Episode 6>These girls are making their situation a much bigger deal than it really is Episode 7>Over halfway through, main girl still isn't a magical girl, and side chick is now crazy.
Gonna finish it tonight, keeping my expectations high despite my instincts telling me that I'm only going to be disappointed.
I feel like it would be a much better show if the first couple episodes were super happy fun time, instead of trippy worlds and creepy characters that never smile.

Akame ga Kill and School Live did a really good job of this, but Madoka didn't Nah man, Madoka just gets better as it goes on. I watched it when I was still an anime noob, so it traumatized me forever..... Well, maybe not that much, but I really loved that aesthetic and the dark undertones that slowly overtook the whole thing. Honestly, episode 3 was unexpected, but it really hit me during episode 4 when I realized that it wasn't a one-off and what direction the show was going toward.
I didn't finish Akame ga Kill, because after *SPOILER ALERT* Shele died I realized that I was bored and didn't care about any of the characters. It was obvious every single one of them was going to die, and I just didn't care.
School Live is quickly climbing into one of my favorite spots. That disconnect between the cute girls doing cute things, and the horror is really creepy. I always fell uneasy when I watch it.

Machine-Doll wa Kizutsukanai (Unbreakable Machine-Doll)
6/10
Royal Academy is a school for Puppeteers--powerful humans with the ability control Automatons and lead them in battle. Raishin is accepted into the school and promptly places next-to-last amongst students with his test scores, earning the nickname "Second Last." However, he isn't worried about his grades...Raishin, alongside his Automaton Yaya, has come to this school for one purpose alone--he seeks to kill the top student and avenge the deaths of his parents and little sister.
A pretty decent anime overall. Yet another power fantasy/ecchi/harem blend; as a power fantasy, the results are decidedly mixed. Raishin possesses some unique talents, but you don't really get a sense of any sort of growth from him. As an ecchi show it's far more subdued than more recent shows such as DxD and the like, and as a harem show it does little aside from the throw the protagonist into comedic moments.
That said, the show is saved by the likeable characters. Yaya is constantly amusing (and tragic) with her desire to be closer to Raishin. Charl is a typical tsundere-with-a-past character that develops as the season plays out. Frey and Loki bring out interesting sides of Raishin's personality, and Shouka is presented well as a solid love/hate character whose motivations are always left in mystery.
Unfortunately, the show is only 12 episodes and doesn't tell a complete story. This season is all about introducing characters and getting you to care for them, so if a follow-up season is never released you'll be stuck with no resolution whatsoever. Another way of looking at it would be to view this as high school and we're only seeing the freshman year.
Animation is good. Characters tend to be more cute than attractive, though the older females are basically vixens (with voices that match.) Ecchi is used mainly for comedy--particularly Yaya's desperate attempts at getting closer to Raishin--and actual nudity is exceedingly limited outside of the specials. Ending music is potentially a dangerous ear worm--the cuteness is infectious.
Mike Patton is the greatest singer in music. Proof

we never spoke again, lol. EoN? EoN is old. How old? It was gone before I even started playing. When I started Sver True Blood still had the most kills, Nyain San was an unstoppable juggernaut, and the rail/combat rifles didn't even exist yet. Oh, and I was bad. Really, really bad. Oh, uh anime....
I started Shirobako, and boy am I confused. I'm still not quite sure what direction they're going to take the show. It's actually very interesting, and a nice change of pace from all the romcoms, and the save the world plots. It's definitely not what I expected. The first few episodes really just throw you into the middle, and make you try to figure out what's going on.

Every time I killed a nyain san, i was like YUS [:twisted I remember TSL being still active back long ago. My character is around 2 years and several months old. Oh and don't expect much from shirobako, it will amaze as you watch it. Around the first few episodes I didn't really like it but it slowly got better to the point of amazing The character names are really difficult and you will have a rough time knowing whos who but daijobu (I'm sorry, I just had to) it took me like episode 11 to finally remember the char names- why? because they have screen time on almost all aspects of the staff (i would have liked more color production/CGI staff and Nabe P char development). One of the characters that you will see grow(apart from the 5 girls) is the director. I won't spoil it for you but he really is amazing (and badass ). The plot itself is the main girl run around and do her job (what did you expect? its a real life setting with adult characters) unless you need a slice of adulthood, you won't enjoy it much. I would say that it isn't the plot or the characters (but the characters are amazing ) that make it really amazing but the conversation and the realistic message it sends. so do i, i remember that half the reason they stomped so hard was because when they joined the server dissolved into this massive ******* lag fest and meant it was impossible to try and coordinate your fire at all. god i started before nyain san existed and it was the imperfects who went round proto stomping. i remember me and a full LOTIS squad dying again and again trying to kill Mr Zito's (i think that was his name...) tank while it had a squad of imperfects with it.

Truly, a must watch for anime fans. Haven't touched the third movie, apparently I will get scarred if I watch it. Not going to ruin the image of a great anime just yet. Oh and the reason I did limiters is because no waifu will get more than 1 vote if we do no limiters. After the results I have received it seems like there will be no limiters, a best waifu per year and like 10(+) votes each year so that there will be a waifu with 2 votes. Also will be anime girls only (because f**k real life and its girls)

If anything, it's a great continuation. I always wondered how she stopped from going into despair after Madoka became a god - and now it all makes sense. |

Joukamachi no Dandelion I haven't heard anyone mention this. I don't know why anyone hasn't said anything about this. This is a fabulous (queue fabulous freddie mercury pose) anime. Character development, comedy, a lot of familiar seiyuu-sans (I think I have heard almost all of the entire cast before) is there, slice of life is infamous for having little to no plot but it can be over shadowed by the comedy and character development. I was watching it for the first time and half way through the episode I realized that I was watching the 6th episode After baka to test, I really developed a taste for comedies with unique settings.

Majimoji Rurumo
7/10
Shibaki is a high school student that just so happens to be known as the biggest pervert in school. As a member of the Mysterious Discovery Club, he takes part in a ritual to summon a witch and have a wish granted. Flustered, he wishes for girl's underwear--much to his surprise, the ritual works! The witch Rurumo grants his wish, setting off a chain of events that bonds the two of them over the course of several wacky adventures!
I liked this show. A nice, simple ecchi comedy that doesn't take itself seriously or strive to be anything more than it is. The show centers on the slow, awkward growth of Shibaki as he comes to understand the importance of friends and caring for others. Rurumo is a charming--though tragic--character that is reminiscent of "AI" characters due to her lack of expression. I wouldn't quite call this show a romance; though the attraction between Shibaki and Rurumo becomes more obvious as the show goes on, the focus rests more with how the two of them bring together various groups of people and create a circle of friends. As a side note, Shibaki's mom is hilarious.
Animation is decent, if a bit simplistic. Frequent ecchi utilized for comedic purposes though no actual nudity is seen. Music is so-so aside from one notable moment.
Give the show a chance if you're just wanting to chill out and not have to think too hard...just be warned, though--episode 6 hits hard. If you don't tear up a bit by the end, you're a heartless bastard.
Also, if anyone else has seen the show let me know what you think of the final scene with the clock (more precisely, the time it's indicating.)

Might I suggest Tamako Market then? It's pretty much an average comedy/slice of life show, except for it's setting. It takes place in a vibrant shopping arcade, and I just fell in love with it. The whole show felt that much more alive because of it's setting. It's one of my favorite anime worlds.
Oh, and I've been watching Shirobako some more, and have to say that Aoi Miyamori is a Weapons Grade Waifu. She is only the second waifu to achieve this status. The show isn't the funniest, or the coolest, or the most interesting, or the most action packed, but where it does shine is it's characters. They all feel very real, and have great interactions with each other. This is one of the very few anime I think could be adapted to real life without suffering too much.
Btw, waifu grades: B Grade A Grade S Grade SS Grade Weapons Grade

Almost time for work, but before I go:
Toradora! (Tiger X Dragon)
9/10
Ryuuji is a run-of-the-mill high schooler with a big problem--his appearance makes everyone assume that he's a delinquent! As luck would have it, he runs into Taiga, aka the "Palmtop Tiger" at school and they get off on the wrong foot. Matters only get worse when Ryuuji discovers a love letter from Taiga that is intended for his friend; a furious Taiga makes Ryuuji act as her servant as he tries to unite the two. At the same time, Taiga agrees to work towards pairing Ryuuji up with her friend, Minori. Things only get more complicated when a beautiful model named Ami transfers into the school and sets her sights on Ryuuji. But with all of the love swirling around the school, will Taiga and Ryuuji find that what they've been looking for has been right in front of them all this time?
Let me just say that I LOVED this show. I have no idea why kissanime has it listed under ecchi--there's actually nothing risqu+¬ about this show. Instead, you're treated to 25 episodes of a wonderful "will they or won't they" romance that does an incredible job of making you care about the various characters as they struggle to overcome the challenges of falling in love and dealing with rejection. Anyone that's finished high school can understand the whirlwind of emotions that comes with growing up and growing apart, and of being trapped in that middle ground of no longer being a child but not quite an adult yet.
I loved the interplay between Ryuuji and Taiga and the show does a wonderful job of putting the ultimate pairings in doubt up to the end. My favorite character of them all is probably Ami, who gradually evolves from being a cold-hearted, two-faced b*tch into a gentle soul that realizes what is happening around her and is honest with her feelings, even if she is powerless to acquire the happiness she seeks.
About my only real complaint with the show is Minori's character--as the object of Ryuuji's affections, her character is rather annoying as the "ditzy/weird friend." Later episodes soften her character up and she becomes a sympathetic figure, but by that point she's clearly the least desirable of the three potential love interests.
Animation is decent and not particularly noteworthy, though it wasn't until the very end of the show when I finally realized why so much attention is paid to Ryuuji's "delinquent" eyes--how quickly did everyone else notice?
If you're looking for a solid romance/"slice of life" show, this is it.
Mike Patton is the greatest singer in music. Proof
