Hey there Redshock!
To join up with the Learning Coalition, all you got to do is join the chat channel "Learning Coalition", and you're set to go. Ask any question, and I'm more than positive one of our people will be able to answer it.
Doesn't it tell you in the in-game tutorial how to change your Dropsuit Fitting?
Well, to change it, click on the suit, click edit, and then use the left stick to look around the wheel. Hover over the item you want to change, and then you can click on it, press replace, and then pick another item from the list shown on the left side. Then, just exit out of the screen and you're good to go. :)

Bojo The Mighty wrote:So although when I return I can not be a part of this LC...it seems like diplomacy issues with DUNI?
I left DUST University because TrueXer0z was a bully and a tyrant (in game and on the forums); and because Kevall Longstrider/Dennie Fleetfoot was unwilling to put a stop to it. He has a zero tolerance police against swearing, but he takes no action to prevent any other type or bullying or harassment of his members. If the CEO would not act, I had not power to do anything about it, and I felt that if I stayed I would simply be enabling TrueXer0z' bullying behavior.
So I left, and I have been trying to stay clear of DUST University, thinking that if I stayed out of TrueXer0z business, that he would stay out of mine. That is why I have been so reticent about talking about the circumstances of my departure. Unfortunately Charlotte OGÇÖDell broke that truce, and finally brought the full wrath of TrueXer0z down upon my head.
I got involved in setting up the Learning Coalition to continue the work that I had been doing at DUST University for 5 months. I made contact with all the independent people and groups actively trying to help new players at that time. I felt that if we all combined our resources we could help a lot more new players than we could individually. So when Charlotte OGÇÖDell suggested forming a coalition for learning, I took the idea and ran with it.
I knew Charlotte OGÇÖDell was a Troll when I got involved with him. But I also knew that he was actively taking new players under his wing and training them. Actions speak leader than words, and the way he was finding and helping new players really spoke to me.
Charlotte OGÇÖDell was always a bit suspicious of DUST UniversityGÇÖs intentions. I suspected it was because they were a big organization and no one really knew what happened inside. He also told me that he thought that posts by DUST University officials seemed GÇ£pompousGÇ¥. So I was greatly surprised when he decided to join DUST University. He was only in there for a couple of days, but I assume he used that time to read their forums and talk to their students, because after he left D-Uni his suspicion turned into a full on hate for the organization.
After that Charlotte OGÇÖDell wanted the Learning Coalition to take DUST UniversityGÇÖs districts and get into Planetary Conquest training. While I thought the idea of using districts for training might have some merit, I could not understand why we should be taking them from DUST University. I stated both privately and publicly that I did not think that taking DUST UniversityGÇÖs districts would be a net benefit to the community. What I had heard indicated that DUST University students were being given opportunities to train in Planetary Conquest using those districts. After giving it some thought I finally put my food down and stated that I would not have any personal involvement in the taking of DUST University districts.
Shortly after that two Planetary Conquest districts were donated to the Learning Coalition. Around the same time, management at DUST University decided to get out of Planetary Conquest because it was too much work to administrate and because they could teach friendly fire mechanics in Faction Warfare after 1.7. So when someone attacked their districts, they did not bother to defend them.
Charlotte OGÇÖDell, in his ongoing vendetta against D-Uni, made a thread in The War Room forum trolling D-Uni for losing their districts. He was quite taken with the fact that the Learning Coalition now had districts and DUST University had none. Inevitably a D-Uni director responded with criticism for the Learning Coalition for acting in such a manner. I posted to say that Charlotte OGÇÖDell was representing his own views, and did not speak for other members of the Learning Coalition.
When TrueXer0z finally posted, rather than responding to Charlotte OGÇÖDellGÇÖs posts, he instead posted vicious and personal attacks against me. Among other things, he claimed that I had left DUST University because I had a mental breakdown in real life. It was not just a GÇ£heGÇÖs crazy!GÇ¥ as you would commonly see on the forums. He was trying to convince people that this was an event that had actually happened, and that I was mentally unstable in real life.
Of course with posts slandering people outside of the game the entire thread was deleted by CCP. TrueXer0z also made several posts in this thread as well, but most of those were also deleted by CCP.
With this type of personal attack being leveled against me, I felt it was about time that I tell my side of the story. |

Bojo The Mighty wrote:So although when I return I can not be a part of this LC...it seems like diplomacy issues with DUNI? I honestly still believe BSOTT should have been taken down a notch, to something less official.
You see because the idea of BSOTT being a corporation sort of infers a Supermarketesque approach when that is not at all the direction. I would like to see BSOTT as a smaller, (3 Masters, 6 students to a master) sort of deal. Something that can be handled without a spotlight grudge match.
But I forfeited any say because Arty was really enthusiastic and I am a crowd pleasa. But don't start up a pissing match with DUNI, it's a pretty stupid approach. Someone apologize and regurgitate any and all egos. It's the LC for god's sake.
But good work on districts and things and going on the direction you wish, I really do believe that y'all can create something. But just recognize that when/if I return I am not going to be officially part of anything. One of the principles I have tried to adhere to as the Learning Coalition grows is to maintain a strong student to instructor ratio. Having 3 Masters and 6 students only helps 6 students at a time, and scheduling conflicts can prevent the 3 Masters from always being there for their students. Having 50 Masters and 100 students helps 100 students while maintaining a similar quality of instruction. It also insures that there is always someone on to help. It builds a community.
The balance was hard to maintain at first. When the Learning Coalition started we had Instructors and no students. Then as I focused on recruitment we started getting more students than those instructors could properly support. So I started to focus more on recruiting instructors, until the number of instructors was threatening to catch up to the number of students, so I shifted back to trying to recruit more students. Eventually I hope that the Learning Coalition will take on a life of its own and will not need me anymore.
Neither Arty nor I did anything to instigate the current dispute that D-Uni has with the Learning Coalition. Art has just been reacting to events around him and trying to make things work, as best he can. He has no personal beef with D-Uni, and they should have no beef with him. But when they criticize the Learning Coalition, Art canGÇÖt be faulted for trying to defend it.
Trying to deal with administering districts just makes me really wish CCP would get off their butts and add in the Training Ground that they talked about. Holding districts is a lot of hassle just to teach Dropship Flight School and setup controlled environments for specialty training. |

Yup. I would go all-in on vehicles, but [WARNING: RANT INCOMING], I don't know, it just seems an iffy move at best.
What's going to happen is, I'm going to take my 2.5+ million SP and stick it all into, say, dropships. Some will go into tanks, but dropships are first. Anyways, I have my dropships, great! But now I need guns. Hold on, looking at this Skill Planner, it'll take most of my SP to get into Fragmented Missiles! If I do that, I can't have as good modules!
Basically, I'm not going to skill all-in to something that I won't get the most out of. I'll have to grind a ton more just to get to the level that I'm at now, which is not the right way to do it. Most, if not all of this is going into Proto-Logi OR Proto-Scout. Whichever one. Deciding Soon(TM). But if I get back into Dropships, I'll be running a Grimsnes with terrible resistance, no ground support capabilities (Which is what I primarily run currently), and definitely no survivability.
TL;DR, I'm not going back into vehicles. I'll probably get ONLY the Grimsnes (Not even good modules for it), but most of this is going into infantry.

Oh wait, the swarmers... Right... Sucks to be them. Even I, with level 3-4 in Swarms, am enjoying this nerf. Forge Gun nerf, sexy, but I'm gonna fly my MLT Dropships before I even think about touching anything else, to make sure the forge still doesn't OHK Vipers. Next I'll test Gorgons. Hoping the Assault Forge Gun gets less overpowered.
Also, I tried out Forge Gun Sniping with the 'Tigris' Sentinel A-1, and I have a new respect for Forge Snipers. Unless they're using the Assault variant. I still despise those guys. >:|

As a pilot project, the Learning CoalitionGÇÖs foray into Planetary Conquest was very successful. We determined that there were several types of training and events which the Learning Coalition could run using Planetary Conquest districts, which were beneficial to the community. We also determined that the Community is supportive of the Learning Coalition holding districts and hosting such events.
We were able to gain experience with district management and the mechanics behind Planetary Conquest. This gave us a better understanding of the resource requirements for effective management of PC districts.
Students: In order for training matches to be viable, the Learning Coalition needs to be able to field 12 students, with 4 instructors, at any time that we have an active district. This would allow us to field a full team for training matches against external Corporations, or to stage an 8 v 8 internal match in a Red vs Blue style.
Administration: It is clear that for any time slot in which the Learning Coalition operate a district we need to have at least 3 people fully capable of organizing events, training sessions, or coordinating ringers. We must have backups for our backups if we want things to run smoothly. This must be in place for each Learning Coalition Corp which holds a district.
Even for Community events or public training sessions where the event is open to the public, rather than requiring the presence of LC students, we would still need members to organize, and bring people into the match.
Based on the projected growth rate of the Learning Coalition it is expected that we will have the student body and administration in place to be able to properly make use of, and manage, Planetary Conquest districts in about 3 months. Adding a little margin for error, our goal is to get back into Planetary Conquest district based training in April. Provided that the Community still supports us in this endeavour.
Therefore, Immortal Guides has sold all clones and has abandoned its district. All funds from clone sales have been transferred to Learning Coalition Bank, where transactions with these funds can be tracked by members of the Learning Coalition Council. The ISK will be used to fund education programs such as: Skill Book reimbursement, vehicle reimbursement when an Instructor calls in vehicles for students to train with, or to purchase clone packs to claim districts in April.
BojoGÇÖs School of the TradesGÇÖ district was lost to Eliters in a training match due to our guy not being able to get online to bring people in to hack an objective to ensure a defender victory. Since the Learning Coalition is pulling out of PC, we release all claim to this district. BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades did not make any profit from their district, although I think they came close to breaking even, minus the cost of some dropships used for training.
The Learning Coalition may continue to offer PC district based training, if arrangements can be made with Corporations holding districts to allow us to use their facilities. Our capacity to organize such events will increase as we train up more Terrestrial Combat Officers, and more Terrestrial Management Officers. By train, I mean more than simple the mechanics. We need people in these roles who are capable of organizing events and training sessions, so that we can distribute the workload. If we hold multiple events/sessions, each should be run by a different person, to avoid an undo burden resting on a single set of shoulders. |

Now for a bit of recognition to members of the Community who helped to make the Planetary Conquest District Training Pilot Project such a success.
Many thanks to DJINN Kujo and Ancient Exiles. for donating the two districts to the Learning Coalition. It was a bit of a surprise, but we learned so much from the experience.
Another thanks to DJINN Kujo and Ancient Exiles for providing ringers when Red Star attacked Immortal GuidesGÇÖ district.
Many thanks also go to Molon Labe. which agreed to ring for the Learning Coalition if needed, and provided members to fill our teams for training matches when we were short.
Many thanks to individual members of the Learning Coalition who offered to ring or fill slots in training matches, from corps such as Robbing the Hood, Science of Death, Southern Legion, Onslaught, and many more.
I must thank SVER True Blood, in particular Roman837 and CPL Bloodstone, for organizing a No Proto training match using the BojoGÇÖs School of the Trades district. It was not only my fist time as FC, but my first time in a PC battle (even a training battle). It was a good fight and I learned a lot. Top WP on our team in that match was actually a student.
I must thank Echo 1991 and Deadly Blue Dots for organizing a Meta 2 match in the Immortal Guides district. We had a new member who had only been playing DUST for a few days Squad Leading in that match.
I would like to thank Tremal Jack for agreeing to a training match using BojoGÇÖs School of the TradeGÇÖs district. I am sorry that we did not show up, but getting the district is a good cancellation prize.
Finally I must thank xxwhitedevillxx M, and Maphia Clan Unit Unicorn, for the privilege of hosting their PC Lag and Frame Rate testing. I feel this type of testing makes a positive contribution to the game and the community which could benefit from any tweaking CCP does as a result of this testing. Besides, if I ever feel sentimental about our time in PC, I can always watch the MCUU video of their testing to see the district we once held. These are the results of PC testing |
