My biggest problem is that while you can try and improve your average accuracy to about 70% with M/KB in its current (very flawed) state, Auto Aim always ensures about 80-90%.
Before AA it was 70% vs 60% on average.
The numbers, as always, taken out of my ass. |

The only FPS PC has are console ports thanks to cawadoody and its ilk.
As we had to move because your sub-par console games invaded our market, now its time YOU-¦ve gotta move because we-¦re here to play a good game for a change. And as your control scheme has dominated our games, now ours has every right to be here.
Stop being that f-¦cking kid that refuses to share his f-¦cking birthday cake. |

Yeah funny getting that from a 20something.

Yeah, may be. The KB/M is not. |

Dunk Mujunk wrote: Because mouse input isn't raw. If it was, mouse users would dominate. Mouse users are basing their ideal input off of games with no restrictions. If the KB/M is to be left in, it should stay right around where it is now. If you want unrestricted mouse input, there are many games available on PC to cater to your needs. I would imagine from this point most new players joining Dust will be using DS3's, so in the interest of the health of Dust, it is better to lose the smaller amount of KB/M users than it is to lose the larger amount of DS3 users.
So for the interest of the health of the community, this which shall be put to death by fire!
Arent you a fast one to sacrifice?
I love how every single argument in the "debate" was self-proclaimed representation of the majority. |

And yeah, DS3 is the majority. So I'm not sure what point you are trying to make. You may want to remove the quotations from around debate on your post. I've been fairly level headed in my posts on this thread, as have many KB/M users. I'd like to continue the debate, but it seems you are the one who wants to have a "debate". As far as i'm concerned you want nothing but raw input. If that's not the case please enlighten me in a civilized manner. Raw input? God forbid, that would imply no deadzone and shaking all over the place. A non-sh!tty control scheme is what I want.
And you seem to mistake this thread for "Should KB/M Users be phased out?". If you want a civil discussion about phasing out players, have it in there. |

Are you focken serious m8? How long do you think this debate goes on?
Good for you to be calm about this only joining in the debate today. At about 6th mentally challenged individual sh!tting in MY cornflakes a day because they feel like jumping a bandwagon I start to lose my temper. Especially when I get baited for ad hominem and then called out for it by a twink.
Dunk Mujunk wrote: Beeeees, it is not that I want no KB/M, it's that I don't think KB/M users would be satisfied with a control scheme until it was far superior to the DS3, not because KB/M users are @ssholes, but because there is an expected way a KB/M operates, and in my opinion this cannot be reached without putting the DS3 at a disadvantage, and seeing as how this is a PS3 game, that would not be a prudent move by CCP.
In Chromo and now still top players are supposedly DS3 users, your point doesnt stand an inch. The DS3 got aimbot level auto aim right now, so there IS a way of not putting DS3 at a disadvantage, it already exists.

The others in your camp seem a bit.......special........but I would like to know what exactly you are looking for from your KB/M. Simple. Positive and negative acceleration has to go. I dont need anything more, I want a 5 degree movement from my elbow to translate to roughly the same result every time I move my mouse.
I realize that speed caps were a must (before aimbot), but to make me turn slower the faster I move my mouse to the point I do not turn at all is grade A bullshit. |

Dunk Mujunk wrote:Currently, long range shooting can be a bit tricky with the DS3 (sniping is the best example). At long ranges the DS3s movement is not very fine at all, and lining up a head shot with said sniper rifle requires a trial and error of moving cross hairs far away from the targets head, then moving back towards the head, hoping that when you stop you land right on it, because moving the crosshair just an eight of a centimeter is nearly impossible with the DS3. Except fine movement is completely ****** with the mouse right now and tracking is near impossible because your mouse constantly accelerates. Tracking with the DS3 is actually easier right now. Than with a mouse, contemplate a second on that. Also let me tell you something about sniping. There are 2 ways of taking aim - tracking and leading. Before Uprising, mouse was better at tracking, DS3 at leading. After Uprising DS3 became good at both and mouse ate a ****.
Strafing is also better on the KB/M, and if it were to pass that the mouse and DS3 aimed exactly the same, the KB/M would get a big advantage due to the ability to strafe left and right far more efficiently, while still maintaining aim on target. Many posts in this thread have been convoluted, and DS3 users are justifiably frightened at what the KB/M could possibly become.[/quote] The mouse could not ever become more than what it was in Chromo. It was unconventional and took practice but it was perfect. It literally could not become better than that, and that stage already passed. There is one thing that separates DS3 and KB/M the most, and its AA. There will never be AA on KB/M. Those fears are not justified, and are a product of misinformation and ignorance. |

I personally would like AA to be removed, but at the end of the day, when I picture KB/M, I picture all the FPS games I've played on PC, and that is what scares me, and lessens my support of KB/M. If a happy medium could ever be found, I would have no problems.
We are depending on this balance to come from CCP though, and that should be the scariest part for both sides. You talking about few Unreal mouse users...that have incredible reflexes and tactical awareness, with inhuman accuracy. That doesn't means that EVERY mouse user is like that. When i get in the Zone with the mouse, it looks like i using every single hack you can think of... but i have 10 years of experience, and a lot Pro Competitive gaming when i was younger. Just because some people can do that, doesn't means that everyone can do it too. This. Players that drop it hard are already good at shooters. People who dont arent. Why shouldnt my skill translate into this game, what does make it so special? It isnt for controller users, they are familiar with playing shooters with controller. |
