all the romcoms, and the save the world plots. It's definitely not what I expected. The first few episodes really just throw you into the middle, and make you try to figure out what's going on. I remember those nyain san non-stop pub stomps. If you tried to do something about it, you would get proto smacked, killed then yer dead body was tortured. Every time I killed a nyain san, i was like YUS [:twisted I remember TSL being still active back long ago. My character is around 2 years and several months old.

Easily the best thing I've seen in a whole, 10/10. The twists, the turns, the conclusions, the in-betweens, everything bout this was just fantastic.
Truly, a must watch for anime fans. Haven't touched the third movie, apparently I will get scarred if I watch it. Not going to ruin the image of a great anime just yet. Oh and the reason I did limiters is because no waifu will get more than 1 vote if we do no limiters. After the results I have received it seems like there will be no limiters, a best waifu per year and like 10(+) votes each year so that there will be a waifu with 2 votes. Also will be anime girls only (because f**k real life and its girls)

Joukamachi no Dandelion I haven't heard anyone mention this. I don't know why anyone hasn't said anything about this. This is a fabulous (queue fabulous freddie mercury pose) anime. Character development, comedy, a lot of familiar seiyuu-sans (I think I have heard almost all of the entire cast before) is there, slice of life is infamous for having little to no plot but it can be over shadowed by the comedy and character development. I was watching it for the first time and half way through the episode I realized that I was watching the 6th episode After baka to test, I really developed a taste for comedies with unique settings.

Shadowed Cola wrote:Everything Dies wrote:Yamada-kun to Nananin no Majo (Yamada and the Seven Witches)
9/10
Yamada is in his second year in high school. Initially hoping that high school would be the place where he could find meaning in his life, Yamada's fallen back into his old habits of being an anti-social delinquent. While berating Yamada yet again, his teacher points out the beautiful, quiet Shiraishi as someone to admire and look up to. Yamada pays little heed to this advice but finds himself intrigued by her nonetheless. A chance encounter (and accident) on a stairwell results in Yamada awakening in the infirmary...inside Shiraishi's body! Yamada's eyes are opened to the world around him as he experiences the difficulties that Shiraishi struggles with on a daily basis and, after talking over their situation, he and Shiraishi (who was inside Yamada's body) figure out that kissing enables them to switch bodies...a discovery that, unfortunately, doesn't go unnoticed by certain other people. Together, the two must gather friends around them as they search out the truth behind a mysterious school legend...
What an awesome show. Holy crap. A great romantic comedy from beginning to end, it succeeds in achieving that rarified air of having a couple that the viewer actively cheers on; the show avoids the formulaic "boy and girl obviously fall in love, so let's throw a bunch of obstacles at them to keep their future together in question" and instead goes with the subtle approach of having the relationship develop naturally over time. It was refreshing to see--given the plot device that the story focuses on--that the show avoids falling into harem territory. It makes it much more impactful when another character comes to the realization that she, too, loves Yamada...but understands that her love will never be returned in kind.
The comedy flows freely throughout the show and generally succeeds more often than not. Characters are an eclectic mix that are fleshed out just enough to avoid stereotypical tropes.
Let's see...if I had to complain about something, it'd probably have to be the structure of the show. Namely, we're treated to a wonderful six or seven episodes of watching the club come together and generally having a good time. After that, however, the story of the Seven Witches comes into play and the show rushes towards the climax. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult to care for the other witches as characters--their powers, too, are quickly introduced and then basically discarded for the remainder of the show.
Animation is solid and the girls are all attractive. Shiraishi, in particular, may be one of the most beautiful characters I've seen in any show...and yet, for some odd reason, her character almost seems to be "muted" in comparison to the others; she lacks the bold, striking colors used in other characters (particularly their hair) aside from her red eyes. She is, in many ways, drawn to reflect her personality--quiet and unassuming, yet strong and resilient. Music is decent. A few moments of ecchi but no nudity.
Verdict: Must-watch. Perhaps the best romantic comedy I've seen amongst anime shows. Do yourself a favor and watch it!
For the Record: To know Shiraishi is to love Shiraishi. What an unbelievably great character!!! It was the 'flow' that turned me off this show, ultimately. Rather then watching an interesting Rom-com that it's set up as - we get to see an episodic mixed-harem adventure whose romantic side gets used as a plot-device rather then something to watch the show for. what i mean is - look at Toradora. The issue all falls in line to be the same things, but a shallow look you would just see males and females acting out against each-other immaturely - aka, it's believable because the real messages are in the under-tones. But with Yamada there is nothing to look for, nothing to find, the show gives it to you all right away, then teases you with a plot that look like a real romance might blossom from - but instead is a plot device to give the characters purpose - but as viewers, we never get to enjoy there moments together because they have none. we're teased with a wonderful pairing we never get to actually watch. 7/10 Everything dies rated a rushed and incomplete anime 9/10... Maybe the manga deserved 9/10 but definitely not the anime. The anime has a lot of skipped out scenes, like more character development, comedy.. Sure within the 12 episodes there were definitely character development but i still felt like it was missing something, like it needed more fleshing out. If they had made it 25 episodes I would have no problem and with that ending it would be perfect. 25 episodes gives you double the time of 13 which would mean that there would be space for *rainbows appear* everything. This would be perfect for those who wanted more romance and screen time of the 7 witches.

third poll made no sense to me at all This limits the amount of animes by sorting them by year. So 2000-2015 would mean I would have to add all animes that aired from 2000 to 2015. Which would also mean me listing over 9000 waifu options... Even when they are separated by year, (2-5 or 10-15 votes per year) it would take a **** long time for me to find then list all the girls.

Actually, I have no idea what the first poll meant either. As for the third poll, can't you just let people suggest waifus, and then put the suggested ones on? Like, what if we have a pre-2000 waifu? I've watched K-On!, the show by which all "cute girls doing cute things" are judged. I've seen Azumanga Daioh, the grandpappy of the genre. I've immersed myself in Usagi Drop, which stars an adorable little girl. I've viewed Engaged to the Unidentified, and almost had my heart explode from Mashiro-Tan's almost illegal cuteness. However... Nothing, I mean nothing, prepared me for Non Non Biyori. I rate this as officially the cutest show of all time. I'm not just talking about the weaponized cuteness of Renge. I mean all of it is absolutely precious. This is a show that can instantly make any day a good day. Many shows make me happy by the time I'm done watching them. Non Non Biyori is the only show however, that actually relaxed me as well. I probably won't watch Repeat until it's finished though. This is definitely the kind of show I can easily marathon. Of course I can add pre-2000 waifu. There will be an "other" option which you can put your waifu in but I'd like to add them all before that poll. How many votes per year is pretty self-explanatory. This how the waifu poll works at the moment. I will add all girls from 2000-2015, separate them into different polls (sorting them by year) then each poll (basically each year) will have 1-15 votes and you can pick 1-15 girls within that year. So if its 2005-2015 then it will go like:
Spans 2005-2015 (this is the base years in which i will add the girls, waifus before 2005 can be accepted) Poll 2005: (url)
Poll 2006: (url)
and so on..
Poll 2015 (url)
Each poll (representing a year) will have 1-15 votes. Then at the end of each poll, you can see the results. So there will be a best dust waifu per year from 2005-2015. Then from the results of each year, there will be one last poll including the winners of each year polling against each other into one final BEST waifu.

So I'm currently watching Hellsing Ultimate, its been great so far. As if one pistol wasnt enough, they got him another pistol so that he could dual wield over-sized, overpowered pistols. 39 cms long, 16 kilograms heavy, 6 bullets each magazine, fires 13 mm armor piercing rounds. The rounds are jacketed with a "casing" of blessed Macedonian silver and tipped with a hollow point, which contains an explosive charge of pre-blessed mercury. I don't think this is a pistol.. more like a hand cannon (bolt pistol anyone?).

Everything Dies wrote:DearS 1/10 Ecchi/Harem/Sci-fi Aliens have crash-landed on Earth. Known as DearS, the 150 aliens aboard the ship have been adopted into Japanese society and have begun the process of further integrating themselves into the world. Takeya is a high school student that despises aliens--thanks to the sci-fi movies he saw when he was a kid--but his world is thrown for a loop when he rescues a DearS from a speeding truck. She kisses Takeya and later calls him, "Master." Takeya is slowly drawn into an unpleasant reality as he finds himself having to care for an alien he despises and an out-of-this-world danger... There is crap...and then there is DearS. Just awful. What could have been an interesting story (who the DearS are, and what their purpose is) is completely destroyed by one thing: Takeya is a horrible MC. He's portrayed as the put-upon protagonist that finds himself stumbling from one uncomfortable situation to the next...or at least, that's how he should be portrayed--in reality, he comes across as a petulant, ignorant A-hole whose treatment of the female characters is borderline abusive. He has zero redeeming qualities and completely manages to make himself look worse with every major decision he makes. The fact that I left out "Romance" from the genres should tell you all you need to know about how he handles personal relationships. You wait (and wait) for Takeya to offer some sort of redemption for himself...and in the end, you just want to see him get his @ss kicked. About the only interesting character in the show is the sex-crazed teacher. Animation is dated, but that doesn't excuse the downright ugliness of the characters. People apparently have freakishly large foreheads in this universe. Seriously, folks...there isn't a single attractive female character in the show. Music is pretty bad, too--just try and listen to the opening theme and you'll understand. Lots of ecchi thrown about (particularly with the teacher) but no actual nudity. Verdict: Don't. Just...don't. Unless you really, really want to get a better appreciation for shows that are actually good. For the Record: Umm...the teacher, I guess? Speaking of teachers, met my literature teacher today, boy was she fine. She just graduated from collage last year, 25 yrs old, she's so beautiful that when you look at her, you cant help but grin/blush. I estimated her BS to be size D. She's nice, upbeat and sweet like student teacher should be. She reminds me of jun from TWGOK.

8/10
Comedy/Romance/Harem
Keima and Elsie continue their quest to recapture all of the runaway spirits.
I can see...the entertainment! Season 2 kicks off by addressing one of my complaints from season 1--Kasuga is a gorgeous character (and one that I swear I've seen in at least a dozen other shows) and is probably surpassed by Jun towards the end of the season. Keima still refuses to develop as a character, though the show does a good job of hinting that he's actually beginning to develop feelings for the girls of the "real world." This also coincides with the realization that, though the girls he rescued have had their memories of him erased, there are lingering emotions towards Keima that the girls can't explain (similar to Yamada and the Seven Witches.) The introduction of Harqua offers the glimpses of actual romantic feelings towards Keima that aren't a result of his Conquests, and also serves to bring Elsie's feelings toward Keima more into focus; the groundwork has been laid for an actual harem to come into play in the future, should the show go that route. Humor is also much improved over the first season.
Biggest complaint from the first season remains (lack of character development) but season 2 does move things forward.
Animation, as a whole, seems improved from the first season. Music remains absolutely incredible and earned an extra point for the show. Quite possibly the best in-show music I've heard in an anime.
Verdict: Season 2 does enough to push the show into the "watchable" category. Have high hopes for season 3!
For the Record: In a stunning reversal of season one, I found it quite difficult to pick a favorite girl from season 2. If I had to choose, I'd go with Chihiro. TWGOK favorite waifu, START!! Mine is probably 1. Ayumi 2. Kasuga 3. Shiori/Kanon

When you are checking which anime you want to watch, are there any words that instantly turn you off of a series? For me, if I see the word "harem" show it's face I generally won't watch it. I usually turn away from ecchi and cliche animes. Stuff like Kuusen madoushi is a good example. They just attract ecchi loving harem teens.

Everything Dies wrote:Nisekoi (Nisekoi: False Love) Season 2:
8/10
School Life/Harem/Comedy/Romance
Raku's relationship woes continue as yet more beautiful women enter his social circle.
I remember a previous comment warning me about season 2 so I refrained from watching it. However, with kissanime being down I simply picked a show that I was already familiar with...and I'm glad that I did. I enjoyed this season, perhaps even more so than the first. This season is all about Raku doing what he does best--being a genuinely nice guy that cares about his friends and wants nothing more than to see them smile. So even though the overall plot--that of the locket and Raku's destined love--remains unmoved, this season works to further develop the romantic feelings of each harem candidate while also showing how easy it is for Raku to (unknowingly) gain more love interests.
Yes, the storylines are rather predictable (in that you know Raku's personality is going to win the girls over) but the fact that Raku is able to pull it off with such genuine sincerity cements his place as a great "harem king." The season does a great job of juggling his conscious pursuit of Kosaki with his natural dedication to others, primarily Chitoge; Raku is becoming more and more aware of Chitoge's beauty and the fact that, given their rough start, he's actually enjoying his time with her. It'd be a stretch at this point to say that he's in love with her, but there is definitely a strong undercurrent of romance building between them.
One episode stands out to me: episode 10, "Support." This is Raku at his most basic, yet best--frustrated by the fact that his friend Shu can see all of the confusion surrounding him, Raku realizes that, for all of Shu's enthusiasm for the opposite sex, he has no idea who Shu's crush is. Investigating further, Raku discovers the object of Shu's affection...and realizes that the relationship is doomed to never happen. The episode does a fantastic job of mirroring two simultaneous stories--Shu's struggle with whether or not to declare his love for the teacher and Seishiro's struggle with whether or not to declare her love for Raku. It's a bittersweet look at love that can never be, and the strength it takes to recognize that fact. Yet through it all, Raku does everything in his power to support Shu--it's a rare moment in harem comedies where male friends are treated as anything more than tertiary characters and you get a sense of how Raku's personality enables him to build such strong relationships with those around him.
Animation remains solid. Characters are continually gorgeous, from the understated Kosaki to the voluptuous Seishiro. Music is unobtrusive.
Verdict: An improvement over the first season and a thoroughly enjoyable exploration of Raku's character. The parrot is hilarious.
For the Record: Wow, it's getting really tough to pick a favorite (a sign of a quality harem show.) Still have a soft spot for Kosaki, but Seishiro's interactions with Raku are hilarious. I'm still in shock as to see how you scored it an 8/10. The pacing was ****, there was no connection between episodes, it was more or less a not-so-good-jumble of random clips. Literally nothing happened within season 2. 1 episode for marika, 1 episode for introducing the white tiger, 1-3 episodes for chitoge (GO TEAM CHITOGE!), 1 episode for whats-her-name-that-shy-girl, 1 episode for the little sister of said shy girl which was meant to be several episodes longer but because we need more fan service let's put all the remaining episodes into complete and utter bollocks that make no sense at at. Why make the other episodes **** when you can develop the just introduced characters? The only plot that existed was the chitoge/milf arc. I saw character development in there so instead of a 6/10 I gave it 7/10.

Yes, Mahjong is a sport. The reason it's good, (and that I can't wait for the next season), is that it's less about playing Mahjong, and more about the girls that play it. It's cast is around 30 characters, and I love that. Very few shows can let me engage and really feel as close to every character as Saki. You know it's good when you're coming to the final confrontation and you're rooting for everyone to win. Dreis ShadowWeaver wrote:I watched the first 6 episodes of Deadman Wonderland today.

It has great potential to be better. Truly a diamond in the rough. With a second season you can get so much character development where the first season was lacking.

Not anime, but manga so it's close enough. I've been reading manga on Kissmanga, and I've found just the most awesome one. Love/Death. It's written by Kuzushiro who made Inugami-San to Nekoyama-San. I think I can sell you on Love/Death with 2 words: Yuri, Yanderes. Reason you don't see Ice anymore is he spends his time playing, same with a few others. You guys are free to use Anime Empire channel to meet up - pretty much everyone else left it who isn't a fan. I'm on a break... A permanent break... I haven't been active these few days, I have been busy with a lot of stuff. A war, school, more school and I use the rest of my free time to watch anime. But passion is what will define us. I love anime, and my shows will ooze that love. So if anyone is willing to help, I could use it!
The first show I'll probably review is Six Flowers, but I'm undecided on how to start this all. Any ideas would be appreciated! :3 Definitely mention something about the waifu poll. I am 3 episodes into Code Geass and loving it so far but... It's the only show that isn't on Crunchyroll, Funimation, or Netflix, and that makes it difficult to remember to watch it lol So I'll get around to it eventually As for SNAFU, I really don't find the appeal that other people seem to have for it. Maybe it's because of how realistic it is? Most slice of life shows have some unique aspect about them, at least. If it was actually a romantic comedy like Toradora I'd have more positive things to say about it, but I felt dissatisfied after two seasons of "school life" with a final episode of things finally getting interesting :/ Different tastes, like how Everything Dies gave No Game No Life a 6/10...
Quote:Everything Dies did such a thing? Blasphemy. Kawaii is justice so that means Loli is love, Loli is life. How can you even consider rating NGNL 6/10 and rate monster musume 10/10?!
This was basically my reaction after I read that. Much fanboy, so doge, very lol.

Nothing much has happened within the first 3 episodes but story building. Which isn't bad but it's boring, though I can't wait until the fight happens. Normally I wouldn't do suggest it but since dust is ending and we could use another gathering place, why not MAL? We could create a club and post in there. Plus, there's a huge anime community already over there so it would be easier for more anime-based stuff. I could even make that waifu post I've been planning to do. Right now I don't see why we aren't already over there.
I just took a look at the discord channel. It seems okay and we could keep in touch with other dust players. I'd be okay with either but making a permanent home seems better over at mal.
