S{PO:ERS!~!~!~@# S P O I L E R S SPOILERS spoilers SpoLiErS
SNAFU S2 has finished up, and right when all the drama was beginning to feel forced and repetitive.
Big Sister is being turned into a plot device rather then a character, and the show overly focuses on the problem, so single mindingly marching very slowly forward on an issue that is beginning to grind.
What really gets me though is how it ends. Cliffhanger with no news of season 3. gah.
I also watched The Fruit of Grisaia Season 1....
O.O
That show has crazy escalation. It doesn't particularly boast the best story of all time, but it does make it interesting.
it does get a tad boring at times as the girls predictably respond to most scenario's, but there are some exceptions, like the loli, she's hilarious with her harsh language at times.
What really drove this story was the last ark, and the longest. It was pretty intense, and even knowing the outcome it made you wonder which way it would all go down.
Each resolution was pretty plain, somewhat unbelievable. But it was still a good watch and i'll look forward to season 2.
also the ecchi in this show was great, lol, i admit i enjoy some ecchi in my show, and this show honestly spent very little time showing ecchi, but when it did, lmao, :3 |

The second season already finished, and I'm probably going to go find the Visual Novel for this now. Grisaia definitely pushes the limits when it comes to mature content, but it does it in a creative and artistic way.
The second season has less ecchi, but gives the rest of the characters proper backstory. The ending is decent, but definitely not bad. Kinda hoping for some OVAs if there aren't any already.

Anyway, episode 16 of ToraDora officially earns the great honor of having the greatest fight seen ever. It wasn't anything fancy, but the pure raw emotion coming from both of them was amazing. This is coming from a guy who has seen things like JoJo, DBZ, SAO, AoT, Bleach, and FMA: Brotherhood.

I've heard a lot about it, but never played it myself.
Although every time I've heard about it people are always talking about how amazing it is. My roommate has it sitting on his shelf...maybe I'll check it out after I'm done with Alpha Sapphire (got it for my birthday last month from a friend and haven't sat down to just finish it like I did with Y)

Just finished up Attack on Titan (I know I'm late) and started watching Psycho Pass.
I'm really interested in finding mature animes geared for an adult audience and looking for suggestions for after I finish Psycho Pass. Here is a list of animes I have already watched:
Death Note Wolf's Rain Trigun Cowboy Bebop Samurai Champloo High School of the Dead Blue Gender Speedgrapher (didn't finish this one, was a little too Power Rangers for my taste) Attack on Titan Paracyte Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade
Something similar to the themes presented in this list is a must. I like realistic traits with unique flare, so it doesn't have to be hardcore realistic but I do want some maturity in the overall presentation.
I know it is a sin but I'm preferable to English Dubs so I can do other things while I watch. I don't really like being glued to the TV to understand what the characters are saying. Also, I have a preference for Netflix and Hulu as I have those, but am willing to get Crunchyroll as well.
Thanks, ahead of time, for any suggestions.

I've only ever watched a handful of these, but here's my suggestions:
(btw, if you don't like subtitles, I highly recommend NOT getting Crunchyroll)
-Fate/Zero or Fate/stay Night (Netflix) -Knights of Sydonia (If you can ignore the horrible animation in the first few episodes, Netflix) -Akame ga Kill (Hulu) -Cross Ange (if you can get past the copious amounts of boobs, Hulu) -The Fruit of Grisaia (again another heavy ecchi title, Hulu) -Darker than Black (Hulu) -Death Parade (Hulu)
Not sure about english dubs, but I know that if it's on Netflix, 90% of the time it has an english dub...
Death Parade I know for a fact doesn't have an english dub but let me tell you right now that you will absolutely have your face glued to the screen anyways when it comes to this show. It's just that good. ________________________________________________________
Here's a brief summary of the rest of them:
Fate/ series: historical figures are summoned back to the present to fight in the holy grail wars, a game of masters and servants each with different abilities (Saber, Archer, Caster, Rider, etc)
Knights of Sydonia: Attack on Titan...in space (the whole thing is 3D modeled, so the character animations are somewhat weird)
Akame ga Kill: literally anyone can die, even your favorite character. (there's a bunch of these "imperial arms" that must be destroyed, and each character on the good and bad side has a different weapon)
Cross Ange: The princess Angelise gets taken away to a military camp far outside the city where they have to fight off dragons to protect the city because she was not able to use mana. She changes drastically as a character, but then there's the biggest plot twist that literally blows your mind about halfway through (if you can get past all the lesbian girl on girl gundam action)
Fruit/Eden of Grisaia: assassin dude goes to a secluded school for girls that have a wide variety of issues because of traumatic experiences in their life. After harem time in fruit of grisaia, eden of grisaia develops the guy's backstory as well as furthering the plot after the events in the first season (despite sounding like your typical anime, this one gets really dark and each character is surprisingly mature)
Darker than Black: After some weird **** happens in tokyo, a bunch of people develop super powers in exchange for having to "pay the price" each time they use them (some sort of compulsory habit). These "contractors" are hired by different factions to either commit crimes or hunt other contractors.
Death Parade: two people arrive in an evevator to a small room with a bar where they have no recollection of what they were doing beforehand. The barkeeper asks them to play a game that determines the fate of the two players. OH AND THIS SHOW HAS THE BEST MISLEADING OPENING OF ALL TIME: https://youtu.be/UjjTMNDZi-A

Fate/stay watch the old one first =ƒÿä Potential ones you could like, full metal alchemist brotherhood, full metal panic, black butler, Tokyo ravens and Noragami (both are new dubs)
Netflix- full metal alchemist brotherhood 4/5 seasons, d grey man(only dubbed up to episode 50) heavens lost property, the devil is a part timer, soul eater, Rosario vampire (it's really hit or miss for some people) Freezing both seasons, black butler might still be on Netflix idk? My bride is a mermaid, That's all I remember for now
Also kissanime works well with mobile just ps4 tends to have a memory issue I can't solve..guess it does it often on the web browser ? If you have a ps4 and use the web browser and get "error not enough memory" don't worry about it..it's a load but still runs great other than that tends to happen often

Good picks, additionally, you may also like:
- Future Dairies (Mirrai Nikki) - Steins Gate - Another - Full Metal Panic *This one's unique, season 1 is very much what you're looking for while still being very much a romance anime that the rest of us adore and love, but come S2 it turns off the high school and pumps up the volume. S3 goes back to slice of life, the pacing of this show really makes it enjoyable. - Another - Morbito - Madoka Magica *Magical girl mind ****, you'll love knowing you, lol.* - When They Cry - Bryhndlr *From the makers of Elfen Lied*
The Romance Genre is particularly targeted at ages 13-28, so if you enjoy good characters you'll find yourself enjoying that genre probably more then the action or 'adult' genres. |

speaking of romance, I'm rewatching Oreshura.
Originally, I didn't like this show. The main character is cool, main female protagonist is pretty cool, it's everyone else.
This is one the last harems to come out that follows the formula to a T. A guy whose weird attracts weird girls for weird reasons and makes a weird harem over it.
Lately, though, in harems like Nisekoi, there are more then one reasonable options for the guy to pick. He'd be lucky to have any of those girls.
But in Oreshura, if he picks anyone else but the main female then he is brain dead. The other girls at a high school level are so emotionally immature it border lines pathetic. There parents must feel incredibly ashamed on how there daughters think and feel. I would of felt like a failure of a parent to any of the three other girls in this story.
luckily the show focuses on the only good characters, but constantly let the other characters interrupt any emotional value the show trys to build.
The show is saved for me simply because the silver hair girl so strongly reminds me of the silver hair girl from Katanagatari. Same voice actor too for both characters, and she's an incredible voice actor.

Another night of anime bingeing! Finished the second season of Is This a Zombie? and I have to declare...this is possibly my favorite anime of all time. So damn funny (and yes, this was even the dubbed version!) Why is that my favorite characters are usually the "loser" friends that are regular targets for abuse?
Also watched Nakaimo: My Sister is Among Them! last night. Have to say, the lead character had quite possibly the worst English voice-over in history; imagine David Schwimmer pumped full of Valium and you should get an idea of how flat his delivery is. Was a decent show overall, though the whole Brother/Sister thing is hard to get past. The mystery of the sister's real identity is actually handled pretty well with plenty of red herrings but the ending comes too abruptly, in my opinion. Would have preferred to see the main character actually make the announcement to the world of his sister's existence and confront the people in the company trying to manipulate things but alas, it wasn't meant to be...
Right now I'm finishing up the To Love Ru Darkness OVAs...wow. They're really, really toeing the line with what you can get away with in a non-hentai show!
Have watchcartoononline bookmarked as a favorite and plan on spending my weekends ODing on animated goodness from here on out!

Other ones you may be attracted to are Deadman Wonderland. That one was on Netflix, and has a dub. It's quite gory though. Durarara is quite interesting as well. It has a dub, and I believe it's on Hulu. If not, it's definitely on Crunchyroll. It's actually going through it's second season.

On one hand if you look at Aeon's list and are making recommendations based on that criteria then you guys are doing a pretty good job of giving him shows that he'd probably enjoy. On the other, I really take issue with the notion that having gore or character deaths makes your material geared toward 'adults' or a 'mature' audience. Like half the **** you guys mentioned is definitely aimed at a younger teenage demographic regardless of how edgy it tries to make itself (looking at you Deadman Wonderland, Mirai Nikki, and Akame ga Kill).
Not that there's anything inherently wrong with being aimed at younger audiences of course just ... yeah.
My recommendations (based on the shows you've enjoyed) -
Hellsing Ultimate Monster Baccano Berserk (the TV series, not the movies) Fate/Zero
Go crazy.

Dub is fine but the show is pretty crushingly generic as a whole.

So on that one show i'll argue you're wrong.
And Seraph's only generic feature is the Naruto x Saske *or however it's spelt* plot. Predictable, but it being admits a war of magic between vampires and humans makes it fun to watch :3
Oh, and the main character is basically Natsu. |
