Short enough for most people to watch in one or two days...

"Today in No Friggin' Clue Review, The Devil Is a Part - Timer, satisfying ending, or an ending to a great beginning? Let's find out! * enter shows logo, if I ever get one, hehe*
Many in the land of anime has asked the age old question time and time again, can an ending ruin a good show? Does the last few moments hold enough edge over the rest of the show that it brings it toppling down?
Well, let's take a look at a show who almost didn't even try to have an ending, and ask ourselves: Did it ruin the experience?
Is the show better off with an open-ended ending, or does it frustrate the viewer?
And then I will start talking about the show itself, explaining the characters, background, and how everything ties together. Then we get closer to how the show ends we begin to really take a look at how how that show handled the ending effected everything before it. |

Monogatari Second Season (4th part of the Monogatari series)
8/10
Supernatural/Romance/Ecchi/Comedy
Plot: Koyomi's troubles continue to mount as finds himself facing against more apparitions...but now with time travel!
Theme: It's so hard to say goodbye.
Monogatari Second Season consists of 5 separate stories, of which two really stood out to me: Kabukimonogatari, on the surface, deals with Koyomi's attempts to change the past to save the life of Mayoi before she is killed and becomes a ghost...only to discover the tragic events that result from his actions. The actual story, however, is Koyomi's relationship with Shinobu and how important they are to each other. Shinobu, the proud former vampire that was once nigh-invincible but is now confined to living inside of Koyomi's shadow; her story is a sad one, and yet you can sense that she's not actually upset by her current situation. I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say that she loves Koyomi, but there is definitely a strong emotional attachment that exists between the two.
The second story that stands out to me is Koimonogatari, the final story of this season. Kaiki takes on the central role after Hitagi begs him for help. The story is carefully constructed to keep Kaiki's true motives in constant question while at the same time, offering glimpses of where his true heart lies and his feelings for Hitagi.
A common theme throughout this season is the sense of loss that permeates everything--not only is Koyomi's high school life coming to end, but he must come face-to-face with the realization that he can't hold onto all of those around him. Mayoi's storyline is truly heartbreaking, as is Koyomi and Shinobu's confrontation with a Shinobu from an alternate reality. If the previous three releases were about Koyomi amassing a harem around him, this season is all about the dissolution of said harem.
Verdict: The best of the series, but VERY bittersweet.

Hanamonogatari (5th release) and Tsukimonogatari (6th release)
5/10
Supernatural/Ecchi
Plot: Kanbaru must confront the ghosts of her past while Koyomi must face the reality that he's become too dependent upon his lingering vampiric powers.
Them: All good things come to end.
Totaling just nine episodes in all, the two stories are perhaps the weakest of the series. Kanbaru's story, in particular, felt rather aimless and amounts to little more than "she really misses Koyomi and Hitagi." Tsukimonogatari fares a bit better, but still pales in comparison to previous seasons.
Verdict: Rather disappointing, but does lay the groundwork for future storylines.

That's why I argued that you two were missing the point of the ending--it was never an attempt to "resolve" anything. Rather, it stood as confirmation of what the show had been stressing all along; that, if given a clean slate, Mao would prove himself not to be inherently evil and that the Hero could find compassion towards her mortal enemies.

I recall it having a lot more going on then just Mao proving he's more then just a typical anime trope. It basically themed the 'don't judge a book by it's cover' the entire show with how each character is introduced then explained.
They even work it in in layers, from how they perceive our world, to how they perceive there own.
More I talk about it the more I look forward to the re-wtch. I'll make it Dub this time :3 |

Honestly, I thought the show missed a major plot point with Emi and Lucifer--wasn't it his army that killed her father? I understand that, by the time he shows up in the story, Emi has already realized that the devils are far different than they were in their world...but she doesn't really seem to have any sort of reaction to Lucifer being there. No confrontation or anything...

This. Also, Legend of the Legendary Heroes is epic.
Also, i forgot one very important anime. First it was an epic(manga) then developed to an anime, and recently, back in 2013, had a movie released in japan that i must see. I am talking about, none other, than the one, the only: Space Pirate Captain Harlock.

It seems, although Lucifer lead the forces, she directly blamed the Demon King for her fathers death, and says that in her flash back, and again to his face.
Her opinion of Lucifer changes naturally as she sees the other demons aren't what they seemed already, and he's awkward even among the demons. |

Shadowed Cola wrote:Here's the first video. It's not a review more then just a test of the editor and recording value.
Here's the channel I have made thus far for this. If anyone is good with images, I want Anime Empire placed next to her to complete the look. After watching "SoTa's first video" I have a few things to say. First of all, I recommend watching channels such as DouchebagChocolat, CyanideBlizzard, GLENLOVESANIME, and Misty Chronexia. These are channels I personally enjoy for watching anime related content. You'll notice that Misty, and DemoD have built up quite a fanbase, so watching them may help in the kind of personality you need to be successful. The second thing you'll notice is that each one sticks to a format. While it's not bad to experiment, I'd say that you should start by using only one style. It sounds to me that you'd be most comfortable doing "should you watch" styles. However, do not be afraid to stray after you've built a fan base. I heavily recommend doing a "top ten" video or two. Those always draw a large amount of views, and would be great exposure for your channel.
The next most important thing is schedule. YouTube's subscription feed is notoriously spotty. If your fans don't know when you have posted a video they won't watch it. So I recommend doing one video a week, or one every two weeks. As you get more experienced you can make more videos. The second thing a schedule helps with is format. Let's say you start with "should you watch" style, and you post every Friday. Well, if you ever feel like expanding you can do "top tens" which you post every Wednesday. You might go even further and start doing "first impressions" every Tuesday. Etc. Different people will be drawn by different things. This will allow people who only want to watch one type of video to know when to check in.
Finally, be professional. You definitely want a script written before hand. Winging it can sound bad, and can make you have problems while filming. It doesn't hurt to have little intro and outro segments. Actually, including them can be beneficial. They can be when you interact with the viewers, but for the most part stay on topic. 90% of your video should be on topic.
Oh, and feel free to pull anything directly from me. As long as you credit me somewhere (it can even be in the description) you can use direct quotes. Also, I already stated that I have an interest in being a writer. So, if you wanna PM your email or something?
