"Could care less" Couldn't care less* Could care less means you have some ounce of "care" for whatever you're speaking about, and judging by the context of the rest of the post, you don't have an ounce of care. Honestly, I don't see a corp VS. corp going on here. I see Charlotte, who gets a bit hot-headed, and happens to be against D-Uni, but I know that Fox Gaden nor myself are opposed to D-Uni. Note that the Learning Coalition NEVER said "Better than D-Uni". All we said was "An alternative to D-Uni". Unlike D-Uni, we pull many instructors from outside the Coalition. And there's nothing wrong with using inside instructors, nothing at all. In fact, it has a couple advantages. But also taking from outside has ITS advantages, such as getting more knowledge from further out, instead of using the same person's tactics, and teaching the same thing over and over. That's the only difference. We use more outside materials, but sometimes that tends to make us iffy. If you use more inside people, they have a fair amount of time and experience to learn how to teach. Sometimes I literally just mail someone who I saw had some good tactics/knowledge and asked them if they want to teach. In fact, I'm a terrible teacher myself. I have terrible ADHD, and I'm super laid back (Assuming I don't get too angry), so everything with me usually boils down to laughter, stupidity, and/or anger. Seriously, I get pissed. Especially at teh proto-stompers. >:| So yea. As a wise man (child) once said: http://imgur.com/c7NJRa2?tagsHugs? Bring it in, Xer0z. You get a hug. Naedus? Anyone? Ok. Either way, I propose a truce. We accept our differences, and all haterz can just watch that gif on replay.
Gotta get a few facts strait. One, yeah I'm bad at this forum thing. Couldn't care less or could care less...really? You know what I meant. lol.
You are incorrect about who we get to do our lectures. Although we do not have many Open Lectures advertised about guest speakers. We have many people come in from other corps and provide their experience in the many different forms. I personally open up every lecture I do to gather new ideas or brainstorm about theories during my Q&As. A lot of people have their alts within our corporation so they can have access to our forums and our players in order to help them when needed or asked.
There may be a lot of information that is lost about D-Uni because we don't publicly advertise every thing we do. That is something we could work on ourselves. We have focused on core fundamentals, developing a solid foundation for our organization to be able to continue on. So when leadership steps down a new person can take up the mantle without too harsh of a transition. This has been my personal goal. I don't plan on staying in the Uni forever. The corp it self is meant for people to move on once they gain a basic understanding of the game.
As far as Fox is concerned, the funny thing is that I never had anything against him at all. I actually thought while in the Uni me and him had a great understanding & working relationship. Of course I was mistaken, when he was manipulated by some scrub to think I was out to get him and he went crazy. I feel bad for him in a way. He never even took the time, not even once to ask me about it. It could have all been resolved with a single chat and some laughs shared. He did however not go that route and instead caused a lot of unnecessary drama. Which is why I see him as the joke he is now. That and he has taken a lot of ideas from other people and tried passing them off as his own. It just shows that he never deserved his director role in our organization in the first place.
Char char. lol who is he again? Most of his junk I don't even read. He is far from credible in my eyes. Just another worthless troll looking for attention.
And, Bojo's we tried to work with you guys since the beginning. When PC first dropped you guys were supposed to be our partners and do training matches with us, but you just never showed. Then we tried to continue to keep in contact, but it seemed your organization had fallen off the map. When we had picked up our own planet we tried again to contact Bojo's with no communication in return. I am not sure what happened at that point because I assigned another director to handle that.
As for our districts, I personally was the one who acquired 4/5, A former director acquired the other. All through diplomacy and trade. It took well over a month of deliberation and dealing with reluctant leadership, but we managed to create a place where we could bring outside organizations in to help train our membership in competitive contest. However management of those districts was a nightmare. We spent more time dealing with diplomatic relations then focusing on our fundamental goals. After a few months and one director stepping down due to the stress of dealing with them, we decided they were not worth the effort. Nothing a clone pack on a supporting corp's district couldn't solve.
Honestly, I have no issues with the LC. Like Eve University, there are many other organizations that do the same thing. We in Dust University are just focused on the long term goals of our community. We are trying to build something that will last not just focusing on the irrelevant "now."
Edit: This will be my last post about this. I have better things to do with my time. And, dealing with stuff like this is not in my D-Uni job description.

I thought people might want to know how the training matches went this weekend.
No Proto match with SVER True Blood:
There was some early confusion, but my Director of Diplomacy got me into a squad with Roman837 and we sorted it out. After further consultation with Cpl bloodsone, who is in charge of training at SVER, we agreed to make it a No Proto match to train their newer recruits.
Unfortunately we were only able to get together 6 students from the Learning Coalition at the time of the battle. So we ended up with a team of 12, consisting of 6 students, 3 or 4 high ranked PC vets, and the rest being somewhere between those extremes. I was FC, despite it being my first PC battle. We had 1 tanker from Robing The Hood.
SVER True Blood had a full team of 16, made up of 4 PC vets (as agreed) and the rest being new recruits. Their FC was a PC vet, but this was his first time as FC. They had a new tanker who only had 3 million skill points, but after seeing our RTH tank, Cpl bloodsone brought a tank in as well.
With a 4 person advantage, SVER was able to capture 4 of the 5 objectives quickly, but the Learning Coalition was able to slowly push them back, gaining 2, and then 3 objectives. Unfortunately we did not have the man power to hold all 3 objectives and were reduced to two again.
My most memorable moment was when I ran over a low rise and almost tripped over a SVER tank that I was not expecting to find there. I actually had to back up to avoid the splash damage from my swarms. I ended up getting three +75 assists in the match. Due to our tankerGÇÖs skill and our infantry reacting quickly to naturalize Forge Gunners, I think we only lost a single tank.
Our primary goal of reducing SVER to below 100 clones to prevent an automatic second attack was achieved fairly early in the match. Although SVER maintained their lead throughout, we pushed hard right to the end. It was a good game, and should have provided good experience to both SVERGÇÖs new recruits and our students. It was also good practice for noob FCGÇÖs on both sides.
Meta 2 match with Deadly Blue Dots:
Deadly Blue Dots were looking for a district to attack, and did not know who Immortal Guides were, so they attacked us. Our Director of Diplomacy talked to Echo 1991 and asked if he would like to make it a training match, because if it was a serious attempt to take the district we would have to ask DJINN Kuho to provide 15 of his finest solders to defend us, as he did when Red Star attacked. By the time Echo 1991 contacted me, he seemed quite enthusiastic about making it a training match. So we agreed to make it Militia or Basic Weapons and Suits. We decided not to put restrictions on modules or equipment as the Basic suits themselves restricted how much your could equip.
Unfortunately the time was bad for Learning Coalition and we only managed to scrape together 3 or 4 students. I had to go out and look for people to fill my team. I checked with Onslaught, but they were concerned that Deadly Blue Dots were in their Alliance, so I checked with Echo 1991 again, and he said he was ok with us picking up people from his Alliance as long as they respected the gear restrictions. At one point Echo 1991 and I were recruiting out of the same channel. Ten minutes before the match was to begin I only had 6 people from Learning Coalition lined up. Half students, half instructors. So I ended up filling the last 10 slots with Molon Lobe and a few friends from other Corps.
Unfortunately, even with the Meta 2 restrictions, this unbalanced the teams. Deadly Blue Dots ended up with mostly their own member, with only 1 or 2 ringers, and I think they may have been lacking a full team, as we had against SVER the previous night. We ended up taking 4 objectives early in the match and mostly held them till the end. Deadly Blue Dots did not give up though, and were pushing objectives throughout. But with so many Molon Lobe on our team, and them being down a few people, the odds were heavily unbalanced in our favor.
Out of the few students we had in the fight, one was Squad Leading in a PC battle in his first week in DUST. One of his squad mentioned that he had an Orbital available and it donned on us that we had not yet told him how to do that. Another of our students was operating a tank, which inspired Charlotte OGÇÖDell to run a tank too, to give him some pointers, much to the dismay of the Deadly Blue Dots I am sure. Charlotte had stuck to ground pounding during the SVER fight.
The most amusing moment for me was when we were first forming the team, hearing an exclamation of surprise as someone realized they were on the same team as Charlotte OGÇÖDell.
Wrap up:
All in all these fights were good learning experiences for me, for my students, and for those that needed PC practice on the opposing teams. The only thing I am not happy about is that we were not able to field more students, but this was not really a surprise to me.
I only started recruiting students to Immortal Guides and to the Learning Coalition two and a half months ago. My initial goal was to recruit enough students so that there would normally be enough on at any one time to fill a squad. When I hit that mark I noticed my member retention improved considerably. In the early days a lot of students I invited only stuck round for a few hours before leaving again, but now most of our new members stay.
However, enough to make a squad is not enough to fill a PC team, so I still have a lot of recruiting to do. We only had our first graduation from Immortal Guides a few weeks ago, and have only had a few students move on to BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades for advanced studies. So, until we recruit more students, we will probably be focussing on individual skill training in the controlled environment of a Learning Coalition PC match, such as Dropship flight schools. We are also open to hosting community events.

^^^ Flawless advertising right there. +1.
The time is about 8:00 PM EST. Pretty early for people in the UK. Right now, we're working on time, but we're thinking of just returning the districts. So far, they're more trouble than useful, because we're constantly being attacked, the times are all sorts of messed up, and 99% of the time, no one mails me about joining the training match, even though there's constant chatter about it in the chat channel.
People that mailed me in time: ninja draco.
Yup. I'm looking for people right now that can get on at the correct time to manage the teams, so we can get times under control, and people will actually use the thing. :)

What Char said, but I'd just like to expand on that.
Don't JUST send them towards the Learning Coalition, take them under your wing! Invite them to squad, tell them how to set up comms, and tell them anything they want to know. While the Learning Coalition CAN teach all teh newbies evar, it's much more help you us, to you, and to the general DUST community if you give them a bit of knowledge for their brain-heads. Or head-brains? Either way, the Learning Coalition supports any form of teaching, whether it be by directing the newbies to us, or teaching them yourself. Seriously guys, we love you. :D

Last night the Learning Coalition hosted a Dropship flight practice, for new pilots to get some flight time in and improve their flying skills before they have to face a battle environment. Unfortunately it was a bad time for our Flight Instructors, and neither of them were able to make it, but at least we had plenty of time to practice. We will be adjusting the timers to insure that at lease one Flight Instructor can make it for future sessions.
This time we finally got our act together and no one hacked any of the objectives. This gave us 1 hour and 15 minutes of uninterrupted flight time.
One of my students was flying a Dropship in a PC district within hours of creating his first DUST character. Hopefully that will be a better GÇ£welcome to DUSTGÇ¥ experience than a lot of us had.
I made good use of the flight time myself, being a fairly noobish pilot. I landed on roof tops, I landed on the rings of the orbital artillery, I attempted to fly up streets, I flew under catwalks, and I flew under pipes. Then I started sprinting from objective D to objective E and back, landing each time, to simulate hot insertions and pickups.
I lost 5 Dropships; died 3 times; and rolled my Dropship over while attempting to fly under a catwalk, squishing my Director of Diplomacy who apparently was attempting to jump on top of my Dropship. I also had to recall my Dropship close to 20 times due to it bing on itGÇÖs side, on its roof, standing on its nose propped against a wall, etc.
This Flight practice event was open to anyone in Learning Coalition chat. There was still openings available, so we could have taken more people in, had their been more interest.

At 5:00 UTC, most people are getting off work, and at 12:00 EST, I have no idea. I just know that at this time, it's infinitely more populated. The times are being changed to this, also because I can actually attend then, and because there'll be more students to fill the teams. Our next battle will be sometime tomorrow, because I need to change the timers first.

I was a huge derp earlier this morning and got the times all sorts of wrong. For some reason, I guess I was tired, I had forgotten it was a 24-hour clock, so when I was changing the timers on both districts (Think about that, BOTH DISTRICTS), I put it at about 5:00 AM UTC instead of 5:00 PM UTC. Yea... It's about midnight in my timezone, which is the opposite direction of progress.
So instead of the battle happening tomorrow like I planned, it'll probably be held on Friday, which is still good because I have a bit more free time on Fridays.
For those who forgot or just plain didn't hear, the timers are being changed to 12:00 EST / 5:00 PM UTC. Of course, because it's for an hour, call it 12-1 / 5-6. At this time, the channel is most active. Also, the current person overseeing PC actually has a real life (Awesome, right? A dust bunny, having a life? Incredible!), and I have much less of a life, it gives me more time to oversee these battles. Something which I have more time to do. And I think that's it. Just letting everyone know how I derped bad. :D

Times for both districts have now been changed to 12:00 PM EST / 5:00 PM UTC.
When both districts are unlocked, I hop in and kick off a battle.
All participants are required to have comms on. No mic is required, but you must be able to hear everyone else.
Quick look at the rules: -No Killing Anyone. Not unless you're in the live-fire exercises. Any other kills will result in a kick from the match (With 1 warning). -No hacking Null Cannons. Installations and Vehicles are free to be hacked, but objectives can only be hacked by the defender at the end of the match*. Turrets should remain neutral and/or destroyed by one of the tankers/pilots on the map. This is to prevent anyone from losing a vehicle/clone. -No Mic Required, Just Smiles. As long as you have comms turned on in the correct channel, you're good to go. People with comms turned on will be picked before people without, so make sure you have them on!
That's basically it. All of these rules will be reviewed in the War Room before the battle, while teams are being set up.
*In the next match to come, the defender will be Immortal Guides.
