We are very proud of what weGÇÖve learned and accomplished with DUST 514 on PlayStation 3 over the past three years and it is an honor to be a part of such a dedicated community. We consider DUST 514 one of the best free-to-play offerings on the platform, but the years have caught up with us. It is with a heavy heart that we inform you that DUST 514 will be shutting down on May 30th, 2016. We therefore will not be releasing the 1.3 update as we had planned. Players will continue to be able to play for free on our servers until then, but all further PSN packs and purchases have been removed and disabled from the in-game marketplace and the PlayStation Store. Players with existing Aurum will be able to continue to purchase items from the in-game marketplace.

Thank you for being a part of DUST 514 on the PlayStation 3. We look forward to the next chapter, and hope youGÇÖll be a part of it and continue the journey with us.

That was #1 on my list for playing the game. It made it fully immersive for me. So far there is NOTHING out there that I have found to be a replacement and I'll admit I have become depressed and lost interest in all other games. I've tried many of the biggest FPS games and I hate them all. I got into World Of Tanks for a short time but they killed it by keeping players strictly against players in their rank. One thing that made Dust better was that you were thrown into a battle field with no segregation. Noobs verses veterans and no forgiveness for it. While everyone is focused on the objective, I'm the kamikaze hitting your installations like a cockroach.

It looks beautiful, AAAaaand it can get all the fat and trimmings that the game needs with PC, but if it plays like COD I'm out. Team Fortress 2 is the single most successful shooter out there and available for PC (hintity hint hint CCP) and the teamwork aspect is very similar to Dust514. (support, heavy, sniper, ect.) As for how they are doing different suit setups, from What I saw of the Videos, I see more of an equipment based solution. The rather confusing mix of different tiered gear, cpu/pg, slots, and appropriate skills seen in dust is what drove a lot of new players away and set up the dev team to constantly tweak 20 things when one thing was changed. (which is what I think CCP Rattati meant when he said "get away from the MMO aspect" I.e. Get away from how eve sets up ships) That doesn't mean I don't want customization, but keeping it simple means they can focus on adding more content while relieving headaches. As a side note to the 6v6 and lack of levels ect., (Fiend, this is for you), it was a DEMO!!! For a DEMO, it looked fantastic. Can't wait to see more and here's to hoping for a good game. Millions of console players didn't bother with a no meta locked/no tier match making game, it was pro's vs noobs most of the time so the noobs didn't bother to stick around, after getting stomped for like the 10th time in a row, I cant tell you how many times I had seen noobs go 0 and 8 or 0 and 13 for the most part, don't get me wrong we got 1 in 25k console players to stay, out side of the eve fans. Then really every two bit DDOS'er out there getting good players kicked from matches they want to win, Oh cant forget about the hacked PS3 OS's emulator running on some Linux or Windows based PC somewhere bugged to hell but still playable with aimbot's in hand! Many of us are console only, lacking the funds for a high-end PC to be able to check it out. I am currently in the process of evacuating the remaining members of my Corp to other games in the search for an interim home for the organization. Many have expressed anger at the move by going AWOL and vowing to never again use CCP's product (I argued against this, as did my Officer Council, as there is a chance for a port to console). In closing, I must say that even though the effort has now been wasted in a certain light, in another building INTERSTELLAR TEMPLARS from just myself and Phelan Atlan to a multinational, fully combat trained and coordinated army in just over two years has been satisfying. I do not feel that my time and all the training my Templars completed has been wasted. Indeed, our lives have all been enriched by it among my Templars and our friends in the Project David channel. I do hate to see it end though. You'd think CCP would have one hamster to spare for us poor console mercs, lol. o7 all, It has been my honor to serve with and war with you all. HONOR AND GLORY!!!!

It was loads fun while it lasted! Despite all that, it was actually among the best FPS experiences in my 20+ gaming years and will be sad to see it close. The graphics were good, but the gameplay was shit.
