This should go part way towards helping the AV crowd. I think vehicle prices should be increased to make loss painful and reduce vehicle spam. About Assault Dropship level pricing should do it and maybe even higher for HAVs. Then the role of infantry based AV is to force vehicles to retreat and take the pressure off the infantry while they get busy capturing or killing other infantry. Now that infantry based AV gets their WP it'll make the role more attractive.
I've said it before but CCP will not talk about price changes until after the fact to avoid stockpiling.

A bit underwhelming, after 3 1/2 months none of the issues introduced with 1.7 were addressed I am sure we are going to have some fun with the new toys but I am sure the patch will introduce stuff that's OP/broken. And I guess you won't have time until after Fanfest to address those either

i would not be surprised if CCP dose a stelth nurf for tank mods but i dont mind not carrying to many av grenades it gives me more of a goal to try and solo a tank just like this build and i did it in this build so why not the next im looking forward to the challenge

I can't wait to have racial parity behind us, I'm happy all this has FINALLY made it in but after such a long wait, it's pretty underwhelming.
Nerfing damage mods and AV by making its proficiency only add to armor damage was short sighted at best, and I don't expect a fix until the fanfest build at least.

WP for AV damage may be the AV buff needed. AV is funny because if you get a critical mass of it, you can tear tanks a part. Get 5 forgers and they can just insta pop every tank that comes near the objective. (Still wont help ambush much).
So incentivising AV may push the AV usage to critical mass where AV becomes easy-ish. Its a good first pass. Introduce this then re-assess balanace after. If AV got a buff and also got the WP incentive back it might have tipped too far.
Look at scanners, a couple small tweaks to them alongside the WP made them become spammed. Similar results for AV could be decent balance.
Im just bummed we arent getting 24v24 matches. Every release I want 24v24... and im always sad. |

They absolutely wouldn't announce price changes before they arrive unless they are going down, which was the case in 1.7 and even 1.8 in the case of commandos. But if prices are going up then no chance they'd say anything.

That said, I think the lack of any other announcements in patch notes is fine. They're giving us racial parity for dropsuits.
That's huge.
Can't be unhappy with that or the *hopefully* big improvement with TTK and damage mod nerf.
We can always want more. Unfortunately, we would also need all the time in the world to get more. I'm satisfied for the moment. |

So 1.8 will be interesting, first week or so everyone will be running the new gear to test it out then after that it will be tank spam as far as the eye can see. Nerf to damage mods was needed but this hurts AV allot more than anything else (also 10% damage mods on handheld weapons are bad but 30% on vehicle mounted are ok still?) AV nade nerf is killing LAV AV swarms struggle with LAV's as it is, proxies are useless unless you set up giant minefields of them, RE's only work if the driver is a moron, forgeguns do work quite well but the DM nerf will lower their usefulness some what.
My current AV suit costs 69k and it is pretty much useless (swarms + av nades) in 1.8 it will do even less damage thanks to the DM nerfs and will have 1 less AV nade. Or I can use a MLT railgun tank that costs 77k and can 2-3 shot most tanks without putting me at risk which do you think most of the community is going to use?
It takes 3 adv packed AV nades to take out an unfitted MLT lav... so nerf the amount we can carry so the only counter to a LAV is a tank and the only counter to the tank countering your lav is another tank, see where this is going?
No idea why I am botheing with this as many many pople pointed out these **** ups and yet nothing changed.

So does this confirm that the Shotgun is losing the increase of RoF proficiency skill? I haven't seen any Dev replies to suggest otherwise.
Also, please verify if CCP fixed the sneaky tanks not showing up in TACNET for 1.8.
