Please note: A full refund of all skill points and ISK spent on skillbooks in the Dropsuit Command skill tree will take place when the patch is deployed.
Path to Game and Overall UI * Inline skill book purchasing added back to the marketplace.
Gameplay * War Point rewards for vehicle damage have been reintroduced.
Dropsuits * Added Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar Heavy Frames. This includes Basic, Sentinel and Commando roles for each faction. * Added Caldari and Amarr Light Frames. This includes Basic and Scout roles for each faction. * Base stats have been adjusted for all Medium Frames. This includes Basic, Assault and Logistics roles. * For full details of the dropsuit changes, please see the dev blogs available on the DUST 514 website.
Weapons * Added Caldari Magsec SMG. * Added Caldari Bolt Pistol. * Added Gallente Ion Pistol. * Mass Driver: - Increased base direct/splash damage from 242/116 to 300/145. * Laser Rifle: - Increased effective range and increased damage at short range, reduced heat cost at ADV and PRO tiers. - Improved zoom FOV. * Time-to-kill (TTK) improvements: - Proficiency skills of handheld weapons now grant 3% damage per level to either armor or shields (depending on the relevant weaponGÇÖs profile) rather than a flat increase to both. - Damage mods have been reduced to 3%/4%/5% bonus to weapon damage from 3%/5%/10% previously. - Base damage has been reduced on the following weapons: Assault Rifle, Scrambler Rifle, Combat Rifle, Rail Rifle, Submachine Gun. - Grenade count has been reduced by 1 for all grenade types.
Modules/Equipment * Added Cloak Field equipment. * Altered stats of existing equipment: - Active scanner cooldown times increased. Scanner functionality changed to now perform "snapshot" scans in order to stop 360 degree spins. - Range on repair tools reduced. - Drop uplink spawn times increased. - Nanohive nanite supply reduced.
Skills * Altered existing skills for Assault, Scout, Sentinel, Commando and Logistics roles:
* Assault [5% reduction to PG/CPU cost of light/sidearm weapons] - Caldari Assault: +5% to reload speed of hybrid railgun light/sidearm weapons per level. - Gallente Assault: 5% reduction to hybrid - blaster light/sidearm hip-fire dispersion and kick per level. - Minmatar Assault: +5% to projectile light/sidearm clip size per level. - Amarr Assault: 5% reduction to laser weaponry heat build-up per level.
* Logistics [5% reduction to PG/CPU cost of equipment] - Caldari Logistics: +10% to nanohive maximum nanites and +5% to supply rate and repair amount per level. - Gallente Logistics: +10% to active scanner visibility duration and +5% to active scanner precision per level. - Minmatar Logistics: +10% to repair tool range and 5% to repair amount per level. - Amarr Logistics: 10% reduction to drop uplink spawn time and +2 to maximum spawn count per level.
* Sentinel [+5% damage resistance to splash damage per level] - Caldari Sentinel: 3% shield resistance to hybrid - blaster weapons, 2% shield resistance to laser weapons per level. - Gallente Sentinel: 3% armor resistance to hybrid - railgun weapons, 2% armor resistance to projectile weapons per level. - Minmatar Sentinel: 3% shield resistance to laser weapons, 2% armor resistance to hybrid - blaster weapons per level. - Amarr Sentinel: 3% armor resistance to projectile weapons, 2% shield resistance to hybrid - railgun weapons per level.
* Commando [5% reduction to reload speed of light/sidearm weapons] - Caldari Commando: +2% damage to light hybrid GÇô railgun weapons. - Gallente Commando: +2% damage to light hybrid GÇô blaster weapons. - Minmatar Commando: +2% damage to light projectile and explosive weapons. - Amarr Commando: +2% damage to light laser weapons.
* Scout [+15% reduction to PG/CPU cost of cloak field per level] - Caldari Scout: +5% bonus to dropsuit scan radius and scan precision per level. - Gallente Scout: +5% bonus to dropsuit scan radius and 5% reduction to scan profile per level. - Minmatar Scout: 5% bonus to hacking speed and Nova Knife damage per level. - Amarr Scout: +5% bonus to stamina regen and maximum stamina per level.
Planetary Conquest * Locking a district will now ensure the attacker loses clones and ISK when there is no battle.
Factional Warfare * Adjusted the battle spawning so that factions will need to spend more time defending their districts proportionally to the number of districts they control.
Other * Improved performance on certain maps that had a high installation count. * To ensure parity with EVE Online support, customer support for DUST 514 will now only be offered in the following languages: English, Russian, Japanese, and German.

Kinda? I' am utterly disappointed. AV gets another nerf because of that stupid 3 to 2 grenade number, the only forge gun who really can deal with tanks nowadays is still the proto one which in itself costs more than the tank it needs to kill. Swarm launchers are still ridiculous and the question of the LAV, you only need a heavy suit ass_hole with a HMG and a LAV and hes almost invincible. Sad, just sad. We waited all this time for this? Ambush is the kingdom of Duna and his croonies, and also the tank abusers.

This should go part way towards helping the AV crowd. I think vehicle prices should be increased to make loss painful and reduce vehicle spam. About Assault Dropship level pricing should do it and maybe even higher for HAVs. Then the role of infantry based AV is to force vehicles to retreat and take the pressure off the infantry while they get busy capturing or killing other infantry. Now that infantry based AV gets their WP it'll make the role more attractive.
I've said it before but CCP will not talk about price changes until after the fact to avoid stockpiling.

A bit underwhelming, after 3 1/2 months none of the issues introduced with 1.7 were addressed I am sure we are going to have some fun with the new toys but I am sure the patch will introduce stuff that's OP/broken. And I guess you won't have time until after Fanfest to address those either

i would not be surprised if CCP dose a stelth nurf for tank mods but i dont mind not carrying to many av grenades it gives me more of a goal to try and solo a tank just like this build and i did it in this build so why not the next im looking forward to the challenge

I can't wait to have racial parity behind us, I'm happy all this has FINALLY made it in but after such a long wait, it's pretty underwhelming.
Nerfing damage mods and AV by making its proficiency only add to armor damage was short sighted at best, and I don't expect a fix until the fanfest build at least.

The rail rifle and combat rifle are getting nerfed a little harder than the rest. But still disappointing to see really nothing besides WP on the vehicle front.

WP for AV damage may be the AV buff needed. AV is funny because if you get a critical mass of it, you can tear tanks a part. Get 5 forgers and they can just insta pop every tank that comes near the objective. (Still wont help ambush much).
So incentivising AV may push the AV usage to critical mass where AV becomes easy-ish. Its a good first pass. Introduce this then re-assess balanace after. If AV got a buff and also got the WP incentive back it might have tipped too far.
Look at scanners, a couple small tweaks to them alongside the WP made them become spammed. Similar results for AV could be decent balance.
Im just bummed we arent getting 24v24 matches. Every release I want 24v24... and im always sad. |

That said, I think the lack of any other announcements in patch notes is fine. They're giving us racial parity for dropsuits.
That's huge.
Can't be unhappy with that or the *hopefully* big improvement with TTK and damage mod nerf.
We can always want more. Unfortunately, we would also need all the time in the world to get more. I'm satisfied for the moment. |

So 1.8 will be interesting, first week or so everyone will be running the new gear to test it out then after that it will be tank spam as far as the eye can see. Nerf to damage mods was needed but this hurts AV allot more than anything else (also 10% damage mods on handheld weapons are bad but 30% on vehicle mounted are ok still?) AV nade nerf is killing LAV AV swarms struggle with LAV's as it is, proxies are useless unless you set up giant minefields of them, RE's only work if the driver is a moron, forgeguns do work quite well but the DM nerf will lower their usefulness some what.
My current AV suit costs 69k and it is pretty much useless (swarms + av nades) in 1.8 it will do even less damage thanks to the DM nerfs and will have 1 less AV nade. Or I can use a MLT railgun tank that costs 77k and can 2-3 shot most tanks without putting me at risk which do you think most of the community is going to use?
It takes 3 adv packed AV nades to take out an unfitted MLT lav... so nerf the amount we can carry so the only counter to a LAV is a tank and the only counter to the tank countering your lav is another tank, see where this is going?
No idea why I am botheing with this as many many pople pointed out these **** ups and yet nothing changed.

Regarding the Caldari Production Facility, I'm a firm believer that "withheld due to performance issues" actually means "withheld to create excitement in future update." I don't want to believe that CCP's developers are THAT bad at optimizing, would much rather belief it is some arbitrary marketing tactic.
Also something else that may possibly be arriving in the FanFest expansion is Conquest gamemode, where it strings together multiple maps on the same terrain (as many know, many of our maps are right next to each other in the redlines) to create a multistage battle similar to Battlefield's Rush gamemode.

The only time I see lag is in the basement of Gallente Research and it's barely noticeable anymore. I don't bother with PC but FW and pub matches are totally fine. I haven't been caught on terrain since 1.7 shipped. If you want to jump a curb then stop stacking plates. Even my Minmatar Logistics can hop over fences.
For the game to thrive it needs both content and fixes and they seem to be doing that. If they only shipped fixes the players would wander off from boredom to play some other buggy game that has something new to look at.

I don't even think AV vs Vehicle needs that much work. I think it's more about limiting the amount of vehicles in pubs. I don't think vehicles are that OP in PC.

If you'll remember this is one of the few things that CCP Rouge commented on shortly after his introduction. I'll try to dig up the post.
If I remember was essentially an acknowledgement that the combat potential of vehicles wass greatly increased in relation to the infantry ability to counter and he liked the idea of rewarding you for keeping vehicles at bay but not necessarily being able to kill them.

Played 10 games straight this weekend nothing like that happened. So it might be a heisenbug, which isn't that easy to find and fix. These things are even harder to debug as you can't really write unit/functional tests for them. |

We'll see. I've actually been more hopefully about the future of this game lately and I think that all will be revealed at Fanfest. If they fail to deliver there then I agree the game will continue to wallow in its current state. Yeah, most of the AV experience in 1.7 is an issue because it feels unrewarding. Damage WP will greatly help with that. Now they just need to do something about the militia swarmer blueprint. It's the most misleading fit for new players. Replace that thing with a heavy with an FG. Those can actually get through tanks, even at militia level, in contrast to swarmers. Militia swarmers literally do no damage against vehicles. For some racial flavor, you could give Minmatar an RE speed build instead. Seriously, try it. The tank can just stand there and take an endless amount of hits. |

What rumors? What crew? What direction? CCP rouge has yet to say three words publically to this forum. As far as anyone outside of the CPM and CCP payroll are concerned he is a non-entity and dust continues to wallow in mediocrity. We'll see. So tired of being loyally commited to this project but feeling let down by the development (the lack thereof honestly) over the past year.
I vacillate as much as the next addicted clone. We all rale at CCP about our love for the potential of this game but the reality keeps kicking me in the face.
I am trying not to sound like one more mewling whining poster amongst the 'masses' (all 34 of us). Perhaps the thing I have routinely asked for the most is not deliverable the way I believe it to be: communication.
I have advocated consistently for CCP to be more open, honest and forthcoming with information about development. Without result.
Maybe I am setting my expectations too high.

CCP, this is page 5 of this thread, and let me be the first person to actually say you did a good job.
3 new sentinels, 3 new basic heavy frames, 3 new commandos, 2 new scouts, and 2 new basic light frames. A total of 13 new dropsuits in one patch. Very nice indeed.
3 new weapons.
New equipment.
Bonuses that actually suit the class they are attached to.
Massive AV buff. (Anyone that says else wise is just looking for something to complain about.)
PC farming fixes.
Factional Warfare improvements.
No more ridiculous scans.
Reduced grenade spam.
Mass drivers and laser rifles will make a comeback, increasing diversity on the field.
TTK increase.
I swear this community is the biggest bunch of whiners I've ever seen in my life.

Again CCP fails to see the impact of nerfed damage mods on AV weapons. Swarm launchers will now be even worse and the forgegun will barely put a dent into dropships and tanks. This is not balance this is just ********. Yeah go ahead and nerf AV even more.

I'm not sure why people are so surprised their isn't some "new" information in the patch notes.
Normally very little changes between info released from a dev blog and the actual patch. If there was to be a change, we normally no about it.
The patch notes are just the finalized, set in stone changes that will be implemented. That's all they are.

Many more changes and it would have been to fast, any less and people would be left yearning for more. That said I still hope you will be able to release a similarly substantial roster in 1.9/1.1.1.
I had been hoping for 2 new maps which I've been hearing about since forever, that and PC 2.0 and hopefully some new stuff. New Stuff is good CCP keep it up.

WP's for vehicle damage will encourage me to do more tank hunting with my ADS. As it stands it's not that rewarding as they frequently run to their redline before I can kill them. Now I'll get rewarded for scaring them away from my infantry teammates and my blue dots will be glad to see me in the air. |

I don't understand how we can go 3 months with rampant vehicle spam, overpowered tanks, and underperforming AV, and CCP's response is to FURTHER nerf AV into the ground.
At the same time, there is absolutely no communication from their end on addressing the tank issues. CCP you absolutely baffle me sometimes. It doesn't even look like you play your own damn game.

I mean I think everyone's a little disappointed CCP because we see Patch notes like Christmas. I mean sure, your parents are probably going to drop some subtle hints on the big presents, and don't get me wrong we're SUPER hyped about the big presents (Literally, in the case of heavies) but then there's always that "Oooh I wonder what all those other boxes are" feeling.
Sadly, we've opened all of our presents before christmas. It doesn't make the patch any less decent or relevant it's just sort of like a "ITS GUNNA BE SO COO...oh, well yeah ok".
So, good stuff! This is how I'm hoping the next few patches:
1.9 - Fixs on any bugs/glitches created by 1.8 and a Re-balance of AV (Simply increase the cost of tanks and give MINOR buffs to Swarm launchers and AV grenades, and Plasma Cannon's efficacy against vehicles).
2.0 - HUGE and new content. Expecting new maps, guns, and actual content e.g. player market, PvE. If new actual content as in a new game mode or a new way to be competitive/play the game doesn't come in 2.0? I will seriously consider bothering anymore.
Good work on this patch CCP, it's finally coming together. Please do not let the important stuff slip, deal with AV/Tanks that is the biggest problem at the moment. Fix every and ALL bugs in 1.9 and make 2.0 about the CONTENT.

Also, CCP post notes asking for feedback, which they then completely ignore. So whatever they post as early notes, is actually cast in stone at that point. Why bother asking for feedback in the first place, is just more salt in the wound.

Kinda worried that all AV weapons are still armor-biased. Hoping that the Amarr Heavy Weapon will be AV capable, or the Plasma Cannon will get a bit of a buff, but the general update has me tentatively excited. Sick of seeing my Forgebuddies go 75 WP a match when they tried so hard to kill the unkillable and freed room for us to cap, so giving us back the damage points is nice.

Thanks for the notes and the new suits with the SP refund should make things interesting. New weapons and the weapons stat change will help with the OPness of some of the more hated weapons. Receiving WP for damaging vehicles will be nice. No surprises, but I didn't expect any. The LR buff is sweet and I look forward to seeing it in action. Thanks again for the work you all put into improving performance and for the changes in how damages are modified by skills, lot of people don't like it but I think it is a step in the right direction in giving each suit and weapon a unique feel.
Does any damage to a vehicle give WP or is percentage based? Does vehicle to vehicle damage give WP or is it damage from infantry only? CCP, do you think that the addition of WP for damage will cause more vehicles to be destroyed? (Not trolling, seriously asking)
I would like to see damage to vehicles be only given to infantry and not to mercs in a vehicle to help prevent boosting. I am kind of worried that vehicles will take pop shots and run so they can come back and do it again, I think infantry will do the same just to farm WP. Is there a cool down on WP or a cap on how many times a merc can receive WP from damaging the same vehicle before it is destroyed? I really don't want to see one merc standing on a hive and farming WP with a militia SW and have no intention of destroying a vehicle.

so laser rifle seems to have base range extended to 110, the damage increases from 17 to 18.7 as tiers go up, feedback leveled to 175, but heat also leveled to 21.
is it just me or does that 17->18.7 not make up for the heat cost change (18.7 -> 21) reducing the overall fire time at higher heat values, and also losing damage mods effectiveness, and laser damage profile, and no proficiency for armor....

Glad some things have been re-balanced, but I still don't see any reason to come back to the game. I hate trying to grind for isk to pvp in good equipment, in ****** equipment, in stacked pvp matches.
- No PvE to grind up equipment for pvp - Can't trade isk with my EVE player - Still no player market/trading/industry - No additional planet types - No killmails - Still no lowsec/0.0/wormhole gameplay (i.e. FW only)
I could go on, but basically this feels like a balance patch, and things missing from the game that were promised/hyped years ago are still missing. I don't care to come back and play pvp matches in militia gear because I can't afford anything decent (even though I can finally, only through passive SP, use some of it). And since it's still all FW only, my EVE alt can't play in any of it either.
See you in 1.9... maybe. |

And those of you saying REs are the hard counter to tanks. They're actually really difficult to get a kill with, cloak or not. It's easy getting behind a tank with a 10.38 m/s minnie scout.
It's actually a little fiddly managing to plant 3 REs on the back, even without infantry fire in your direction. Unless the tank is completely static, there's a stupid glitch where you get bumped away from it when it moves (forward or back, I don't know). Most decent tankers, MLT noobies included, don't stay still.
Even with 3 well-placed REs, and successful detonation, there is no guarantee of a kill. Yes, hardeners are not active. If anything, I've had less success with RE tank kills in the last few months. Sometimes they pop, other times, nope.
Successful HAV kills with REs are hard to pull off, and personally I've died in the attempt far more often than successful tank kills. Perhaps I'm doing it a bit wrong, I don't know, but it is not a hard counter. |

So the improvements to FW were making gallente and minmatar be on the defending side yep that'll fix FW...
How about fixing the fact that the guy who AFKs gets the same LP and standings as the guy who gets 30+ kills or 2500+ WP. How about fixing the fact that new players just select all 4 factions because they don't know they can pick a specific one. How about incentivizing playing for only one faction by adding an LP multiplier for consecutive matches for the same faction.

We already have gimped HP values compared to armor, an unnecessary penalty, the inability to fit viable low slot modules other than cpu/pg upgrades because extenders take too much, and have to deal with dealing less damage than easy mode armor tanking gallants. come on.

The vehicle users got a respec when their tree got changed dramatically. In fact one could argue that the dropsuit changes have a much bigger impact than those from vehicles. The changes are down right pervasive, effecting every single role. Yet the Developers of this game continue to ignore their customer base.

MS doesn't explain details for Xbox games, equipment and Xbox Live. It is all buried in the Entertainment division. No details means they don't have to share the losses with their competition.
We don't even know the reason for Dust to exist. Was it for fun? To introduce more people, with cash, to play EVE Online or to build a stand alone for profit game? Maybe the developers wanted to build a console game, who knows?

Since you fail at deductive reasoning I'll spell it out for you
You'll find that the loss is from the assets side, specifically in R&D, which took a hit between 2012 and 2013. You'll find that on page 5. Without that, CCP had a positive year, 10 million more revenue in 2013 compared to 2012.
Om page 22, you'll find CCP taking a ~20 million "derecognition" loss, which means "that a portion of these assets would likely not have future economic benefits" Which basically means CCP no longer regards this code as an asset and writes it off as a loss.
Now I realize that CCP has other R&D projects, but considering the time frame and that no other products are really "losing money" the writing on the wall is quite clear; you just have to LOOK

patch notes are pretty trash ... nothing special or new ... & since they never lowered the cpu/pg on damage mods after nerfing them into the ground ... it only makes sense to use advanced dam mods .... because theyre only 1% less damage than complex & u save a bunch of cpu/pg in other words ... they technically nerfed AV by reducing the grenade count. They buffed tanks by making them be able to aim much higher. Therefor this patch will be worse then 1.7. Unless they allow the swarms to deal their full dmg. The gunlogi's resistance to swarms is somewhere like 60%. The madrugar's resistance is somewhere around 40%. That is insane when you hit your hardeners. So that makes the resistance to swarms while hardeners are on to be somewhere around 90%. I don't mind hardeners having a damage reduction of 40% while hardeners are active . but just remove the base resistance. Otherwise tanks will be once again, the FOTM.

Already did this for the 1m clone kills event last weekend. Gal L5 scout with 2x complex range amplifiers is amazing.

Light weapon never was mandatory? You can fit a suit with just sidearms. Possibly just one sidearm, haven't tested for sure.
So I'm assuming you mean you're no longer required to fit *a* weapon?

The Minmatar Heavy has laser resist for shield and hybrid resist for armor. If I switch from Amarr Heavy the combat rifle will still be a killer. No heavy suit has resist for three weapon types. Not a surprise but until I know how much of a monster the Combat rifles is or, hopefully, is not then spending SP on any heavy suit is not a good idea.
CCP not liking me is a good thing. I cannot stand them nor their Shanghai subset.

The Skill section of Character is the bubble friendly User Interface to fill out the skill tree. You can also do it one more level in under the character info section.
What you never saw/experienced/knew about was the Market Place had a section at the bottom that listed all the Skills. This was dropped with the Bubble UI appearance. Now it is back.
What can do is, while you are in the Market, you will have a menu item where you can decide to bump your skills up inside the Market. Say you were looking at the ADV super killer weaponize module. You cannot buy one though because you only have the required Skill at level 1. Oh, the pain! So, stay in the Market but go to the main level menu. There you will find the Skills selection and you can go down and buy the Skill Book for the skill and/or increase the Skill directly in that menu. Then go back to the item you wanted to buy and just do it! Spend that ISK/AUR.

Well the way I see it, no slots are mandatory...so I assume that means you no longer are required to equip a weapon. But I guess time will tell.

Found this some what disturbing when I read your post. Then I went in and looked at the parts you pointed out.
There are several problems in your reasoning.
First the "derecognition loss" paragraph on page 22 that you quote from says nothing specifically about Dust 514. Your assumption is that this report references Dust 514 in that "portion of these assets would likely not have future economic benefits." that by no means spells out that CCP has ditched Dust.
Secondly, Unless you have some other knowledge as to the nature of what is being worked on in ALL of the R&D department it could have been some other project or element of a project that is no longer viable, desirable, or profitable. You acknowledged you know there are other R&D projects, but say those cant possibly be loosing money. It very well could have been another project we have heard nothing about they decided to ditch because of less than desirable projected consumer base.
The problem is we just don't have enough specific information. Hell, they could have ditched another project to ensure that Dust gets more attention/funding. While I am concerned because I love this game (despite its problems), I would hardly say that "the writing is on the wall." |

I haven't read through this entire thread so this might have been brought up already, but let's talk about Jihad Jeeps and vehicle warpoint damage.
Have the devs tested how many WP you get if you instablap a tank with a Jihad Jeep?
If it's something significant like 50 WP per 1000 vehicle damage, plus the WP from the vehicle itself, you could be talking 500 WP per JJ kill depending on how much armor/shields the tank has. This would give a huge incentives for JJs to roam around permanently in some games. |

I will try to be constructive:
1) TTK - love it, very much prefer the longer fights.... bored of my prof 5 HMG killing anything in less than a sec anyway.
2) AV buff - even with a prof 5 forge AV is too weak now against the tank spam. I agreed with the splash damage nerf (if you need splash you suck with forge anyway!) - the direct damage nerf is too much though. With the massive base damage nerf in 1.7 and now the the 50% reduction in complex mods (which were a forgers last life line) damage it's beyond a joke. Also losing another AV nade, although they sucked anyway adds insult to injury.
Since 1.7 i have felt that in every game i have had to forge against tanks to support the team even if i didnGÇÖt plan too... i enjoy it but now i'm well fed up and bored but there is no way to avoid having to run AV. Also my loadouts cost more than the tanks but i know the cost of tanks has been widly discussed so i won't go over...!
That said i am amazed that this was not addressed in the patch notes (apologies if im wrong). Seems crazy to adjust so much infantry when the infantry game is barley relevant anymore with so many tanks. CCP - YOU WILL END this game if you do not address AV, everyone (even dedicated maxed forgers like me have had enough!).

Because its not like we don't play the game everyday to see that these things need to be added and fixed, like..... where are the proto tankers that are happy to see tht proto AV grenades have been lowered from 3 to 2. It might be cos the repping glow was distracting, but personally I found them reassuring. Even a small rep icon indicator in the corner is enough. Sometimes we dedicated logies deserve some recognition in the battlefield. |

Not sure how I feel about a so-so buff to a single equipment set that has been nerfed in exchange for nerfing millions-worth of SP/ISK investments into various equipment types.
Leaning towards 'it's not my favorite thing' /:
Overall I feel like the logi class has been significantly reshuffled and I'm concerned about how this will affect the other millions of SP/ISK I've sunk into crafting my ideal logi... I mean, suppose I take to the Minmatar logi suit (I like those reps more than I like these links that for all of their expanded spawns that can still just be destroyed in an instant and spotted from across the map by a keen eye), or decide that running logistics isn't something I want to do now given these new parameters (that 1/hp per second to armor was originally the reason I started to consider running logi) and aspire towards a Caldari assault or even heavy fit? The couple million SP I've sunk into armor becomes dead weight, the PG upgrades aren't necessarily as important, and maybe I don't want to use droplinks at the level I have been. Not to mention what's been done with the weapons....
So, I'm assuming I'm not the first to ask, but why not a full respec? Or at least one expanded toward dropsuit upgrades? Significant things are being done, and I don't mean to say that it's going to be horrible or anything, in fact it seems to balance a little better, but for someone like me who has spent most of their SP skilling into things with one particular suit in mind, then over half of those things are significantly altered and that suit itself is fundamentally readjusted, refunding only the suit in terms of SP only gets me so far... |

Agreed, am waiting for Destiny Beta to be released myself and have the game pre-ordered. Getting tired of the way things are going here. Seems CCP sides with the whiners and the rest of us struggling and trying to level the hard way by grinding matches get screwed. I guess a crying tanker gets heard faster than the thousands of footmen out there. |

Tanks are not overpowered. AV is fine at the moment. The problem is not with individual tanks. Two dedicated AV can handle almost any tank in the game right now.
What is a problem is when foot soldiers follow the tank or the tanker gets out of the tank to gun you down. More importantly the absolute problem with tanks is when more than 3 get into play and a rail gun tank locks the other side down from bringing in tanks.
Right now no changes need to be done to tanks. |

Found this some what disturbing when I read your post. Then I went in and looked at the parts you pointed out. There are several problems in your reasoning. First the "derecognition loss" paragraph on page 22 that you quote from says nothing specifically about Dust 514. Your assumption is that this report references Dust 514 in that "portion of these assets would likely not have future economic benefits." that by no means spells out that CCP has ditched Dust. Secondly, Unless you have some other knowledge as to the nature of what is being worked on in ALL of the R&D department it could have been some other project or element of a project that is no longer viable, desirable, or profitable. You acknowledged you know there are other R&D projects, but say those cant possibly be loosing money. It very well could have been another project we have heard nothing about they decided to ditch because of less than desirable projected consumer base. The problem is we just don't have enough specific information. Hell, they could have ditched another project to ensure that Dust gets more attention/funding. While I am concerned because I love this game (despite its problems), I would hardly say that "the writing is on the wall."
CCP has not ditched dust and they likely won't. I am not eluding to that. I am saying that CCP no longer considers dust a "large money maker" and are writing it off their books so they don't have to claim it on taxes (which is smart). I know that CCP has multiple things going on in their R&D department, but the timelines given are too convenient to discount DUST as being part of the derecognition loss. The 20 million is very likely multiple different side projects, rather than a single large loss.
Most importantly, a code has to be capitalized on (code that goes from being worked on, to code that is finished product) in order to be derecognized. What projects would that include. EVE, DUST, Valkyrie. Well EVE is making plenty of money and Valkyrie is a huge hit, considered a "game changer" and already confirmed for PS4 AND PC. Dust however, seems to be the redheaded stepchild.
Remember this "loss" is "future gains" not current. Don't get me wrong, dust is making CCP money, just not as much as they had "projected"; which is why I state they need to treat their customers better.

TTK is the real big plus in my book, also vehicle WP damage means that tankers will not hog all the WP anymore. No matter how many kills they get, I just need to do a lot more damage and Orbital strike them haha, If only I get use Orbital strikes for once lol

If the tanker has ANY skill they just drive strait out of the OB. The best way to OB a tank is to go RDV hunting. Save your OB until the last third of the match. Then the guy who sucks at infantry and is pissed that his team is losing will call in his OP tank cause he thinks there wont be enough time for it to get destroyed before the end of the match. Zoom in the OB and watch your killfeed light up. LOL

Generally seems like improvements. Please do not compromise on the high barriers-to-entry that even us regular players had to overcome. The range reduction on Turrets and quantity reduction on Grenades are my two biggest complaints.
I am getting stuck on clipping planes, which has also been commented about in the appropriate location.

When the changes to 1.8 were announced I decided not to play again. It looked terrible. I play gallente and AR looked totally screwed. Anyway I decided to give it a try and now I can say it is great improvement. The game play is really improved. The cloak is not op. I don't use it as I am logi, but it it is a team play game. Just get in your squad a scout , gal logi with scanner, tank. I killed many cloaked scouts with my proto scanner. Many times they also killed me. I really thing 1.8 is a step forward. still needs to be fixed: terrain sticking while running. Small stones or edges are blocking the movement. FPS is bad. The game needs to be more fluid and the movement a bit more free. Sometimes with the commando I can't jump over a small platform or rock. |

The nerfs and equipment changes are killing us. AV needs to be good enough to take on vehicles! If you run any type of vehicle be good enough to get out of or control the situation. Spawn in time is ridiculous. Smart deploy is a JOKE! LAG, BUGS, GAME FREEZE, and DC are friggin HORRIBLE!!!!! What a joke. WTF is the problem? Many people are getting fed up with this game. Can't you just leave s h i t alone let people skill up to get as powerful as they need and stop nerfing us into the ground?

That seems like the necessary coerce of action here. this is the first time i have ever posted anything like this, so i have been sitting down and playing thee game since week 1 of closed beta, and before every one started b!tching about how the assault rifle is to strong or tanks have to much hp we were able get more glitch fixes and game content added. By any chances, are you a vehicle pilot?
