And am I the only one not realizing that Wednesday all of this was coming. He is simply formally writing it in a dev blog but this is all stuff that was mentioned to us in random forum posts.
Actually 3 new things and I appreciate them all. Logout feature. Ranges for weapons in game for a fps. Finally, who makes a fps without this info. And the shield energizers |

I have to say that I am excited for this but can you guys possibly look into trees, not just bushes, or make bigger bushes not just those tiny little fungi, that way snipers or even a shot-gunner (depending on the area) can hide in one and reduce there radar visual drastically and there actual visual as well making sniping allot easier because now you can be sitting on a ridge not appear on radar but they can clearly see you, then they will pull out there own sniper and pop a round in your head without he radar even seeing you. |

Hope they increase the range for the recruit assault rifle, I'm getting that Mercenary Pack soon, so don't make fun of my rifle. I got in 1st place 3 times in a row today, because of strategy and squad team work. You guys should change the way you kill a person, they don't make any reaction!

What makes you think we won't get all racial variants for the commando suit? You know how the assault and logistic suit models are just medium frames with different color schemes? I'm sure that's all the commando suit is going to be visually. The only reason they would have for not releasing all racial variants yet is if they actually graphically modeled a whole new suit, which I highly doubt. |

... namely for remote explosives and proximity mines for both dropsuit and vehicle active scanners. equipment should have built in resistances to such modules so that advance equipment would need advanced scanners and prototype equipment would need prototype scanners. clearly you would also need to add prototype vehicle scanners. Whatever comes in the future I expect great things. |

If I shoot you with a pistol from five feet away it's going to have the same impact as if I shot you from 100 feet away. The only difference is that from 100 feet away I am less likely to hit you due to it being a more difficult shot to make.
Diminished damage based on range is a stupid idea and makes no sense whatsoever. That's what you have accuracy for.
CCP, please learn how to FPS. Seriously.
All you're doing is introducing yet another ass backwards mechanic to your game that no other FPS does, and it's gonna feel just as disjointed and ass backwards as every other mechanic you've tried to force down our throats. People are going to complain and it's going to take you upwards of two years to finally admit it was a terrible idea and put in something better.
Just do everybody a favor and listen to me now so you don't waste all our time on something destined to fail miserably. |

Actually many FPS games have damage drop over range, the last 3 Battlefield series game's for example all feature a bullet damage system that decreased damge with range. For example in BF3 almost all Assault rifles were 25 damage per bullet maintaining that 25 to 8m then slowly dropping to 16.8 at 50m and continuing at that 16.8 damage until 870 to 1000m depending on the rifle. If you'd like more info on how weapons are balanced on BF3 or to confirm my statements head over to symthic.com
Now I do agree that CCPs implementation of a weapon range system has been laughable at best, but here's hoping they get it right this time.

My only question about this new update is, will the fixes to the laser rifle's sights be included in this update or will it be in a future downtime? Also any word on variants for the laser? I'm not asking for a release date just a yes or no will be fantastic. Awesome! This is MUCH needed! This gives me hope. Hopefully the pace of development will be rapid, with at least this much growth every month. If so I think things will start to make sense and the game won't seem so oddly unfinished. Also there will be increasingly better new player retention and a number of folks who are taking a break waiting for the game to be fixed will come back.
I hope the framerate issues get some serious love stat! It can be a real bummer and an absolute killer in PC.
Also, please, please, please give KBM users the option to navigate item and command radial menus by keyboard because the mouse doesn't work at all. It's seriously broken. Have any devs tried it? Please do and you'll see how bad it is. As it is I can't be squad leader ever!!!
Also please introduce some form of matchmaking. Pubstomping is bad for the NPE and just generally turns too many matches into total beatdowns. When there's not really a way to win it's booooring and frustrating! There must be a better way! (I think adding all game modes to FW, adding an LP store, and awarding LP for FW would do the trick though and add so much to the game! 90% of the protos would leave instant matches, they'd have more to play for, and noobs would have something to look forward to! Voila!) |

Lot of good stuff in the patch notes there. Are they the 2nd of the weeks dev blog trilogy or are we're getting another later?
The addition of the 1500 mails is good rather than waiting for 50 at a time. But is there still no delete all or mark as read option? Missed a trick there I feel.
I take it that the commando role is going to Ammar heavy only at the moment? Think I'll wait till I can keep it Gallente. |
