So I finally dumped SP into the Myofibrils, and nearly died laughing when I punched a Nova Knife scout to death. Does fitting a Kin Cat give a higher jump?

So I don't need to dump SP into KinCats in the hopeless attempt to gain more height for a jump fit? Great to hear.

Back when I was still starting out with Georgia, when the amarr had the 2/3 slot layout, I was in an ambush match getting stomped so I tried to escape and hit the enemy from behind but I was chased away by a pro Amarr sentinel with 700 armour but was sprinting much faster than any normal heavy which scared me sh*tless. Later I found out about kincats and invested sp into it as well as cardiacs. Now I have become what I once feared

I think it was in that thread where he was talking about changing Logi and Assault speeds.

My preferred loadouts by race:
Amarr: Damage mod, 2 plates, 2 reps. Never quad plate unless you're camping with a pet logi. You will want the reps because your slow ass will be mostly, if not fully recovered by the time you waddle across the street.
Minmatar: Hot rack 3 damage mods, drop a kincat and a cardiac regulator (sure your stamina regenerates, but this way you can keep up with the assaults) OR 2 extenders, 1 recharger, a rep and a kincat. Depends on the job, and the enemy. if the bads are rocking a lot of viziams you're screwed no matter what you do.
Gallente: This one I'm still tooling around with, it's the hardest and yet easiest all at once. easy to just make a fit, but hard to tweak a fit tailored to yourself. I usually drop two damage mods, a plate and two reps.
Caldari: Vehicle hunter: 3 damage mods, 1 energizer, 1 regulator HMG: 3 extenders, energizer, regulator
Trust me, screw the plates, screw the armor reps, drop a goddamn regulator in the lows. Recharge delay at less than two seconds and around 60/sec recovery and you're sustainable. more importantly you will recover from depleted shields IN ABOUT HALF A SECOND and begin regenerating. The regulator trumps all armor mods forever.

Unlike most weapons in the game, the forge gun is NOT hitscan. You actually have to learn to lead the target.Use the assault, because if you miss, you might hit them with the splash damage if you're aiming low.
Nevermind the comedy that happens when you shoot one and kill his two buddies stacked next to him behind a blind corner.

Energizers penalize your shield HP by 6%.
If you're going to stack regen use rechargers. Never use more than two energizers. ever. In fact the only time you should ever use an energizer is if you confirm NO ONE is using a laser profile weapon on the enemy team, PERIOD.

std amarr sentinel std rail rifle std breach SMG 2 PRO damps 1 PRO rep 1 M1 grenade kador skin equipped (fools enemies into thinking I am a proto sentinel sometimes, scares enemies, can make them flee or be less aggressive, it can also make them super aggressive as well)
adv amarr sentinel adv burst HMG std magsec SMG M1 grenade 3 PRO damps (27 scan profile) 1 krins damage mod or 1 PRO precision mod kador skin equipped
adv amarr sentinel 3 PRO reps std AHMG std magsec SMG 1 krins damage mod M1 grenades
PRO amarr sentinel PRO HMG PRO magsec SMG Core grenades 1 PRO rep 2 PRO kinkats 1 plate or reactive plate kador skin sometimes
the kador skin is especially useful because it makes it harder for enemies to tell if you are a sentinel or commando, it makes you seem unpredictable because the enemy cant predict your weapon usage as easily.

<--- Amarr sentinel since Chromosome. Also lvl 5 Caldari sentinel. Maxed out HMG & Forge although I never used the HMG until a month into Uprising.
Fox Gaden wrote:Here are a few things worth discussing:
- Amarr and Gallente heavy weapons using place holders. What should they be, and what art assets in game now could be reskinned to act as a place holder for them?
- Is the Plasma Cannon the medium frame counter to Sentinels? Does it work well enough for them to stop crying when they canGÇÖt take us 1v1 at 10m with a rifle? Ok, some will always cry, but can we use the Plasma Cannon as a counter argument?
- If we had a mid range HMG (or Heavy Laser) would the range reduction to the normal HMG be acceptable? How much do you notice the range reduction to the HMG? Was there an effective range reduction, or did the range reduction simply reduce the range on paper to what the actual range due to dispersion actually was?
Would love a medium range Amarr heavy laser to work as a wide solid beam. 1 second charge and overheat after 4 seconds with 3 second cooldown. High damage that is maintained from 15-70m with an immediate drop off thereafter. Reskinned forge gun firing an enlarge Laser rifle beam perhaps?
Gallente heavy weapon to be some kind of plasma ball launcher. Slight charge time (0.3 seconds), spits out a super heated ball of plasma which does ~500 direct damage & ~80 splash in a 3m radius from impact point. Fire rate around 60/min. Half the projectile range of the plasma cannon with 1.5x faster travelling projectile. Reskinned HMG firing a recoloured forge gun bolt perhaps?
Plasma cannon is very effective against Sentinels. Extremely high alpha and equipped on suits that are highly mobile and impossible to detect for a Sentinel unless looking straight at them... as if you should be running head on at a sentinel. That said, team/squad shared scans are OP.
Range reduction is not so much of an issue on the standard and burst HMG's as they are intended to be lethal in close quarters. The pitiful damage and/or the rapid heat build up is a problem IMO. The burst is useless if 2-3 guys are coming at you and one of them is a sentinel. The standard variant HMG is outclassed by the AHMG at any range in a face to face, blast each others face until one of you drops confrontation.

I also added you to the Registry. The Amarr Sent is finally pulling ahead of Min and Cal. Still more Gallente Sentinels by a large margin.
Dampener skill makes it so a Sentinel is safe from base Sentinel and Commando scans, but everything else can see you a mile out. Stacking Dampeners can give a decently low profile but you have to sacrifice a lot of tank to do so.
Upping the Precision skill lets you pick up unmodded Assaults and Logi, as well as Sentinel and Commando. You still need to be close though.

The standard variant HMG is outclassed by the AHMG at any range in a face to face, blast each others face until one of you drops confrontation. The damage on the normal HMG may have been nerfed a bit to much, but not enough to break it. The HMG is still an effective weapon in the right situation.
To use the Burst HMG against multiple targets you have to repeatedly switch between your Burst HMG and your sidearm in the middle of the fight. Generally 3 bursts and switch, use your sidearm for a few seconds and switch back to your Burst HMG. It takes practice to get used to it, but it can be quite effective.
At 10m I am fairly sure the normal HMG will still beat the Assault HMG, but at 25m the Assault definitely starts to have the advantage. When using the Assault HMG I often find just backing up a few feet makes a big difference. If you are the one with the normal HMG, back around a corner and make them come to you.
Also, in any HMG vs HMG fight, they guy shooting his enemy in the head always wins.
