I know... why don't we all go to EVE :)))) ))) ))
Who knows what's going to happen. 20 or so days till Fanfest. Meanwhile, I'm losing (half) my Dropships, just in case... but seriously. What a great game. That's the problem. It's 'too' damn good. Apart from some unforeseen bugs, that were too deep to redress. Now, for some speculation... or ideas.
First of all, continuity. Would you guys like to see Dust... whatever it's called, go on to PS4, 'even if', in 5 or 6 years time, at the end of the PS4's life cycle, we had to start again... on PS5... or would you like the option of continuity on Windows
Secondly. Eve. Teamwork, backstabbing, treachery, rage, betrayal... and that's just me! But really, if you 'loved' the politics of Dust, the teamwork, the loyalty, the alliances and organisation of hundreds of people, you will Love Eve. From what I personally felt, Dust was 'just like Eve' on the political front... on turbo. It's no FPS, but you'll find shizzle that's too damn familiar once you start playing. I really wish there were a whole bunch of Dust Players banded together to bring it to the jaded Eve online players. (Major war going on right now. Read Evenews24 for biased... and free to be biased, articles, open to everyone. Including you.)
Next... Linking the two. This has been the best part of Dust. I once dreaded it, but then I welcomed it with the deep desire that had inspired the developers to start on their endevour. I know most of you were Playstation players that got hooked on Dust. I personally heard, from many of you, you didn't even like shooters, but you loved the tactical team aspect of Dust. I know it's hard to move to another system, but believe me, we are making the Eve players more and more jealous as each day passes by how great Dust is.
So what happens? Do we split the community by launching on mulitple platforms, cutting off Eve and Dust, or bring it all together and hope that the 'Dust Players' follow. I'm secretly hoping Steambox (Cheap!... with controllers) is the ultimate reveal at Fanfest, but remember, this is all speculation. All I know is, I bought a PS3 for Dust. I changed my priority from Eve 'TO' Dust, amazed at how good it is, but I already miss the guys that have stopped playing. I hope too see you all again.
Again, if you like the politics of what happened in Dust, play Eve. Join together. We can even use the forums to start an alliance of Dust players. I can't wait for 'any' form of Dust to re-emerge, wherever it goes. Remember, this is all speculation. If any of you guys are recruiting Dust players. Please, do it right here.
See you at Fanfest... and I welcome the tomatoes I'm about to get thrown at me, but I want to know, are you a Dust Fanboy, or a Sony one? o7
ps. Thanks for flooding my router, you hackers. I'll even miss you. |
