CCP seems to have catered to the AR. It's the easiest to use, has the best range except to the SR, and cost fewer SP than other light weapons which are much less efficient. The AR even has the best all around PG and CPU efficiency of light weapons...

I would be ok if CCP did a full reset. A least it would help the newest players cope instead of getting proto-stomped. New players may not be great but they'd be closer to competitive than what they'll find now against proto users.
