Nobody cares about cod. Dust with missions I care about and so what if it starts as based off something else. We've got an agent, now we're gonna have missions, it's like maybe a step away from having agents that you get missions from and maybe some kind of career based paths with different missions based on your role, and thats an EVE thing so sit back and rejoice |

Now that we've got most the stats on our suit on the fitting screen, could we get a weapon fitting screen added?
Show the effect of damage mods, suit skills (Assaults and Commandos), and weapon skills.
If you find an issue and I stumble upon your thread, I will do my darnedest to get the issue known.

i used to go around setting uplinks with remote mines on them. Cant do that anymore. Used to go around delivering triage nanohives to the front line. Cant do that anymore. Everyone else gets to play their role and deploy a bit of equipment an d switch between other roles with no bandwidth.
And what was the problem? Spam? You mean people that drop 50 manohives at a supply depot? Thats not what i was doing. What about all the tryhard PC obsessed players? Are they still able to carry 1 uplink/nanohive in on their favorite proto suit? 6 players each bringing one nanohive is more destructive than the 3 that im restricted to now.
So congradulations, you gutted my role as a dedicated logi while still enabling those who cannibalize my role. You should atleast have the decency to give a free respec to anyone who is a dedicated logi. Im ruined, i got nothing left. I made my living delivering equipment and setting traps. Im a solo player what am i supposed to do now?

This is a well-constructed argument. In the week or two following the release of 1.10 see if you can adapt, and if not, then find the Bandwidth feedback threads and post your argument again, augmented by the personal experience with the new system you have earned in the field.
I think you make some good points, and I think the Bandwidth system will have to be tweaked again before they get it right. Just because it is going live in its current form does not mean those stats are final in the long term.
Bandwidth is not intended as an overall nerf to Logi. If it ends up making Logi less viable compared to other suits, then the system will be tweaked accordingly.
DonGÇÖt give up hope for your class. Help guide Rattati to the light.

Agreed. Overall it's going to be a plus. It may need tweaking, but there is a ton of potential for benefit to dedicated logi's.

Read the missions in the image. Calling these GÇ£missionsGÇ¥ might be overstating what they are a little bit. They are more like GÇ£challengesGÇ¥. But still a good step in the right direction.
I see the "missions" and "salvage" as trying to emulate the Gameplay experience they intend for Legion, in DUST, as best they can given DUST's current limiting structure.

I'm assuming the second, which I feel would make the close range passive scans as pointless as the base numbers suggest.
Currently, I'm loving most things in this set of patch notes, but the Close scans are almost pointless except for Scouts. Even a Logi with RA5 (7.5) and three CxRAs (@45%: 18.88) will still have a pretty meh scan range: a shotgun scout covers that distance in a second before blowing your head off anyway. I think it's a great step, its just that the only viable EWar suits look to be Scouts, with the occasional Logi working - an Assault or Commando with 3 CxRA (15.11) has about a second to react to a scout, assuming they aren't dampened mildly, costing you even more slots.
Essentially, I estimate little change happening except that some EWar Scouts will pick up some other Scouts and that everyone will pick up Heavies from further away: the fitting sacrifice to get a half decent Close range is enormous, and the fitting to get a still bad Normal precision is enormous (and won't change.)
I think it's a good step, but the scans will only tell you what you already know: that you've either already been engaged, or murdered, by someone. The penalty to far range scans mean you'll almost never pick up anything but heavies.

Im pretty skeptical. The ideologies are too conflicting. The concept of bandwidth is to limit deployed equipment, but as a good logi, I see that as limits to what I can do. If all my bandwith is locked up in my uplink with a remote mine in top, how am I going to put proxys down? Its like I have 3 choices:
-Place my uplinks and REs as i usually do, and do nothing about the unguarded rear of the bridge, which a HAV or LAV will certainly roll up on
-Decide to place the proxy mines and forfeit the "elastic front line" I had just set up
-Carry both proxies and my uplink gear, but have significantly less of both and consequently, do a half assed job on both parts that doesnt really get anything done or is not nearly as effective.
Right now, my only limits are time and enemy fire. If I cant beat both I can deploy a reinforced supply chain that is durable enough to withstand setbacks. After this patch thats prettymuch over. Everyones solution is prettymuch to just "rep and repair". But that takes away from me developping my own strategies and just leads to me propping up someone elses operation. I play almost exclusively solo. |

ill still be dropping good spawns, and hives wherever they are needed. seriously, lets calm down. its abit early to complain about changes that havnt been implemented yet. also, if you spec into them, you can drop less, and get the same amount of work done. for example, 1 hive from my caldari logi is worth almost 2 of the same dropped by another suit. same thing with my ammar logi, and links. And, to be honest, the only people who dont complain about lag are the AFKers. You don't have to be shooting to feel its effects, especially when it gets bad.

As a dedicated Logi, I think you're being overly dramatic. Sure I have droplink suits, and nanohive suits. And I'll still be able to use them. When I drop the gear, it won't pop just because I switch to a different logi suit, it will only pop when I exceed the bandwidth of that suit. So, I can still run around and drop links, switch to my general usage suit and still rep, scan, repair... whatever.
Let's see how it plays out before you rage. |
