Look, at worst what you have after this is a role you weren't initially intending to fill. However, that just means you have points in a suit that will eventually be getting bonuses for its intended support role, making you a more diverse asset for your Corporation. |

Players "wasted" SP to bandwagon on the next OP item. First it was the TAR, then it was the cal-logi's super shields, now its the flaylock. It was the player's fault for investing SP with the intention to exploit an item. Exploit. How is using an item, the way the game designers put it into the game an exploit? Obviously the game designers themselves did not think it was overpowered, or else they wouldn't have put it in the game that way. The designers didn't deem it OP, the forums did. And to call it an exploit is completely incorrect. The players specced into it for the qualities it had at the time. CCP doesn't immediately come out and say(or refute) that "HEY these items are too good! Don't spec into them!" No. CCP just changes them without any real communication to the players. Imagine a newbro, never heard of these forums sees the flaylocks in action and spends his whole first month of playin to get proto flaylocks. Hes gets them. He loves them. THEN the next day the nerf comes. His flaylocks been nerfed to absolute garbage. He then proceeds to curse at the game, point out its flaws, and leaves. Deletes dust off his console. Similar situations to this story have happend thousands of time on dust. Every FPS Developer ALWAYS changes stats for balancing purposes. You people need to grow up. No player with real skills need to hear that your clutch suit and gun got nerfed so your going to leave with your BFF. Every FPS developer doesn't hav an SP system to unlock things taking months & months for progress, and i never used the flaylock, it was an example, my problem is exactly what ive said in the OP, that is players are getting screwed over because of sudden nerfs and changes to thier SP paths that CCP magically pull out of thier bunghole once a helluva people are specced into them, and because they feel so devalued, with no chance of redemption (respec) theyre quitting |

That's horseshit. There is a game called BF3, and in this game there was a gun called the USAS-12( U SUK AT SHOOTING) which was nerfed through the earth. The dev never provided a means for players to adapt to the changes of that gun. Did you know what happened? It was never used again, and the only time you did see that gun, a SKILLED player was using it.
Why doesn't anyone wait until this game has all the content patched in as well as stats balanced. Is CCP really supposed to give out respec's everytime they make miniscule changes like this?
These things happen to every game, and the minute MR. KDR thinks they can't adapt because the upcoming changes aren't going to make him godly anymore, he jumps to the forums to cry and say he's leaving.
I play Amarr and the changes to the logistics suit had me reevaluate what I was going to have to give up. Now most of my modules have to be basic/advanced if I want to add a sidearm and a 3rd equipment. The extra PG doesn't help either. Yeah yeah the Amarr got a much needed buff, but caldari had to be nerfed somehow along with the flaylock and TAC AR. Those 3 set ups were god mode and you can't deny that. |

We're constantly ignored as people like you troll the forums posting your opinion over & over. How many times have you denied people asking for respecs today? I've seen you on just about every respec thread being a complete Ahole
Oddly enough I've never cried for a nerf, but yes, I DO feel strongly about respecs. Yes, if you keep making threads on it I'll likely show up. And yes, I'll continue to argue against them. I don't think they have a purpose here and I think they ruin our progression system. I have yet to see an argument against that, only claims that people will get bored and leave or that people shouldn't train with balance in mind. Personally I think FOTM chasing needs to end as soon as possible. Denying respecs is a strong step towards that.
I think I've been rather fair and tempered with most of my posts, but if it's being an a-hole, so be it. You are not the only one passionate here. |

See, your wrong again and pulling the old "SP" card out. Every FPS shooter nowadays has some type of grind to unlock something, the only difference in dust is you spend SP to get that particular item. It may not be as long as dust but there is still a grind.
So......what was that about comparison?

In dust, grinding a weapon requires 2 weeks of capping w/ boosters on, that SP takes MONEY & TIME. Not only this but that SP choice will affect you throughout your entire gameplay experience and become a key part of your playing style for the entire time you play,EG effecting battlefield strategys and your SP path,in battlefield you get that gun to be useless who cares YOU'VE ALREADY UNLOCKED EVERYTHING IN THE GAME IN A MONTH. Comparing the 2 is completely ridiculous. |

When i started this game i thought it was full of bs, it had way too long grinding times, it had bugs up the wazoo, and the game itself simply was not as fun as other shooters, the only reason i stayed was because i sold most of my games and didnt have an FPS. I now hear the exact same complaints from the guys in team chat that quit after a day. And yes those vets HAVE left, not only do i know around 40-50 people that i use to squad with that havent even turned dust on in the last....mm around a month id say? Mainly since the new build, but the ACTUAL PLAYER NUMBERS are dropping. Take a look. We've went from 9000+ at the start of the build to around 5000 now. The stats are undeniable. |

That's exactly my point. Every time CCP makes changes to balance the game people are going to come back to these forums and QQ about it saying CCP is bunch of $#!+ dev. I say wait until everything is fixed, all content is in and then ask for respecs. Right now asking for respecs because of 1 suit is ridiculous. |

When aren't people complaining about something on a forum? This isn't my first video game forum and I can assure you that everyone is always going to cry about something, nerf, buff or otherwise. At the same time, I think respecs should be about something regarding developer error, removal of a game mechanic, or like Uprising, a complete revamp. I doubt the current system we have now is going to be the end all be all, and we'll see another respec in the future, whether people are against it or not.

Most people i know left this game PRIMARILY because at launch the SP requirements were so high they couldn't skill into what they had before. I knew an eve player that quit because overnight the SP requirements for his shield modules went from 4 to 5. He didnt know that it was a "fix" and didnt care. in thier minds CCP was devaluing our SP, our game time, our work. Others quit because literally the stats and bonuses of items they specced into, using SP they paid money for boosters to get, were literally changed. Without thier consent, and of course, without a respec option.
So they quit. End of story. The games bazillion inherent flaws were just icing on the cake causing them to leave. CCP you have nerfed into oblivion countless things, and caused Most of the people that play this game to simply quit to stop taking your BS, and BS of QQers on these forums.
I have no doubt you will not provide a respecs in the near future. And because of this, even more of the tiny playerbase is going to leave. The game will die.
I suggest a respec, and do it quick, despite what the trolls on these forums say, because otherwise i literally cannot see dust recovering from its current situation.
Me? Ya im one of the most active players on this game. Got 15million SP. Guess what? No respec? Then im gone too. And i know a HELL of a lot of your most active players & vets thinking the same thing as me, well the ones that didnt quit in the last few weeks of course.
CCP you've listed to the loudest whiners on the forums for awhile now. Look wheres it gotten ya.
Do something and do it quick. Cus your playerbase sure as hell aint happy.
Actually, these changes make the player base happy if you think about it. The tiny minority that skilled into OP weapons/suit/whatever are upset at these changes because they take away their advantage. Everyone else - the majority - is happy that the game is now better balanced.
So no, the player base isn't up in arms about this. Just you and people like you. Everyone else is celebrating. |

You wouldn't last a second in PC against some of the opponents I've faced as part of PFBHz and TP. You cannot say you don't need proto gear in this game, not when you're opponents are rocking all proto and playing as hard as they can. your comments make you look like a POS ... who are you to say who is and isn't good.... and why would you feel the need to pull that card even if its true? shame on you.... everything you say now is invalid imo cause you seem like an elitist and a bully.... I have no time for either...
I run nothing more then militia in instant battle, and if you suck at aiming(proto or no proto), my standard SR with 2 complex dmg mods will make short work of you. It's not the suit that gives you skill. It's good hand eye coordination and reaction speeds that give you skill. So in short, if anyone is complaining about the Caldari nerf, they were using a crutch to make themselves feel like they had skill.
The only time I have problems with proto players is when that 1v1 turns into 1v3, because you know how they like to stick together in fear of losing their precious 150k suits.

Thewhole thing about it is that people are wanting respecs because CCP said theyre rebalancing things.
A.) ALL LOGIS are getting different bonuses in the future, its not just the problem ones. The shield regulator bonus on a Caldari Logi effectively reduces the delay to next to nothing allowing quick recovery instead of endless tank, something more attributed to the Assault, hence the change.
B') The rebalance on contact grenades and flaylocks hasnt even been mentioned yet, so why ask for a respec before you even know what the hell is happening?
C.) Balance passes make the game just that - more balanced. Your playstyle might change a little but inevitably itsnot going to be more or less powerful than any others, ex Caldari Logi being the ONLY suit to have an HP gain attributed to it despite being a support class.
The only valid reason for a respec is players not being able to try things before they drop SP into them, and there are other waysto handle this:
- Better info on Show Info tabs - Militia variants for ALL weapons - An area to test fittings, ex: The Weapons Lab which CCP has previously announced - A test server which is limited on content/play area so people still play the real game.
Demanding a respec simply because theyre changing your playstyle isnt a good thing, in fact its unhealthy for the game as it removes lasting decision-making, worthwhile investment and completely negates specialization. Whining has nothing to do with it, the Caldari Logi was insanely powerful and not being used forits intended purpose as players were running Assault Logis, hence the terminology.
In the future, all Logis will be changed to provide bonusesto their gear - which CCP has stated. This is important for them to be played for their intended purpose, which is support.
This is just something youre going tohaveto get used to. Instead of demanding a respec, why not suggest changes youd find appealing? |

Yeah cus the chorus of whining about the cal Logi to be nerfed was so soft and mellow.
Note: i have never played cal logi...and i think they should be allowed a respec. |

Did I stop? No. So yea, it does appeal to newbros. How could you say something so ignorant? It takes some fortitude to keep going against you "vets" who decide to pick on newbies who come out in the militia default fits and run across you proto pub stomping "vets" who are complaining about a "broken" game that yall demand change from with threats to leave. what a mind eff.
You are certainly most welcome to your opinion. But to take such an arrogant stance on the matter is absolutely absurd sir. I am appalled by your sentiments. Vets been saying they are leaving for the longest. None of those bingo night players has left yet.
And you know what? Dust 514 keeps on trucking along...with or without the "vets". Heck, it's time for some new "vets". They are just around the corner.
Yea and you have an application that keeps track of that. Stop it. Stop it now. It's always one of you, either on forums or on youtube, defending to your last breath that the ACTUAL PLAYER NUMBERS are dropping. The whole irony of it all is that you guys talk poop all day in the forums. Fine. People enjoying Dust are still populating the servers.
You mercenaries have grown to become soft as daisy petals. Throw some dirt on it and stop being a Nancy.
Those same guys you chatted with would be the same guys I don't talk to. "Hey everybody is jumping off the bridge, including the vets...they must be on to something" LOL! Yea right, okay. Go right ahead. I will take the vets spot with no problem. I preferred a challenge. But if old men are willing to roll over and die...so be it, grandpapas. |

So....
You can spec into the next flavor of the month?
I do so love how those builds go.... |

There must be something in the water that makes every corp in defiance delusional. Player numbers are dropping whether you are willing to admit or not. The game is not growing and is already in a state of being stale player count wise.

Good players don't need prototype gear.
Also I am probably a different sort of player, I generally gravitate towards weapons that I feel better in use, for example my favorite type of sniper rifle in most games is generally the closest thing to a bolt action rifle they have because the way the function usually is a very peculiar. I just find it upsetting that they would go to lengths to nerf a sniper rifle to do less damage than some small caliber pistols in that game. As someone who played in squads with ZDubb when we were in PFBHz, I am going to stop you right there. ZDubb is anything but a bully. In fact whenever we had a random with us, he and his pal Spinner were always willing to help the random out.

Promethius Franklin wrote: Oddly enough I've never cried for a nerf, but yes, I DO feel strongly about respecs.
I'm not demanding a respec but one must also take in a person's progression. People can only use the information CCP provides and they plan their character accordingly, then CCP waits 3 months to deal with the issue and makes sweeping changes. So people not only have to use the information provided to them they must guess at any and all buff/nerfs which could easily crush all their progression. Things have NO MEANING when they are constantly changing.
What does warrant a respec? They've changed slot layout, PG/CPU, and racial bonuses. How far do they have to go? Maybe when they have established a stable system people can make informed choices which now, at best, are educated guesses? |
