You are a beast Shadowed. I swear you go through a series a day. I normally take somewhere around a week per series. I need to step up my game.
I forgot to mention something that annoyed me about ToraDora. Whoever subbed it had Taiga call Ami "Chi-Chi" when it was clear to anyone with ears that she called her "Baka-Chi." If you've been within 10 feet of the internet in the last 20 years you know what baka means.

I'm too much of a baka to know what baka means. Speaking of bakas, watch Baka and Test. It is a great anime about a bunch of bakas. |

Holy **** If you haven't watched Food Wars, do it. NOW
Thw first few episodes were kinda uninteresting and there was too much ecchi than I would prefer so I kinda assumed that's how the whole show would be (something similar to gourmet girl graffiti from last season)
NOT EVEN CLOSE
Idk which episode it is introduced in, but the idea behind "food wars" is that in order to settle a conflict, you can challenge anyone to a shokugeki, which is basically just a formalized cook-off.
The main character Souma, being the confident type he is, gets carried away with the ability to challenge people and there's a lot of "no way, did that seriously just happen?" moments all over the place.
Of course, Souma's voice actor is the same guy as Kirito, Bell, and Sora...which actually fits quite well as I would compare this anime to about the same quality as No Game No Life.
I mean, even the same general plotline is similar. Intelligent guy starts from nothing and works his way up on his way to challenge the god of the world he is in. The basis being that in order to get anywhere you must challenge other people according to the rules of that world.
Great stuff. Not sure if it beats out Yamada-kun (the last episode isn't out for another 4 hours) but it was definitely right up my alley and will find a spot in my top 10

I've hit a road bump, though, as i've caught up on pretty much every show but the romance bout people living in the sea.
i'll be going back to the classics soon, the shows that originally got me into anime, and shows i still consider better then anything being released today.
Shows like:
Ah! My Goddess!
Beck
Bokura ga Ita
Canvas 2
Crest of the Stars - This ones a personal fav for an incredibly epic space war and a great romance.
Da Capo
Flames of Recca - Think Yu Yu Hakashu, but with a better plot.
Fruit Basket - classic of classics
Honey and Clover - not really a classic, but still wanna watch :)
Ichigo 100% - Strawberry panties ftw

I was introduced to anime pretty young actually. My brother would watch stuff like DBZ, Yu Yu Hakashu, Trigun, and Outlaw Star. However, I don't really remember much about any of those lol. After that, I started really getting into it by watching the Toonami stuff. Y'know, FMA:Brotherhood, Bleach, Naruto, SAO. The very first anime that I ever finished, and the one I credit for getting me hooked though is Inuyasha.
Good ol' Inuyasha I actually still hold pretty high. Even if the combat was just a bunch of still frames xD.

So...second season of Knights of Sidonia is in the bag. Watched all 12 episodes back-to-back with only cigarette breaks every so often. Have to say I'm pretty pleased with how things went; the ending leaves enough plotlines dangling to justify a third season while at the same time answering enough questions to bring closure should a new season never come. Have to admit that it's hard to get past the style of animation used (every character is rather ugly) but the fighting is well done. Show manages to find a suitable amount of romance without falling into the harem trope and adds a few touches of humor here and there.

Season 2 came out on Netflix today (or rather, yesterday.)
...and now I've wrapped up watching Infinite Stratos. Very slow to get going, started getting good after about six episodes or so. Pretty standard harem comedy that was sorely lacking in nipple shots, but oh, well. Once again the dubbing is hurt by the "main" female character having an annoying voice. Still, there is some decent comedy to be found and I'm strictly team-Charlotte.
Speaking of annoying dubbing almost ruining a show...Queen's Blade Rebellion, aka "let's throw ideas at the wall and use them as an excuse to show gratuitous nudity," has come and gone and left me rather indifferent. Yeah, boobs make everything better (direct correlation between bigger and better, naturally) but my God, the main character sounds like a fifty year-old chain smoker that's coming down with laryngitis. Not hot.
Seeing as to how it's just about 4am, guess I'll go back and re-watch Demon King Daimao.

I watched the original Queen's Blade subbed, and it still wasn't good. It's like, hey, here are a bunch of boobs. We'll step out now and ignore everything that makes a show good. The plot was ok, if not very well developed. The fights were just lackluster in every sense, and the characters weren't likable. Well, unless all you need to like a character is seeing them half naked every 30 seconds.

*Yawn* Think that's at least 12 straight hours of anime!
Ahh, Demon King Daimao...a great 12-episode run that cuts away the fat from typical harem shows and instead goes from being a light-hearted comedy to action-packed power fantasy in a few short steps. Early T & A gives way to fierce fighting and philosophy, as well as the role responsibility plays in what makes someone "heroic." Highly recommend this series!

i started watching anime around 2010, but when I did go into anime i started with Gundam's, like anyone typically would.
when Toonami pulled wing off the air and i hadn't seen all of it i went online to see if there was even a 'chance' at seeing the episodes i was missing. What i found were sites dedicated to gundam shows, hosting every episode they ever made for every show. That made me think about where Gundam came from, and other shows like Ruroni Kenshin.
so i did a quick google search of 'watch anime online' and came to the site animefreak.tv
It was like a world had opened up to me, it shows it's entire inventory to the right in a very, very long list, and I was amazed on how many and diverse the shows were.
So I picked one at random that seemed to go well with my theme of action and i wanted something really gritty - ELFEN LIED.
What a show to get started on. i instantly showed it to some friends and we all got hooked for a bit, but I took it further then they did when i was alone bored at night, which lead me to watch Fruit Basket.
it was my first 'real' introduction to the light hearted comedy romance brings and all the settle emotional qualities the genre tends to bring out. i was completely in love with the show. After finishing i went looking for another and found Love Hina! And i loved it too.
Then my third show sealed the deal - Toradora. It had just come out and the idea of watching a pissed off loli didn't really seem to cool, but i liked the way the animation looked.
it was probably at that point i never looked back and just straight abandoned hollywood, for the most part. it was just a string of amazing shows after that, Clannad, Air, Kanon 2006, This Ugly Yet Beautiful World, Chobits, there was just so much more to the romance genre then pretty much any Tv medium entertainment i had ever seen.
anyways, enough with the history - i'm now watching Strike the Blood - i originally dropped it half way in, forgot way, seems like a pretty good show. :3 |

I started out watching naruto when i was a kid, stopped then got back into it as a teenager, only really started watching/reading anime/manga heavily in the last few years.
gotta admit my biggest issue with translation is spice and wolf related, the sub i watched had her name as "Horo" but whenever i see a spice and wolf discussion there's a bunch of people calling her "Holo", it really annoys me.

Weirdly enough I was not interested in anime at all until my ex got me into it. When I first met her she was the type to sit in bed all day watching netflix.
I think the first one for me was Soul Eater dubbed. We then watched FMA all the way through and after that I just wanted to watch everything on Netflix.
Heaven's Lost Property, Attack on Titan, Rosario...
That's around the time when one of my youtube subs talked about Crunchyroll and offered a 30 day free trial. Upon downloading I binge watched all of SAO, Kill la Kill, Gurren Lagann...
Which was about when I found this thread on the forums and got all sorts of recommendations from you guys about past seasons.
Now I literally spend more time watching anime than I do anything else, I don't have a girlfriend anymore, and 2D women are my life. I have turned into my ex
