Wasted SP = Waste time... and no one wants to feel their SP is wasted. A game that feels like youre wasting youre time is not fun and if a game isn't fun.. you end up with a playerbase as small as Dust. In before the "NO MOAR RESPECS EVAR" idiots come in here. Players "wasted" SP to bandwagon on the next OP item. First it was the TAR, then it was the cal-logi's super shields, now its the flaylock. It was the player's fault for investing SP with the intention to exploit an item. Exploit. How is using an item, the way the game designers put it into the game an exploit? Obviously the game designers themselves did not think it was overpowered, or else they wouldn't have put it in the game that way. The designers didn't deem it OP, the forums did. And to call it an exploit is completely incorrect. The players specced into it for the qualities it had at the time. CCP doesn't immediately come out and say(or refute) that "HEY these items are too good! Don't spec into them!" No. CCP just changes them without any real communication to the players. Imagine a newbro, never heard of these forums sees the flaylocks in action and spends his whole first month of playin to get proto flaylocks. Hes gets them. He loves them. THEN the next day the nerf comes. His flaylocks been nerfed to absolute garbage. He then proceeds to curse at the game, point out its flaws, and leaves. Deletes dust off his console. Similar situations to this story have happend thousands of time on dust.
Every FPS Developer ALWAYS changes stats for balancing purposes. You people need to grow up. The last respec was needed to because of a change in the skill tree. There is no change in the skill tree this time, only stats. So either stop the QQing and leave or MTFU. No player with real skills need to hear that your clutch suit and gun got nerfed so your going to leave with your BFF.

And every FPS developer has provided a means for players to adapt to the changes they make. In dust? You get complete silence from CCP and HTFU from the community.
That's horseshit. There is a game called BF3, and in this game there was a gun called the USAS-12( U SUK AT SHOOTING) which was nerfed through the earth. The dev never provided a means for players to adapt to the changes of that gun. Did you know what happened? It was never used again, and the only time you did see that gun, a SKILLED player was using it.
Why doesn't anyone wait until this game has all the content patched in as well as stats balanced. Is CCP really supposed to give out respec's everytime they make miniscule changes like this?
These things happen to every game, and the minute MR. KDR thinks they can't adapt because the upcoming changes aren't going to make him godly anymore, he jumps to the forums to cry and say he's leaving.
I play Amarr and the changes to the logistics suit had me reevaluate what I was going to have to give up. Now most of my modules have to be basic/advanced if I want to add a sidearm and a 3rd equipment. The extra PG doesn't help either. Yeah yeah the Amarr got a much needed buff, but caldari had to be nerfed somehow along with the flaylock and TAC AR. Those 3 set ups were god mode and you can't deny that. |

Did those players who use the gun grind for one month to be able to use ONLY THAT GUN? No? Well it is a bad comparison, isn't it.
See, your wrong again and pulling the old "SP" card out. Every FPS shooter nowadays has some type of grind to unlock something, the only difference in dust is you spend SP to get that particular item. It may not be as long as dust but there is still a grind.
So......what was that about comparison?

Cosgar wrote:Why not just wait until the next major build update? Skill tree needs work, as in making it into an actual skill tree and not linear SP sinks, and bonuses across the board are probably going to be addressed. It's only a matter of time.
That's exactly my point. Every time CCP makes changes to balance the game people are going to come back to these forums and QQ about it saying CCP is bunch of $#!+ dev. I say wait until everything is fixed, all content is in and then ask for respecs. Right now asking for respecs because of 1 suit is ridiculous. |

In Dust 514 I had just about every gun type, base suit, module, base vehicle, unlocked by week one after reset.
Good players don't need prototype gear.
Also I am probably a different sort of player, I generally gravitate towards weapons that I feel better in use, for example my favorite type of sniper rifle in most games is generally the closest thing to a bolt action rifle they have because the way the function usually is a very peculiar. I just find it upsetting that they would go to lengths to nerf a sniper rifle to do less damage than some small caliber pistols in that game. You literally have no ground to stand on with that argument IWS. You are a terrible player, and I have roflstomped you every single time I've played against you in instant battles. You wouldn't last a second in PC against some of the opponents I've faced as part of PFBHz and TP. You cannot say you don't need proto gear in this game, not when you're opponents are rocking all proto and playing as hard as they can. your comments make you look like a POS ... who are you to say who is and isn't good.... and why would you feel the need to pull that card even if its true? shame on you.... everything you say now is invalid imo cause you seem like an elitist and a bully.... I have no time for either...
I run nothing more then militia in instant battle, and if you suck at aiming(proto or no proto), my standard SR with 2 complex dmg mods will make short work of you. It's not the suit that gives you skill. It's good hand eye coordination and reaction speeds that give you skill. So in short, if anyone is complaining about the Caldari nerf, they were using a crutch to make themselves feel like they had skill.
The only time I have problems with proto players is when that 1v1 turns into 1v3, because you know how they like to stick together in fear of losing their precious 150k suits.
