Alright guys, great news!
Before I begin, I'd love a like from the supporters of the Learning Coalition, it's you guys that helped us get to this point and I am... Over the moon right now. It's great. This is what drugs is like, I guess.
Tonight, at 10:05 PM EST, Immortal Guides sold all their clones in Egbinger 6, and made the district empty. Bojo's School of The Trades then moved into position and secured the district. Immortal Guides then initiated attack on BSoTT, so we can launch the second part of our vision.
Emails are open. Join the Learning Coalition chat, and if you are in the Learning Coalition, send either myself (Artificer Ghost), or the CEO of Immortal Guides (Renier Gaden) an in-game email telling us that you want in the match. The first 13 players to email me will get into the Campus, and the first 13 to message Renier will also make it into the match. Emails will remain open for 2 full days. When emails are closed and/or we have reached the player limit, I will post that in this thread. You must be online at 10:00 EST (3:00 AM UTC) to participate. Times are still being worked out, and are planning on being changed later on with a little bit of work.
The ~7 minutes in the War Barge will be explaining the rules of the Campus, what to do and not to do, and basically explaining what the Campus is.
For our second match, we'll be doing vehicle-style tournaments. Gaden, Charlotte, and myself are still working out the details of this, but we do know that we'll be having it recorded by CEO Pyrex (Shoutout to him, go on Youtube, give him a Subscribe and a Follow on Twitter!), and possible more. If any other Youtubers are interested in filming the tournaments (You may also participate, if you'd like), then please send myself or Renier Gaden an in-game email and we'll get you into the player list.
The first match is more like us seeing what maps we have, and then planning out tournaments based on that. For example, if we needed to do LAV Races in the tournaments, we'd need to see the map, and then plan out a good route to use that isn't to long, is simple, and also isn't too short.
During this first match, I'll also be teaching people how to fly a dropship. I'm one of, if not THE most skilled Dropship Pilot in the Learning Coalition, so I could absolutely teach you a couple things about it. The fee required is 5 Million ISK OR for you to be in Bojo's School of The Trades. Being in BSoTT requires a minimum of 1.5 million SP. I know it seems like a lot, but you could probably do it in a month or so of playing. :)
Once we get the times worked out and everything (We're looking at doing 12:00 PM EST, 5:00 PM UTC, it's most populated at that time), I'll be putting up an official dynamic player list. By dynamic, I mean for the first PC match, It'll have this team. And then for the second, it'll be a different team (Assuming different people emailed me).
All corporations of the Learning Coalition, I suggest (Not required, but it's helping out) that you send out a corp mail that basically says to email Renier Gaden or Artificer Ghost. Preferably Arty, as he will most likely have the smallest student pool of all the corps. :P
I'd also like to give a shoutout to the following people- -Charlotte O'Dell. Whole PC thing was only an idea from me, but this guy made it happen. -'Gaden'. Helped secure Egbinger 6 & 7. -Jillic (Helped defend Egbinger 7. I'll get to that) -DJINN Kujo. Provided districts AND protection for free. -Everyone that helped defend Egbinger 7.
For my final and most heartfelt shoutout (So many), I'd like to thank Red Star. I'm sorry I got mad at you for attacking us, honestly, but I really do want to let everyone know, these guys are fine. They initiated a PC match on us (No idea why) and only one guy actually came in. I can only assume that Red Star called back their troops last-second or something, and this was just a blueberry that saw it in the battle list. Either way: Huge "Thank You" to this guy for not killing our clones. I'm very sorry I called you so many words. :D
So right. I think that's it for now. Seriously, send these guys ISK. Except Charlotte. He's loaded. There was a miscommunication and in the end, I ended up logging on and asking him if he wanted the 150 Million ISK that I owed him. I actually owed him about half that. Really though, give some ISK to Fox/Crash Gaden, Jillic, DJINN Kujo, all of them. They're great. And why not donate a couple million to me? pls. i poor.

The first battle will be for Learning Coalition members only, and we will be focussing on low mortality activities such as Dropship training. (We can spare a few clones for pilot error.) We need to allow the clone count in the Bojo district to grow so we have a nice buffer in both before we begin public classes and tournaments.
We have great plans, but are still in the early stages of figuring out how all this works. There are a lot of logistical stuff we are working on. We do hope that the second battle can be some sort of public tournament, if we can get our act together in time. Sort of a grand opening of the Learning Coalition Training Districts.
Anticipated uses for the Learning Coalition Training Districts:
Public Events:
- Dropship Flight School - LAV races (with a an ISK prize to the winner) - Epic Dog-fight. Squads of 3, each squad gets a dropship. (Prize for the surviving team.) - Operator Skill Tank Tournament (uniform tank fit) (Prize for the survivor.) - Free for all Tank Tournament (Operators use their own fit) (Prize for the survivor.) - Melee Tournament (The Great Brawl) Last Merc standing gets a prize.
Internal Training Matches: - Dropship Flight School - Live fire training exercises. (It would be nice if experienced PC FCGÇÖs and Squad leaders could help lead our students against each other for a more authentic experience.) - Melee tournaments (to practice melee) - LAV races to practice driving. - Tank training (Tank vs Tank fights, disengage at 1/3 armour to save ISK) Without AV, or with AV used by a trainer to teach avoidance techniques. |

Fox is correct. Right now, the time is messed up, so we won't be doing any tournaments, but you have a chance to mail myself or Fox until Saturday at 10:00 PM EST OR 3:00 AM UTC. After this first testing tournament, we'll be waiting until around 12:00 EST / 5:00 UTC until we attack it again. This way, we have the battles open at the time where the LC is most populated with newbies and vets alike.
After we get it to the time we want, we're going to start regularly attacking each other to lock the district and get them ready for training matches. The first couple fights will be dedicated towards learning the map of each district.

Neutrality and the avoidance of perceived bias corp affiliation brings. for example recent examples where certain corp members were suiciding in FW. It's a tactic the game allows and that many are okay with, but it's not one I condone. If i were in that corp some of that rubs off on me and then my videos.

He can Join the Learning Coalition to have access to students, without having to commit his allegiances to a specific Corp or Alliance. It might be a better fit.
The Learning Coalition is more of a community of education orientated players who want to help new players improve, and the new players who are seeking help. It is really sort of like an in-game version of the Rookie Training Grounds forum.
Like the Rookie Training Grounds forum, the Learning Coalition brings together people of many different allegiances, some neutral, many not. We try to support each other when it comes to training, but it does not mean we always have to agree. Freedom of speech and thought is an important tenant of the Learning Coalition. |

That feel when you see a newberry leaving his dropship at the spawn and steal it. Then he jumps back in and takes a ride with me, we fly for two minutes, and in that time he learns that you can do cart wheels and dive without dying. Then I land before the match ends, returning his dropship. He jumps out, looks at me for ten seconds then tries to fly but only scrapes the bottom of his dropship along the ground. |

Pass the word.
Right now I am doing over 90% of the recruiting of new students for the Learning Coalition. I have had very good success for one man, but I could use help.
If you see new players asking questions in local, or you squad up with someone who has been playing less than a week, or however you meet them, direct them to the Learning Coalition. It will help them get the support they need, and help us keep this program going.
If they are still in an NPC Corp, or are not happy with their current Corp, then they should join a Learning coalition Corp. If they are in a player Corp, and are happy there, they can still join Learning Coalition chat as an external student and get many of the benefits that our members get.
Learning Coalition Corps:
- New players should join Immortal Guides. My Corp is the basic training corp. Immortal Guides has no entry requirements.
- Players with over 1.5 million skill points, a mic, and a recommendation from a Learning Coalition instructor can apply to BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades*. To get a recommendation, join Learning Coalition chat and squad up with our instructors. Tell them you would like to join BojoGÇÖs School of the trades and if they agree that you are ready, just give that instruct as a reference in your application letter. Be patient, as it might take some time to verify the recommendation. Joining Immortal Guides first can make it easier and faster to get an Instructor reference as they will be paying particular attention to Immortal Guides members looking for students who are ready to graduate to advanced training.
- Those who wish to dedicated themselves to the ways of the Scout, should apply to R 0 N 1 N.
But to keep it simple, just tell them to join Immortal Guides. Once they get in, we will help them get to where they need to go.
*The recruitment post for BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades is still 95% correct, but keep in mind that it was written before the formation of the Learning Coalition, and before the change in management at BSotT. Bojo The Mighty, although no longer CEO of BSotT, is a founding member of the Learning Coalition, and is on the Learning Coalition Council. |

Seig, glad you could make a suggestion but we're hoping to keep these tournaments down to no-skill-needed. All tanks, LAVs, and Dropships will be supplied by Bojo's School of The Trades, from my personal arsenal. However, we are planning something a bit different.
For each tournament, we'll be doing a tier type system. You have a choice of 2 different types. Low-Sec Tournament: Both sides have the same vehicle and same fit, provided by BSoTT. Each vehicle is identical down to the very last module, so it comes down to the skill of the player to win.
Null-Sec Tournament: Each side uses his/her own vehicle and fitting, as long as the type of vehicle matches the tournament the player is participating in. Meaning that you can't bring an HAV to a Dropship fight, or vise versa. This shows not only the skill and knowledge of the player, but also the fitting know-how.

If interested, we're going to be having a look at the district, maybe fly some derpships, and all that fun stuff. This one is mostly to give my members a chance to see their district. I know it looks the same as it does in a Pub match, but its their district and a lot of them would like to see which map it is. I usually donGÇÖt have 16 people on at once, so I will probably invite some people from Learning Coalition chat as well. Artificer will certainly have openings for other members of the Learning Coalition on the Bojo team.
This match is not a combat training exercise. We will be giving people a chance to practice flying dropships. Since the vehicle limit prevents everyone from flying dropships, we will also have melee practice at Objective B. I encourage you to bring a Nanite injector to save some clones (it nets you extra WP too).
Coms will be in Learning Coalition chat, so both teams can communicate.
Please do not hack Objectives. Activating Null cannons will shorten the match.
Please do not hack turrets. Beginner pilots will not appreciate it. You may destroy turrets if you would like. |

Maybe we can help Killar-12 out by hosting some of his Thunder Dome matches. Since Immortal Guides and BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades have adjacent districts on the same planet, we donGÇÖt need to buy clone packs to setup matches. Or at least not when we have things coordinated properly. Art did have to buy a clone pack for tonightGÇÖs match, because his district was locked.
Thunder Dome
Anyway, any Thunder Dome type activity in tonightGÇÖs match should be at Objective B. Bring a Nanite Injector. A few uplinks would be good too. |
