Mirai Nikki: Seven episodes in, and this has to be one of the most interesting concepts for a show I've ever seen. I await to see how it all goes down though.
SCHOOL-LIVE: OMG. That was uhm.... Something. I'll definitely keep up with this one. Though, I only have a free account, so no spoilers.

I really enjoyed Mirai Nikki. IIRC, there were definitely some 'WTF' moments, more to do with certain characters' behaviours and responses than anything.
I literally watched right up until the episode before the final one and never finished the series. This was just before I went on my anime hiatus.

I want to be able to invest in this show but i can't, not when i have to treat every emotional scene as a potential death scene. i kinda want mine to die simply so i can stop caring about the characters, she's the last of those i liked. on episode 20, i'm almost at the end of this series. Edit:
Quote: i kinda want mine to die simply so i can stop caring about the character i regret these words.
Edit Edit: spoilers ahead so i finished it, on reflection binging it may have been a mistake as i was kinda numb towards the last 3 episodes, but meh. good show, would probably recommend it if someone asked about it but i wouldn't go out of my way to tell people about it. the action scenes were great, plot was generic but then i don't think i expected anything else tbh. characterization is where this show had issues though, the cast were all pretty standard tbh, young MC with lots of potential etc etc, female character who's really strong and serves as an inspiration for MC etc, tsundere, older male character to fill a father/big brother role, airhead, all pretty standard tropes in anime. their backstory's were interesting at least, fit the tone of the show and didn't come across as overdone. I particularly liked (read hated) how they made the jaegers the main antagonist likeable characters, i maintain that bohls is the best character, probably because it feels like he got the best character development in the entire show, at first you think he's a weirdo, then it turns out he's a pretty likeable guy, can come across badly at first but his heart seems in the right place, the fact he has the best domestic situation as well probably helps, its just that his job involves burning people alive, often for pretty crappy reasons.
so bohl best character, i liked mine and Chelsea as well, it sucks that we got so little screen time of chelsea because she was definitely the most likable night raider, not to mention the best assassin hands down, i'd she had the best development next to bohl, they don't really go into much details on her past but what they showed gives you plenty of context on how she behaves around her teammates and enemies (chelsea killing bohls is the only scene where i actually wanted to cry).
i liked mine cause i like tsundere's, though her feelings for our MC had raised enough death flags that i was expecting her to die for the 3 episodes preceding her actual death, kinda crappy how they did it but i was emotionally numb by that point so it might just be that it was lost on me. as for the actual ending, i want to say i''m surprised by how the last two episodes went but i'm really not, i'd normally congratulate a show for killing off the MC but i felt nothing, it was like a "huh" moment, had no impact. the fight with esdeath and the killing of the minster were the same, what should have been highlight moments felt unimportant, more like something i have to watch to get to the better bit latter on.
I think the biggest problem this show has though is time, only a few characters had ends that felt fitting, and thats because few of the cast were around long enough for you to actually connect with them, bohls was one, i hate that he died but it was a well done scene that fit him and his killer perfectly, which they ruined by having another scene after it rather than doing it at an episode end. lubbe surprisingly, was another one, i never really liked his character but the way he died fit his character perfectly, things went to crap but he still managed to find a way to take his opponent down with him, it left me with a lot more respect for his character in death than i had in his life. the others though, sheele's especially felt bad, your just starting to get to know her character and she dies, chelsea's felt a bit weird but that may have been the sudden change from kurome's death to hers, mine's was just... idk but it felt like it should have been better, leone's seemed like her wounds should have been emphasized more in the scene before. susanoo's was cool, i liked that one, and the one with the older guy, i forget his name would have been better with less talking.
if this show had devoted more time to character building (having two sets of chracters didn't help) so that you actually cared about them and less time on the fighting it would have been better i think, my reaction to character death mimicked the shows, the first couple you actually feel and spend time thinking about, with a small follow up in the next episode, then towards the end you see them die, feel bad about it then forget them next episode as they seem to have dissapeared from existence barring a mention in a few lines of dialogue. i mean they literally end one episode on seeing chelsea's severed head mounted in the town square, then the next they just move onto the next town and are all cheerful and such. would it have killed them to spend a short scene on tatsumi recovering her head or telling the others about what happened to her? in the end the show didn't care about its characters so i didn't either.

Last night I found out there are actually Australian TV stations that have anime played sometimes O.O
on foxtel I was just going through kids and family seeing if gravity falls or spongebob was on as you do and then BAMM Sword Ar..... I thought could it actually be O.O *selects the channel* OMG ITS SWORD ART ONLINE! THEY SOUND LIKE RETARDS BUT HEYY ITS ANIME! *hears yuki with the voice of a 5year old girl saying "use the controller to go forward and back, but you cant fly forever" or something like that and I was quiet amazed it was even on and rated PG like wtf... SAO has pretty much a old dude who rapes asuna at one point and there is swearing all throughout it... what parent would let a child watch SAO (I would defiantly let my kids watch anime xD I would watch it with them tbh) anyway after Kirto (forgive my spelling on the names) sliced and diced a few guys up i watched the ending credits for the song (as you do when you cant skip to next episode) and noticed another anime was on after (forgot the name it was about witch hunting and 3 girls were main characters and the episode had something to do with morals i think and one of them stole apples and some guy got outta hospital so maybe one of you know what it is) but yeah i watched that and then I saw an ad for K-On! next weeand was like WHAAATTTT how long has this been happening for.... friday night became watch anime dubs on TV for some reason night now XD
also I was looking for more on other stations and i noticed on SBS they are playing Attack On Titan and thought how long has this been happening for XD ohwell I guess i found my new reason to watch things on TV besides Gravity Falls (one of my favorite cartoons ever!!)

OniAi (As Long as There's Love, It Doesn't Matter if He is My Brother, Right?)
2/10
Awful. Just...awful. A harem anime wherein the main character serves no purpose other than to be the object of sexual desire for a household of females (please note how I avoided the term, "women".) The catalyst for the story is the reunion of Akito and Akiko after having been apart for six years; though Akito is a relatively normal (i.e. bland, generic) guy, his sister has a crush on him and wants nothing more than to take their relationship to the "next level." If that doesn't completely turn you off, don't worry--there's also the introduction of a 12 year-old around the midway point of the series to round out the harem. So, yeah...you'll definitely need to shower after watching this crap.
All that aside, the show commits the one cardinal sin of harem anime: a failure to develop any sort of attachment to any of the harem members (much less the MC.) Akito is presented as little more than the object of the harem's sexual attention with very little sense of any actual romantic feelings involved. Odd, then, that the show would focus so much on sex and yet restrict itself (for the most part) from showing any actual nudity. Then again, the female characters aren't really all that attractive, so no big loss.
I'll give it the two points for 1. providing a few chuckles here and there, and 2. the twist that Akito reveals at the very, very end of the show that actually manages to add some depth to his character. Honestly, at 12 episodes this series is more than twice as long as it needed to be with so much filler content.

Episode 7, however, is where one might say, "The plot thickens."

Princess Lover!
7/10
Teppei goes from being an average Joe (with decent sword fighting skills) to the heir of a massive corporation following the murder of his parents. His grandfather sets him up with a personal maid before sending Teppei off to a school for the fabulously wealthy, wherein no short order a harem of beautiful girls all start pining after him. After six episodes of light-hearted fun and ecchi, the plot turns more serious beginning with episode 7 as Teppei finds himself in the middle of a battle involving mega corporations and independent nations, all while pursuing a certain love interest.
I enjoyed the show, though it remained a little too light-hearted throughout (odd attempts at humor are thrown in during what should be tense situations in the latter six episodes, for example) and the ending is yet another "everything works out in the end" trope. The animation seemed oddly jarring for the first five-ten minutes but the harem members are all quite stunning.
Team Yuu all the way!!!

Awesome show. A power fantasy harem anime that skips past all of the "hero grows into his power" by starting with the hero as, essentially, a bad-ass right from the start. So instead of wasting time watching as the hero wrestles with his power, the viewer is treated to a protagonist that is more than happy being a playful jerk while keeping his noble core intact; Akatsuki is the guy we all wish we could be--brave, strong, charming and willing to take on whatever challenges come his way, and doing so with a seemingly care-free approach to it all that hides his commitment to those he cares about.
I use the term "harem" as a generalization for the fact that the hero quickly finds himself surrounded by women; however, in terms of potential love interests the show focuses on Miu (the one Akatsuki has sworn to protect and the only one that he actually displays any real romantic interest in) while also Haruka takes on the role of the tsundere character, who develops feelings for Akatsuki despite her initial animosity towards him. Listy may as well be a romantic interest for Akatsuki, though their past isn't really touched upon in the show (but is strongly hinted at.)
That actually ties into my one major complaint about the show: it isn't finished. Though the initial storyline is completed over the course of 12 episodes, it's quite obvious that it is only a part of a much larger story being told and there's no satisfactory conclusion to be drawn from this one season. Seeing as to how this was made in 2012, I don't have high hopes for more seasons. Bummer.
A minor quibble of mine has to deal with the visuals--something just seems "off" about the female characters. Their bodies are obviously quite well animated (and believe me, you'll see A LOT of their bodies) but the actual faces...ugh. I'm not sure what it is, exactly, but the female character's faces look slightly off, as though they're too round or something. That aside, the rest of the visuals are top-notch, including the battle scenes. Finished.
7/10. i can see the appeal, the MC has so much background to pull from and awkward wisdom that he's just great when on screen. Him paired with the green hair girl especially were enjoyable moments.
but villains reasonings were **** poor. From that absolutely ******** terrorists who had everything going for him but just threw it away, to the big baddie at the end of the show. There reasonings for moving forward can equate to high school popularity contests. They want to be noticed. uhg. At least the terrorist, as dumb as he was, was serious.
the jokes in dub were way better, i found myself laughing quite a bit.
ultimately, the characters depths this show provides is pointless because it plays no real part in a show. Loli getting over her issues, or pinky growing up, or the yuri growing a pair - all of it leads to absolutely nothing, lol.
so we have a pretty interesting plot and setting that gets basically tossed to the side for anime cliche's. That was the most annoying part. There's true opportunity here for a strong story between these two worlds and ideals - but boils down to personal vendetta's in the end over childish natures. le sigh.

Don't know how many times I've fallen back on it just because of how well the romance is handled. It's an actual relationship without tsunderes or things to get in the way, or even much of a plot.
