Baiten Kaitos was only on the Gamecube I think. I also play FFXIV as a Au Ra Dark Knight and Marauder. Oooooh and if you can pick up Tales of Symphonia. It's 80+ hours long, has awesome characters, and even has its own three season anime. The opening theme...Ultimately I think Sheena's character was the coolest with the biggest Over Limit Techs ever. You gave up on the Dragoon?
Oh wait, that was Ark lmao. I remember you talking about Paladins and Marauders now. Obvs I am still a Bard, though I am tempted to go Dark Knight, because that, bard and red mage is what i usually do in XI.
I think the last Tales game i played was Symphonia, but I didn't put hours in like I did with XI, XIV, Dark Souls, Rogue Galaxy, Smash Bros, Legend of Zelda, Skies of Arcadia etc etc.
And ok, I can easily pick up a Gamecube from 2nd and Charles, already need one because my Wii is starting to fvck up, and I need to play Melee constantly as not to lose my sharpness for the competitive scene

Guess who's back from the dead... Definitely not me cause I was never dead I came back for the new anime season, lots of my troubles have past. Unfortunately, new problems are here but I can most likely post weekly reviews on the winter anime season. 630 notifications though

You did not just call RWBY a cartoon it's getting a japanese dub and there is no reason why it wouldn't be an anime. I'm curious why you called it "more of a cartoon" though.

Kail Mako wrote:Well, to get back on track... I've started the Winter 2016 season. Things are shaping up to be fairly good. Just from the first episodes...
Myriad Colors: Phantom World: This one seems like it's going to be fun. It'll probably be clich+¬, so we'll see where it takes us.
Active Raid: I'm actually not that into the mecha genre, but I can see the appeal from this one. It doesn't seem to take itself ultra seriously, and I'm always a sucker for random Engrish. Plus, the cast is large, and promises to be at least mildly interesting.
Ojisan and Marshmallow: A cute and funny short, that I can see to being very entertaining.
Erased: It's a slow boil, I admit, but I recommend you watch this right now. No research beforehand, just watch it blind. Right now.
Feel the same. Also check out Dakashi on the Funimation app. It is a good one also. Yep Myriad is kind of cliche, but who cares? It is still funny. |

On topic, started watching GATE season 2. I feel like the animation isn't as good but it's because I've been spoiled from watching One Punch Man.
Which I have watched 6 times straight through by the way. Oh man.... I only planned on returning for events, or once 1.3 dropped, but... I guess I'll get on and check timers. I can't guarantee that I'll be on, or even put a team together. The most I can do is send out a general mail to corp, and tell the members of the Cap PC chat. Everything else is up to others actually showing up.
Damn, you really love OPM. I liked it, but not that much. Honestly, when I was ending my catch-up of 2015 I marathoned the whole series in one day.

Animation style, presentation, and source really.
I'd define anime as a style of animation originating from Japan that is typically based on a successful manga. RWBY is different enough that I don't see it as an anime, influenced by it certainly, but not one itself.
I refuse to label every cartoon with googli-eyes an anime. Like Avatar it's not really an anime.

Originally RWBY was a web series.... still is really and I don't think it has been aired on television but then again I could be wrong.
As for Arpeggio I leave this "Arpeggio of Blue Steel (FÆ+püìTï+pü«péópâ½pâÜpé+pé¬ Aoki Hagane no Arupejio?) is a Japanese manga series produced by Ark Performance and serialized in Sh+ìnen Gahosha's Young King Ours. Nine manga volumes have been released"
PPGZ " PPGZ for short, is a Japanese magical girl anime series directed by Megumu Ishiguro, based on the American animated television series The Powerpuff Girls. The anime is co-produced by Cartoon Network Japan and Aniplex and was animated and produced by Toei Animation, featuring character design by Miho Shimogasa (Cutie Honey Flash, Ultra Maniac). As production occurred in Japan, Craig McCracken, the original creator of The Powerpuff Girls, was not directly involved with the project."
Heroman as I understand it was produced by a Marvel Comic writer though it uses all of the tropes associated with the general of manga despite the one who wrote it.
And tbh I've never heard of the other one.

In game Regal is hard to learn but really rewarding for the aerial gameplay.
That said I was trying to describe Regal's character to someone.... it basically ended up something like this.
"There's this guy called Regal you get mid way through the game whose hands are shackled together and fights exclusively with his feet on par with angels, the main character, and giant monsters. Why? Because if he were fighting with his hands it would be too easy...
....Oh did I mention he's actually a martial arts specialist whose original skill set was boxing?"
That said Sheena is the best character and that's not because she's the bustiest. It's the way you get her as a character after she appears as a boss 3 times in the game, the third time being literally the worst fight in existence as she appears right after the Iapryx boss in the Balacruf Mausoleum and having a stupid Pyre Seal that can burst damage you down 800 HP.
That and the fight against that ninja at the end of the game if you are good enough.

Beat the thing on Unknown difficulty multiple times.
You want to have fun in Tales? Try playing with Combo turned on from the Grade shop. It sets EXP earned to 1, and you get more and more EXP the higher your combo's go.

Kail Mako wrote:KanColle > Arpeggio. (I've never seen Arpeggio, but KanColle is good, even if it is essentially just an advertisement for the game.) Personally, both of them are equal for me as each have major strengths as well as glaring weaknesses.
Arpeggio went out on a limb and the whole animation is done using 3D CG (I believe it was at least). They had plenty of source material to pull from, the protagonist shows his brilliance with his abilities in battle, and Arpeggio delivered some great animation work with smooth CG rendering, including an adrenaline-pumped animation finale, showing the spectacular CG work within the final battle.
Kantai Collection had a great start, with many memorable characters Kancolle players know from the game. The soundtrack is amazing and when the 3D effects are used they are outstanding, along with a beginning sequence that hooks the user with how the shipgirls (or kanmusume) equip their various equipments used for the battle.
However, Arpeggio diverged from the plot at the end to some ridiculously weird ending that makes Naruto fillers look tame. It diverged from the manga so much that left me wondering what the actual f*ck just happened.
Meanwhile, the plot in Kantai Collection was very hot/cold. Many times, it gave me mood whiplash which I feel like I have to go to a chiropractor to get myself straightened out from it. There are some major missteps that could have been avoided as well, such as showing the middle card as the "surprise" character before she was actually introducing, not giving Fubuki her correct Kai Ni outfit, and not even showing one of the ending bosses Fubuki kills. I feel these were big missteps that could have been avoided.
From my vantage point, I don't believe it's fair to compare the source material between the two franchises. Kancolle is a game. Arpeggio is a seinen manga. They both feature anthropomorphized "girls are ships" theme but the source to form the plot is vastly different. Arpeggio has a well defined plot line that the anime studio can follow, while the Kancolle characters each have their own unique and memorable characteristics, even though there are over 200+ shipgirls (but to prevent from character overload, only a couple handfuls of the girls were shown, with many only making cameo appearances). The plot of Arpeggio far outranks Kancolle, but the characters in Kancolle far outrank Arpeggio.
Thankfully, there's redemption in sight for both. Kancolle announced at the end of the series that a sequel was in production and just recently they announced that it will be in a movie format, soon to be released. Arpeggio redeems itself by taking the anime plot line and veering it right back on track with the manga in the movie that was released. A second movie has also been announced along with a release date.
TL;DR: Personally, I love the military genre in anime and I love both series. As such, I would recommend both Kancolle and Arpeggio to anime watchers, letting them know that while both get off to a bit of a rocky start, both have a great outlook ahead as the sequels seem to improve on their weaknesses from their initial premiere.

Hmm... can't get SMITE since there isn't a Mac client, but I can try out Dota. You'll have to guide me on how to do anything on that though. I will, just send me your Steam account name.

As such, I would recommend both Kancolle and Arpeggio to anime watchers, letting them know that while both get off to a bit of a rocky start, both have a great outlook ahead as the sequels seem to improve on their weaknesses from their initial premiere. Have you seen Upotte, Girls und Panzer, and Military? GuP is really good. I even bought the prequel manga. I can't wait for the movie to get translated.
