Explain how you've wasted any SP? If this is about Logistics suits, the adjustments they're making are to try and let them perform their roles the way they were supposed to. |

You all realize that if you **** off the biggest long-time supporters of Dust, then Sony will notice and cut CCP off because they dont understand console gamers. There is plenty of bad press from noobs playing this game- imagine what bad press from hundreds of vets would do. If I were CCP, i'd listen to its core group who love this game and want it to succeed.
Do you honestly think Dust has ANY chance of competing with bf4 or destiny in it's current state?
Yet it's vets that are punishing new players the most with pubstomping. You doing your best to make damn sure you are dust's only lifeblood apparently. Is it so you can have a stranglehold over the devs like you seem to think you do now? Cause let me tell you, I won't play a game guided by that BS. You say love this game and want it to succeed but all I'm seeing is BS like the OP saying "we don't care what you want from this game, do it our way or we're out." Yeah, pretty much.
After all these years of people telling me NEVER to go into GD on the EVE Forums, I can see why just from being here. Jesus Christ. |

Explain how you've wasted any SP? If this is about Logistics suits, the adjustments they're making are to try and let them perform their roles the way they were supposed to. This is wasted SP because most of the Logi don't have any of those support skills armor rep tool nanite inject. None of that stuff. All that stuff costs SP to proto it up. Making it worthless. Oh well just means I can't help anybody else out now I have to spec just for me now. You guys think it's a great thing but in the end the people that will suffer the most is everybody else that depends on the Logi to uplink and drop ammo. It won't be there no more. How does having to spend SP on it make it worthless? And you also read that they're receiving bonuses for that equipment in the next build, right? One of which will likely be to fitting so that you can get them on the suit more easily?
Honestly, I'm looking forward to speccing back into running support. |

The last respec was needed to because of a change in the skill tree. There is no change in the skill tree this time, only stats. So either stop the QQing and leave or MTFU. No player with real skills need to hear that your clutch suit and gun got nerfed so your going to leave with your BFF.
And every FPS developer has provided a means for players to adapt to the changes they make. In dust? You get complete silence from CCP and HTFU from the community. Look, at worst what you have after this is a role you weren't initially intending to fill. However, that just means you have points in a suit that will eventually be getting bonuses for its intended support role, making you a more diverse asset for your Corporation. |

I believe this would allow CCP to actually have more freedom to perform balance adjustments in a meaningful way.
The only issue is that the respect system really has to be automated (and that would mean coding), so that it doesn't eat up a HUGE chunk of resources in dealing with the respects by hand.
I know a lot of people want to point their fingers at Cal Logis and go "HA HA", but quite frankly there is no reason to punish players for using the resources given to them to the best of their ability. It's so important that we move forward together as a community to improve this game.
For me that means Devs communicating to the community changes that they plan BEFORE they are locked in and giving those optional respecs (character or skill specific) to allow both the developers and the community the freedom to test and find the game balance that we are all looking for. The only CPM member with half a clue. Exactly. Very well written and an excellent point. I'm completely okay with offering respecs in categories whose gear has been adjusted.
I would figure that would be essential once the other Light and Heavy frame are released, since everyone has had to go Amarr just to play Heavies, or Gallente or Minmatar to play Light. The same goes for all races when it comes to only having Caldari and Gallente vehicles as well.
The only issue I could ever see would have been with offering a purchasable respec system, especially if it was only available via AURUM purchase. I don't think any of us want to see a game where you can just spam respec tokens so you don't ever have to put any thought into your skill decisions, or that you can pay to fix mistakes that free players can't. |
