However, Index took the story further. Personally, I liked Railgun better. I just wish they gave either show another 2 or so seasons. I'll have to pick up the light novels sometime. railgun gets pretty yuri and silly in season 1 and the second half of season 2, whereas index stays more serious, so i understand your preference there soul. i just prefer railgun because we get to see more of my favorite character in the show (misaka) and how she has to come to terms with and deal with a problem outside of her capability (the sisters). raildex aside i found this great beserk amv earlier, made my eyes water a bit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVQJ6Px15_4

Continuing with the re-watches:
So, I can't Play H! -- 5/10 May have scored this one higher the first time around, but upon further review I just didn't get any real sense of connection between Ryusoke and Lisara. In fact, none of the characters really stand out to me. Show does a great job with the childhood friend/romantic interest resolution at the end, however.
I Couldn't Become a Hero... -- 8/10 This show goes by in a flash. A solid blend of action, humor, ecchi and romance. Phino may very well be the cutest anime character I've ever seen; physical beauty, innocence, determination and kindness...the total package. Does a good job of building rival love interests without falling into harem trappings. Raul is pretty entertaining as an MC.

So if someone could give me a heads up that'd be appreciated. Neptune's game is supposed to be watched with the idea in mind that you know the setting and characters already. So I do suggest the games first - and they're quite the grind. I'd only recommend them to anime fans with patience lol
School Live could do many things and not seem completely dull. Remember there 'school trip?' that is creating content out of your scenario. What School Live is currently, or was doing, was taking the story, plot, development, and IGNORING THEM FOR MOE TIME.
The pool episode, besides the last few minutes, the only thing we learned is brown hair girl likes water guns... literally nothing but moe. And the show is progressed the same way - I thought moe was the design, not the concept, plot, and everything in-between.
Fate/Kalid - whose Mimi? lol
Non - Not my cup of tea. Slice of Life is one of my favorite genres, but usually if it comes accompanied with some sort of progressive between characters.
Himouto! - Now this is a real moe show that doesn't hide what it is and banks on itself over and over. But the nice part of this is how it's mixed up between moe - and SUPER MOE. But like most moe shows - this one is grinding due to lack of character development or loop-sided-devolopment between side casts. |

Fate/K - The latest episode ending is worthy of mention, entering the show into a new high point.
It's just very interesting how it intertwines with the FSZ and FSN story lines - in this universe, FSZ successfully ends the Holy Grail Wars, so FSN never happens, instead, we get FKI. That's probably why the used the FSN heroes for the cards each time.
And now with how this episode ending being the very thing this man always wanted - I can't wait for next week. |

The loli Misaka also has it's own special name, but I can't remember it right now. Also, there aren't a gazillion of them. Based on how many were made, and how many Accelerator killed, there are about 10,000 Misakas. You know what that means?

Spent the weekend re-watching yet more shows.
High School DxD -- 7/10 Animation has a muted look to it and Issei's voice sounds odd. Show is a bit formulaic in terms of the harem aspects but the overall plot moves forward at a rapid pace. Also does a good job of hinting at the potential larger conflicts looming on the horizon.
High School DxD Next -- 8/10 Animation is much sharper/colorful this time around. The danger is ever-present this time around with less time having to be spent on character backstories. It's interesting to go back and see just how this show has introduced the underlying friction that Issei's presence is causing and how it will continue to play out in the future. Re-watching it you also get a greater sense of what drives Issei as a character: for all the talk of becoming a harem king and enjoying the attention of so many beautiful (and willing) women around him, it becomes more and more apparent how deeply he's been traumatized by Yuma, his first love. The show manages to maintain a lighthearted tone on the surface while steadily growing darker and darker underneath. A definite improvement over a strong first season.
I Don't Have Many Friends (Both seasons) -- 7/10 An entertaining look at the complicated relationships that develop amongst people without friends. Enjoyed Sena's character again but Rika's character really stood out to me this time around; initially presented as the sex-crazed comic relief, the show subtly presents her as the heart and soul of the club and, most importantly, the one most aware of what's transpiring around her as the competition for Kodaka's affection comes to the forefront...and why Kodaka responds the way he does. A bit too many throw-away episodes for my liking, but I've come to appreciate the ending. Whereas I previously criticized the open-endedness in my initial review, I've changed my mind about it and praise it as a satisfying closure. The ending hints at Kodaka responding to Sena's confession while also showing that Rika and Yukimori have accepted this fact and seek to keep the club going out of their love for the friendships that the club has created. It is fitting, then, that Yozura takes her leave as she never shows that she has moved on from the events of ten years prior...while also hinting that she's maturing into a person that is capable of trusting others, and may return to the club in the future.

Yuri Seijin Naoko-San: What did I just watch? In all honestly this was really funny, and I enjoyed every minute of it. All 6 of them. Yea, did I mention this is only 6 minutes long? You now have absolutely no excuse to not watch it.
Yuri Seijin Naoko-San (2012): I don't think I understood this one....... I'd definitely say the first OVA was better. It's the same tone, comdedy, and feel of the first OVA, but since I think the show was definitely better in the shorter format. Oh, but this one has one of the best openings I've ever seen.

High School DxD Born -- 8/10 Another strong showing. Asia steals the spotlight in this season as she becomes the heart and soul of the team; Loki emerges as an incredible villain thanks to his scheming in the face of defeat and ability to cause trouble while imprisoned. This season continues to play up the inevitable break-up of the group as Rias and Akeno become more aggressive in their pursuit of Issei, while the viewer is told flat-out that Issei intends to break free from his servant role in the future, and will be followed by Asia and Xenovia. Plenty of potential storylines are left open (particularly with Vali's group) so there is the potential for the show to continue in the future. Should this happen, the show should shift the focus away from Issei and instead focus on Rias' attempts to keep her household together as that's where the true drama lies.

Rewind Review Ladies vs Butlers! -- 3/10 It's really hard to get used to the animation in this show; the characters really aren't attractive due to the fact that they all look like aliens (a result of weirdly colored eyes and the fact that their noses aren't drawn unless they turn their heads.) The show spends almost all of its time building up a harem for the MC, but he remains oblivious to it all up through the end. The show centers around the rivalry between two girls, one of whom is your stereotypical tsundere while the other is practically unlikeable. Show is also packed with gratuitous ecchi/nudity that serves no purpose.

This thread seems oddly dead. I think there's only been 1 page worth of posts in the last few days. Anyway.....
Little Witch Academia: Think Harry Potter, but a more interesting world. The animation on his was just stellar, and while the story might not have been the most original, the execution was good. Did I mention how good the animation was? Because it was. Trigger has always had an interesting style, but I think this is their best work.
Little Witch Academia The Enchanted Parade: Oddly enough, my opinion on this is pretty much the same as my opinion on Yuri Seijin Naoko-San (2012). It was good, but the original was better in pretty much every way. I did enjoy this quite a bit though. My main complaint would be that they pretty much just shoved the first OVA under the rug.

I'm currently re-watching Love, Chun, and Other Delusions, in dub.
Full review coming later today on both seasons. And a comparison review to my first attempt to watching the Dub.
It seems i made a mistake on my out-look on the Dub. The female MC voice is DRAMATICALLY different in the Dub, and at first it made my ears bleed. Especially after hearing the dub after seeing the sub.
But I gave it another shot and realized something - they interrupted her differently. Like DBZ - instead of comedic, over moe voices, we got much more human and real voices, making the characters feel different then there japanese VA did.
It became very enjoyable eventually, and now i'm very fond of her voice. |

I don't like the characters, the design, or the setting. I do like the MC's 3 best friends - they're awesome.
But, given that, after episode 5 they introduced a loli devil - and everything after her is just pure hilarious lol
EDIT: Last episode made me laugh my head off, i love how she troll these annoying characters into doing what we want, haha. |

Out of every show this season, one has stood out for it's massive cast and interesting characters -
Castle Dandelion.
It's like the show took 9 different shows and shoved them into the same family and called 'em royalty.
And it works because of how interactive the cast is with each others lives and how well/interesting they interact.
While the show does keep to anime generics *Blonde loli idol, for example* its quick to show how it's setting and other casts differentiates itself from the rest of the shows.
The weakest part of the show originally was the setting - A modern day royalty setting - it's both awkward and weird. But the show plays it off masterfully imo, making the setting itself as interesting as the characters.
8.5/10 - I'd recommend this show only to anime fans. |

Seitokai Yakuindomo (Season 1)
8/10
Comedy/Ecchi/School Life
Takatoshi is a first year high school student at Osai Academy, becoming a member of the first group of boys to enroll in the school following the decision to make the academy co-ed. Takatoshi, however, only chose the school due to it being located close to the house he shares with his younger sister, Kotomi. His new life at school takes on an interesting twist the very first day of class as he finds himself suddenly named as the Vice President of the Student Council, serving alongside three girls--the beautiful and studious Shino, the rich and glamourous Aria and the pint-sized genius, Suzu. Though the girls of the school are apprehensive of the new boys, Takatoshi quickly finds out that it's the girls that are the perverted ones!
Comedy: Take Seinfeld's "a show about nothing" approach and mix in South Park's crude humor and you'll start to get an idea of how the show goes. Episodes are basically non-stop gag segments that detail Takatoshi's struggle to control the lewd and graphic conversations of Shino and Aria; he humbly takes everything in stride and resigns himself to the fact that girls (and women) can be far, far dirtier than any boy. One problem is that the jokes come at you so fast you'll have trouble reading the explanations/notes on screen before the next gag arrives. That said, plenty of lol-worthy moments abound.
Ecchi: Considering the fact that one character references anal ************ early in the very first episode, you should realize what level of ecchi-style humor you can expect. Most everything in the show relates to sex (mainly as a result of Shino and Aria's double entendre-heavy dialog) and is done entirely for comedic effect. Actual ecchi is limited and no nudity is shown.
School Life: Season 1 covers Takatoshi's first year of high school. Expect the usual summer vacation at the beach/holiday/festival episodes to go along with day-to-day life as a student. Surprisingly, the show only mildly hints at any sort of romantic relationships developing for Takatoshi over the course of the year.
Overall, a surprisingly funny show that you'll be afraid to take your eyes off of for fear of missing a joke. Pretty much nothing is taboo.
Verdict: A great comedy if you aren't easily offended (the anal ************ joke is relatively mild by the standards of the show.) Highly recommended.
For the Record: Not really a harem show, but Shino is an awesome character.

Seitokai Yakuindomo (Season 2)
6/10
Comedy/Ecchi/School Life/Romance
Basically more of the same: non-stop gags thrown together with very little happening in terms of actual plot. Time seems to jump around in the second season and nothing is mentioned of the fact that, following their second year together, Shino and Aria will be graduating and leaving Takatoshi and Suzu behind. Instead, the show continues the very, very slow introduction of romance into the picture as Takatoshi finds himself with several admirers.
Verdict: Watchable, but a bit tiring after watching the first season.
