I'm guessing AV grenades seek objects based on their size and movement. In other words, if its big and moves, it'll home in on it. If it simply acted on magnetism they wouldn't leave your hand.

Squad orders give the members more points than the leader for commissioning it. Coupled with the risk that your strike will bounce of cover or not get any kills at all and I think it balances quite nicely already.

Or we could give everyone proto gear at the start, and the militia gear is most expensive. Then people can't complain about veterans having skill as well as equipment advantage. Skill will be balanced by gradually weaker equipment.

I'd say sprinting shouldn't disable the nova knife charge. There has to be a way to get close to the enemy, fast. If a heavy or assault sees someone running at them with a nova knife they'd pick up the food they abandoned when the game started and...
