Fate/Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya 2wei Herz: Just finished this one. Less a third season, and more like season 2, part 2, Half-Life 2, Episode 2. Still, the format I find in the show to be quite good. The first half or so of the season is comedy, the second half is drama. So while not mixing the elements, it does do a good job on both individually. The combat animation is done very well.
The cast is overall very enjoyable. The antics they get into with each other is some of the best comedy fuel I've ever seen. Not to mention the yuri. Yea..... Anyway, with a strong cast of main characters, and side characters that while being pretty one note don't see too much overuse keeps things refreshing. Even the non-action parts that don't advance the story are a treat, and arguably better since we get to see the characters enjoy themselves.
The animation, as stated above, is very good. Especially the combat. It's flashy without feeling overloaded. The music is something I sorta failed to pay attention too.... Which just means it didn't stand out. Overall it's a decent watch, with a fairly standard shounen/magical girl plot, with lovely yuri, and comedy thrown in.
Who I Would Recommend This To: Anyone who is already invested in the other Fate Series, likes a lighthearted magical girl show, or has a healthy appreciation for yuri.

Overlord
3/10
Fantasy/Comedy
Plot: Going by the username Momonga, one boy rose to the top in a MMORPG named Yggdrasil; as guild leader, he and 40 other players established a fortress and filled it with NPCs to act in their stead. As time went on, members of the guild gradually left until Momonga finds himself alone as the server is finally taken offline...but Momonga remains inside the game. He is now living as the undead character that he created, surrounded by the NPCs that he helped to create, though they all now have wills of their own. Together, they find themselves in an unfamiliar world. Thinking that it must be another game world, Momonga sets off on a quest to spread his guild's name in the hopes of being recognized by other players...
Theme: Humanity and the nature of free will.
A run-of-the-mill series that follows in the footsteps of No Game No Life by introducing an MC that is vastly superior to those around him...and then giving the viewer little reason to care about him as a person. The show points out that Momonga is no longer capable of expressing emotion, but what he has really lost is his humanity--his actions are entirely self-serving and views everything in the perspective of whether or not it will aid his plans. Most every other character in the show is flat, one-sided and utterly forgettable.
Worst of all, however, is that very little actually happens during the 13 episodes. Everything serves to hint at or set up a larger story, but that's as far as it goes; there are no major revelations or main villains.
Comedy is generally poor and worth little more than the occasional chuckle.
Art is solid and the MC looks like a souped-up Skeletor. Female characters are generally mediocre and none are memorable. Music is good.
Verdict: A waste of time. Considerable potential that is spoiled by an uninteresting MC and a lack of any real story progression.

Verdict: A waste of time. Considerable potential that is spoiled by an uninteresting MC and a lack of any real story progression. I think there was a miscommunication between you and this show.
Firstly, the MC is anything but self serving, he makes up excuses to his selfless actions to make them seem selfish to his comrades to put up a front, he still has his human heart, including the thoughts and emotions., which makes him very human still, it's just he's not allowed to act upon these emotions. So when he feels them, they're nullified. But it doesn't change the fact the feelings have to be eliminated as they occur, and the thought process and person behind the feelings is very much there. And shows this time and time again by caring about the frail humans, sometimes gifting them beyond reason. *Remember that wall around the village?*
Secondly, the entire cast is almost made up of NPC's, they're specifically designed to be one dimensional, with tidbits of more in there description to be used as a plot device.
The humans in this world aren't as one dimensional, showing regret and confusion, and showing them at times making tough choices, or choices they don't like. The plot sort of forces the humans to be more realistic then the demons, trying to create a link between us and them so we can feel compassion for there plight, while creating a bond between gamer and anime viewer.
The show definitely goes NO WHERE fast. 13 episodes felt more like 6. And the shows director decision to focus more on the adventure side of thing instead of finishing fleshing out the world was a horrible decision that'll likely lead to a future remake. Potential is definitely there. |

I disagree. The show points out the instances wherein his humanity is suppressed with that flicker-type deal. How often do you see that occur?
Times he acts out of kindness: -saves the girl and her little sister and gives them a healing potion + goblin horns -???
Times he acts out of his own interests: -sends the warrior out to do battle and lets his allies be slaughtered before swapping places with him to learn more about the enemy -demands that granny give him everything as payment to rescue her grandson -admits that he would do the same thing as the insane Clementine -plans to kill/maim the King of the Forest to increase his fame, even at the risk of increasing monster attacks upon the nearby village -kills the other adventurer that wants to hunt the vampire
And that says nothing of the fact that he admits to himself that the deaths of those humans around him do nothing to him (note the lack of flicker effect as he states this.) He is, in fact, still treating everything around him as nothing more than a video game and therefor operates without fear of consequences.
As for the characters, can you name one unique personality, outside of the MC? They are all generic stock characters indistinguishable from most any other anime that shares similar genres.

Kiss x Sis (TV)
2/10
Incest/Ecchi/Harem/Comedy
Plot: Keita is in his final year of middle school and will soon be taking the entrance exam to attend the same high school as his older twin step-sisters, Ako and Riko. The girls are extremely supportive of his studies as they both harbor romantic feelings towards Keita...and they'll do pretty much anything to help him out with his studies. Can Keita fend off their advances (and his own hormones) long enough to pass the test?
Theme: It's okay if you're not related by blood, right?
So...I believe this is the second-worst series I've watched, with only DearS taking the crown as King of Crap. The voice actor for the MC is, without a doubt, the worst Japanese VA I've ever heard--it sounds as though he's holding his nose as he reads his lines. What else can I say? How about the fact that a running gag for the show is the girl who urinates on the MC's head once, then has the urge to urinate every time she sees him after that? Or the parents openly supporting the whole incest angle?
Of course, there's also the fact that the MC is one your typical oblivious/indecisive morons--start off with the whole "gross, you're my sister!" bit before shifting to getting REAL hot and heavy with his sisters (the chocolate lipstick scene was actually pretty hot) and then suddenly reverting back to his original mindset...yeah, the whole show is basically him spinning his tires.
Every character on the show pretty much sucks. The sisters never evolve past the love-struck incestuous nymphos stage. Honestly, I can't think of a single character that changes over the course of the show. Shame, really, as the teacher was the only decent-looking character on the show but was saddled with being a closeted-perv comedic character.
Animation is pretty awful for having been made in the past ten years. The Urinator is absolutely hideous in the face and the MC has an absolutely massive head when viewed from the side. Music isn't noteworthy. Ecchi is everywhere in the show, with a few moments that are worth a chuckle (particularly the secret ingredient for Keita's good luck charm) and the show doesn't shy away from over-the-clothes genital stimulation...and yet there's no real nudity. Weird.
Verdict: Not even "so bad it's good," this show sucks. Plain and simple. I'll never get those 5 hours or so of my life back...

As for the characters, can you name one unique personality, outside of the MC? They are all generic stock characters indistinguishable from most any other anime that shares similar genres. Saves the girl, avenges his friends, ends the necromancers plot in a needless way, often give advice to others to keep them safe.
And the third episode he made it clear he wasn't going to get too involved in the world yet till he fully understood it. That's why he let the knights go out to die. Had the main knight not talked to the MC, he likely would of ended up dead himself. Also, remember, the MC didn't step in until the attacking force declared they were going to slaughter the village next.
so the MC took a stone and hit two birds, he saved the very popular knight to increase his fame, and protected a village under threat again. Which was probably his plans from beginning after he decided to protect the village and build his name through them.
And he's basically taking granny and her kid out of area's not under his influence and putting them somewhere safe. Remember, that kid is dangerous to him, and that old woman seems very knowledgable. He has uses for both of them.
He talks tough, and he might back it up, but only to put up an image. In the back of his mind he'll be berating himself over it.
And the 'village' in question to be in danger was the one already being protected by him. At this point he had already seen what the area's local demon life are like, they aren't much more effective then the guards he left at the village. Plus, if you remember, before he even entered the forest it was completely scouted out by one of the twins, who special ability apparently is monster taming and controlling.
Again, he always appears to be selfish. But it's just appearances.

Kail Mako wrote:Shadowed Cola wrote:Here's the first video. It's not a review more then just a test of the editor and recording value.
Here's the channel I have made thus far for this. If anyone is good with images, I want Anime Empire placed next to her to complete the look. After watching "SoTa's first video" I have a few things to say. First of all, I recommend watching channels such as DouchebagChocolat, CyanideBlizzard, GLENLOVESANIME, and Misty Chronexia. These are channels I personally enjoy for watching anime related content. You'll notice that Misty, and DemoD have built up quite a fanbase, so watching them may help in the kind of personality you need to be successful. The second thing you'll notice is that each one sticks to a format. While it's not bad to experiment, I'd say that you should start by using only one style. It sounds to me that you'd be most comfortable doing "should you watch" styles. However, do not be afraid to stray after you've built a fan base. I heavily recommend doing a "top ten" video or two. Those always draw a large amount of views, and would be great exposure for your channel. The next most important thing is schedule. YouTube's subscription feed is notoriously spotty. If your fans don't know when you have posted a video they won't watch it. So I recommend doing one video a week, or one every two weeks. As you get more experienced you can make more videos. The second thing a schedule helps with is format. Let's say you start with "should you watch" style, and you post every Friday. Well, if you ever feel like expanding you can do "top tens" which you post every Wednesday. You might go even further and start doing "first impressions" every Tuesday. Etc. Different people will be drawn by different things. This will allow people who only want to watch one type of video to know when to check in. Finally, be professional. You definitely want a script written before hand. Winging it can sound bad, and can make you have problems while filming. It doesn't hurt to have little intro and outro segments. Actually, including them can be beneficial. They can be when you interact with the viewers, but for the most part stay on topic. 90% of your video should be on topic. Oh, and feel free to pull anything directly from me. As long as you credit me somewhere (it can even be in the description) you can use direct quotes. Also, I already stated that I have an interest in being a writer. So, if you wanna PM your email or something? I read through this yesterday and it was great insight, I've made a few changes in direction, and I've understood from the beginning my format, or style, is very important and would define the foundation of my show, where my personality will sell it.
My email I'll leave here for everyone in case you guys find something interesting, [email protected]
I'll be checking out your links soon after I finished Devil part timer. |

Couple more updates:
I will be dual posting here, a long with Anime Empire In YT from now on, using that as my main focus. I'll likely be putting more attention that way from now on, while keeping this group updated and more casual focused.
Every Friday I hope to relese one complete summary review, and over the course of the week compiling information and news to create other types of videos, ranging from "Top Ten's" to live-streaming reactions.
Obtaining our own forum is now definitely a possibility. |

Since last time I've watch first season of kimi, Black Rock Shooter (really liked that one) started on ep one of amnesia and ive added about 10 more anime to my to watch list... gotta put Tokyo Goul and and the rest of Ghost in The Shell on there but idk still haven't got around to it.
my list has some of the following True Tears Pandora Hearts Mekakucity Actors Kara-no-Kyoukai-Mirai-Fukuin (and the other movies such as garden of sinners which are in the series) actually that's most of them honestly. jjust looks lke more on my list due to the specials having different links cause i want them that way. but yeah also big thanks to the one whom recommended Nightcore Reality <3 im now a fan XD

Anyways, I edited the second video, the ending is what really changed, and lowered the length of the star wars script.
As expected, it didn't upload correctly, and I've already fixed it and know how to prevent it for future videos. It also gives a hint of the kind of reviews I'll be doing in the future.
I'll be enjoying the Dubs very much, Prison Schools review will be especially fun to make >: ) |

Howl's Moving Castle: That's right people I watched Ghibli, and I did it... Dubbed. Since I have no intention of viewing the sub I don't know if this was a mistake. For the most part the voices were fine, except for a few instances where they obviously shoe-horned in extra syllables. That mouth stopped moving two seconds ago. I'm onto you Ghibli dubbers...... Enough of that though.
The portrayal of the protagonist was masterfully done. I didn't think I could get behind an old lady as the MC, but somehow I ended up loving her. She basically carried the movie Honestly, I didn't really like Howl. I felt that by the time it we started he was already fully developed, and his arc was just learning his backstory. Additionally, the romance developed very naturally, and was believable enough. Except for Howl. I could see Sophie falling in love with him, but they honestly didn't really do enough for me to think that Howl loved her. I didn't feel the spark from him. The side characters are pretty irrelevant. While being entertaining, the plot sort of just moved itself forward.
The score is one of the best I've heard with each tune matching what is onscreen. I do feel like at one point in the beginning the footstep noises didn't actually match the walking though. The world though.... That to me, was the true MC. The world was a magical one. A world with vibrant colors, breathtaking scenery, awe-inspiring technology and magic. It felt alive.
Overall, I would say this one is better than Totoro. Yea, I said it. Howl's Moving Castle is better than My Neighbor Totoro.
Who I Would Recommend This To: Do I even need to do this? I'm sure all of you have seen every Ghibli film like 8 times. I do? Oh, well of course anyone who likes Ghibli should watch it. Anyone who wants a solid romance in a crazy, and magical setting would also enjoy it.
