Seikoku no Dragonar (Dragonar Academy)
7/10
At an academy for humans that are able to ride dragons, Ash Blake has a bit of a problem--his "Pal" has yet to appear. Oddly enough, however, Ash possesses the unique ability to ride other student's dragons...which only further alienates him from his classmates. His life soon changes when his dragon Pal finally does appear...but in the form of a (young) human girl named Eco! She isn't buying the "master/Pal" scenario and views herself as Ash's master, leading to all sorts of wacky hijinks as a great evil emerges and the threat of war looms...
Dragonar Academy is a pretty standard ecchi power fantasy anime; the MC possesses a unique gift that enables him to grow in power, a setting that combines fantasy (magic/dragons) with technology (airships) and loads of fan service. And tentacles. LOTS of tentacles!
Though not exactly a harem anime, there is definitely a competition for the protagonist's affections between two girls with a few more thrown for more blatant sexual comedic purposes. There is a "forgotten" history between the MC and one of the competitor's (damn that amnesia!) but isn't explained in the 12 episodes offered. In fact, the happy-happy ending leaves the story pretty open for future seasons, so if you're looking for a self-contained story you may end up disappointed.
Animation is sharp and colorful, the women all cute/beautiful and the nudity is quite gratuitous. Hell, when the tentacles come out it's not hard to imagine the show having been a hentai at one point with the explicit scenes being cut for the anime release.
All in all, a guilty pleasure.

I've been really busy the past two days, and haven't watched any anime. I don't wanna have a liiiiife!!! *Cries*
In all seriousness, to make up for it, I'll go more in-depth on my Mirai Nikki analysis.
So, I love Yuno Gasai, because who doesn't? The main guy is a giant wuss, but not enough to turn me off the show. The Shrine Maiden was only okay to me. She was a cool character, but her backstory was little over dramatic. The cop I find interesting. I'm a little untrusting of him though. I'm really fond of the terrorist. (That sentence right there just put me on soooo many government watch lists.) She might end up being my favorite character. Also, keep your hair down lady, it just looks so much better that way. I didn't really like 12th or 5th. 12th didn't make sense to me, and seemed sorta crowbarred in, and 5th being who he was sorta just rubbed me the wrong way. It's not like I'm over sensitive or anything, but maybe I just didn't believe he could actually do all that stuff.
I already stated that I'm in love with the premise of the show. For the most part it delivers on what it promises. To be honest though, the main thing about it is that I have no clue how I'd develop the show. When I watch a show I always have some idea of how I think things should go down, or how they should've gone down. When a show differs from my idea I can't really say whether or not it's better because it took the path it did. However, with Mirai Nikki I have absolutely no clue how I'd even begin to plan the show. So, that's part of why it interests me so much.
The soundtrack I don't really notice, and the OP/ED are pretty much just par.

The beginning of the episodes pace was really off for a while, especially around the horse shooting incident, but this episode made me over-all like the show more. Yeah especially the first scene between the MC and the goth loli axe wielding waifu - Goth loli *sees MC inside Humvee* - Goth loli *licks her lips* I'd like to see how it feels to ride it, too ( -í-¦ -£-û -í-¦) *1 second later* - *Goth loli is on MC's lap* This is a really tight fit! Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance (Blade Dance of the Elementalers)
6/10
Kamito finds himself enrolled in a spirit academy as the only boy able to form spirit contracts...at least, the only boy in the past 1,000 years to do so since the legendary Demon Lord was defeated. Kamito forms a spirit contract--an incomplete one--with the holy sword, Est, and thus begins his new life as a student, where he encounters all sorts of beautiful girls who (naturally) develop feelings for him. His harem slowly comes together as the looming Blade Dance approaches...and with, it the ability to have any one wish granted.
All told, this was about as generic a fantasy harem anime you can find. That said, Kamito is actually an interesting character (much more so than the stock harem members that fulfill trope roles) in that we aren't watching the typical zero-to-hero progression of a typical power fantasy. Instead, we start off with the fact that, as of three years ago, Kamito was the best blade dancer of them all and won the tournament to have his wish fulfilled; a wish that, apparently, didn't go as planned, as Kamito now finds himself separated from his former spirit contract, Restia, and is much weaker as a result.
At 12 episodes, don't expect anything more than an opening act to a much larger story. As such, resolution is nowhere to be found so be warned before starting to watch.
Fairly standard moments of comedy and ecchi (though no actual nudity) surround the typical harem-style romance while fight scenes are usually quick to be resolved. Animation is good, nothing spectacular.

Days: 3 Anime Watched: 0 FML
On the bright side, watching KanColle gave me an idea for an anime. Three words: Fire Emblem Anime. Idk if you guys have ever played the games, but it's one of my favorite series. Top three. I'm thinking it starts with the protagonist's kingdom being overrun by the evil kingdom and s/he has to get it back by recruiting an army. Though, the story really doesn't matter too much. Anyone who's ever played a Fire Emblem game knows that the most important thing in the games are the characters. I'm thinking something like a central cast of 7-10 characters, and another 30 or so side ones. This would have to be at least 24 episodes if not more to properly flesh out every character.
Anime has already made me quit almost all other forms of TV since I know I won't find anything better. I've almost quit anime before because I've seen series that I feel will never be surpassed. However, if this actually gets done correctly it'd probably make me quit life. Because honestly, there'd just be nothing that would ever be able to top it.

Been watching Rokka no Yuusha (Heroes of the Flower), I'm loving the character design, the meso-american window dressing to the 'beat the demon lord' plot and the fact that the main character basically acts like a nicer batman.
Fremie has largely been my favorite so far... and when she pulled her gun on the Mc after he stole all but the single bullet in her rifle he was like "Pshhh, you aint gunna shoot me" and turned around & walked away, Fremie sighs and lowers her gun, then it cuts back to the MC and he exhales and lowers the mirror he was using to watch his back with.

I like Anime better than TV because I don't have to have any special recording devices to watch it whenever I want, and I don't have to pay more than $7 per month for it.
The biggest downside of anime is that you have to get invested in it. At least, that's what a lot of my friends say. With things like Family Guy you can watch as little or as much as you like. There is no order to it, and each episode makes sure to reset so that the series can go on forever.
Personally Anime to me is more comparable to movies than TV. Yeah there are certain series out there that have compelling stories with live action stuff (Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead, etc), but American television just seems so ridiculous all the time.
Anime also seems to have more related shows and content. As in, I can find another 4-5 similar shows after watching something I like rather than having to wait a whole week for the next episode of an american show because there isn't anything else out like it.
Even if you find a show that seems so much better than everything else, there's a good probability that something else will come out next season that is at least as decent. And even then, sometimes a show pops up that you weren't expecting to like that you find enjoying in a different way.

Hataraku Maou-sama! (The Devil is a Part-Timer!)
7/10
The Devil King's ultimate victory is at hand...until Hero Emilia shows up and rallies the humans to turn the tide. Defeated, the Devil King retreats through a magic gate, vowing to one day return. On the other side of the gate is modern-day Japan, and the Devil King (along with his trusted general) find themselves in human bodies with limited powers, no money, no food and no place to live. The solution: the Devil King will take on a part-time job working fast food! Working his way up the ladder of success, will the Devil King be able to regain his power? Will he return the affections a human girl has for him? And what will happen when he discovers that Emilia has followed him into our world?
The show's a comedy through and through, with only light sprinkles of harem comedy and ecchi thrown into the mix (no nudity.) As such, it's a pretty painless run of 13 episodes that lightly touches upon the struggles between the angels, demons and humans. The main crux of the show is how immensely powerful beings have to adapt to their new reality as humans in our world, be it from struggling to pay the bills to the emotional complexities of falling in love, and whether or not they'd like to return to their world if given the chance.
The animation is decent, though I found myself disliking Emilia's appearance from the get-go; she's simply not pretty.

And even then, sometimes a show pops up that you weren't expecting to like that you find enjoying in a different way. i don't know about the invested part, a lot of slice of life shows especially like nichijou have very little or no overarching plot, so you can pick any episode and watch it stand alone. on the other hand some series in different genres get these huge far reaching plots that most western shows don't even compare too. i think most western shows are a lot more episodic, with plotl ines spanning the length of the episode, compared to most anime where a single plot arc is normally spread over several episodes.
and i think one of the biggest reason i prefer anime over normal tv especially is the visuals, i don't just mean art styles or stuff like that, i'm talking about visual integration of CG and stuff. in a western show such as falling sky's you get these cg heavy scenes very rarely and they can't help but feel out of place, the CG tends to have this uncanny valley like effect where it doesn't quite mesh with the live action parts of the scene, in anime however there's not really anything like that, the shows as a whole just tends to look more cohesive and consistent, it makes for a more immersive viewing imo.

So, 17 episodes into Mirai Nikki, and I've noticed something.
**WARNING HEAVY SPOILERS**
Yukiteru treats Yuno horribly. He flat out uses her to further his own goals. While she fights to protect him, he mostly just cries and whines. Not only that, but he is afraid of her, and clearly doesn't trust her. In almost every given instance he'll choose anyone else above her. I suppose there was that incident where she kidnapped him, and tried to kill all of his friends. However, the way he simply leaves her is brutal. "If some crazy stalker lady kidnapped, and tied me up I'd leave her too!" You might cry, but let's look at the facts, and the people he calls his friends.
Akise: Basically a stalker himself. He just gets around it by calling himself a detective. Overall he treats Yuki well and deserves to have his trust/friendship.
Hinata: Fakes friendliness toward him to lead him to a trap where she attempts to kill Yuki and all of his friends. Yuki's response? He decides to become her friend and instantly forgives her.
Mao: Complicit in Hinata's scheme; tries to stab him. Really she was just acting to help the girl she clearly likes, so I hold nothing against her.
Kousaka: Flat out tries to get him killed by Ninth. When Yuki moves schools he tries to tarnish his reputation to force him into being an outcast. He's also openly hostile toward him.
Every single one of those people he trusts, and prioritizes over Yuno. Three of the four tried to kill him. Now let's look at Yuno: She has from the very beginning admitted that she loves him. She says she'll always protect him, and has saved his life from Third, Sixth, Twelfth, Fifth, Fourth, and Seventh. She's made mistakes here and there, but always tries to rectify them. Not to mention that every action she's taken is to achieved the "Happy End." Including the kidnapping incident which couldn't have really impacted their relationship that negatively since the "Happy End" didn't go away.

That kidnapping incident still gives me nightmares... *shivers* You won't go on a roller coaster of feelings just yet, be it hate, love or satisfying. Can't remember what happens exactly after episode 17, but I do know that you are about to tread into a mindfield (that pun) filled of bombs.
Watched the second episode of overlord, still fantastic as ever. They did a great job setting the background for the game and chars in the last episode. Now I'm hoping for more char development and the "Yggdrasil" world development. Only if they could make it as good/better than log horizon first season (second season really was a downfall compared to the first).
Just finished third charlotte episode, I was expecting great things with this show and I guess they kinda or havent reached that great development just yet with this new episode. I really liked the MC on the first episode, reminded me of kanye (from amagi) and lelouch but now I feel like he's a side character most of the time. They striped him off his "superior", narcissistic personality and he is becoming a boring MC. The main female char on the other hand is so much more interesting than the MC. She can go from super cute and uh...
-Update: i was writing the charlotte review then i found some stuff and that lead to more stuff and somehow i managed to get a (possibly) charlotte spoiler and I'm tearing up atm... so yeah I'm not emotionally ready yet.

You're kinda ignoring the beginning of the story of how Yuna and Yuki were brought together and then got to know each other. Yuki thinks Yuna was bat **** crazy before the others, so in comparison in his mind, his friends probably seem tamed, lol. Without spoiling it. She is crazy for him as you may have noticed
