OOC: By the gods! For one we were worried sick about you! Glad to have you back.
It's late so I might miss a few details.
After the Engineer was transported out of the floating base a hooded Halvedes confronted Vektor. Vektor was overpowered and was eaten alive by the ito in the lab. Xavier wakes up on the same base and attacks the nearby doctors. He is approached by a group of guards who try to restrain him. He grabs the youngest soldier and proceeds to channel some type of dark magick into him, ruining his poor mind. As the guards prepare to attack they are interrupted by cloaked Halvedes who orders them to stop. When the oldest guard objects he reveals himself. Halvedes has now become a tall, powerful being with clear skin called the Void. Anything Void consumes enters his body as a visible stream of energy. Thanatos has realized that Fate has somehow intervened, in a way that was forbidden even for gods. He and Nexhawk travel by phoenix to the floating base and prepare for what lies ahead. Nexhawk notices that Thanatos is physically growing weaker, yet he pays no mind. Void escorts the liberated Xavier into a portal that he created to Fate's Star Palace or whatever I called it 50 pages ago. Nexhawk engages Void alone while Thanatos looks for a vantage point for a surprise attack. Surprisingly nothing Nexhawk does seems damage the Void, only hurt him. Meanwhile Sandromin had already left Diyad and Alixenus had taken to the water, planning to use ships to pull the base down(He had overheard Thanatos command his Alkhemists to do so). Eventually the base is brought down, however Void has one final trick. He uses material that he has absorbed to create golems, using souls to fuel said golems. At the mention of souls Thanatos is overtaken by some otherworldly persona, calling upon vast amounts of power(He had wings and glowing eyes, pretty cool huh?). He then begins to fight Void. Meanwhile Alixenus has taken to the streets, fighting of the golem threat. With the help of a mysterious alkhemist he is able to use a canister filled with iyo as an explosive to wipe out a large number, both of them included. Void retreats through a portal and Thanatos also enters some sort of near-death state. After a series of visions(seriously you should read those) Thanatos awakens. He regroups with Nexhawk to find Alixenus in a medical tent, presumed dead. It is revealed by the physicians that a certain rpg forum member forgot about iyo having poisonous radiation. Now Alixenus has 90 days to live with a single talisman keeping him alive.
Brutus is in Gran Arcadia still and whenever he responds he will be uncovering a conspiracy that will directly affect Diyad as well as the destinies of all of our characters.
Conyr is... somewhere. I've purposefully chosen not to read Vyzions or Brutus's side stories, so I can be genuinely surprised later on.
At the Logipriest lands Xavier is currently battling Nexhawk's soldiers in search for the Eye(?). Alixenus's soldiers are in the giant lands helping out Brutus's other characters.
And to top it off now that you are back, Alixenus is gone for similar reasons.
You may want to read the last five or so pages. There is an important culture list thing you should fill out.
That's pretty much it I think, however I am not a "Super Professional Executive Summarizer" like Xavier. |

Woah that was intense, now I know what it really feels like to be Alixenus, save for the radiation poisoning *sniff, sniff* Hopefully having a lecture timetable will make me realise that its time to get back to work; speaking of which....
While Thanatos spoke, Alixenus chewed thoughtfully on his rations. When the Monarch finished, he put down chunk of bread loaf in his hand and regarded the plate in front of him for a while. Alixenus then took a sip of water before he finally spoke.
"Do you know how many times I have nearly died Thanatos? Too many to count, and too many to count is the absolute maximum of extra lives the Gods will give you. This had to happen. I'm a warrior, dying is what we do. And I know that I was ended in service to a noble cause. Its a strange feeling knowing that my end is certain this time, but I knew in my heart that I would not live to be a Greybeard, even though it started to seem that way lately. I am at peace with this Thanatos, I've seen too much in my few decades. My only hope is that you, my Lord, find your own peace. Now, would you kindly direct toward that ***** Fate so I can wring the life from her?" |

Sandromin had finally found Alixenus. Weakened by this magic, he decided to use the last of his strength to manifest a clay likeness of himself near the medical tent to talk directly to him. Eventually, he had finally created a golem in his image; it was through this golem that Sandromin was able manifest his consciousness. In this golem's body, Sandromin began walking to the tent. It was time.
"Ugh, I will never get used to that..." began Sandromin, regarding his state. "Where are they? Ah, over there; that is the tent."
With a direct gait, he began the short walk as if he was a part of the scenery. He simply opened the flap to the tent and walked in to talk. |

Conyr woke, and the first thing he saw was a great airship, floating majestically in the sky, seemingly aloft by magic. It's streamlined balloon and the elegant lines of the undercarriage reminded Conyr of Hakyi's kalteraft, and pain clutched at the logipriest's heart as he recalled the terrible events that had fallen upon his friend.
The airship was stationary in the morning sky. Although Conyr could only tell it was morning from the faint sunlight shining through the contagious clouds smothering the whole world.
Conyr lay there, simply gazing at the ship silently, oblivious to the activity around him, the lull in the storm as either side of the war prepared themselves for round two. |

Yeah, it's a little quiet. I think it should be no problem to bring your Engineer to... uh, I think Sandy's capital is where everyone is gathering at the moment.
To be honest, we're getting lost amongst our battle against the gods. It's too, epic. I mean, if we win, what happens after? I mean, we're picking a fight with GODS! I feel as if there isn't anything else after them, which means I think ADVENTURE TIME is in order.
I mean, in the really long, mainstream animes and books like the Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings, the final objective is reached after many hardships. I don't think we've faced enough 'hardships'. Battles where we lose, but which we learn from. Fights we pick that is too much for one, but easy when we join forces. Xavier had the right idea, providing conflict between ourselves. I think it's time to flesh out Conyr's selfish side... |

Brutus was walking around the rebels compound. He wasn't really sure what to to do. Yes he was about to be in another war that he had only just heard of. And yes he dreaded the idea of taking even more lives in a war, a war that he shouldn't really be in. The giant sighed and sat down in a lonely corner. He didn't really feel like talking to anyone here. Franklin and Sara were busy being with their old allies, the snake was in the infirmary, and Marco was planning for the coming battles. Brutus had no family here, and the leaders were off who knew where doing who knew what, while Brutus was lost in a land that he was still unfamiliar with. The giant sighed again, he was feeling tired of being so depressed all the time. He remembered when he used to be proud, joyous, and a leader, now he was downtrodden, depressed and a mindless grunt of the world going from battle to battle as the world fought and died around him. In all honesty Brutus wished to be dead, he had seen so much death in his long life, so many friends fall, so many allies perish, so many enemies die, why did he survive all this time? Why was he still alive, still slogging through existence, a burden on all those that he came around, bringing only death and destruction. There he was again, questioning everything he had ever done, how had he become such a pessimists? Brutus stood back up and shook his head. He was done being so depressing. He had finally decided that it was time to finally go back to being what he had been before. A protector of the weak and defenseless. A hero to the average civilian. A one man army. Brutus walked back to Marco seeing preparations being made by the rebels. Weapons, armors and machines were being prepped for the coming war. Brutus found Marco with other officers looking over a map. "Ahh, Brutus you've returned." "Brutus ready. When do we go?" Marco smiled. "Soon Brutus. Soon." |

As the Skirmishers fled from their positions on the cliff tops, Shield bearers at the front of the Venezzian forces fanned out on either side of the column, all the while keeping time with the Column. As the Skirmishers neared the line they turned and reformed their ranks, either because of the sense of security provided by their comrades or because of the fact that any panicked deserters were immediately smacked to the ground without a second thought. The formation as a whole began to wheel around towards the mouth of the canyon, forming the line of battle as it did so. Pikemen formed up into Phalanxes with shield bearers securing their left flank, the sheer drop of the canyon protected their right. In the second were the crossbowmen with Lombardi's person cavalry at the centre. Behind that were footknights, Shield bearers and the Heavy infantry. Skirmishers screened the front of the Pikemen while Light cavalry were already riding ahead to begin harassing whatever was assailing the humans in the Valley. Mounted knights, other heavy horse and the Lucian Mercenaries moved in a general mass with the main army on their right. As the army neared, the airships overhead began to wheel around to engage them, but from behind, Lombardi could just detect the unmistakable whistling of Ballista bolts.
"Good," He thought to himself "The sailors are still awake. Lets hope those Bolts hit the mark, I'm really not feeling up to evasive action today" |

Thanatos looked down. Silently pondering. He takes a deep breath.
"Karthage has taken a deal of damage, nothing we can't repair in a day though. However the situation has indeed changed. Now it the time to evaluate what has happened. Something unexpected has happened. Fate has shown that she is willing to do anything to stop us. She has done something which the gods' deemed forbidden long ago. Now we don't know the extent of her plan, but we do know this:
She has made my own subject, Halvedes into a monster; the Void.
She is planning to wipe out Dustia using Freedom's Star, the Sun.
The Elder Gods are creating New Gods, in order to enforce some master plan, some controlled system.
They are using souls of the dead as tools to create these New Gods.
Freedom is now, without a doubt, gone.
Alixenus has 90 days to live.
Brutus is still missing"
Thanatos draws in the silence into his own heart, then releases.
"There is only one conclusion I can come to. You must continue on with this expedition."
For a moment, Sandromin and Alixenus heard a silent whisper. It didn't appear to come from anyone. Thanatos was unfazed, for these were the words of his mind, the words that belonged to his other self. They were powerful, commanding, and ominous.
The only way to find the truth is to stop chasing it. |

Nexhawk looked seemingly unfazed by Sandromin's appearance, and yet he was intrigued by the Sandman's earthen projection. It reminded him of a certain spell that he had seen used on Praecantaria a long time ago...
But the Ashborn shook his head, getting rid of the unnecessary thoughts. He decided to make a remark, "Sol'Krin is not gone. He is simply in hiding, but I still feel his slight presence." With these words, he turned to Sandromin. "I have knowledge of Xavier bringing havoc upon the home island of Logipriests. My men are currently excavating their temple, and they are in an imminent danger that I just cannot ignore. Hence," he addressed the entire party, "I suggest we leave Karthage immediately for Arteum, take short preparations there, and rapidly travel to the island to deal with Xavier and retrieve the Eye of Nak'Sora that is buried there." After speaking thus, Nexhawk addressed the entire group. "I think the fastest way might be on my ship, Embershard. The vessel, as Ignatus told me, has followed your aircraft steadily all the way to Karthage and must be stationed somewhere in the bay. Thanatos, could you please show us the way?" |

As the revelry by the docks in Venezzia began to die down as the Armada steadily fell below the Horizon, an exquistely carved and masterfully made coach pulled away towards the South of the city. As it passed thorough the Bignorian gate its wheels handled the shift in terrain from stone paving to cobblestones with ease. The Horses pulled it along as if there was no weight behind them. After several hours it arrived at one of the few noble compunds still outside the city walls, built at the turn of the Third era. The gates swung open and the wagon gently pulled inside. Above the Grand, oaken doors of the Manor, the family crest of Blue fess cotised between two Bulls Sable [for the unitiated thats a shield with a Blue horizontal division separating two black bulls against a Gold Background]. The coach door was pulled open and Duke Frederico Vincenzo, stepped out. Despite now being four and seventy years of age, he was still able to move under his own power. He ignored his servants and looked determinedly on at his ancestral home. As he ascended the Solid marble steps, he personal steward approached him and said that all of his guests had arrived and were waiting in the Ballroom. Vincenzo nodded and waved him away, the steward taking up a respectful distance behind him as he stepped into the Ballroom.
Inside the vast, vaulted space were fellow Venezzian nobles, a great number of Merchants, a few Lucian dignitaries and even a Sandman. They were gathered around a banquet table that was equally covered in opulent food as it was in ledgers and maps. Vincenzo strode into the room so that he was at the head of the table and could be seen by all.
"Friends!" He began, "Fellow Venezzians and acquaintances from foreign lands. We all know why we are here. This Republic, neigh this world stands upon the edge of ruin. And it is all due to one foolish warrior who got it into his head that he had the right to treat us like his plaything. Alixenus!" A muttering of curses and foul oaths came from all present. "Because of him, our Republic is emptied of its fighting men. Because of him, we have all been wracked by war. Because of him, our Governments have been torn asunder. It is time to restore what has been taken from us! We shall remove Alixenus' supporters, reduce Petruccio's administration to quivering puppets and, when they hopefully return, reduce the Republic army back to its old size."
A Lucian dignitary now spoke "You have the support of our regime in this matter, if in return you help to silence our opposition so that we may claim to be the heirs to Xavier" "You shall have it, Lord Dwarf. And to further cement our good relations I shall shut down all Venezzian mining in Lucia" "Then the Fellhammer pact is with you" The Dwarf bowed in respect. The sandman, his clothes ragged but frame impressive and athletic now spoke. "What few resources I have are yours for this task also, not all of us have forgotten Alixenus' murder of Urthag Armok" Vincenzo smiled "Neither have I, rest assured that your leader shall be avenged. When this is over, all of Alixenus' property shall be yours to do with as you see fit. Would you not also wish to make war on Sandromin for his hand in Armok's death?" "One foe at a time Vincenzo" A portly merchant, middle aged in bright clothing now spoke, a small amount of gravy forgotten in his Beard. "If you don't mind me asking my Lords, what is to stop Alixenus simply marching in here and killing us all when he returns? Its not like a few decrees are going to make the army forget its loyalty to him, especially if they do well in this insane campaign."
Vincenzo thought long about his answer, he could feel the eyes of all present upon him. But before he could answer, another voice spoke.
Perhaps I could be of assistance to you?

" Yes... Someone should be along with clothes for you any moment now. You two should prepare to depart soon. Meet up with Sandromin and continue onward. It is imperative that you do. I however, will not be joining you for now. I've been gone for nearly an entire season. Until today my people believed I no longer drew breath. The integrity of my kingdom is weak, it would be my greatest sin, if I were to leave them with no king again."
A bustling young servant stumbled into the tent carrying a sack on his back, dropping his spectacles on the ground. He reaches to pick them up but loses his grip; after a moment of juggling them in the air he finally manages to catch them and put them back on.
"Y-your highness, here are the clothes you asked for."
He hands the sack to Thanatos who inspects it before handing it to Alixenus. In the sack is a maroon jacket with gold straps at the arms and left shoulder, some light brown trousers, boots and gloves.
"Nothing custom, or overly fancy, but this should do aye?"
