Why not just wait until the next major build update? Skill tree needs work, as in making it into an actual skill tree and not linear SP sinks, and bonuses across the board are probably going to be addressed. It's only a matter of time. |

I say wait until everything is fixed, all content is in and then ask for respecs. Right now asking for respecs because of 1 suit is ridiculous. When aren't people complaining about something on a forum? This isn't my first video game forum and I can assure you that everyone is always going to cry about something, nerf, buff or otherwise. At the same time, I think respecs should be about something regarding developer error, removal of a game mechanic, or like Uprising, a complete revamp. I doubt the current system we have now is going to be the end all be all, and we'll see another respec in the future, whether people are against it or not.
THEAMAZING POTHEAD wrote:I definitely would agree, however i think we need a respec option sooner than later because many people are leaving, like nao- otherwise id say ya stick it out til all the major contents released and balance is good then do a final respec. Unfortunately this is all supposed to be SOON tm and players are fed up of waiting for things we've been promised since closed beta and still dont even have a rough timeframe on. I'm pretty sure people are leaving because of the season. Summer is always a huge downtime for the gaming industry. That's part of the reason why we see Steam, PSN, and XBL having huge sales this time of year. Why not wait until fall and get a more accurate look at average player retention. This isn't me being a fanboy, but a gamer that knows. |

once the vets playerbase is gone it's over, no decent player will continue to play a game if there is no competition left Your logic, all the decent players are nothing but elitist bandwagon jumpers with bad sportsmanship. I've seen communities like this ruin games because it's not about fun. I'd rather have a bunch of average, respectful players than the current self entitled virus we have, veteran or not. |

You're right, we should go play PS2 for a while and come back.... maybe. On a serious note, whether or not PS2 engage in the same practice it has no bearing on whether or not it is right for Dust 514. I think most players don't mind things being tweaked but CCP have made sweeping changes without much warning and have never clarified the respec policy. If they just came out tomorrow and said, "From now on we will only be offering SP for individual skills when those skills or core items associated with those skills are directly changed." then things wouldn't be so bad. As usual, it's a complete breakdown of communications that is at the heart of the issues with player-dev relations. So, everyone butthurt about grinding should go play a game that has even more grinding? |
