There are a lot of changes going on with DUST 514. The Uprising 1.2 expansion is coming soon and will bring a number of fixes, such as adjustments to weapon ranges, ISK transfers, and more. Additionally, there are changes coming to our development cycle which will allow us to more rapidly respond to your concerns and improve the core gameplay of DUST. In this new dev blog, CCP Praetorian discusses what's coming in 1.2, what we're focusing on in the near future, and how we'll deliver it to you in the coming months. I dunno what you're talking about. It totally says ARs. Or will in 5 minutes when the blog cache resets.

Prediction:
--Commandos will help with the LAV spam with SLs in their secondary. Which SHOULD mean that they can help keep the field safer for slower (armor oriented) players.
--Damage mods will be nice for these guys because they will apply to two weapons at once. And have some crazy combos like complex MOD scrambler & MD or AR and shotty...curious about an equipment slot...might hurt to have 2 light weapons and no nanohives. Plus dual light weapons means dual light weapons PG/CPU requirements. |

Less HP than a heavy dropsuit. Which would make sense. Why would it be fair to have something that has the HP of a heavy, nearly the speed of an assault, and dual light weapons? Why would anyone use the assault or heavy anymore? |

We're aiming to provide numbers on the Commando dropsuit, weapon ranges, and new mods in the near future. The Commando Dropsuit blog is mostly finished, but the other two are still being worked on so I can't give an exact timeframe for them. |

Well, we already know about the armor plates, and given the values we pulled form the video, we know that they will be more beneficial to shield tankers than armor tankers.
Adding yet another module for shields, which from the sounds of it would be a resistance mod is crazy. It absolutely kills diversity in the game.
It will essentially turn the Gallente suit into a non factor, and make the Amarr suit only viable to tote around a scrambler rifle.
Everyone else should spec Caldari, to enjoy the massive bias towards shields. Doing anything else is just giving yourself a disadvantage.
If CCP intends to have diversity, something major needs to be done to change this trend. Either that or just give everyone a respec, remove all the suits except shield tankers and let people get in on the fun. |

My own personal favourite is going to be the range system. That's is going to be a tremendous help.
I would like to know more about the NPE. I had some thoughts that I sent to the Dev's but honestly anything that adds to it is going to be a plus. |

This would only make me feel better if I didn't know you were adding new Roles and new Modules. The only reason this issue hasn't received more attention than it has is because the Medium Classes and Roles have all variants.
If the shoe were on the other foot and the Light Class/Scout/Pilot and Heavy Class/Sentinel/Commando had all Racial Variants while the Medium Class/Assault had only Caldari and the Medium Class/Logistics had only Minmatar and Gallente you can bet the farm these forums would be on fire with nearly every single player in the game complaining about not having all dropsuit choices available to them upon release and demanding that this be rectified immediately. |

I would also like to actually put a shout out to Sony. I was reading Himar's interview on The GamesIndustry site yesterday and stumbled across the article where World of Tanks CEO was drilling MS XBox for charging developers $ every time they want to update. If CCP has worked out an agreement with Sony to more rapidly and effectively update F2P games without damaging your bottom line then it's a Win/Win/Win for Sony, CCP and players.

YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thank you very much for this. shiny new apples are great but if the core is rotten you notice after the first bite. dont get me wrong not trying to say the core is quite rotten right now but definitely it needs some help.
i have been playing dust since about 2 weeks after the closed beta started so its been quite a while (and i have spent quite a lot of real money in that time). dust has been the ONLY game i have played since joining the closed beta until the last couple weeks where i have gone back to bf3. i love dust but it has recently gotten very hard to be as dedicated and excited about the game due to the work needed on the "core" as well as the decisions made that caused PC to only be for large dust/eve corps.
with this focus on getting the "core" shooter mechanics right i am hoping i will want to log in every day like i used to. |

Don't get me wrong, I greatly appreciate all of the hard work you guys are putting into the game, as well as the concerted effort at communicating more with the community.
I do honestly feel that having all of the Racial Variants of all currently existing classes of Dropsuits and Vehicles should be more of a priority than adding new Roles of Dropsuits and Vehicles.
At the very least could someone in the know comment on this. If something like that is possible or in the works for the rapid fire updates? Is out of the question completely?
Letting this segment of the community know something would definitely not go unnoticed.

And that's why we're getting a brand new commando suit next. (but I'm guessing not for all races either, right?)
Not that I dislike the idea of a suit with two highslots, though I feel it should've been two for pretty much every medium frame from the get-go; given the FPS standards and expectations that games like BF and COD have established.
It's just frustrating to be locked into a racial skill line just because there just isn't an alternative at present.

Would it be feasible for CCP to involve the community more in the planning process? I look at what Sony did with the Planetside 2 roadmap and I feel something like that would help the Dust community to feel more involved and connected to this game.
Also, We need a SDE with Catma data. You have several 3rd party Eve developers who are playing Dust and are ready, willing, and able to develop 3rd party applications for Dust. We desperately need an official Dust SDE to get our projects off the ground. We also want API data ASAP. |

Cool, looks very promising indeed with some bold statements.
I like the idea of rapid patching & additions, but could we also increase the speed of the game play as well? By that I mean, increasing the SP rewards at the least treble them! That'll give us players the chance to dabble in the new roles & have fun as well as specialising in one particular role.
Also, passive SP across all characters of an account not just one. |

Are weapon ranges going to be shown in the Show Info tab or is this another one ofthose things we just have to experiment with on the field?
What about efficiency ratings? Headshot efficiency? Can we please throw those in the Show Info tab as well? |

The patch notes better include something along the lines of "Massive LLAV nerf".
The LAV spam is getting worse and worse by the day, and even proto AV seems to barely scratch those LLAV's. I chucked 3 Lai Dai AV nades at a LLAV last night (all three hit, it was parked right in front of me) and lets just say I would have been better off throwing a rock at the windshield.
Also would be nifty if the commando dropsuit had two grenade slots too... heck this would stop a lot of LAV spam if ALL suits had two nade slots |

Here's hoping this includes fixing the passive scanner. I regularly get ambushed by heavies while I'm hacking objectives. They're not visible at all on my radar until I'm suddenly getting HMG-mauled from 2 meters away. I doubt there are that many heavies that have specced enough into profile dampeners to sneak up on my Gallente scout suit. |

You seem to have missed a crutial point in those 7000 words:
"These may not be the final numbers, and this section will be updated as and when more information becomes available. The purpose of this post is to ensure these modules donGÇÖt come into the game pre-nerfed."
The only person/people who know the final numbers are the devs, so why don't you wait for the patch notes, before spewing your misplaced and uncalled for, and useless, rage. |

It's a heavy so it has naturally high shield and armor I'd imagine and can hold two light weapons this is great because you could still use a duvolle tac or duvolle assault rifle but now have high range capabilities from a sniper rifle this is what makes the commando suit great. But that was BEFORE the new modules and whatnot. I was forced to go Shield Tanking on a Gallente Logistics because Armor isn't completely valid for tanking. I'm hoping the new types of plates will actually help with that, so I can get my eHP optimized, instead of trying to dual-tank. You know with a Complex Shield Extender, you get the same amount of HP as 1 Armor Plate? I just needed the speed, instead of having a 50% decrease in speed with 5 Complex Armor Plates (To maximize HP)... |

I have to say that I am excited for this but can you guys possibly look into trees, not just bushes, or make bigger bushes not just those tiny little fungi, that way snipers or even a shot-gunner (depending on the area) can hide in one and reduce there radar visual drastically and there actual visual as well making sniping allot easier because now you can be sitting on a ridge not appear on radar but they can clearly see you, then they will pull out there own sniper and pop a round in your head without he radar even seeing you. |

What makes you think we won't get all racial variants for the commando suit? You know how the assault and logistic suit models are just medium frames with different color schemes? I'm sure that's all the commando suit is going to be visually. The only reason they would have for not releasing all racial variants yet is if they actually graphically modeled a whole new suit, which I highly doubt. |

If I shoot you with a pistol from five feet away it's going to have the same impact as if I shot you from 100 feet away. The only difference is that from 100 feet away I am less likely to hit you due to it being a more difficult shot to make.
Diminished damage based on range is a stupid idea and makes no sense whatsoever. That's what you have accuracy for.
CCP, please learn how to FPS. Seriously.
All you're doing is introducing yet another ass backwards mechanic to your game that no other FPS does, and it's gonna feel just as disjointed and ass backwards as every other mechanic you've tried to force down our throats. People are going to complain and it's going to take you upwards of two years to finally admit it was a terrible idea and put in something better.

All you're doing is introducing yet another ass backwards mechanic to your game that no other FPS does, and it's gonna feel just as disjointed and ass backwards as every other mechanic you've tried to force down our throats. People are going to complain and it's going to take you upwards of two years to finally admit it was a terrible idea and put in something better.
Just do everybody a favor and listen to me now so you don't waste all our time on something destined to fail miserably.
Actually many FPS games have damage drop over range, the last 3 Battlefield series game's for example all feature a bullet damage system that decreased damge with range. For example in BF3 almost all Assault rifles were 25 damage per bullet maintaining that 25 to 8m then slowly dropping to 16.8 at 50m and continuing at that 16.8 damage until 870 to 1000m depending on the rifle. If you'd like more info on how weapons are balanced on BF3 or to confirm my statements head over to symthic.com
Now I do agree that CCPs implementation of a weapon range system has been laughable at best, but here's hoping they get it right this time.

Awesome! This is MUCH needed! This gives me hope. Hopefully the pace of development will be rapid, with at least this much growth every month. If so I think things will start to make sense and the game won't seem so oddly unfinished. Also there will be increasingly better new player retention and a number of folks who are taking a break waiting for the game to be fixed will come back.
I hope the framerate issues get some serious love stat! It can be a real bummer and an absolute killer in PC.
Also, please, please, please give KBM users the option to navigate item and command radial menus by keyboard because the mouse doesn't work at all. It's seriously broken. Have any devs tried it? Please do and you'll see how bad it is. As it is I can't be squad leader ever!!!
Also please introduce some form of matchmaking. Pubstomping is bad for the NPE and just generally turns too many matches into total beatdowns. When there's not really a way to win it's booooring and frustrating! There must be a better way! (I think adding all game modes to FW, adding an LP store, and awarding LP for FW would do the trick though and add so much to the game! 90% of the protos would leave instant matches, they'd have more to play for, and noobs would have something to look forward to! Voila!) |

Patch notes aren't counted as a dev blog. The Commando suit is only Amarr in 1.2.

Armor tanker here (9 Million SP completely invested) and thank you CCP for completely ending vehicle operation in game. Who's crazy idea was it to put two swarm launchers on one fit that is ridiculous. Swarm launchers are for one completely over powered the thought that some one can invest a tiny fraction of what and armor tanker has to invest to completely decimate you is up surd already. The fact that you can lock on with swarms and hide behind corners than shoot never getting hit or exposing yourself coupled with the huge damage that they can cause makes them not worth spending millions of isk dropping HAV's. The SP required to obtain these should have been doubled or the damage halved. Putting two of these on one suit means that the user can shout 2 to 4 volleys and switch and shoot 2 to 4 more without even reloading that is insane and I cant believe that this is being allowed to happen. Here we go again back to playing COD in space. Ill start digging the hole so we can bury vehicles in this game good job thinking this one through. |

Actually this will make a difference for all the merc's out there that like to get up and hide atop buildings, spires, tabletop, pipes, and any other platform that puts them out of range of most weapons with extra hit points and the ability to lob a ridiculous amount of "set it and forget it" missiles with out having to reload. If it weren't for the fact that swarm launchers are limited in the amount of shots prior to reload then most tankers would have no chance if any to evade. This is going to be a completely unbalanced move and going to result in major raging make my words. Yes the requirements for the suit may require an investment into heavy suits but is nothing compared to the invested to operate the HAV's an Dropship's that might as well collect dust vice feed these soon to be enders of vehicle operation aside from your free LAV "murder taxi". |

Your all assuming of course that the commando will have enough CPU and PG to run two proto versions of a swarm launcher.
It properly could but I'm guessing you would have to run CPU and PG enhancers in all your low slots. Can't you just wait till you get the specs on the suit before having a cry. |

It was mentioned at fan fest. Faster shield recharge and less hp. What is not clear is does this mean. a) faster shield recharge then recharger and a reduction in shield hp b) faster then base recharge, less then recharger, and a small bonus to hp, but less then extender. |

This. Lag/framerate is public enemy #1 right now. Even a little bit of it kills my ability to aim and maneuver properly. And often there's more than a little, and not just when I l've been playing for over 2 hours and my PS3 is having memory issues. |

A faster iterative cycle will improve balancing (I hope) and all the new control and rendering improvements described really should improve gameplay. As someone who drifted away from Dust after uprising hit, you'll be seeing a lot more of me (and my money) once 1.2 hits.

I notice we have a sofa and a bed in the merc quarters, why not combine those as the new logout feature that's being talked about? Also what about adapting the two doors in the quarter? One for dropsuits, mods, weapons & possibly a weapons testing station? Then the second for vehicles, mods etc? Also being an army veteran I notice a lack of coloured smoke grenades in various top end shooters.. And I like my coloured smoke.. And finally please add a vending machine and coffee machine to the quarter. . Altogether an outstanding game and ultimately that fact that the devs listen and act on forum info is a plus.. Keep up the good work guys. . |

I guess you are going to just have to continue deleting those notifications messages one at a time. With the patch my mail will no longer tell me that I have 50 messages. Instead it will tell me that I have 1500 messages. That will be such an improvement. With 1400 members in DUST University, despite us kicking inactive members every month, the new member notifications alone will more than fill the 1500 message list size. I have just tried to come to terms with it and suppress my OCD urge to open or delete them all.... one.... at..... a..... time.... |

Will this point release "patch" fix the hit detect issue with the Mass Drivers.
We were told that the issue with the hit detect was isolated to a client-server desync and that the fix was ready but you could only implement it on a big patch. Is this it?
And on the Dev Blog, it says July 2nd 2013... Is that the release date for uprising 1.2?

It's annoying when they glitch through props and terrain and let's not forget the majority of the time they are invisible to drivers of tanks causing to get blown up, unable to pinpoint the launchers location due to the missiles being invisible. But I'm excited regardless of what they fix and add. |

If CCP intends to have diversity, something major needs to be done to change this trend. Either that or just give everyone a respec, remove all the suits except shield tankers and let people get in on the fun. Shield tankers are indeed very overpowered,they require you to equip a flux grenade.It might seem easy,but you actually have to go to the market place and like buy them.Then its not over,you have to go to fitting and all that crazy stuff to get to equip it.I gave up half way but if you can do it,i heard you just trow the thing at a shield tank and his shield disapear? |

While I agree I'm glad they are working on the core issues that are screwed. That said and out of the way I'm looking forward to new racial heavy suits and stuff. The fact that shields ARE favored more is a PITA. I'm not going to spec anything more into Amarr heavy suits untill one of two things happens 1: we get a respec when the new heavies are intro'd or 2: we can pay to get a respec. I would rather pay to respec personally simply so it would support the game and because with higher levels being so expensive SP wise the sting of trying new things wouldn't be so bad. Good job CCP on working towards a better game. Tip back your favorite beverage to the future. |

the first racial heavy suit you give us a useless over heat damage reduction when no heavy weapon causes over heat damage, and now that your giving another racial heavy suit it doesnt get the heavy machine gun. so if your not going to make one light slot a heavy on the commando , and your going to keep the sentinel with over heat damage reduction, when will us heavies get a suit that compliments the Heavy class, i dont understand how this class is being dragged around so badly, give us a break |

The LAVs need to receive more damage from impact with drop suits and other objects. If I'm in a heavy suit with 1400 HP shields and armor when you hit me it should make a min of that damage.right now you can hit me and then hit realhard into the wall and it won't hardly damage the LAV. I'm not saying nerf the LAV I'm saying make it more realistic. |

No blog yet... and were less than a day away from update... once update happens whats the point in the blog. We can then see for ourselves, it would have been nice to know whether or not I need to save my sp or go ahead and use it, a hasty post would be much appreciated. =) |

^This So much-- Invisible players and installations from zoom ins on vehicles and such-- its a major issue-- I cant tell you how many times I have to get out of my tank -- zoom in with my sniper-- just to see where something is -- then hope to hit it with the railgun head of the tank/installation im using
This isnt to mention when zooming in from extreme distances -- or even moderate ones-- Players seem to merge into the walls or the floor or dissappear completely |

This happens to me with the sniper scope. Plus I also on occasion try to shoot a stationary target and my shots do nothing to them. |
