Some may have heard of D-Uni; a large school that teaches you how to play Dust 514. This may be for some newberriest, but it is not for all. Specifically, those who want a higher education in the Art of War. Think of us as a nonprofit private school that gives you free money to persue your studies.
How It Works:
Join this chat channel: Learning Coalition Then speak up. Tell us what you want.
First we will assess how new you are and go from there. We can teach you everything you need to know fr setting up your mic to how fittings work. From there, we can help you choose a trade, or help you improve on one you have started. Also note that brand new students are eligible for 2,000,000 ISK grants. When you choose a trade, you may join Bojo's School of the Trades. It is a corp that gives you ISK to learn. That's right: you get a paycheck to improve yourself. However, joining BSotT is not required to learn from us.
Beyond grants and a formal military service education, the Learning Coalition offers something to newberries that no other training institution offers, nor can be achieved without acceptance into an A-list corp----> the opportunity to play with players that have been here since the closed beta. A newberry has the chance to squad with some of the best players in New Eden, who will protect him, teach him the Art of War, and otherwise prevent pub stomps (students who wish to specialize in vehicles will also have access to free top tier vehicles); all courtesy of the Mango's network of Friendship throughout the absolute best corps.
Because BSotT wants students to have only the best training possible in their desired trade, we will find you the best mentor possible to teach you everything you need to know. All of our mentors are required to have been in top tier corps, place in the top of the leaderboards, and have a minimum of 14 million SP.
Upon completion of our extensive urriculum, you have the option to receive a Certificate certified by a top tier player in the area of your trade, to aid you in joining the corporation you choose, as our goal is to make newberries into who they want to be, not what we want we want them to be.
This high quality education does come at the cost of having a small number of available spots for students, as grants from BSoTT are expensive to keep constant. This does not mean we will ever deny an eager student education; only BSoTT grants.
We are working on creating a website to better manage and aid our students. |

Unfortunately after doing just one courier contract some Corp said GÇ£oh, shiny!GÇ¥ and declared war on Immortal Guides, which means auto-piloting around the galaxy in a shuttle will not be an acceptable risk until the War is over. I expect if they donGÇÖt see my Freighter the Corp that War DecGÇÖs us wonGÇÖt bother renewing the War Dec next week. I guess if I want to be a deep space trucker I better do it on my Alt in an NPC corp. Anyway, last I checked Immortal Guides had 58 new players. That is a count of players rather than characters as several members have alts in the Corp. Of those 58, only 1 has not logged on in more than a month. I have also gotten several new players to join the Learning Coalition without joining my Corp. ____________________________________________________________________________ Immortal Guides, supporting knowledge dissemination in New Eden since August 31, 2013.

Omega boosters when they came out the first time, 30 day actives, and the determination to catch up by playing a WHOLE lot of ambushes after capping :) The 3x and 2x SP events also helped a bunch.

@Fox Gaden: This is wonderful news! I'm glad we have Molon Labe accepting our students. Honestly, they're a great place to make a name for yourself because they are constantly being attacked in PC. The "Daily Tips" email is a great idea. Make sure to have a link to the dust forums in every email so they start to read the forums.
@Artificer Ghost: I was thinking that since we are becoming more and more established, we could start trying to get small donations from the large alliances (Maybe 1,000,000 ISK here and there). I think we are finally becoming a legitimate organization in the eyes of the community, and since our people are not the annoying fan-boys of Dust University (trololol), we will become much more liked in time.
I have a goal of sending new players into Eon corps. This would further increase our reputation. We need to work on finding a couple start pupils to send there. Perhaps they would send us small donations if they see us as a legitimate source for new players who are both useful and not annoying fan-boys.
I'll finally be back by Friday night and will be gaming all weekend (SQUEEE! :D). I hope to see some new guys, there.

Districts are only lost if you get cloned-out, right? Right. So yea. I could actually teach people to fly in my dropship.
By the way, Fox/Renier/Crash/Gaden, expect a guide from BSoTT that you could share with your students. It's a bit more advanced, but it could be some base knowledge before they start getting into my section of schooling.
Dropship fitting, surviving whole match, made (almost) top of the board without killing anyone, survived Railguns, Forges, and Swarms no problem, pretty cheap on SP and not too bad on ISK. :D
EDIT: I just need a time for that comms meeting. When are you normally online, and what timezone are you in?

Artificer Ghost wrote:Honestly, D-Uni would hopefully be the one we run mock battles with, to do the Training Grounds Simulation thingy. We have similar goals, and a Training Grounds would benefit both of us. However, I'll just point it out, that if two different corporations from the Learning Coalition each take a district, we can protect eachother from attacks (Lockdown timer or whatever), and still do the Training Grounds. If 3+ of the corporations manage to get a district, it'll be even better because we can just work INSIDE of the LC. Training Grounds, PC experience, good income. All the great stuff.
Hmmm...then that will be what we do. It's just so brilliantly evil :)
I have the connections to take any district we want from all but the best corporations so it won't be a huge problem getting it. I'm just not familiar with how locking districts between 2 corps works but that will be the way things happen. Do I care about publicly posting it on the forums? No, not really. I'm still not sure who we will take the districts from, but it will happen. Hahaha.

Anyways, look forward to talking about our secret plans. Secret secret plans. If you want, it'd be easier to communicate without getting in-game via email. Fox has mine, if you need it. Honestly, I think you should grab it anyways so we could set up a council meeting on the fly. We still need to figure out a Learning Coalition website somehow (I would contact the director that created my website, but I think he's going through something right now), expanding on PC talk, and just generally being able to make a quick council meeting whenever is pretty useful (Not to mention more efficient). If you can't reach Fox, I'll tell you when we're in-game. I just don't want to be getting a load of creepy emails, or stupid questions that could be asked over the forums.
Whoever here that manages to guess my email (I'd be surprised...), will be rewarded with a link to my Twitter Account. Good luck! (Also, I'll give you like, 3 ISK.)

My answer: Seriously, it's all practice. On a good match where I'm running dedicated Logistics and actually being good at the game and not messing around (90% of matches I play with you guys are just me literally struggling to have fun in the game), I make 2k+ WP.
It all just comes from lots of practice, but a couple things help. And by help, I mean make OR break the game: -Don't be a newbie Scout. -Carry a GEK -Be a Proto-Heavy -Stack Complex Damage Mods -Run with a squad of 12 via q-sincing -Spam equipment so much it lags out the entire enemy team
And most of all: Good luck!
Is this what you teach new players? Because what I'm getting out of it is this:
- Telling them not to play a specific class, rather than letting them experiment.
- Forcing them into the mindset that "Gank-Tanking" your dropsuit is a good idea.
- Forcing them to use one specific primary weapon, rather than promoting different types.
- You're openly supporting, and suggesting the use of equipment spam, to cause the enemy team to lag out of a match.
The latter being an exploit of game mechanics which creates an unfair environment, and can cause players to leave DUST 514 completely due to multiple bad experiences. You claim to be helping new players, and yet you're teaching them that exploiting glitches and bugs are OK. This disappoints me, and as such, you've lost my respect.
Ironyimation Inception wrote:Also forgot to ask a question, how do I increase my war point count per game? I can usually get 1k war points on a domination match but I can never get those 2k or even 1.5k. Irony is a sad panda. If there is one thing that Ghost here has said that was correct. It's practice does make perfect. Stick to the class that you want to run and enjoy running. Create multiple (cheap) suits, with various fittings and test them out solo and then with a squad. Eventually you'll find a fitting / weapon composition that works for you, and one that works for a squad (if your solo doesn't fit squad tactics.) Once you do find that fitting and weapon composition that works for you (both in a squad and solo) begin trying new tactics, find the advantages and disadvantages of your weapon comp. When I first started, I was a sniper and I was okay with the sniper rifle. I eventually got bored of running a sniper fit constantly and started working into a ground pounding AR user. At first I was using the fully-automatic rifle and kept dying a lot until one of my friends and a fellow D-UNI member suggested that I try using a Tac-AR. After about a month of practice, careful fitting, and carefully allocating my skill points, I was able to drop into a match, solo, with an assault suit and go roughly 22/6 on average. With a squad, I generally hit 25/4 on average. So roughly 1.5k WP solo and 2.1K WP in a squad (though if I'm with a squad, I'm sometimes leading that squad.) I generally run Skirmishes so there's a bit more chances for WP gain. But as I don't know you're style of play, and preferred class, I can't really give out pointers on how to improve your WP gain. If you're constantly hitting 1K WP in a Domination match, you're obviously doing something right.
Hmmm...I am sure that if we put our 2 mil SP players against yours, we would win every time because we teach our guys to win. We teach them to do exactly what the best players and corps do so they win, too. Do you guys know what "pew pew pew" is? No? That's because ya'll don't truly pursue knowledge near the same way we do.
We like them to know that heavies are not good right now, commandos are useless, callogis are the still one of the best suits, gallogis are the best tanks, and HAVs aren't worth speccing into.
I mean, honestly, I'm not too suprised because our mentors and instructors are all highly qualified PC vets. Lightning is one of the top 3 scout shotties in the game, Grease is the best sniper since Gem Cutter...shall I go on or have you had enough yet. Let's be honest, if you didn't have districts, you wouldn't keep any of your players because your curriculum is absolute garbage, your corp is run as a dictatorship, and you no longer train newberries to high standards. I've also heard from some of my Eve friends that E-Uni doesn't respect ya'll at all. I was in your corp for a few days checking out how newberries were treated. I even put an alt in to see what you did. I said, "can someone explain to me how this game works?" and even with over 50 people on, nobody responded. That INCLUDED some of your 'instructors'. I saw other newberries ask similar questions and your officers were too busy playing Farmville to fulfill your duties to the community. Perhaps ya'll should make some alts and check out how we do things. We answer EVERY QUESTION that comes into our chat in a timely manner.
I'd also like to add that I've seen a lot of D-Uni guys running around battles with swarm launchers when there are no vehicles and going 1/8 bc they don't know any better.
Honestly, I'm flattered that you've taken notice of us, though.
Let me take this moment to inform all of the newberries who may be reading this that if you want to be part of a dictatorship, join Dust University; if you want to be part of a community, join the Learning Coalition chat channel. No tax. No switching corps. No politics. Also, any money we make goes right back to our students, rather than sit in our corp wallet while we play Farmville.

At the time, I was VERY angry because currently this game is complete and utter bull-crap, because GEKs and exploits win out over any other type of gameplay. If you tried to speed-tank, good luck, because hip-fire from an AR could kill you.
About 90% of my post was sarcasm and hatred, so would you please step down, because I promise you I know what I'm doing.
EDIT: Char got here before I did, but oh well. :P

I seem to keep missing you online and you seem to keep ignoring my emails, so I decided to post this in the LC thread on the forums in hope of getting your response. I have finally gotten Gallente Proto Logi suits like you told me to and I just wanted to clarify, you told me to put a Duvolle on it and to stack damage mods and armor plates, right?
Your Neglected Padawan, Jillic
P.S. Can we please stop the Star Wars Master/Padawan roleplay now? It's starting to make me uncomfortable, especially when you start talking about your 'lightsaber' in the Christopher Walken voice.
yes do that. but tbh, ttk is so low now that proto and adv suits are hardly different. you'd be better of getting your core skills maxed out, rather than wasting it on a proto suit that will just get killed in less than a second by a duvoll..

Artificer Ghost wrote:Alright guys, great news! Before I begin, I'd love a like from the supporters of the Learning Coalition, it's you guys that helped us get to this point and I am... Over the moon right now. It's great. This is what drugs is like, I guess. Tonight, at 10:05 PM EST, Immortal Guides sold all their clones in Egbinger 6, and made the district empty. Bojo's School of The Trades then moved into position and secured the district. Immortal Guides then initiated attack on BSoTT, so we can launch the second part of our vision. Emails are open. Join the Learning Coalition chat, and if you are in the Learning Coalition, send either myself (Artificer Ghost), or the CEO of Immortal Guides (Renier Gaden) an in-game email telling us that you want in the match. The first 13 players to email me will get into the Campus, and the first 13 to message Renier will also make it into the match. Emails will remain open for 2 full days. When emails are closed and/or we have reached the player limit, I will post that in this thread. You must be online at 10:00 EST (3:00 AM UTC) to participate. Times are still being worked out, and are planning on being changed later on with a little bit of work. The ~7 minutes in the War Barge will be explaining the rules of the Campus, what to do and not to do, and basically explaining what the Campus is. For our second match, we'll be doing vehicle-style tournaments. Gaden, Charlotte, and myself are still working out the details of this, but we do know that we'll be having it recorded by CEO Pyrex (Shoutout to him, go on Youtube, give him a Subscribe and a Follow on Twitter!), and possible more. If any other Youtubers are interested in filming the tournaments (You may also participate, if you'd like), then please send myself or Renier Gaden an in-game email and we'll get you into the player list. The first match is more like us seeing what maps we have, and then planning out tournaments based on that. For example, if we needed to do LAV Races in the tournaments, we'd need to see the map, and then plan out a good route to use that isn't to long, is simple, and also isn't too short. During this first match, I'll also be teaching people how to fly a dropship. I'm one of, if not THE most skilled Dropship Pilot in the Learning Coalition, so I could absolutely teach you a couple things about it. The fee required is 5 Million ISK OR for you to be in Bojo's School of The Trades. Being in BSoTT requires a minimum of 1.5 million SP. I know it seems like a lot, but you could probably do it in a month or so of playing. :) Once we get the times worked out and everything (We're looking at doing 12:00 PM EST, 5:00 PM UTC, it's most populated at that time), I'll be putting up an official dynamic player list. By dynamic, I mean for the first PC match, It'll have this team. And then for the second, it'll be a different team (Assuming different people emailed me). All corporations of the Learning Coalition, I suggest (Not required, but it's helping out) that you send out a corp mail that basically says to email Renier Gaden or Artificer Ghost. Preferably Arty, as he will most likely have the smallest student pool of all the corps. :P I'd also like to give a shoutout to the following people- -Charlotte O'Dell. Whole PC thing was only an idea from me, but this guy made it happen. -'Gaden'. Helped secure Egbinger 6 & 7. -Jillic (Helped defend Egbinger 7. I'll get to that) -DJINN Kujo. Provided districts AND protection for free. -Everyone that helped defend Egbinger 7. For my final and most heartfelt shoutout (So many), I'd like to thank Red Star. I'm sorry I got mad at you for attacking us, honestly, but I really do want to let everyone know, these guys are fine. They initiated a PC match on us (No idea why) and only one guy actually came in. I can only assume that Red Star called back their troops last-second or something, and this was just a blueberry that saw it in the battle list. Either way: Huge "Thank You" to this guy for not killing our clones. I'm very sorry I called you so many words. :D So right. I think that's it for now. Seriously, send these guys ISK. Except Charlotte. He's loaded. There was a miscommunication and in the end, I ended up logging on and asking him if he wanted the 150 Million ISK that I owed him. I actually owed him about half that. Really though, give some ISK to Fox/Crash Gaden, Jillic, DJINN Kujo, all of them. They're great. And why not donate a couple million to me? pls. i poor.
sorry! I was only able to get on for long enough to set up the battle today! I'll give the isk to you next time i see you! promise xoxo

This training session illustrated the clockwork efficiency and organisation that the Learning Coalition is known for, which of course is based on the workings of a clock which was tossed off a building and run over by a LAV.
Tic.........Tic.Tic.....................Tic......Sproing!
So when the time came for the match, no one from BojoGÇÖs School of the Trade was on to give Learning Coalition members access to the attacking team. I logged in on my BSotT alt, but discovered that he had not been given the Terrestrial Combat Officer role.
So we only had 16 slots. We carpet bombed Corp chat and Learning Coalition chat with invites and took anyone who wanted to go. Luckily they all fit in the 16 available slots.
So the match started and I called in a few militia dropships. Several beginner pilots started plying the skies. A few ran into buildings, so I called in some more.
Unfortunately a relatively new Corp member started hacking all the objectives. I had made it clear in a Corp mail, in Learning Coalition chat when we were doing the invites, and on Comms, that people should not hack the objectives as it would shorten the match. I checked and this member had voice activated in Learning Coalition chat along with the rest of us, but he refused to communicate. So, I am assuming that it was a deliberate act of sabotage.
Since Immortal Guides is a basic training Corp, and has no entry requirements, there is really no practical way to keep spies and saboteurs out, so I was not particularly surprised at this turn of events. I had originally planned to have the other team hack half of the objectives if this happened, to balance the null cannons and give us a decent match time. Unfortunately we were not able to get anyone onto the other team to do this so the match ended in about 8 minutes.
Some of my guys were a little disappointed at that. GÇ£Is that it?GÇ¥ So I went to initiate an attack on BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades, to setup another match, but SVER True Blood had beaten me too it.
The SVER True Blood attack on BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades will happen at 01:00 EVE time, Saturday evening in the US, Sunday morning in Europe. This should be interesting. I can ring for it...Attackign a tutorial corp is dumb. really?!? So I guess that makes AE and Imp Bastards dumb then huh? You seriously don't believe that you can just have some districts and not have to defend them? Wow. Welcome to lolPC.
Remember when i said you would lose all of your districts and we would get out own? Sounds to me like the community didn't believe your 'university' was helping anyone. Have you checked out Learning Coalition chat lately? There are more people in there than in your corp chat at any given time. Maybe it's because I'm awesome; maybe it's because we do what you told people you did better than you do. If you honestly think you can take our districts, we can get literally the entire community to rally alongside us.
Fear the Mango. Fear its Friends.
In other news, the LC is having 2 meta 2 and below training PC battles tonight. All are welcome to play. There is no entry fee. There is no obligation of membership to any of our corps.

I'm just curious. Also we have nothing to do with your districts being attacked. Its pc, corps are going to attack you.
