This might be an issue with a particular type of mouse. I'm using a Logitech MX 518 and I've found sensitivity a bit low, but it's nothing like as bad as you're describing. What brand of mouse are you using?

Sometimes you get the map with grass. But yeah, the game is very heavy on the browns and greys. Reviewers won't be very kind to it if it doesn't green-up a little more by the end. There is no shortage of games which are predominately grey and brown.
