I'm an ADS pilot and I kindof like the presence of missile installations. Personally, I think there should be an AA variant of normal missile turrets that have little splash but that kind of range.

I believe CCP is already onto this- take the Gallente Research Facility, for instance. I've driven through there often enough to know that infantry combat is pretty well separated from vehicles there, yet vehicle control in the streets still helps.
